I'm in Loni's generation (a little older than her). But I agree with Amanda. Problem is, Loni was so stuck on herself that she refused to HEAR Amanda. That came through clear, which then pissed off Amanda even more that Loni was flat out dismissing her without genuinely hearing her point.
She didn’t. Her point was that the word shouldn’t be used. Jewish people made MJ take out the slur whereas these rappers will not do it, even though it would benefit the black community. Loni is saying they should take it out. Amanda is saying no.
I disagree with Amanda here. Majority of rappers and artists these days throw that word around in songs talking about women, money, sex, drugs. So how is she going to say that they’re using the word because they’re “telling their story and black experience”... last time I checked that word had nothing to do with women, money, sex, or drugs. I agree with Loni, throw the whole word away.
@@allthingsauz so if the word is used in a song about degrading women and doing drugs, it's okay to be used, when it was also used back then right before a black person was lynched?
Fernanda Vazquez because the meaning has changed over time unless it’s “er”. It’s used in our community for greetings and in friendly manners unless we’re joking around. It’s not offensive between us. That’s not picking and choosing because we don’t say it to put each other down.
If you're making music and releasing it to the general public and you use the N word, you cannot be insulted if someone sings the words of the song that you wrote back to you. Ridiculous.
@@NanaNaima1 I feel that on such a deep level. Her comments and actions in the past have been past questionable. Hopefully she's grown and proves it on this show!
What I don't understand is, how come that woman says that when rappers use it, they are "sharing their story" if rap songs tend to be obsene and violent (not all of them). I don't think that when a rapper raps about being horny and uses the N word, he is "sharing" the history that comes with the N word. What he/she is doing is cashing in and willingly and knowingly recording these lines for the entire world to consume.
mcmandy086 BECAUSE THE RAPPER IS BLACK AND HE CAN. that is his right. black people took the slur and made it their own. no one else can say it or should want to. it’s not that hard to understand.
I'm with Loni. We just don't NEED to "own" that word. It shouldn't be erased from books etc of the past, but it shouldn't be something that our elders hear from our mouths. Not when they mostly heard it as an attack.
Not ALL Black, African American, or people of color use the “n” word among themselves. This word may be considered a cultural thing to some Black people, but not ALL of them use it.
Amanda is a very smart individual, but I can’t stand her. We just have completely different views. I agree with Loni 💯. Even Oprah said Black ppl should not use it amongst themselves to diminish the use of the word in pop culture. Why do Black ppl want to say it so much if it’s so offensive? And why is it not ok for a non-black person to discuss about race? If Black ppl want inclusivity, it starts with open conversation.
Amanda explained why..... she said black ppl use it to take the derogatory word from the oppressor and use it to express their black experience/turn it into empowerment. So why would we be okay with someone who is not black using it? It’s our empowerment not theirs. Personally I don’t like the word, the word to me = ignorant. But as a black persons I understand the cultural meaning she’s expressing
HairByPierre my question is....why would you want to use that word? Imagine (if you believe) after death you meet your ancestors and are like “my n****a” or “whats up n****a”. Imagine how disgusted and disappointed they would be? This word was used during beatings, lynchings etc.... I just don’t understand why you continue to say it?
Aish, the reason why black people say the word has nothing to do with anybody else, besides blacks, and it does not need to be explained. It is okay for a non-black person to discuss race, just not the black race. This is simply because a non-black person has not lived the black experience. Therefore, they cannot speak on the struggles or the experiences of black people. The black experience is wayyyyy more layered than what a non-black person can observe. Not understand, but observe. If a non-black person understood blacks, they’d also know the origin of the word and would be sensitive to it. And therefore, choose not to use it. I can never understand why non-black races would choose to say one word that could potentially offend someone else. Also, black people are PASSED inclusivity, what we want is equality, which is a difference. Now it seems that non-black people want to be inclusive with blacks, but they are still not invited to say that word.. And lastly, the black community has disowned Oprah, so her opinion on blackness doesn’t even matter. I hope this helps❤️
I feel like loni was trying to say you gotta be the change you if you wanna see a change. like change up the lyrics from that to something else so it doesn’t give anyone a chance to be saying it “accidentally”. idk I fr feel tho i don’t use the word nor do i like it but i feel like i side with loni hard coreee
That is a different conversation though, one which non-black people like Gina Rodriguez play NO part in. People who are not black cannot say the word. Period.
