Holy Cow! This video is great. I bought an expensive Canon and just use it on "noob" setting. This is the first video that actually explains how settings on your camera work and has helped me a ton. Thank you immensely!
Thank you soooo much! I just got a Canon 600d yesterday and I've been trying to understand this so bad! You made it sooo much simpler! thank you once again.. please keep posting more such videos
I learned something. Thanks! I am getting my new Nikon D5500 in about two days. I will watch this video again. Thanks for taking a time to help those who don't know anything about the basic photography. Can't wait to see more cool videos.
Guam is good still the same lil island, im jus thankful youtube and the internet has so much tutorials on jus about everything. Again thanks for your tutorials. I recommended them to other peeps trying to learn. Give u more props!
Very well done for amateurs. I'm always puzzled what settings to use under certain light conditions, like in night photography if we are to photograph still objects which setting to be used, appreciate if you can she light on this.
Thanks for the video. You did a great job demonstrating the effects of iso, aperture, and shutter speed. But I wished you explained more on what they are and then understanding how to use them would be a lot easier.
great video, definitely helped me understand better as I am new to photography. Can you do another video with more picture examples? like a good iso, shutter speed and aperture to shoot in sunlight, shade, sunset, dark etc?
Pretty cool tutorial man! Helped a lot. THX Just a question. I have a t3i and when its on movie mode i cant change the iso, shutter speed and aperture manually. It says: "this function is not available in auto expo. movie shooting" Hope u can help :)
thank you sharing, I think if you can show us on corner of screen all the adjustments to ISO, shutt. & aper. to see how numbers do change it would be more helpful. Thanks again
What would be the best manual setting for night portraits. Going to Disneyland and want to make sure I can take pics at night for all the shows and such.
Love the video(s)! Just a quick question though, I have a T3i as well, but I swear your body is a little bit bigger than mine, have you modified it? Also, what lens were you using for those final shots? Keep up the great videos!
hi! i want to ask a question, for the first scene with the background pretty exposed, i wonder how i can shoot with for example with both you and the light exposed background clear?
A very unique and creative way of presenting your lecture. kudos. But what exactly is the correct shutter speed for an ISO of 100 and and aperture of f/22? You only gave over exposed photos of low shutter speed.
Hey there , it was pretty explained, i also have question, how to set mic as speaking the one who is shooting his voice was pretty low but your sound was higher it seems like that you have a mic and he don't how to set up a wireless mic with the Nikon d3200 , and can you also explain when you higher iso do you have lower the aperture or higher the aperature and how it works how both goes with each other
Good video. I am a beginner. I think the only advise I can give (as a beginner) is to have the camera man show us what buttons you use on your camera as you are going through your explanations. I am looking at my camera now and feel a tish overwhelmed. BUT, I am glad I watched this. The pieces will fall together for me. :)
Where I get confused is choosing between a faster shutter speed and a more open aperture ( lets say 125 f 8 for a sunset) vs.like 1/60th f 16, same sunset. Which will be a better choice and why?
Hello, Thanks for the video, as recommendation just increase the audio volume. What i want to know is what shutter speed is used at the hollywood movies. Thanks!
With a faster shutter speed you can take fast moving photos and dont have to worry about moving the camera as you hold it as much. A slow shutter speed means you should be using a tripod or stay really still as hand holding the camera can cause blur in your photo.
Auto mode will usually select a faster shutter speed (80-120/1) which gives a jerky twitchy feel to the video. If your SLR has shutter priority video mode, you can try that. The camera will choose ISO and aperture and still give a smooth look. BUT if your shot needs a specific depth of field, your aperture will change based on lighting. It's best to film in manual so you can control it on the fly. For professional shoots, go manual. For home videos, use auto.
hi,,im a begginer..and i bought yesterday a t5i,,i understand what those means, please i want to know what is your normal using of shutter speed ?,i only use my camera for picture for now,,..what is shutter speed for? what is a apecture? what is iso? please help ...thanks
I'm a skateboarder and i film for my crew and lots of times when i edit some of the clips and turn on slow motion the movement is blurry and not clear. What should i do to the ISO, aperture and shutter speed? Please respond. :D
which one is better raw+L OR JUST RAW OR JUST L by the way when i say L i mean curved L AND in metering mode which do beginners use you did this in ur what each function in the canon i think
On all the videos I have watched they explain what it is and what it does, but never shows how to get to those options. What buttons control the shutter and what buttons control the aperture?
I want to try taking some newborn pics ( for a friend) I am a beginner so she knows its a total experiment. What is a really good ISO, Aperture, Shutter speed for indoor portraits or is this something I have to play with once I see what the lighting is at the house. I was thinking of buying lights but since im just a beginner I think I'll wait until im better at it!
Lisette Maldonado Practice makes perfect. Do it next to a window with a nice background it will help with the lighting. Here is a video I shot for a clientruclips.net/video/QEDr6S12nzA/видео.html
i starting photography I'm a beginner i understand very good your video what it means but could you show me whit you camera what bottom do you press i have the canon T3i

It depends on so many things. I need to know what what you are shooting what is the lighting right. he best way to find out is just practice.
I wish I had found this 2 years ago, I was so confused. good video and in simple terms.

@Banfieldism shutter at 30 is best unless you want to shoot video for slow mo then bring your shutter up at least double the frame rate
Do you have a video about shooting jewelry ?????
On all the videos I have watched they explain what it is and what it does, but never shows how to get to those options. What buttons control the shutter and what buttons control the aperture?
So with faster shutter speed you have to be still, so the pics wont cameout blurry?
Superb Video with very good explanation !! cheers !
