- I thought this low budget hotel in Blackpool was great for the price £18.69p for one night with en-suit.

The North ocean hotel in Blackpool seen a nice and lively place to stay when visiting the very popular seaside town.
The hotel reviews is based on what I see when entering the North ocean hotel and entering my room.

The bed's condition was horrendous but you missed something that's far worse than stains, BED BUGS. Despite finding a live one crawling on the bottom sheet, red stains & black bits around the mattress stitching you never seemed to catch on to what was causing it. BED BUGS are nasty little things & cannot only cause terrible irritation from their bites but they can also carry disease. They can also transfer to your clothes & your luggage & bingo you can then end up with them in your home. Unfortunately they are very difficult to get rid of & usually require a professional to get rid of them. The premises is definitely not clean & should be reported to Environmental Health. I hope you find this informative for future visits.
Always put your suitcase or luggage bag on a stand or side cabinet never on any beds,,,, has bed bugs love this when you return home, giving them to,,,,,, a new home to breed
I agree definitely bed bugs ,what a vile filthy place. Could not have stayed there.
Yep bed bugs. I would have got the hell out of there. That UV light certainly turned up lots of other nastiness. 3 star hotel? Really? It didn't deserve any stars based on that one room. You are a brave, brave, man staying in that one. Oh and another thing, remote controls. I bet you would need a packet of wet wipes to clean one of those!
I’ve had them before and took 7-8 times professional help to get rid of them bad things!

Thanks for posting the uv light obviously shows everything. For £18 i still think it was a great price. Great location, lovely views, heating, tv onsuite. Cant really complain, and the owner even wants people to be quiet. That's great. You even started to enjoy and relax with a cuppa!

We have found less rusty stuff metal detecting then was in that bathroom 😂....And turn that UV torch of its far to noisy for that place ...Cool review brother subscribed and ready to watch some more 👍

You did better than me, when I stayed there I left at 6 am , couldn't stand the stench from the bathroom and had booked in for 2 nights . I lost the 2nd night tried for a refund but got nowhere.
Like I said before the worst place I've ever stayed and would never stay in B&B without researching it more and always read the worst reviews first.
I couldn't take a UV light , I dread to think of what the stains are and just wouldn't stay.
You are braver than me.
Go a little up market and treat yourself. I'm sure lots of B & B owners would value your honest reviews.

@@Thehotelhunteruk it was a double seaview, with window that didn't close, curtain rail hanging off and it was an experience I will never repeat. I gave a fair review on TripAdvisor and hope others will read and avoid .

Exactly just looking at a room it looked clean maybe all cleaners should have to use UV after to check.

That was an improvement over the last room Dan! The Bathroom however under the UV light looked like a Jackson Pollock painting! I'm guessing the rules are for his benefit as he probably lives on the premises and due to religious reasons doesn't allow alcohol, but still advertises it with a Bar.
But for an overnight stay at that price, it was doable.

Last time I was in Blackpool 2018 I stayed at the Rockdene guesthouse and loved it. It's ran by a really nice Scottish couple. Amazing reviews online.

Put it this way, I didn't need a UV light to tell me that place would be filthy, covered in stains. I can tell it's only getting a superficial wipe down at best. I once owned a small hotel in Blackpool. It is hard work and there are many who cut corners when it comes to cleaning the rooms. I encourage anyone who books into ANY hotel to pull back the covers on the bed, check the sheets, blankets and mattress and don't forget to check the pillow under the pillowcase. Can't imagine sleeping on that bed. Or using any part of that bathroom YUCK ! Wouldn't stay in SOME of those places for free. Thanks for doing this and showing the reality of hotels like this who need to smarten up their ideas.
What a depressing town Blackpool is, so I guess those hotels that front the foreshore are depressing. Rather sleep on a park bench than in a dump like that. Thanks for confirming this even are watching multiple episodes of the "Hotel Inspector", have really cemented my opinions of these disgusting establishments.

I think it's a very good idea to do that light 😉
At home, condensation often forms on the outside of our toilet bowls and runs down. Same with the shower walls. The water has a fair mineral content and it leaves streaks. The quality of the carpets, paint, and fixtures in this hotel gives very good value for the price. Having seen the earlier places you have stayed, I'd stay here, even for several nights. As you say, the rules are basically aimed at keeping the place clean, smoke-free, and comfortable. The failure to provide drinks and activities listed in the online ads is unforgivable.

