Sweet guitar brother! Very nice! Last year I picked up a Squier Classic Vibe 50's strat in white-blonde. I found myself gravitating to it even over my AmPro hss. It's very light and the neck feels great. So, I had the shop build me a custom decoboom red tortoise streamliner pickguard loaded with fat 50's and cts pro pots kit. the American Original is currently the top-tier Fender. If we didnt't feel like it was the definitive Strat ever, Fender would have failed. I am yet to see a bad review for this one. Seems QC is really working well on this line too. :)
You seemed to also really enjoy playing even more than usual on this strat, probably a very magical strat. And I agree, to me too it’s one of the prettiest guitars I’ve seen you with. I love ash bodies when you can see the grain through the finish a little. Absolutely stunning. Reminds me of the Mary Kaye strat
Congratulations, Shane! I definitely see a rare effect I called "guitar and player matchinng magic" between you and this strat. Also, very pleasing jam in the end, thank you!
I feel the same way about my 60's shell pink American Original Strat. I cannot find fault with it, and would not change anything given the chance. It is perfect. This from a guy who has been playing @ 50 years and have owned close to 100 strats over the years. This one was the best right out of the box. Fender knocked it out of the park with this series, my next purchase will be this identical 50's strat. Perfection
Graham Hodgson I was trying to find the equivalent of my first strat (first electric )that I had sold when money got tight (2012 sunburst standard series with a rosewood fretboard ) but soon found that being a lefty with poor credit my choices were very limited ... could not find a players or standard in either my original strats specs or with a black body with maple fretboard in left handed ... I was taken With the blue player but held off for months trying to find one of the ones I really gassed (the sunburst a tribute to srv’s #1 ,& the black a tribute to Clapton) eventually I gave in and haven’t looked back yet . This guitar is not only an excellent playing and sounding guitar , I love the look so much I find myself staring at it when it’s out of its case lol
Vic Soboleski The Tidepool colour is stunning. I truly believe this series is the best “standard” MIM yet. There’s nothing to upgrade, they’re ready to roll out of the box. I do know exactly what you mean by falling on hard times, I had to sell my C Shop Strat a few years back for the same reason. Not to worry, I’m well on my way back now. It sounds like you might be getting there too. Best of luck to you, just keep going mate, and stay safe over there.
As you know I'm late to the party with this video because I didn't even know about InTheBlues when you posted this. I'm really ecstatic you found your "Perfect" Fender Stratocaster. I, on the other hand, am a glutton for punishment. I have 8 that I'm not going to part with...well voluntarily anyway. I was so impressed by the bridge cover on yours that I immediately searched to see if they would fit mine. No Such Luck!!! I "Hate" when "that" happens!!! This strat looks Great to me!!! One last comment about the case..."If" I had that case for any of my Strats??? My cats would immediately destroy them. Starting playing in the 60's I am fully aware that the Tweed cases came with the Strats, Jaguars, and Jazzmasters then. But now...I'm pretty much a Molded Case fan. I'm very happy to hear you use the Fender Molded case for gigs!!! (Not a fan of GigBags at All...Actually, I think they are like not even having a case...No matter how "cool" everyone seems to think they are. Like Guitars...It's all a matter of personal preference. What's good for one might not be good for me.) Speaking of Cats...I really enjoyed seeing Gus make an appearance so Gus can make the credits!!! I hope he is still doin' great!!! Thank you for the great video.

“SOFT V”...oh hell yea...i played an eric johnson with a soft V...hands down THE most comfortable neck i have ever played...i wanted that guitar so bad but didnt have $1800 bucks at the time....that white on white is gorgeous...nice job Shane!!!!
I always loved the soft "V" neck shape. So I learned how turn a regular Squire neck ,to a soft "V". It came out great and with my little hands ,is very comfortable.
I bought this exact guitar (right-hand version) last winter, and it is one of the best Strats I've ever played and owned, right up there with Callaham and Lentz. In some ways, it is my favorite of them all because it has that subtle, elusive Fender mojo that only those guys seem to get. Fender really nailed this one. I too feel that this is the last Strat I will be buying for a long time. It took me a while to fall in love with the white on white, but now I love it. Wouldn't change a thing.