But that doesn't make any sense though because we're not trying to prevent black people from saying it, we're trying to prevent people who aren't black from saying it. We're not trying to ban the word altogether
YTM_ Facade I’m literally looking across the room from several white coworkers who hate my black ass but I don’t care if they wanna rap some lyrics especially if it’s the Fugees Hahahaha. Ain’t nobody trippin. Its people out here trying to get money and eat tonight in these streets
@@yandhi_6382 whether her stupid ass wants to admit she black or not she is 😂 and shes ignorant you want to say the word but dont want to admit that u have black in you. Just stupid
worldoftrowa she was not. black people can say whatever they want. white people are selfish n can’t pause for a second for a song ?!? that’s bullshit. it’s a word that nonblack people shouldnt be saying and that’s on that. if nonblack people have a problem with it then they shouldn’t be listening to music with that word.
I'm good on not saying that word, I'm with Loni though because I really don't like that word but I see what you all are saying about just don't listen. Is it worth it to continue to separate "races" like that though? You can be proud and powerful amoung non black people without creating a sort of black only, for lack of a better word, club of sorts. Before you say I don't understand and judge me for it she clearly said it wasn't for non black people to understand. It is just my opinion. It doesn't matter what people group you come from I love everyone and support everyone to my best ability.
Amanda and Jeanie and Adrienne are obviously very smart. Some people think the more they talk, the smarter they are when they're just talking in circles trying to confuse you while in their minds they search for trigger words like "Michael Jackson". It's like writing an essay with bullshit words but verbally with no research. Loni is a comedian?, so I wonder if she's ever used it in her comedy to express herself, I'll have to youtube deep dive & If so, that would make this conversation pretty hypocritical. Its like Loni considers herself the voice of blackness on the panel but she's pretty ignorant. She's not my spokesperson. She presents confidence but it just isn't genuine. I guess she's trying to prove a point but it's not sharp enough 💁🏽
Loni you were absolutely correct. The word was never meant in the fashion it is used today and too many people are comfortable with it. THat's a problem.!
I feel like only the young ones on this board are having trouble understanding the validity and soundness of Loni’s perspective. This generation is so watered down.
I feel like Jeannie had the most common sense answer to this whole situation. We’re all humans and, for the most part, capable of using our brains so why is it so hard for someone to just not say a word???
100% what Jeannie said! I dont listen to secular music at all any more, but when I did or when I was singing along I never said the word because it just felt wrong and I didn't feel OK with using it even though it was part of the song.
You're the reason why I say common sense is dead. Common sense is not using the word at all. Rapper, black, white etc. Just don't use the word. If it's in the song people are going to go with it. That's common sense.
Loni Love is not here for it lol. She wouldn’t back down. I respect her for that, and I share the same option. Please stop saying the N word. It’s a slur. Not a term of endearment
Im with Lonnie, they want to put it in all the records and in jokes and movies. If you don’t want others to repeat it , don’t put it out there of the world to use it !
100% agree with Lonnie on this one!!!! Stop using it period. I do believe it's too far gone now in the rap industry- But record companies can change this moving forward "if they cared".
Loni can state her opinion on the use of this word without getting told that she doesn't know how to act. I'm so sick of people attacking Loni for no reason and I'm tired of people attacking those who have a differing opinion than the majority.
Just like Adrienne said... If you have to second quess yourself about using a certain word.. That should tell you right there that maybe you shouldn't say it. #commonsenseppl✨
"If we can learn pronouns we can learn not to say the N-Word" --Amanda Seals: Thank you, always wanna make accommodations for EVERYONE except black ppl.
