I've had one of these for about a year now, and am very happy with it. Mine came with thick foam/one-sided velcro tape for the top mount to keep the pole from banging around. Again, been very happy with mine.

My mount came with the velcro tape, but it didn't have any foam backing, so it still allows the top to be a bit loose.

I have the same 2.0 and the 22ft Flags and Poles. I went ahead and drilled the remaining sections for push pin installs. I do desert riding and have a camp locator on top which replaced the ball for finding my RV at night. It can get extremely windy where I go to where the upper part still collapsed and pinning all the sections the problem is resolved.

BOUGHT MINE TWO YEARS AGO, AT SONOMA RACE NASCAR EVENT POLE BROKE. THEY SENT ME A NEW ONE RIGHT AWAY AND RETURNED BROKEN ONE. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THIS YEAR AT RACES I PUT STEEL TUBE IN UPPER HALF OF POLE AND WORKED GREAT. STILL WANT HEAVY DUTY POLE FOR MORE FLAGS TO HANG, ONLY HAD 2 THIS YEAR

I have been thinking a wire run up the center of the flagpole might come in useful for some future projects.

I'm thinking the pole buddy mount might work to hold a wind turbine on a metal or PVC pole.

The mount is only plastic. True, I was able to mount a satellite dish antenna on one, but I don't think the wind loading would be as much as with a turbine.
I think I would call the mfg to see what they recommend.

@@RVProject I would think the lateral forces of a flag would be greater than a turbine. What concerns me most is the weight limit. Turbines weigh more than a flag.

I am using the flagpole Buddy flagpole mount for a Satellite receiver as shown in this project:
      www.rv-project.com/gear/dish3.php
      So far, it's held up.

@@RVProject how much does the satellite receiver weigh? Not sure how much weight the pole buddy holder is rated for.

      Around 10lbs or so.
