The sparkling bright signature sound of the strat really comes through on your video audios, Brett. These guitar makers should pay you for these demos. They're that good.
Great tone, playing and demonstration, Brett! Thank you very much! This is my favourite spec of a Strat! I have a similar Squier Standard with similar custom pickups. You inspire me to have some new discoveries of my guitar tone. One day I have to change to nitro-finish to make it the best it can be.
Those tones remind me 70s Deep Purple and Black Sabbath sound texture. As always with Brett we got a tremendous, first class, demonstration. Thank for sharing mate ! Cheers from Canada.
I am blessed to own one of these, I think from 2019 or 2020. Cannot recall. Great neck, nice and thick! Never thought I would like a neck that thick. But boy, this one just feels great and acoustically is the best sounding Fender I have ever played and I've been playing Fenders for 60 years. Unfortunately, I have not been able to play it much due to poor health, but highly recommend this model. Five-way switch was not available until -- I believe -- the early '70s. You can still ease the three-way switch into the notch positions if you have a little patience. What most of us old timers would do, is take a flat screwdriver to that pickguard and dig out a spot for the screwdriver to fit in to reach the neck adjust screw! Nice playing, nice sounds, nice demo!
I'm trolling all things Iron Duke at the moment. it's going to be a big step to sell my mesa, but these amps hold their own so well. my ideal guitar to test any amp is a strat, and this one of yours is very nice. they reveal the good or bad tone of amps/effects. that MI iron duke amp sounds amazing.
What a sweet sounding guitar, Brett. But I've been hankering for the Player Plus HSS Strat and it's all I can do not to spend money I don't really have to get one. Maybe after we've settled into a more normal gigging situation... It's improving but not yet (if ever) to pre-C levels.
Nitro! FTW! The blonde is made of ash I believe so might be a bit more weighty than the 3 tone or other colors. Fat neck but not too fat and shaped perfectly, especially if you have larger hands (win for me). Similar to the AVRI but with more modern appointments. These and the american pro series are the best thing fender is making today, outside of the custom shop but that debatable, and the best they’ve made for the past 40 years.
G'day Brett. Great tone. Got an MJF custom Strat that needs a refret. Can't get hold of him. I know Mervs up your way, but can you recommend anyone? Cheers
Great strattness . Great series that is getting passed over for suboar guitars like the ultra & pro II models. These pickups do not come wit the fanfare of the Shaw stuff seen on the V-mod pickups .They're are cheaper to. Listen to the clarity compared to Shaw pickups Oveall more dynamic imo. He is not running it right needs to eq the top end back in. Way to much distortion or overdrive on a mid-hump amplifier . The low end is the focus. Just my thoughts on a great guitar. Yes nitro lacquer smells sweet, but oh so toxic.
Very nice, Brett! I thought I maybe liked the Mary Kaye option that's available which is blonde finish with gold hardware, but I think the chrome hardware like you have would suit me better. Great sounding and looking guitar. I still lean toward the 60's version but this 50's model is awesome. Congrats and enjoy!
The neighbours won’t complain about this guitar because it’s not too noisy like that “Iron Horse” thing you had on the other guitar. I suppose you got this guitar from America?
Have this guitar. Needs a lot of modifications to be a good one. First the trem really sucked. Too wide string spacing . The high e string always slip of the fingerboard. Relaced that with a ABM. Now it is good. Pickups switched to fralins cause the v59 pickups in there are really not suite the ash body in my opinion. And that neck is really horrible to play i have to say. I give it a lot of sanding for being more comfortable. This nitro laquer is like honey. Sticky like hell. Absolutly hate it. Now that guitar is ok. But not more than that. Oh, and the frets are very smal. Kind of low medium. I bout it on ebay used so there was not refund.

Nice!
Strats just have THAT SOUND!!
If I didn't already have a Strat I was happy with I'd consider one of these. You made it sound excellent.

Newcomer on the channel here. This guitar sounds fantastic, I'm really impressed. Excellent demo and tasty phrasing.
Thanks mate, great demo. A little bit bright for me. Love your work.

Great playing as always Brett
Great presentation !!!
Top class demo!
Thanks, Giulio. All the best.
Do you believe there would be a Big difference in Sound between this ash Body and the other 50’s original with alder body?
Nitro! FTW!

Great guitar and great performance 🙂🎸🎸💯
This looks and sounds very close to The Eric Johnson signature... good demo as usual thanks

Do you prefer your 60’s?
Nah, they both have their charms. I like the more 'innocent' tone of this one but then the '60s has a deeper thing going on.
Looks more like lavender under that light
it's actually white as can be in person. slightly greyish with hints of wood texture
and it comes in southpaw

So it's not really an original 50s Strat it's made in 2021. Bridge pickup is to bright for me, otherwise sound really good
original series fender line. not a 50s made .