No one else makes music with their derogatory terms in it except black people. Shouldn’t be using it at all because the original meaning isn’t even the same anymore in the songs and white people don’t get it
Lailah Lynn yeah I just think there more important things to worry about. Like Gina in my opinion shouldn’t be canceled because ppl love to choose when and if that offends them. Atleast she’s Latina if she was white it def would not have been okay for me lol
@@CreativelyKia The issue is Gina distance her self from the black community previously and said she does not consider herself black. So if she made it a point to clarify she doesn't identify as black, she needs to make it a point not to say the n word.
Rule of thumb: Don’t say the word if you have the privilege of NOT having to deal with the day-to-day systematic racism and micro aggressions that come along with it.
So why do mixed people say it ? Mixed people don’t see the same type of racism and discrimination that dark skinned people do cause they’re so damn attractive. Being good looking leads to a lot of privilege unfortunately. I mean Amanda and Adriana damn near look like sister yet one can use it and the other can’t ?
I agree with Loni, imagine in like 20 years or something when new young generations comes along and they hear the word they’re not gonna think that it’s bad and can only be said by a specific group of people. It just needs to go away
It does not need to go away. Black people need to stay in touch with our history and the lessons we learned in the past and also understand our artist's use of the word. Again, non-black people who say the words WANT to say the word.
I don't typically use the word, but I completely understand the people who do. It's just understanding that the word means something completely different depending on who says it. It means "black brother" among black folks bc we are all a family, a community who was oppressed together and still face with the aftermath together. It's not inferior among each other, it's empowering by uniting us. Therefore, it's just wrong when someone outside of that community uses it.
Amanda needs to stay on there, I live how she was opposed to Loni lol like finally someone speaks up and I completely side with Amanda! I am Mexican and I know I have no business using that word.
jazzmayne6 point is the N Word still holds the same meaning rather it ends With an A or Er.... Not a term of endearment it’s offensive. Amanda is ignorant and can’t handle the opinions of other people when it comes to ones that don’t match up to hers... I have a feeling she won’t be on there very long
Love these types of debates where there's a difference in opinion, both Loni and Amanda giving strong points and showing passion then when it's all said and done, they agree to disagree then move.
here's my question though, if the word is an offensive word that insults the black man, why do they still have to keep calling themselves that same word that brings back so many historical bad memories?
Same reason a group of females/gay males calling themselves bitch wouldn't be having a straight dude join in. They're not part of the group, not part of the culture
I’m black and I never use the N word. It’s derogatory. Just because we’re using it in a different way in modern days doesn’t mean the true meaning isn’t behind it. I’m also gay and could never use the F word to describe myself or another gay person. I was bullied all throughout high school and now if I hear that word all I hear is hatred
I’m with Loni on this one. Never felt empowered by this word and never will. I feel we are hurting the Black community more than uplifting by this word that was never made to uplift us but target us and belittle us. We should be questioning this word more than anything Period.
When I was a kid, I was able to sing rap songs, not daring to slip out a cuss word in front of my mom or by myself. If you don’t say it on the regular, it’s extremely hard to just let it “slip out”. It’s so simple to just not say it.
She’s a Latina from nyc she had a pass to say it. She probably grow up with that word. The problem was all the previous stuff she said before was anti black.
That's you and not everybody thinks, operates or is as disciplined as you. If it wasn't in the song, especially with the negative feelings about the N word, people wouldn't be able to sing aong with what was said. If you don't want your children/teenager/relatives to see/use/talk about your adult toys, you don't leave them lying around the house.Even though it is your house and you pay the mortgage. Period.
@@JoJo-op5xy 100% FACT. Where is the outrage for Cardi B making a living using the N word??? People made a stink about her using roaches but NOT the N word. If Gina was a rapper, would she get a pass? Irrespective of whether she was Black or not.
Yeah now I wish a lot of black people were so adamant about Actually being respectful to use the proper pronouns as much as they want people to stop using the N word.
But it already has been changed by us who changed it ourselves. To tell someone of that ancestry not to use a powerfully positive term is not okay. If any other race chose to take an offensive slur and make it a word of endearment, who are you or anyone else to say it's not okay to use?