So great to have a channel by not only someone who is very informative, very talented and offers great content, but lefty as well. Love seeing all the lefty guitars. Great to be able to watch one of my own kind.
I'm almost jealous. Almost, because I've got a 60th Anniversary Classic Player 50's Strat and I'm still no good at playing guitar. Don't deserve a better one ;-) The guitar looks quite odd, sand colored with golden pickguard, bridge and tuners, but it sounds pretty good! Even in my hands. Have fun with the last Strat you will by for a very long time. I hope to hear it often on the channel.
Just moved to Oz and keen to check out some ozzy guitar players. This guy is GREAT! Lovely phrasing without feeling the need to playing too many notes. Looking forward to checking out his other videos.
I like the white pickguard on the white finish. It’s so cool that you found the guitar that’s the best for you. I’m going to enjoy hearing you play the guitar that inspires. Blues on!
Congratulations on your Strat buy. It looks really amazing and the white on white is really pretty. And it's a Stratocaster!!!!! Way to go :) Thumbs up on your grabbing this one. I never heard of a v-neck, plus it being a leftie, this is a find :) Thumbs up 👍
Thanks for the kind words mate! I hope you're doing well. The Eric Clapton Strat has a bit of a V-neck as well. They aren't as common as the C shape or Modern C shaped necks.
I knew I shouldnt have clicked on this video, as soon as Shane started playing, I liked the sound of this fender! Roasted maple neck is what I want and a caramel or black colour. Thanks Shane! Edited..its been a year since this original comment. I'm finally looking to get a white MIM. AWESOME GUITARS!
This guitar is Gus Approved! 😸 Great looking guitar that we will be seeing and hearing for a long time on the channel! If one of these Original Series ends up in my collection, I know who to blame!🤣🤣🤣 Really happy for you Shane! Cheers!🎸🎸🎸👍🏾🎼🎵🎶
For the longest time I wanted a sunburst Strat, but an opportunity came up for me to swop one of my guitars for Robert Cray signature model. I knew the specs were great but was worried about the signature violet blue colour. Now I’m so glad I went ahead with it, don’t think they used this colour on any other Strat, and I’ve fallen in love with it.
I’ve been lusting for a Fender Strat for a few years now. This video makes me want one all the more. Time to pull the trigger on getting my first Stratocaster.
You can't go wrong with a Strat. I bought my only one, first and last, 25 years ago. I have a lot of other guitars, but nothing else plays and sounds like a Stratocaster. Get one, you'll be glad you did.
I keep the cover on mine to looks sharp I flattened the bridge to the body really helped in tuning stability and it’s my no.1 ..congratulations Shane 👍👍
I did tried one of those, same color, several times in the shop.. Great guitar. Very thick neck, and a more modern radious than I usually go for, but man, they shure sound great. I had already bought a set of those PV 59 before I tried this guitar, and yes, they are awsome, and not to expensive- I've grown out of the boutique stuff because of these, nice and simple, and Fender.. No need to go crazy. . The pickups are great. I own one Japanese 54 reissue, ash, and I put these pv 59 and they truly deliver. - I play semi to professionally and I dint miss a thing in tone. The cap is important and pickup height, but once set it's a joy to play. Cheers. Great buy and great job you do. Cheers
Now thats A strat , miss seeing the ole one now ya have one for life! you always seem more at home with a white strat, let's hope we are all-round long enough to see it age gracefully.!
I'm glad you're happy. That's the whole point of it all. For your _next_ strat...and there _will_ be a next Strat...I encourage you to build your own. Fenders are all parts guitars, and what they call 50's or 60's specs doesn't come close to the variety and options that were available at the time. Nut width was just one official option. But the best option was hungover Ed, who may have leaned a little extra hard, or light, on the sanding wheel. Depending on the day of the week. Pure sonic bliss, from the bottom end of a bottle. Glory days indeed.
You operate that looper pedal like a pro. Could you do a video on how you use it? Like what chords you play on the loop vs the types of scales (and places you can go) on the neck. The loop pedal can take us medium-level players to the next level.
