One thing to remember is Pokémon are measured the same way animals are! That is, their primary measurement is typically whichever dimension is most relevant to their overall size. A common irl example is how wild cats are measured: most big cats are around 3’ or so at the shoulder, so it’s more useful to measure individuals from nose to tail. That’s how you get the statistic that lions can measure up to 10ft(long) Dunsparce isn’t 4’11” TALL, it’s 4’11” LONG. That’s also how you get a 6’ furret that stands around 3 or 4 feet tall on its hind legs.
The sizes are still wonky though. Golbat is not as tall as Charizard. And Charizard is definitely taller than whatever height is listed. And it can’t be its wingspan…in nature, vertebrates need wings roughly the length of their body to be able to fly, give or take. Like not an exact measurement, but that would be roughly the same as its height.

I'm fairly sure that the Raichu dex entry is also reference to the 1903 Coney Island amusement park film wherein an elephant was electrocuted for supposedly being a "bad" elephant.
Enjoying the video quite a bit, even if I'm late to the party! One VERY SMALL potential note on Weedle: It is capable of knowing more than three moves! In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, in addition to its three level up moves, it can apparently learn Electroweb by Move Tutor!
it wouldn't really make sense for Rillaboom to learn Belly Drum anyway, because having a drum means it doesn't have to use itself as a drum, as Belly Drum would imply.
A lot of dex entries in gen one remind me of the old concept for pokemon being basically just a messed up world where pokemon just started to spawn into our world one day Crazy to see how they are slowly managed to course correct from that original concept with only the old dex entries being our single reminder
Ting-Lu had it's HP and Def lowered. It had it's Sp. Atk raised however, and is still the only one of the ruins pokemon which had their stat raised. Ogerpon is not the only one who can't have it's Tera type changed. This distinction is shared with Terapagos.
Fun fact about the Tera type changing actually, Ogrepon is hard-coded to not be able to change the Tera type because the game will literally crash if you attempt a battle without it being the correct Tera type. The game will chug, but will not crash, if you change Terapagos's Tera type. Therefore, Ogrepon being the only Pokemon hard-coded to not be able to change its Tera type is technically correct
I think the Meditite thing might be explained by a fact: A region where a pokemon is first introduced is not necessarily where that pokemon ORIGINATED in-universe. Corpish is one example you give, but Coperajah is first seen in Galar, but its explicitly not from there. Same for Quaquaval and Paldea. Meditite might have been introduced in Hoen, but it could be native to Sinoh/Hisui originally.
@@tritone2276I hope if they do an Indian region they don't cram the whole country into it. It's far too big a country for that. Same with China and Australia and Brazil and other very large nations people want to see in games.

1:56:55 For those that don’t know, Cufant’s name as the Copperderm Pokémon is referring to pachyderms, meaning “thick skin”. These include elephants, rhinos, and hippos. Another fact: The “Cu” in Cufant doesn’t come from “cute” (though it is). It instead from Cu, which is the chemical symbol for copper on the periodic table.
While Mega Altaria shares no typing with its pre-evo, its, ability, Pixilate, means it can still take advatange of the normal moves it learned as a Swablu, who now become fairy type moves.
Zygarde fact is actually false. Terapagos can also increase its max HP when terestallizing as the Stellar form has a base HP of 160 as opposed to its usual 95 in the normal battle form.
Don't quote me. But I believe you could get the Porygon 2's name back with the number, if you go to the Name Rater, delete all the characters, and just press "End" and the nicknames erase and just go back to their original Pokemon names.

bonus fact about pyukumuku: in ultra sun and ultra moon, there's a pyukumuku on big wave beach named pyunch that you can interact with, play peekaboo with, and pet. there are a bunch of pokemon you can play with in the game including a rockruff named rocky, a sandygast named starchy, a magnemite named henry, a corsola named magic hands, sevenjabug from the electric trial challenge, and a miltank fittingly named whitney, but i specifically mention the pyukumuku because i spent half an hour playing with pyunch in my most recent ultra sun playthrough and it's now my third favourite pokemon of all time.

Pretty sure Kakuna moves its arms in the animations for Stadium. I’m remembering a little “jump and spin” it will do for some attacks and it will move its arms during that. I think this is because Kakuna is more of a nymph and than a bug in a cocoon. I know bee drill is a big bee/wasp, but compare to the life cycle of a dragonfly. 27:51 Fun fact, but I have Shadow Quagsire registered in my Pokedex in Pokemon Go, and I can confirm its eyes ARE red, it's just that its eyes are small, making it difficult to notice at a glance!
an interesting fact about Psyduck: Is the ONLY Pokémon to be obtained in every single region (Since you can have the DLC for Sw/Sh and it has Psyduck in it, it counts. It's also in BW2.)