Right but this debate isn’t about what you can do, it’s about what you should do. Who has the permission to say the word? Who should be and who shouldn’t be saying the word?
@@Autumn_Blessings I feel the same way for myself too, and like you said you learn songs without saying it, I would add on I do not sing songs containing such language out loud in public loud spaces either (club/party/bar etc) because people see your lips moving and assume you’re singing all parts of the song.
@@blakesmith4109 I can only control myself not how others perceive me. I don't say it because I don't want to hurt anybody and i understand the history behind it. It's not my word. Not everything is meant for you and that's okay.
Loni wasn’t the biggest culprit at all Amanda was talking over the whole cast the whole topic.. this topic was a mess! Wish it could’ve been better discussed. Amanda got WAY to in her feelings.
But SOME gay men call each other the “F” word but when somebody who isn’t gay says it, it’s rude and derogatory... so saying the “N” word if you’re not black is the same thing. Don’t say it if you’re not in that group.. PERIOD Please don’t miss the key word SOME.. The bigger issue is that the woman in the video specifically recorded herself saying the N word in the song AND has a past of doing/saying some weird things when it pertains to the Black community. So a lot of Black people are going to side eye her and be upset. Please don’t say we shouldn’t say it if that’s something that SOME Blacks choose to do... I don’t think we should reclaim this derogatory word but WE ALL do and say many things a lot of people think we shouldn’t. Thank you, have a blessed day.
Tbh tho im a Latino who lives in NY and my whole life I literally thought it was ok for me to say it 😭 my black friends would say it to me I would say it to my black friends I would say it to my Latino friends I would say it to pretty much all my friends regardless of race and use it in daily convos and like wise for them. There was a point in my life where I had to train myself not to use it but it slips out sometimes cause it’s so imbedded in me lol
Imari Alayah I’m sorry I’m gay and I have never said the “F” word to another person or been called one. Some people use it jokingly but we don’t use it regularly like black people. The most people using the “F” word are straight people because homophobia is still a problem in America just like racism. My friends have told me that I can say the “N” word but I just don’t feel like I have the right to say it either.
I don't really care much for Amanda being on The Real, she is a highly intellectual woman but she can be extremely close-minded at times. I agree with Loni - and why is it that black Americans choose to use a racial slur as a "cultural colloquialism" anyways? I think black or not -- no one should be using the word.
I remember sitting in the living room one night and my dad had a couple of friends over they were playing dominoes. They hadn't seen this one friend for a while he had been away on work to another country. At one point when they were laughing and joking, someone used the N word towards him, and he just sort of smiled and said, "man dont call me that no more" I remembered everyone thinking "wtf" I'm 30 now and can now completely get why he said it.
Yes I'm with Loni, stop using the word point blank. We can't fight racism if words like this still exist where only a certain group can say it. It still creates segregation. We are one race, the human race!
It is way too late for that. Way too many passes given. Even if they stopped using it in songs The usage of that word would still continue in everyday life just as much as before

All anyone ever has to do is get more people to say it to drown out the people who don't want you to say it. Why even bother with it. So rappers are going to acquiesce to the majority that support them than the minority that they are, because that's how capitalism works.
Loni is definitely on to something ... Aside from the artists themselves, the RECORD COMPANIES are profiting off it!! So as a people, we CAN do better. We can elevate our "terms of endearment"
Totally agree with Loni. 100%. We need to take responsibility for what WE put out there. We are selling music to the World with the word 'N----r' in every sentence but irrationally telling the world hey don't repeat what we said in the song because it degrades us and is a racial slur! Whaaaaat?!
Exactly. People in the comment section are saying she's whitewashed but they forget that as an engineer she's a very rational person, this is simply how she processes information. And I have to agree with her. We can't dismiss logic on this topic just because of cultural patterns... is saying the N-word necessary? No. Does it elevate Black people? No. So we can just get rid of it altogether.
To a certain degree I do agree as far as some things in the black community should be strictly kitchen table talk. But even sayong that, there is no excuse for someone to use that word and then turn around and act surprised if it has offended someone ...how assinine.