I found my 'final strat' about 7 years ago when I purchased a 2013 Fender Custom Shop Closet Classic Pro (Black/Rosewood). As you mentioned Shane, fatter necks have been difficult to find outside of the Custom Shop series...and that's what I need in a neck profile. My Closet Classic Pro has a rounded C, mid-70s neck profile. Satin finish on the back and fast as hell. Cheers
Congrats! My Fender Lincoln Brewster is *this* maple necked SSS strat for me. Every time I pick it up I fall in love again. A nearly perfect marriage of vintage and modern. Looking for my HSS rosewood model now. :)
Very nice. I never thought I would care for a white guitar, but that is stunningly beautiful. We all look forward to seeing it become a regular on the channel. Enjoy
It´s definitely NOT the last! You love it now, kinda, but seems that you aren´t over-lovin it! I got a MIM Strat, my main guitar, absolutely love it! Gigged with it, recorded with it and... It´s now in storage (for now)... My Tele has taken over. Not gigging at the moment and, playing at lower volumes, the Tele kills it! Find the Strat, at low volumes is lacking something, almost sounds/feels weak!
I don't believe you at all. I know you're gonna get another. It's probably the nicest Strat I've ever seen. Sounds like a Strat for sure. It's all about how much you like it. I still have the only Strat I've ever owned and bought new in 1995. It's nice to get a keeper.
Enjoy the new guitar mate. When you find the one you know it. I’ve had my USA made Roadhouse Strat with Texas specials for 30 years now. Love it. It has the black hard case. I blocked the trek as I never use it. Sounds Devine. Never considered buying another Strat. Hope you get many years out of it.
I really like the Original series. I just got the Eric Johnson Thinline Strat in Antique white. Best Strat I've played. But I gotta be honest with ya, Shane. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard someone say "this is the last guitar/pedal/car/gun/etc. that I'll ever need to buy"... I'd never have to work again. Keep up the great videos. Always look forward to another. Oh, and as always, I'm eager to see the next guitar you buy that you were never gonna buy... 🤣
oh how I hate the plastic on the pickguard, it always gets stuck somewhere and then you need to unscrew something to get it off completely. good choice on the 50s strat!
Something about cats and tweed cases. My cat Brutus loves to chill out on my 57 RI Strat tweed case. The Music Zoo had a special series of Strats called NoNeck Strats, which have the baseball bat Nocaster-style neck you want, but it’s a Custom Shop series and, of course, this is your last Strat!
That’s a beautiful guitar! These AO Series guitars are very much like the AV series preceding them but with a better (for me) fingerboard radius and also an objectively better finish (doesn’t flake off like the AV flash coat). All else is the same quality and parts. To me, these are some of the best guitars Fender has ever put out. I bought the AO 60s Jazzmaster (from Sky ;) ) and was immediately impressed with its unplugged sound, resonance, and vibrations; plugged in there was, of course, no disappointments. It’s the best Fender I’ve ever played, including vintage ones. It has quickly become my favourite Fender. I like them so much that I’m planning to get the AO 60s Jaguar; and possibly the AO 50s Telecaster as well.
I'm happy for you man! When you unpacked, "Hey, that's my Strat!" But mine is late 70's vintage. I've loved it for years. You have great taste in guitars! Enjoy...
I agree. I bought the same model 2 weeks ago. The quality is outstanding. Actually I had bought pro 2 strat prior to that about 4 weeks ago but I had to sent that back(I just couldn't get it in tune properly, and I did not like the overall quality). Then I saw your review and decided to go for 50s original. That guitar really sings(especially with tubescreamer) .The neck was I not used to in the beginning, but now I really like it or like you say: I Dig it))) Probably the nicest guitar I have owned, really. Thank you, man! If it wasn't your channel I would never come to buy this one.
She's beautiful. Mine was on back order for 2 months from sweetwater. The finish on that ash body is something to behold. I have the 60 series Strat and I would sell that in a heartbeat before I got rid of the fifties. My last strat for sure, Well at least that's what I told the old lady.
Funny - I thought you were done with them out of frustration. I am. ...returned two last year and cancelled a third order. A Robert Cray's bridge & neck were so out of alignment the 6th string was off the board past the twelfth; an Eric Johnson had the same problem only with the first string. When I ordered another EJ I asked the store to check the alignment. They said "It's not as bad as some we've seen". ...cancelled the order.
I read Clapton's autobiography. He purchased a proper lefty Strat for Jimi Hendrix but he died before he could give it to him. Jimi bid have a left handed Flying V and I have seen video off him playing it.
