Very surprising to see my car in this vid multiple times. 4:30, 5:30, (was owned by previous owner then) and 8:30. Love these cars and dont see myself letting mine go
Sadly, the same can be said for far too many other cars as well these days. The pandemic has had such a major impact on the prices for so many different things, not just S2000's. Though I've owned mine for less than 5 years, its value has nearly doubled in that time. While this is partly due to mine being white and all original, it's largely due to the pandemic. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see prices dropping to some degree if we can ever manage to get past COVID-19. Hang on to your money if you can bear to do so as many things will change post-pandemic.
I’m on my fifth S2000. Been in much faster cars. Still something about it that keeps bringing me back to it. I guess it’s the sheer, no compromises simplicity. I don’t care about going fast. Took it to the “Tail of the dragon” this year. And that is where this car really feels in it’s element. Its not a poser or a wanna be. It imbues the very DNA of what a true sports car is and should be.
What's wrong with you? Why do you keep buying and reselling the same car? Do you have ADD and get bored of it in 6 months to just go right back 6 months later? If you like it that much to have purchased an s2k 5 times, stop selling them! lol

@@FitmentIndustries The ICE has provided me with so much enjoyment, via 2 wheels and 4, over the 50 years that I've been riding and driving (including a S2000 currently). But I honestly don't envision this technology lasting beyond 2050. Governments wouldn't even have to ban the ICE as they could simply drive up prices/taxes on fossil fuels to the point where nobody would pay them while making gas stations so hard to find it wouldn't be worth the trouble. Reading up on the Net Zero movement around the globe has been a real eye opener.
@@FitmentIndustries You guys could possibly get a lot of the other popular tuner channels to help fund it together with crowd funding and next thing you know, a fan dedicated Need for Speed, Forza Horizon rival but with tons of customization
After reading the forums for few years I understood why everyone thinks transmission is made of glass. Most people think they are smarter than Honda ingeneers and put all kind of oils way different than manual says. I was on track with my stock one few times, touge, going for top speed, doing starts from 4k rpms and rev it up to 9k pretty often. Still like new . 75w90 LS Motul gear in the diff and MTF3 in the gearbox. Changed periodically.
i think they mistakenly said transmission instead of differential, ap1 differential are pretty weak under HEAVY abuse, but thats to be expected, the ap1 differential is great in itself theres nothing bad about these cars … theyre perfected engineering
On my second AP1 now (hopefully keeping for life) - I think the original is perfect for what it was meant to be. The F22C seemed like just an afterthought/compromise mainly for Americans who wanted the car to be something it just wasn't designed to be and although still fun I've driven several and they feel kind of soft and neutered compared to the original. If they want to make a more America-centric convertible I think a V6 or factory turbo would have been better routes. If they want to release a new S convertible, really hope they keep it manual transmission and RWD. It was never supposed to be a speed demon or drag racer, so honestly for the time 240 crank HP was plenty enough to get an unskilled driver in trouble.
I’m late to the party lol this just showed up in my algorithm, but as an ap2 owner I agree 100% !!! However, lowering springs! Clutch delay valve delete, and a k&n filter with the uk airbox mod and it’s much much more enjoyable to drive. Granted, there’s nothing quite like those high rpm ap1’s, but with a little bit of tinkering, the ap2’s aren’t great! But they’re all great to me lol I’m a fanboy 😅
@@jrelyea828 for sure, an AP2 is still way better than no S2000! I just remember the one stock AP2 I test drove and it wasn't my cup of tea vs an AP1. Definitely easier to have as an only car for daily driving, but losing that extra 1000 rpm over Civics/Integras of the day, having to shift into 3rd gear to hit 60mph and the softer suspension and clutch just felt like it was a little bit neutered compared to the raw screaming twitchiness of the original. IMO the best 'stock' ish S2000 would be probably an 03 AP1 but with AP2 wheels and rear sway bar.

I remember as a little kid in the late 2000s and early 2010s looking at images of this car in magazines alot😔😔😔😔
Very surprising to see my car in this vid multiple times. 4:30, 5:30, (was owned by previous owner then) and 8:30. Love these cars and dont see myself letting mine go
Worked at a dealership and the owner had an ap1 that was one of the first few hundred sold
S2K AP1 is the best. I miss mine more than any car I have owned.
@1:51 me 😭😭😭😭 every xmas even as a 21yr old
You can hear engine and exhaust way better with the top down. Really great when you redline.
This man is the reason I subscribed. Great content bro
Thanks for the support brotha 👊
Honda s2000 is like a RWD prelude
Would have been nice if the S2000 were still much more affordable today when I finally have the money but here we are haha
Damn, Alex making the intro into a "When, When you, When you, When, Whennnn" intro
😂😂
Is it just me or does anybody else go back to the intro because they got such a perfect song for it?
I’m on my fifth S2000. Been in much faster cars. Still something about it that keeps bringing me back to it. I guess it’s the sheer, no compromises simplicity. I don’t care about going fast. Took it to the “Tail of the dragon” this year. And that is where this car really feels in it’s element. Its not a poser or a wanna be. It imbues the very DNA of what a true sports car is and should be.
What's wrong with you? Why do you keep buying and reselling the same car? Do you have ADD and get bored of it in 6 months to just go right back 6 months later? If you like it that much to have purchased an s2k 5 times, stop selling them! lol
What’s good fitment for MR2
when i saw one at a dealership backroom along with a 996 targa, i was geeking out. i finally sat in it and IT. WAS. TIGHT. the mr2 spyder and cayman/boxster felt more spacious than this and when i sat in the passenger side, my knees were on the dashboard, and im 5 foot 9 and the seat was all the way back. i really hate to say this but i rather daily a c5 or a solstice/sky than this thing, unless i loose a few pounds then ill reconsider. i pray the same doesnt go for the nsx
Didn't see that one coming.