50:33 Another fact about this: The move Earthquake wasn't used in the anime for a number of years after that. Not sure of that is true anymore, but that's what I remembered. Feel free to correct me if you see this comment.
Here are some other facts; Eevee is also the only non-grass type that can evolve with a leaf stone 🍃 Munna's HP stat is its highest stat. sandile shares its base stat total of 292 with munna. Mimikyu and Flutter Mane are the only Ghost/Fairy pokemon Sylveon has the lowest speed stat out of all the Eeveelutions Landorus, Rookidee, and Corvisquire are the only pure flying type pokemon. I'm fairly sure that the Raichu dex entry is also reference to the 1903 Coney Island amusement park film wherein an elephant was electrocuted for supposedly being a "bad" elephant.
Thank you for not saying And number ____. OVER and over again
6:57 For Oddish, it seems that Bill's Grandfather came across a shiny at full odds!!
same, but it was in poketwo
This must had taken a lot of work and research. Great vid, thanks!
it wouldn't really make sense for Rillaboom to learn Belly Drum anyway, because having a drum means it doesn't have to use itself as a drum, as Belly Drum would imply.
I assume it was done so it wouldnt dominate the scene. Belly Drum as is already busted as is, so they probably didnt give it to rilaboom for balance
@@sigmatheta9399 U-Turn: Yeah... dominance... 😏
@@sigmatheta9399
The wildly varying stat totals and inherently stronger and weaker types in matchups already mean the games aren't balanced...
A lot of dex entries in gen one remind me of the old concept for pokemon being basically just a messed up world where pokemon just started to spawn into our world one day
Crazy to see how they are slowly managed to course correct from that original concept with only the old dex entries being our single reminder
Why did you mention my mom's weight twice in this video
BURRRRRN
I see you missed the third mama joke.
@@AyoCrunchylemme guess, guzzlord?
@@American_Lobstercould also be miltank
Ting-Lu had it's HP and Def lowered. It had it's Sp. Atk raised however, and is still the only one of the ruins pokemon which had their stat raised.
Ogerpon is not the only one who can't have it's Tera type changed. This distinction is shared with Terapagos.
Fun fact about the Tera type changing actually, Ogrepon is hard-coded to not be able to change the Tera type because the game will literally crash if you attempt a battle without it being the correct Tera type. The game will chug, but will not crash, if you change Terapagos's Tera type. Therefore, Ogrepon being the only Pokemon hard-coded to not be able to change its Tera type is technically correct
the tragedy of games no longer just going along with trying to render invalid data
ogerpon with gen1 style glitch masks...
The your mom joke is so perfectly and tastefully placed 😂 Made me crack up great job on the vid!
It caught me so off guard. I’m laying down and I hear it I was like “Oop” 😲
i definitely was not expecting it thaaaat far into the video, thats amazing
Need the sound clip 😂
@@kennybmusic67 55:44
cracked me up too! it almost made me spit out my hot chocolate LOL
Thanks!
Thank you!
Gengar: I'm the easiest Pokémon to draw
Electrode: am I a joke to you?
Mr. Mime: Thumbs are not fingers.
Electabuzz: Oops, actually they are.
I was worried and relieved for the vaporeon one
I think the Meditite thing might be explained by a fact:
A region where a pokemon is first introduced is not necessarily where that pokemon ORIGINATED in-universe.
Corpish is one example you give, but Coperajah is first seen in Galar, but its explicitly not from there. Same for Quaquaval and Paldea.
Meditite might have been introduced in Hoen, but it could be native to Sinoh/Hisui originally.
Makes me wonder if they'll make a region based on India one day to have Copperajah native to it. Maybe even give it a regional variant.
moral of the story: pokedex entries are not meant to be taken seriously
@@tritone2276I hope if they do an Indian region they don't cram the whole country into it. It's far too big a country for that. Same with China and Australia and Brazil and other very large nations people want to see in games.
@@BJGvideos ahh yes but doing it with America is fine
@@mitcheldec8644 The US alone has three regions--Orre, Unova, and Alola--and there's gobs of room for more so idk what you're talking about
Blastoise wasn't originally part of the Squirtle evolution line, but they dropped the other turtle line very early and put Blastoise into the Squirtle line.