I remember when you were talking this way about about your Squier Classic Vibes, then your Mexican Standard. They keep going up in $, so after you tire of this one, maybe you should just skip the Custom Shop relic, and go straight for a pre CBS Strat, and really have done with it.😉 Just kidding, I’m the same way - a Tele guy who went thru several Strats before I found “The one” 😆

I had a JV Strat MIM and it was a great guitar, I liked that neck better than any i ever played. Mine was aged white to kind of cream color, it was so sweet. i had to sell, I love the white strats. Be sure to show us the first nick, cause that one hurts.
I have the same guitar, also the lefty. Super happy with it! I like how the grain shows through the lacquer and how it's already aging (..I play a lot..). And I'm also sure this is the one I'll hang on to forever, as I do play it everyday and the most out of my total of 4 guitars .

the American Original is currently the top-tier Fender.
0:19 - At this point, it was a Fender Cat-ocaster.
Perfection
Man that exit playing had a perfect mix of Mark Knopfler /Eric Clapton tone and style ..... congrats
Thanks, Vic! Those are my two biggest guitar inspirations mate. Even though I can't do the Knopfler thing that well those tones are so iconic! :)
@@intheblues You still need a Schecter, Pensa, and a McInturff then Shane.
Nice. Very nice. The cat I mean. Oh, the guitar too? Yep, she’s a beauty.
I recently got the lefty version of your guitar in your pic ( players strat ?) awesome guitar
Vic Soboleski The player series are excellent value. Congrats, enjoy!
Gus likes "New Guitar Smell" too. 😀😺
Cats and guitar cases - what's that about? Our cat loves 'em as well
As you know I'm late to the party with this video because I didn't even know about InTheBlues when you posted this.
Good morning Shane, it's Father's day here in America, I don't know about your neck of the woods, but have a happy Father's day 💙 😊!
September here Leo!
@@DMSProduktions Damn, I just had a panick session while I googled when is Father's Day here in Australia... I kept reading "it falls on a Sunday"* before finally finding a date... September! Phew!
*Sunday was yesterday in Aus.
@@lueysixty-six7300 LOL! It sounds to me, like you've missed a few years!
Not a strat guy, until now!!! I need a strat!!!
Precaution - My original 60s paint reacts to chemicals like the old fashion strats, so be careful with the type of material that your stand has or anything that comes in contact with the paint. Love yout channel bro
New guitar, a cat, and awesome jams. This video has it all.
Jerry, I'd be interested in hearing about that. My situation, too!
I too feel that this is the last
Strat I will be buying for a long time.
It took me a while to fall in love with the white on white, but now I love it. Wouldn't change a thing.
I bought one as well, but the white has a rose colored tint. Does your strat have a rose colored tint?
@@txarcher3967 No, it is a pure white. Sometimes the ash wood under a white finish can impart a rose tint - my Callaham had that.
“The dreaded neck and middle position”...you mean the place where Mike McCready made my dreams come to life?!
Those are the only positions I use on my Strat. Never once played on the bridge. Way too trebly.
Congratulations on finding "The One". She is a beauty and sounds great.
Glad to see fender didn't bend you over for a lefty model. Nice guitar!
As soon as I saw the tweed case my jealously kicked in 😜
This guitar is Gus Approved!
Just got one and they tick all my boxes as well. Hope they don't stop making them. Brilliant instrument!
I bought one, as well. mine came with a rose colored tint to the white. Does yours have the rose tint?
For the longest time I wanted a sunburst Strat, but an opportunity came up for me to swop one of my guitars for Robert Cray signature model. I knew the specs were great but was worried about the signature violet blue colour. Now I’m so glad I went ahead with it, don’t think they used this colour on any other Strat, and I’ve fallen in love with it.
SWEETWATER is your dealer and your addition is STRAT. Good luck with not getting another one. It's all strat love man!
I knew that they drive in the wrong side in Australia but did not know that the guitars are backwards too ;) What a nice cat.
Happy Father’s Day, Shane!
I’m calling shenanigans on it being your last Strat though 😁
It’s 2022 now. Good thing you got one before they were discontinued.
Been replaced with the vintage II line.
Not a huge Strat fan, but that's a thing of beauty.
White on white looks fabulous. Great sounding strat.