@@CJ-dg3bm I think we are so selective in our outrage. We had no problem with people singing along to songs that black artists filled with racial slurs yesterday but we're outraged today! That is why people are surprised we are offended.
The same people who say “people of a minority race can’t be racist” are the same people saying “Gina isn’t black so she can’t sing the N word”... so hypocritical. I don’t say that word, and don’t want to say that word, but that pisses me off how hypocritical people can be with issues like this
"People outside that culture don't have to understand it" But you get mad when they don't understand and mad when they use it? You cannot have your cake and eat it too. You cannot keep repeating and over-using it in pop-culture and expect to control so many people from using it. In an ideal world you will be able to have your cake and eat it, but it's not based on reality. Your idealism is taking over your rationality. The Jews don't use their slur to your extreme, so it's a false comparison when they wish to censor it for others.
With Amanda on this one. If 12-year-old can censor themselves to not curse when wrapping lyrics in front of your parents, 32-year-old you can censor yourself to not use the n-word even if it's in a song. I feel like Amanda actually is standing up for what she believes is something that belongs to a particular part of her/our culture and other cultures (as well as those within it who may not agree) don't have the right to tell someone how to maneuver through their own culture. Just disagree and keep it pushin'.
Completely agree! That’s what I always think of. A lot of children and adults will purposely not curse in their parents’ presence because their parents would see it as a form of disrespect. So non-black people should do the same, but you know why they wouldn’t? Because they do not truly respect black people.
Yes! I'm all for calling each other derogatory names 👏 what a great and happy society with all this name calling! You must be proud of yourself 😉 way to go Ashley !
I grew up saying the n-word and I know of many Hispanics that did so as well, not in a racist way but to each other talking. But like Adrienne said if its going to leave a crack open for me to look like a racist I dont want to say it! I dont need to say it!
I'm 41y/o so I grew up in a different time from today, but even then the word was controversial amongst black people.my dad,my family would never use the word.I got fly once and used it at the diner table, lets just say I didn't do it again.but his best friend our pastor would use it all the time.my grandfather was killed by the KKK so our family had a different relationship with the word.
I don't like Amanda at all. I happen to agree with her on this point, but I still don't like her and wish they would stop having her at the table. She isn't bringing a different or new view...she is just there. BYE!
unknown unknown I know, I usually like her but I feel like in these recent segments she just comes across as a know it all speaking above the other ladies, like girl take it down a couple notches lol
I'm with Loni, why continue to use a word that is offensive to your culture and give people the opportunity to have an excuse to use it. There is no good reason to use it, in my opinion. At the end of the day regardless, like Adrienne said if you have to ask yourself if it's ok to say it.. just don't. People act like they don't have enough vocabulary to argue with people. Racist slurs against any culture is stupid and not okay. People need to grow up.. have a better reason not to like someone, their race is not an acceptable one. I don't like hateful people in any color. I choose to be nice and respectful to any human being no matter what they look like, and I choose to dislike people with bad character no matter what they look like. This should be common sense by now. Smh
Riquel Binion Except Jewish people weren’t mad about him not being Jewish and using word, they were mad because they don’t support the word being used by anyone even themselves because it’s degrading. Do you see the difference there?
No.. you missed the point. Jewish people made sure he didn't use that word, because they deemed it offensive and were successful in taking down that song. She is saying black people should do the same
Just get rid of the word, stop using it in music, end of story. If it’s such a sensitive and hurtful word it shouldn’t be used anywhere by anyone. Definitely with Loni on this one!
With Loni's logic those singing along with a song will also feel comfortable calling you one when the situation presents itself. A pass will be used freely and without limitations.
Her point is that the word should not be used anywhere along the spectrum of skin color. That is not to disregard or dismiss the Black experience, which is an issue that direly needs to and should be addressed by all and any party, but to strengthen and further dignify the BIGGER PICTURE OF EQUALITY and essentially live it with dignity. Saying the word should not be used at all does not cancel out the fact that the Black community is and has been treated disproportionately or negate the importance of having these needed conversations about Black rights.