1:33:45 THE CUTE BUTTERFLY IS THE #666th POKEMON?!?!?!
22:14 for the ledyba entrie the explanation is that beta versions of ledyba had stars on its back
What a LEGEND! I can only imagine how long this video took to make. Instant like from me!👍😁
A few were already uploaded as their own video it was just the last couple of generations I had to add plus a few revisions on some facts that were wrong or needed to be explained better
@@PaPaSea Still had to take you a while! I enjoy the quality of you videos (Especially the Nintended Series)
1:37:09 I was not expecting a roast 💀💀
Mega Kick wasn’t even a signature move for Hitmonlee in Gen 1. It was a TM and could be taught to most of the Gen 1 Pokémon.
“Your mother”
Thought we wouldn’t notice huh lol
1:49:58 Grookey doesn't evolve at all in the anime. You're probably thinking about the episode where it meets its evolutions.
...Grookey took god knows how many episodes to actually use a named attack though lol
at 7:25 u mention poison being super effective against bug in older generations, but then mistakenly say paras and parasect are quadruple weak to bug, fire and flying. I'm sure you meant to say poison, fire and flying! haha, great video anyways :)
Rhinos and hippos are not pachyderms
The reason blastois isnt the big turtle pokemon is bc it was going to be its pwn pokemon and was changed to the final starter
49:49 has me dying when you called Swablu Wallot not sure why
16:06 Mr. Mime fact was wrong according to the sprites..I had to rewind back to make sure I didn’t hear it wrong lol
I believe they're excluding the thumb here; when saying "fingers".
As Mr.Mime does go from 3 fingers and a thumb, to 4 fingers and a thumb.
While Mega Altaria shares no typing with its pre-evo, its, ability, Pixilate, means it can still take advatange of the normal moves it learned as a Swablu, who now become fairy type moves.
There is no way that Gengar is the easiest pokemon to draw when Voltorb exists.
Dog in French is "chien", not "dog but with a French accent" 😂😭
Wait what?! My whole life has been a lie
Zygarde fact is actually false. Terapagos can also increase its max HP when terestallizing as the Stellar form has a base HP of 160 as opposed to its usual 95 in the normal battle form.
Imagine how much better Flygon would be if it had Sheer Force
alomomola is also the first 5th gen pokemon ash sees in the bw anime. (not counting other shows)
We were ROBBED of Let’s Go Psyduck.
I don’t wanna think of a world with Let’s Go Psyduck 😖
If let's go psyduck actually released instead of eevee I would be so mad
47:47 Wailord
true!
Just in time for my sleep 😴 will listen to this for a few days during my sleep.
You are so real for that

1:31:35 Bulbasaur is a frog... Which is an amphibian. ☝️🤓
i normally have the attention span of usually a minute but i sat here, and watched from 0:00 to 2:12:04 undistracted. My attention span has GROWN.
Don't quote me. But I believe you could get the Porygon 2's name back with the number, if you go to the Name Rater, delete all the characters, and just press "End" and the nicknames erase and just go back to their original Pokemon names.
16:07, there are four in this sprite.
And the next one has five.
16:32, five accurate fingers.
Ladybugs are beetles. They are in the order Coleoptera.
12:30 Pecharunt is also Poison/Ghost
Love that you referenced the pokepark series.( Which i wish would return. ao much potential along with mystery dungeon) Here's another fact about Golurk: It can transform into a cannon as seen in Pokepark 2.
Golurk can also fly by tucking in its legs into its body along with its' fists.
20:47 as someone with a name that starts with Q, thank you Jeff. It meant a lot to me growing up that there was a Pokémon who’s name shared with Q as well. Little things like that are important to kids!
So Gastly fact is now technically false there's a new Epilogue story coming on the 11th of January revolving around a new mythical, "Pecharunt" It is Poison/Ghost.
Time makes fools of all men
Cradily's is false for the same reason with Ogerpon Cornerstone also being Grass/Rock which was already released, but maybe they didn't count it since it's a form not its base
@@ViPxRampageXx Permutations exist for both of those. Gastly line is Ghost/Poison, while Pecharun is Poison/Ghost. Lileep line is Rock/Grass, while Ogerpon Cornerstone Mask is Grass/Rock.

