    So I should leave my gas in so I can be part of the video lol. The problem with home owner tillers is they get used often. I use to own one I did use mine twice a year. I never had an issue with it starting. I did you fuel stabilizer.
    Good video

      You can drain the gas, I get enough videos from people who don't. 🤣
      Fuel stabilizer goes a long way towards avoiding meeting me(dunno if that's good or bad LOL) but draining the gas is better, you can still get enough degradation over 6 months time to clog a jet, they are pretty tiny.

    👍Good machine, good repair & good advice about telling folks to drain the fuel (or let it run until tank dry) 👍
    *I volunteered myself in mowing neighbors lawn (freebies) until he healed from knee surgery. Sadly, it didn’t work out well. He continually took advantage of my kindness until I saw through him. Disheartening to say the least but I sleep well at night. Makes me wonder how folks that share his “attitude” get along w/ themselves. (“Golden Rule” for me) Good video. Thanks. 👍🇺🇸

      I drain the fuel nearly every time but I got called out by one of my favorite subs for not mentioning it enough. I love it when I get comments like that, it makes for better videos for people who are ambitious but not mechanically inclined.
      My neighbor is a good one, it's been 2 weeks since his surgery and, even though his doctor said "nothing more than 10 pounds", I had to take the weed eater away from him because he felt like he was taking advantage of my good nature. I tell him that I am saving up favors. LOL

      @@GuysPlayingWithTools Well I did split the transmission open this weekend. The results are the bearing at the ends of the input shaft have rusted. Apparently they did not seal it correctly with silicone rtv. I think I have located replacement bearing and will press the old ones off and press new on. I may modify the trans with a fill plug and fill with 90 weight gear oil rather than packing the bearings with grease again. At least the gears did not fail so hoping to salvage the tiller but still not happy this should of never happened.

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  Год назад +1

      Tillers usually have a rough life. Seems like 2/3 of the tillers I get are stored outside, or dirty, sometimes both. Manufacturers should take that into account in the design. The other part is. They tend to only get used in the spring, which gives rust time to work.

    • @GuysPlayingWithTools
      @GuysPlayingWithTools  2 года назад +1

      Hi Ruth, I put hemostats(anything to kink the line will work) on the gas line and then remove it from the carb and let it drain down into a "bad gas" tank. If it's too low for the tank I drain it into an empty water bottle and then pour it into the tank.
      It takes a few minutes to drain but the way I see it, I would spend that same time cleaning up gas if I tried to pour it out. 🙂

      On each side of the motor(easier to get to the gas tank side.) you will see a fill plug towards right right side, and a bolt at the bottom center on the side of the motor. The bolt is the drain plug for the oil.
      Take the bolt out at the bottom of the motor out and try to get something under it, it's a little messy emptying the oil form one of these.
      Once all the oil has drained, put 17oz of oil in it and check it, that's the capacity from empty so you should be good to go. I prefer Mobil One 10w30 synthetic for all my 4 stroke yard equipment.