Ap1 forever. Love my s2000
Will never sell my s2k!!
Man I really want one of these!
My question is why are car guys so cringe. I like cars don’t get me wrong but never make my so ugly to a point where I can’t drive it.
🤷♂️
what happen to viper please
Picked my up a couple months ago and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Most fun I’ve had in a car in a while.
How many miles and what price? I’m lookin to buy one in a couple of years but I don’t wanna pay $20k+ for a 150k miles s2k
@@TeoPooks got my 160k mile 2001 with panel rust for 8500 but it was originally posted for 12k. You can expect to pay anywhere from 12-18k for a decent one but anything past 20k is mint condition.
@@TeoPooks I payed 20k for mine perfect interior no rust no accidents with the whole front end not matching vins 4months ago , the price will only go up
@@bruhmoment1493 tbh 8500k isn’t bad for 160XXX miles. The people in my area are selling theirs for 14-18k for that much miles even if it has 200k miles too. Sucks bc the s2000 is becoming more of a collectible and regardless of miles they wanna set the price high
@@TeoPooks came with a spare set of wheels and tires as well
What happend to the Honda Element
So glad that i finally picked up an s2000 after 4 years of wanting one! So in love with the car!
Do a what happened to the Impreza coupe?
This car is absolutely gorgeous! I feel like as more and more years pass the option for sports cars becomes narrower, its difficult to find a car with a manual transmission, besides the Si, Honda has pretty much neglected the sports scene, most cars I admired growing up aren't being made anymore...
I hope one day they make another spot coupe like the S2K again, would be nice to have a variety! -Edgar
I do gotta say the new Integra makes me appreciate the RSX more
DAMN YALL SPELLED MY NAME WRONG 4:08 :( LOL jk its all good
Just got my 20th anniversary bumper painted and its waiting for me to pick it up. Cant wait till my wheels get here so I can take my S out for a spin again and film it again!
Ope 😅 Make sure you tag us when you post the new setup so we can see it 🔥
@@FitmentIndustries definitely will! Hopefully its not too long from now LOL
What is the name of the wheel on the right of your head, the black one?
Can u make a video about Hyundai Tiburon?
what a good price range for purchasing a s2000 in mint condition from an old person . this 65 year old guy has one here on the Big Island of Hawaii..
I've had people leave notes under my wipers asking me if they could by it, that's how awesome it is. Ultimately, it just doesn't have modern day power numbers, that is its biggest drawback. Also, if you're over 6' and 150lbs, you're probably not going to fit well inside it.
you're right. im 5 foot 9 and weight 250lbs and shes tight but not nb miata tight. the boxster/cayman on the other hand has a lot more room to move around in. if im desperate, ill just settle with a na miata
Some well deserved shade being thrown at the GTA trilogy 👀
I am sure they gonna lose their value once they forced everyone into EVs. Like all regular cars. Till then I will try to enjoy mine as long as I still can
They are never going to be able to get rid of every car that predates the EV era. The best they could do is to only sell EVs for new cars. The used market will be alive and well for plenty of time
@@FitmentIndustries I wish you were right but in Uk for example they set a limit. 2035 or something like that
@@endless_touge no new ICE cars after 2035 doesn't mean all ICE cars are going to be banned. S2K and others will live on.
@@Edd90k_ ICE cars will live on but I (sadly) think they’ll be taxed and insured off the road
imagine if honda came out with a S3000 tomorrow. Would be so cool to have a manual rwd all motor honda
Fitment Industries video game would be dope dedicated to tuners by tuners
👀
@@FitmentIndustries You guys could possibly get a lot of the other popular tuner channels to help fund it together with crowd funding and next thing you know, a fan dedicated Need for Speed, Forza Horizon rival but with tons of customization
Oh and Also a mix of Initial D
I think Honda should bring back the s2k to compete with the brz/86
Do an episode on what happened to the crossfire
You forgot the S2000 CR model which people are selling for like $70K right now
After reading the forums for few years I understood why everyone thinks transmission is made of glass.
Good enough for Spoon and Mugen, good enough for me.
i think they mistakenly said transmission instead of differential, ap1 differential are pretty weak under HEAVY abuse, but thats to be expected, the ap1 differential is great in itself theres nothing bad about these cars … theyre perfected engineering
Like glass it will function perfectly - forever - as long as you don’t smash it
Yess they should revive it
On my second AP1 now (hopefully keeping for life) - I think the original is perfect for what it was meant to be.
Noooo. Stop making s2k bids. I want one, everytime a vid gets made they increase in price 😡 Great Vid btw, keep the content coming.
Lol plus the b18c holding those records before the f20
First car I learned to drive stick, friends S2k. Loved it, before his brother sold it for a Taco to have it sit and collect value for resell.
Hopefully we get to see Alex’s clapped S2K soon. I’m excited to see what he’s done with it.
Stay tuned! It will be back very soon! 👀
Having owned an AP1 I regret selling it :(
Always keep the S660 in mind
Putting the apple alarm sound in this video was pure evil
well this was an intense video ...
I'm a full jdm guy but what happened to hot rods and shit like that
What happened to Suki tho that’s the real question……I want a red hardtop S2000 so fuggin bad
For some reason I thought something happened to the giveaway car
Do the 2008 Hyundai Tiburon.
I just bought a mint 2003 57k miles suzuka s2000
Same here bro got it last month but 2005 , worth every penny