Hi Dan I was checking out this hotel on Google earth and one of the reviews was a couple found some sick on the bed and floor .. they told the owner and he said I clean it up later on ..probably the room you had ...

I would not stay in such a horrid place even if you paid me. Id rather spend the day and night on a park bench. It made me feel sick looking at the state of this B&B. They want reporting.
On the subject of quiet and rules can see their point if exterme. There is so much trouble in Blackpool with hen parties, drinking & drugs etc they want to stop any problems before they start.
I love North Ocean Hotel. I stayed in 2022, loved it so decided to stay at the same hotel when I returned to Blackpool in 2023. The rooms we were given were much, much larger and we never had to sign anything.
Nice quiet, comfy and cheap hotel with everything we need. The location is great too.
I'll definitely stay there again when I'm in Blackpool this year.

Nice view that's the best thing about the room. The light that works is better. Natural hot water sometimes there are issues out of personal control. I agree with the quiet if work men are using the room. I agree cleaning if stag and hens are using mit stags and hens that don't give a toss. Price is fair plus its out of season. Driftwood is what it is. Were the tv used to be up on the wall. Someone trashed the room or weak plaster, Your safe. Plastic instead of wood. Safe warm and dry. Take your own toiletries for one night spot on. Fair enough its probably a family business. He wont do that. Busy in season. Pay your money stay one time if its not for you plenty of other hotels in Blackpool. Parking can be a problem. Tv can be an issue but not for some people myself included. This could result in covid or another pandemic. The room needs a deep clean. That's from a cleaners view. A U V light is a good thing to protect yourself personally. You was tired. Serves a purpose needs a clean
Dan, speaking with 28 years experience in pest control, there is a good chance you may have taken them bugs home with you, they are transported into building via luggage, good luck 😮
Hi Dan good vid as normal, Its goo what you are doing but with all the bed bug problem at the moment i don't think its such a good idea really, i know its up to you but its so easy to take them bugs back to your home, in your car pretty much anyplace where its soft . i would be putting my bag in a black black and sleeping with a disposable painting outfit on, lol.
i get business, this should be cleaner, ok out of season or not as busy as t once would have been so in that case its not that hard to keep clean. even a left behind razor, disgusting.
Good videos and love what you are doing but i would be thinking of taking home all that filth and them bedbugs.

I only ever stay at either the Travelodge South in Blackpool or if possible the Balmoral Guest House, which is spotless and run by a lovely Scottish couple.
How do you know it's spotless unless you have a UV light
100% Correct... When I go to Blackpool I only EVER stay at the Travelodge South .... The rooms are spotless.
You have to pay a bit more money... I don't understand why people don't understand that YOU ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Good video. That room looked ok until you put that touch on and what it shows up. The owner is abit ott. The Blackpool lights like you said are no good for people who have epilepsy. Really bad idea that is.

Better than the last one. I think the owner just wants to keep out the stag parties. Perhaps a bit OTT. We have noticed the windows aren't very easy to get of if there's a fire?

That bed is unforgivable. To expect someone, to even pay anything to sleep on that. I would be too afraid to use that UV light, as I may not stay anywhere. That bed though,, those stains are clearly visible, without the need of the UV. Purely obvious as you state, what has happened.

I spoke with someone years ago they told me that the big expensive hotels send the old mattresses to the smaller cheaper b&bs in their chains I have seen the mattresses leaving the big hotels they looked grim to say the least, if I got myself a uv torch I would probably leave home or become ocd and clean up everything every day 🤣😂

I know the owner , she lives down London and is such a lovely woman, and all her workers are out to rip her off , it needs a good manager to completely change the place , it’s a shame there’s so many scumbags in Blackpool just out to get what they can for nothing in return .

I think no matter where you go if you have uv light it would make me totally paranoid were normally having a few days break attending something warm ,clean and friendly is what matters that hotel definitely didn't seem that at all welcoming
Tbf, if you shone that light anywhere you'd see horrible looking stuff....however....by looking at the mattress is does appear that a "gusher" once got rather excited on it.

I used to live in 2 hotels in Blackpool 2010.
One was the royal windsor.on the seafront near where you are on this video. It wasn't great.

I hate sleeping in beds that are not mine, even if I stay in hospital. You just never know who died in them, when I was in hospital I used to jolt upright in my bed and I knew somebody had died in it.