Very interesting discussion, I’m Latino so that word ain’t for me, I understand what it represents but it’s the first time I see black women have very different opinions on it.
Same as a Latino male I don’t use it but it slips sometimes when I’m singing along. Growing up nobody black cares that I said it but once I got educated on it I stopped using it altogether.

いきすちそ to Loni it doesn’t matter how ppl reconfigure the word Bc the base of the word is still there and it’s wrong in her opinion to use any variation of the word.
What tamera and Loni says it's so true, because sometimes people use it as a homie just like the b word and just saying stuff to others mean nothing but it does mean something hurtful.
All I know is that I’m Mexican, grew up in Oakland, and I do not use that word and it’s also not my business, or any other community’s business, how the Black community decides to use it.
The song is like 30 years old, it was a different thing reclaiming the word in the 90s. But seriously we need to retire the word all together. What is the need for it in songs if its not being used for political messages and stuff like that. We use it so freely in our culture that it has lost its meaning to people, and Gina is the effect of it. Remind people of the significance of that word and dont use it so nonchalantly,
Daniella H. We need to stop victim blaming , the problem is non black people using the word when they know damn well they shouldn’t . Black people have every right to use the word
Except these people know the meaning of the word and its reclaimed status. They understand the significance - many of them - and they use it anyway. Its free use in contemporary black culture is due much in part to its use in the 90s and earlier. Exactly who do you think are the people who are saying it and teaching it to their children. The idea that as black people we have to police our culture because other people of other cultures want to emulate ours is ridiculous.
Yes, and honestly even black people use it in a way to talk down to other blacks sometimes. It’s like the word bitch, you could say it to mean your girl friend sometimes, or you could use it to demean someone or describe someone who you feel hate towards. Both words are not always used appropriately.
@@ImJerkBoii Its not about policing our culture its about respecting ourselves. Why are we using it towards each other in a demeaning way? The more we use it nonchalantly towards one and other the more we are deluding the significance of the word.
Loni has away of backing out of supporting topics where other races need to be held accountable. If no one ever said it again the people will still say it in there home. The issue is that people are not held accountable for their actions and that some things that are meant for others may not be meant for them.
brittney brown I think she most likely would have had a problem if she had said it in a different context. But in general there’s no reason for ANYONE to say it it’s not a term of endearment on positive in anyway. And it’s mostly African Americans who day it so much. I’m from England and we (black people) don’t say it here
I noticed that too. But you know she has a white BF, so she's comprimised anyway. Happens all the time, when Black people get in relationships with other races of people, they don't go all that hard for other Black people, or the Black race.
Joanna Aniela I said in some of the segments if you pay attention she against almost all of the black issues they talk about she always saying something negative
That's the thing. 90% of these artists work under major record labels and the money dosn't just go to the artist but also to high ranking white men. But at the end of the day, it's art, and they're allowed to express themselves.
Dee x Yeah? What about biracial people? Will we have to ask about people’s background before allowing them to use the word? The Nazi sign was part of the German history, but it is now banned in the country and the majority of them moved forward. If what you truly want is to be respected, not only by non-black people, but by EVERYONE, banning the N word is a step on the right direction.
It’s not that hard, Don’t say that word, DAMN! Correction: According to some of the comments, I’m speaking of other race do not say it!!!!!!!!!! If I choose to say it, I will and I could. I don’t agree with Lonne. She’s putting it off on rappers, but if I recall, I’ve seen movies , back in the 70’s using the N word.
Loni is wrong on this. Black artists will still use it in music, that will never change. However ONLY black artists should use it, sing it, rap it etc. IF YOU AREN’T BLACK DON’T SAY IT.
Julian Ramirez I never see non blacks like you fight so hard to say a word that literally has nothing to do with you nor has any relevance to you; it’s baffling. It’s also interesting that I never see non blacks strive this hard to say another race’s slur in my life. I’d love to know what is it about this slur that’s been used against black people that makes non blacks so desperately want to say it.