As soon as I saw Gus looking at the case, I thought “Oh no, don’t lit him scratch that beautiful case.”
I too enjoy the pick guard and color scheme of this strat. Sounds amazing 🙌
You operate that looper pedal like a pro. Could you do a video on how you use it? Like what chords you play on the loop vs the types of scales (and places you can go) on the neck. The loop pedal can take us medium-level players to the next level.
Gus!!!! Good man Shane
always great to rescue pets
super tasty jams this one!! must really be vibing with the strat-o. sounded super inspired
So great you found such a cool Strat in a lefty! Good for you Shane! - Micah's dad
Cheers
Lefty Dave here,... I’ve got one, they are a one off and fab... smell good as well😀
This is absolutely an amazing guitar, and it sounds unbelievably great. Congrats on the find!
Enjoy
I'm very happy with my white '87 Fujigen Squier strat that I bought at Music go Round here in Duluth,MN!!
Very nice Fender Shane, also I am giving another thumbs up for Gus being in the video
I don't believe you at all. I know you're gonna get another. It's probably the nicest Strat I've ever seen. Sounds like a Strat for sure. It's all about how much you like it. I still have the only Strat I've ever owned and bought new in 1995. It's nice to get a keeper.
Congrats Shane you lucky fellow lefty. That guitar kicks ass. Happy Father’s Day.🤘
Enjoy the new guitar mate.
I can never get over the "uncanny valley" affect if a lefty guitar.
Lol...”it looks like a real guitar but not quite” 😂😂 RUclips should have an option to play videos in mirror mode, so it will look “right.”
Imagine how a lefty feels in a righty world 😏
Something about cats and tweed cases.
Awesome guitar. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Wish many blessings and years of playing the guitar. Give an extra bit of catnip to the wingman cat.
I initially had my eye on the Aztec gold but it was sold out at my local store, so I ended up with this beautiful white blonde!
I'm happy for you man! When you unpacked, "Hey, that's my Strat!" But mine is late 70's vintage. I've loved it for years. You have great taste in guitars! Enjoy...
Im a lefty too, a 57 spec strat is my perfect guitar equally a 52 telecaster. Absolutely love em!!!
Glad you found one you love so much. I got the 2-color sunburst version of this and couldn’t agree with you more.
SHANE...TEXAS BLUES ALLEY JUST LAUNCHED "VINTAGE BLUES IN 4K" ON YOU TUBE . YOU ARE GONNA LOVE IT!
I have had my eyes on these also. I fell back in love with my main strat yesterday though after installing a set of Lollar Blackface pickups
She's beautiful. Mine was on back order for 2 months from sweetwater. The finish on that ash body is something to behold. I have the 60 series Strat and I would sell that in a heartbeat before I got rid of the fifties. My last strat for sure, Well at least that's what I told the old lady.
Wow, you can just hear that sustain going for days! As a long-time Strat fan, I would love to get my hands on one of these.
The white single ply white pickguard has a clean look that looks great on the ash blonde body/maple fingerboard. Love the look of your Strat.
Wow! She's a stunner and sounds awesome too! Congrats man!
That guitar is stunning !!!! Black scratch plate ? People are mad!!!
Look and sounds great. I built my dream Strat partscaster last year with an American Special body as a template....it's so great. Enjoy yours!!
With a little adjusting ... this is a really good guitar. Of course, Fender had to change back to the 7.25 radius with the American Vintage II.
They keep going up in $, so after you tire of this one, maybe you should just skip the Custom Shop relic, and go straight for a pre CBS Strat, and really have done with it.😉
Just kidding, I’m the same way - a Tele guy who went thru several Strats before I found “The one” 😆
Hahahaha the last until the next one Shane ;). Happy Dad's Day!!
00:23 Cat: "Don't touch MY guitar!!" ;-) ;-)
Shane, playing at the outro may be the best jam I've heard on here. Thanks!
At first I thought you hated that strat and you were done .... but ///I was wrong....sounds amazing !!!!!

THERE'S GUS!!!!! Gus fits perfectly with the Strat :) Great video, thumbs up 👍👍👍
I just got a 60s original tele and, like you, I hope it's my last tele. I feel like it could be,. so I'm looking to you for inspiration. That new Strat of yours sounds unbelievable.
