I'm a few mins in but that intro made me so nostalgic. The era of the internet where most of us were just clueless and recording cool shit with our shaky cams is something that will never be replicated ever again and I will remember so fondly.
I think we need more videos like that - just sharing cool things we've done or found without any care for views, sponsorships, clickbait, etc. The time when that was the norm was peak RUclips in my eyes.
I miss the old era of RUclips when more people had their own styles and types of content. Not that there isn’t anymore but it has become more one note since the algorithm only seems to pick up on certain things. This is one of the only channels I follow that hasn’t been extremely changed with the times which is why I enjoy it so much. ❤️

Only a minute in but gosh I miss abenzio's videos. They always had such an adorable and excited feeling. I remember one reaction video where he had found a shiny while on a car ride and he had his grandmother talk about how much he loved shinies and she sounded so happy for him. When I think about how I used to show my pokemon to my mom I think about that vid too!

This is such a genuine time capsule. The older footage combined with the current narration brings a really genuine vibe to all this, and a video like this really highlights what I think is the specialty of this channel. For me, the easyness of shinies in gen 9 is what got me to start shiny hunting, and now ive snowballed into doing a few full odds hunts. I did a fossil hunt on lets go (784 with it ending up as Kabuto) and im currently doing a badge quest on Sword, looking for my first member on route 2. Shiny hunting has changed me in some ways, and i dont regret a thing about it
Watching all this legacy footage of the past is so nostalgic. All the bits of gameplay out on a walk with the sun glaring on your DS, the White 2 random team challenge making a small appearance really makes me appreciate all the effort and hard work you've done to grow your channel over the decade.

Absol this video is really good, it seems like a logistical nightmare to somehow make all of that old footage work in a video like this. I think it highlights why I like your videos so much, they really capture the charm of the old internet and RUclips, but only the positives. Aw man, HGSS shiny badge quests are the most fun ones to watch imo. Eventually ended up doing one myself on Heart Gold a few years back and had a blast. Totodile, Mareep, Spearow, Hoothoot, Ekans, Geodude, Gloom, and Swinub for the main badges, and SR'd for Ho-Oh before the Elite 4 for fun too. This video was a nostalgic blast, love it.

there's something bittersweet looking at the past, seeing the old bits you made with your friends makes me look back at what i was doing 10 years ago as a 14 year old. i would bring my DS outside with my friends and we'd play together, and then we'd make up our own pokemon stories and act them out in my backyard. simpler times. thanks for sharing Matt!