I don’t understand why ppl can’t understand that it’s inappropriate for nonblack ppl to say the word. Just like it’s inappropriate for kid to curse, it’s inappropriate for non black ppl to say it. The concept isn’t hard.

100% agree
@@allthingsauz so if the word is used in a song about degrading women and doing drugs, it's okay to be used, when it was also used back then right before a black person was lynched?
@@allthingsauz I still just find it ironic that the word can be picked and chose when it is derogatory or not with the past story it has.
Ridiculous.

Exactly!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I hate that word!!
I totally agree. Either don't use the word at all, or expect all people to say it, even though it's wrong.
TheDemisemismiles reread my whole statement.

THIS PART!!!!!!!! EXACTLY. If we can call Bruce Jenner SHE, then dude. You can skip the N word in a song out of respect for a culture of people.
Case closed right there!!!
I agree with loni 100%
I understand that the word is hurtful but again people take what others put out. We need to be more aware in general.
@@funkylilmouse Absolutely.
To a certain degree I do agree as far as some things in the black community should be strictly kitchen table talk. But even sayong that, there is no excuse for someone to use that word and then turn around and act surprised if it has offended someone
...how assinine.
I don’t say that word, and don’t want to say that word, but that pisses me off how hypocritical people can be with issues like this
Kate L Gina made sure to distance herself from any African heritage she may have so people just following suit.
"People outside that culture don't have to understand it"
But you get mad when they don't understand and mad when they use it? You cannot have your cake and eat it too. You cannot keep repeating and over-using it in pop-culture and expect to control so many people from using it. In an ideal world you will be able to have your cake and eat it, but it's not based on reality. Your idealism is taking over your rationality. The Jews don't use their slur to your extreme, so it's a false comparison when they wish to censor it for others.
I like how Amanda ruffles our brains, she makes you take many aspects into account. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I like this topic. It’s real. all of those women up there are intelligent and expressed themselves wonderfully
Chance Porter 💯
Tamera contributed nothing to the convo... she asking questions to clarify for white ppl like she couldn’t answer those questions herseld
Except they were all talking over each other!
I don’t like the word at all. I personally think there is no use for the word. But if anyone can say it, it is black people ONLY.
_ImAlwaysAshley but then again those 12 yr olds say it when they alone or with friends just saying
@@lulakeepingithonest9614 right. That's like saying you can say the n word as long as it's not around black people
Kari Guevara I’m so glad you changed your mind. Very mature and most people wouldn’t change much respect !
" if you are unsure if you should be using the word, don't use it at all "
“Just because it’s a lyric doesn’t mean you have to sing it” 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Just because it's a word doesn't mean you have to use it or put it in your records!
Twenty5KDiamond shut up
I'm 41y/o so I grew up in a different time from today, but even then the word was controversial amongst black people.my dad,my family would never use the word.I got fly once and used it at the diner table, lets just say I didn't do it again.but his best friend our pastor would use it all the time.my grandfather was killed by the KKK so our family had a different relationship with the word.
@@deeh8064 Trick you shut up! You don't know me, don't get cussed out!
Than you shouldn't creating peace of shyt music
This discussion got heated... ☕️
The n word usually does
I don't like Amanda at all. I happen to agree with her on this point, but I still don't like her and wish they would stop having her at the table. She isn't bringing a different or new view...she is just there. BYE!
Free Not really.
unknown unknown I know, I usually like her but I feel like in these recent segments she just comes across as a know it all speaking above the other ladies, like girl take it down a couple notches lol
Smh
youre white , don’t speak on black issues.
Your white pls shut the hell up
@@shaytiajohnson8274 well I can say it right friend?
It is not hard to sing along and skip a word in a song
Why do we have to cut the videos into million parts though🤔
WHYYYYY... @thereal... Just do longer videos

People still making money off the n word lol.
Cuz they were cussing
So they can be trending ...which they are
Loni proved the point at the end .. he’s not Jewish he shouldn’t have used it Gina Rodriguez is not black she can’t use the N word it’s that simple
Riquel Binion EXACTLY
Riquel Binion exactly
Riquel Binion Yes
Riquel Binion Except Jewish people weren’t mad about him not being Jewish and using word, they were mad because they don’t support the word being used by anyone even themselves because it’s degrading. Do you see the difference there?