INSANE. how did you decide on what facts and how long did it take you to get some of these weird ones lol. I'm watching all the way through just because your dedicated. 😂
bonus fact about pyukumuku: in ultra sun and ultra moon, there's a pyukumuku on big wave beach named pyunch that you can interact with, play peekaboo with, and pet. there are a bunch of pokemon you can play with in the game including a rockruff named rocky, a sandygast named starchy, a magnemite named henry, a corsola named magic hands, sevenjabug from the electric trial challenge, and a miltank fittingly named whitney, but i specifically mention the pyukumuku because i spent half an hour playing with pyunch in my most recent ultra sun playthrough and it's now my third favourite pokemon of all time.
Actually, Pecharunt is also a Ghost/posion type, not just gaslty and evolutions
Same thing happened with Munkidori and Galarian Slowbro/king. This video was released before the Mochi Mayhem thing tho
Pecharunt is Poison/Ghost, not Ghost/Poison
Also it was only the first cubone that wore its mother's skull.
That first cubone evolved genes to cause all subsequent cubone to grow an outer skull.
1:05:10 heres another fact for ya;
spritomb with wonder guard can actually be hit with one move despite having no weaknesses. Fire punch i believe is what can hit it.
And battle frontier ai will actually play around this and adapt to bring pokemon with fire punch.
Wait how can it be hit by fire punch?
@@Rainfire-forgets-to-animateDue to a programming error, though this is only applicable in Gen 4.
This error is not possible to find normally. Shedninja, the only Pokemon to have wonder guard without hacks, is weak to fire type moves.
Don't think I'm just gonna ignore that fact about mega metagross
Pretty sure Kakuna moves its arms in the animations for Stadium.
I’m remembering a little “jump and spin” it will do for some attacks and it will move its arms during that.
I think this is because Kakuna is more of a nymph and than a bug in a cocoon. I know bee drill is a big bee/wasp, but compare to the life cycle of a dragonfly.
I think that Pokémon heights are wonky AF. There is no way that Golduck is the same height as Charizard.
Actually, they gave Dawn/Lucas hats to ALL 3 Sinnoh starters in Go, not just Piplup.
13:54 fun fact after a recent event is was also discovered that they also used and executor while debugging X/Y
Celebi IS in the gen 3 pokerap... however Zigzagoon is not.
And Mew isn't in the Gen 1 Pokerap. I believe it was added in the Gen 3 one.
@@SonicLink1622Mew is in the Japanese one! And it's blurted out at the last second with the sound of a toilet flushing. I'm not sure if this is to emphasize anything or not.
1:25:06 iirc in pokepark 2 reuniclus was like a scientist, hence why they mention the experiments, galvantula might be just fed up of helping them idk
Gastly: I'm the only Ghost/Poison-type
Pecharunt: Imma end this man's whole career
Pecharunt also ruined the fact for Zarude.
27:51 Fun fact, but I have Shadow Quagsire registered in my Pokedex in Pokemon Go, and I can confirm its eyes ARE red, it's just that its eyes are small, making it difficult to notice at a glance!
1 fact about Pecharunt: M O C H I!
1:47:43 cosmoem weighs 999 kg not 999 lbs I feel like most people know this I just wanted to correct it for the few people that didn’t know
Ghastly and it's evolutions are no longer the only Ghost and Poison type pokemon.
Technically, if you want to get pedantic about it, they still are. Pecharunt is Poison/Ghost, not Ghost/Poison.
18:30 fun fact: this is somewhat contradictory to ammonites, as it’s believed that ammonites died through suffocation by their own shells.
an interesting fact about Psyduck: Is the ONLY Pokémon to be obtained in every single region (Since you can have the DLC for Sw/Sh and it has Psyduck in it, it counts. It's also in BW2.)
50:33 Another fact about this: The move Earthquake wasn't used in the anime for a number of years after that. Not sure of that is true anymore, but that's what I remembered. Feel free to correct me if you see this comment.
Fun fact: The new mythical (I'll just say dokutaro) is actually Poison/Ghost type
Here are some other facts;
Eevee is also the only non-grass type that can evolve with a leaf stone 🍃
Munna's HP stat is its highest stat.
sandile shares its base stat total of 292 with munna.
Mimikyu and Flutter Mane are the only Ghost/Fairy pokemon
Sylveon has the lowest speed stat out of all the Eeveelutions
Landorus, Rookidee, and Corvisquire are the only pure flying type pokemon.
Ash's Quilava as a cyndaquil took the longest to evolve out of all his pokemon who evolved, at a whopping 507 episodes.
Landorus? Do you mean tornadus?
