Bought my '06 just over a month ago and even after learning everything about it for years before I could afford one the car still massively exceeded my expectations. There truly is no car that compares to an s2000. The long hood, those 90's gauge clusters, the fantastic cornering and exhilarating vtec. This car is so much fun to drive and never fails to put a smile on my face. It's a shame honda discontinued them as they are becoming increasingly rare. But god whatever meet I go to or whatever sports car I pull up next to, this car just stands out to me, there is nothing like an s2k. I considered cheaping out on a 350z or a speed3 but waiting for an s2000 was the best decision I ever made

It's a good thing that you don't see s2000s much, that means not every idiot is gonna own one and do stupid mods to them. The rarity of the car (at least here in Australia) also drives up it's value. I think Honda designed the s2000 to be more of a collector's classic than a throw away street car.

You literally race through a forest for half the track. It’s about 3 miles long and if you want to get into racing, they host classes where you can get your racing license. If you don’t have a car you can rent an FRS. They have both automatic and manual options and the staff is really nice and will help you with whatever problem you have on the track

Sure, It looks good and it's easier to find but then you have to roll your fenders, and then it's compromised and worth less money and there is greater potential for rust. So pay the extra money and find high end wheels with the correct offset so you don't have to hack up your valuable and harder to find a clean non-molested S2000.

On top of that, Hondata tune to extend VTEC (I got an AP2 so VTEC only lasts for like 2000rpm lol)
But again thats all way down the road, I think theyre perfectly fine stock

@@DelinquentDJ that's a good plan I would take it as is part it out to recoup the losses and then reverted back to as stock as possible and go from there.
First I would bag it because of the Simplicity compared to juice, and lack of space. Mold in a spoon hardtop, tuck and roll as much of the body as possible, no ground effects to flare outward think, 93 cobra/na Miata lip deletes
Shave all exterior trim, mirrors latches, third brake light, door handles keyholes badges, cetera. I've seen spoon tops without the ducktail and I don't know if that's custom work or if there's two variations of the spoon top with that ducktail third brake light.
I'd have to figure out what to do with the headlights because I like AP2 over the AP1 but I've never liked the shape of the headlights at all.
Most likely go with some 12 or 13 in Dayton's 2 bar knock off, nothing bigger than a 15 though.
Making it essentially a miniaturised bomb with that sloped back deck.
And I'd get it wrapped I wouldn't care for paint if it's a daily driver, Heck if I had the money I'd go through Maaco paint jobs every few months, play around with extravagant mixing options, see how far they let me go.

I purchased my 00 S2k in June 2007 and took it to a HPDE and two autocrosses that same month. Fast forward to today... The car has countless laps under its belt as well as several boxes of trophies... and is still 100% stock save for brake pads and rotors. It has been driven very hard for almost 160k miles, and other than normal wear items, I've only had to replace an idler pulley, one coilpack, and a window regulator. The Vtec solenoid and idle control valve also crapped out, but I rebuilt/fixed both myself for $0.
I can't honestly think of another car that can be that fun and also that reliable. It's really impressive.

I do enjoy the fact you dont see them on the street that much. I am assuming is because they are getting a bit rare since they are either getting into accidents by folks that can afford them or people like me that just keep them in a capsule till it is time to play. No fail though, I still get positive comments when it is driven. Either thumbs up by drivers and little kids lol or even people that just straight up telling me that they always wanted a S or miss it. I am proud to own it even if the hype of the S has been dying slowly.