No.. you missed the point. Jewish people made sure he didn't use that word, because they deemed it offensive and were successful in taking down that song. She is saying black people should do the same
Oh Loni ... she reached SOOOOO hard at the end with that MJ reference. I hope she stretched first.
😂😂😂
@@ryanp4396 My goodness, you are superfluous. 🙄
No one should steal, so I do my part by not stealing. Gina Rodriguez should've done her part but because she didn't, here we are.
@@TomikaKelly I'm not defending the actions of the person in this isolated incident... I'm speaking to Loni's point and round out this conversation to address the bigger picture here. It's called having a nuanced perspective. If being open to different ideas is superfluous, then so be it-I'd rather be THAT than shallow-minded and closed off to having a productive conversation, which you clearly aren't interested in having judging from your flippant use of emoji and 'end-of-story' tone.
Very interesting discussion, I’m Latino so that word ain’t for me, I understand what it represents but it’s the first time I see black women have very different opinions on it.
I mean, why wouldn't they have different opinions? Black folks are not a monolith
Same as a Latino male I don’t use it but it slips sometimes when I’m singing along. Growing up nobody black cares that I said it but once I got educated on it I stopped using it altogether.
A woman on the internet
that part.
Baby Latino ain’t a race, is a culture. And pretty much nosostros somos de todo, blancos, negros y nativos. Ellos no entienden eso,
A woman on the internet I agree but usually I see most people have the same opinion. “Don’t say the word if you are not black.” So so ser other opinions, I was surprised, not going to lie. I’m mostly afraid of this conversation.
I can’t believe this is still a conversation.
I get what Loni is saying and coming from; but I agree with Amanda 100%
Jeannie made the most sense to me👌🏼
LONI Said “A, ER, Carry the 1” 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣.
Jonathan Piper II 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t get it
いきすちそ to Loni it doesn’t matter how ppl reconfigure the word Bc the base of the word is still there and it’s wrong in her opinion to use any variation of the word.
That was her comedian coming out 😂😂😂
I saw this right when she said it 🤣
What tamera and Loni says it's so true, because sometimes people use it as a homie just like the b word and just saying stuff to others mean nothing but it does mean something hurtful.
All I know is that I’m Mexican, grew up in Oakland, and I do not use that word and it’s also not my business, or any other community’s business, how the Black community decides to use it.
Latinos been using it California
@@diomondcandie06 Yeah I totally agree.
I’m from England and we (black people) don’t say it here
I’m glad you noticed too.
I noticed that too. But you know she has a white BF, so she's comprimised anyway. Happens all the time, when Black people get in relationships with other races of people, they don't go all that hard for other Black people, or the Black race.

HowE Lee But the Artists choose to go on that ride. That word should be banned to end all this drama over a word.
That's the thing. 90% of these artists work under major record labels and the money dosn't just go to the artist but also to high ranking white men. But at the end of the day, it's art, and they're allowed to express themselves.
Joe Louis Doescher banned for non blacks yes not for black people it was our history and our word to reclaim 😑👋🏽
EXACTLY
It’s not that hard, Don’t say that word, DAMN!
Correction: According to some of the comments, I’m speaking of other race do not say it!!!!!!!!!! If I choose to say it, I will and I could. I don’t agree with Lonne. She’s putting it off on rappers, but if I recall, I’ve seen movies , back in the 70’s using the N word.
Lady Nita THANK YOUUU!! I was just saying this!!
Loni is wrong on this. Black artists will still use it in music, that will never change. However ONLY black artists should use it, sing it, rap it etc. IF YOU AREN’T BLACK DON’T SAY IT.
it's truly so simple!
If I wanna say it, i'm gonna say it. Simple as that
Julian Ramirez I never see non blacks like you fight so hard to say a word that literally has nothing to do with you nor has any relevance to you; it’s baffling.
