    Very interesting to me that they used a 23 KTM INSTEAD OF A 24… Unless, for some reason they put the previous years plastics on it that is definitely a 2023 as the new bikes have a lot more purple and less lettering on the shrouds. The difference are negligible but it is an interesting observation.

    • @cyclenews
      @cyclenews  9 месяцев назад +2

      That is a great observation. We believe its just the shroud and possibly a mistake from the KTM techs. Obviously we ride whatever they bring us.

      Same bike as last year.
      Zero changes except ugly new graphics and no orange frame.

    Thanks for a great 250cc test, but now is there anyway you can test the new 2024 Triumph 250cc against the results of all these?

    @1MarkBevans 9 месяцев назад +2

    Also forgot the Triumph 250, Triumph seemly says it’s ready for sale. Look forward to hear about it 👍

      As far as we know, bikes are not available yet. Believe they're available come spring of '24.

    I feel like if you were wide open the entire time on the ktm it'll gap the Yamaha easily

    Be very interesting to see how a Stark set at 48 HP compared to all the BNG bikes (except for Yamaha and Triumph)

    • @cyclenews

      That's actually a very interesting idea.

    ? Moto-Cross Action magazine rated the Yamaha in 4th place. Cycle News rated it in 1st place. I will age myself. In 1978 Cycle News did a shootout on the Yamaha YZ250 vs Honda CR250. Cycle News said to buy the Yamaha. I did, it was not even close to the Honda. To this day the 1978 Honda CR250 is a top pick in the vintage races.

      To be fair moto cross action is always Austrian bias

    • @jdc9128
      @jdc9128 7 месяцев назад

      I actually own the bike and can confirm it's all low and mid ! I've just changed over from a 2022 kxf 250 and that bike revved wayyy further

    Good reviews......wish you had a couple of real old guys in your ratings. I'm thinking Husky would be best for me...not my bank account tho.

    I'm sorry , but you can't call it a proper shootout if you don't have the TF250X in there too

      All new Triumph 250F looks awesome. 48hp (to crank) which is best in class as well as lightest in class. #unbeatable

    If you’re heavier than 175 I assume the crf250r front fork is fine? That’s the only knock I’ve heard on it and it’s all from smaller guys?

    What bike would you recommend for a 160 pound 16 year old coming off a supermini? Only for track and I’m definitely not crazy fast, just want a cool fun 250?

    • @Davido50
      @Davido50 6 месяцев назад +1

      KTM 250SXF by far. Just be good about basic maintenance (like any machine). 4-strokes need oil /filter changes every 10hrs or LESS. Air filter is crucial as well ..just like 2-strokes. Fresh quality fuels always! Maxima sells pre-oiled filters ready to go! Have a few on standby. -NY

      @@Davido50 I’m thinking the husky 250 is the way to go because I’m shorter and the how he describes less aggressive power delivery might be nice?
