I seriously can't figure out 8 people in this world that would give this a thumbs down. It blows my mind. You just can't get better then this.....amazing group of musicians. Only love for these guys
Can't believe no-one but me has enjoyed this video and commented on it in a year. This excellent 2012 live peformance of a Townes Van Zandt standard is an abiding favourite of mine! Lyle Lovett's lead vocals and rhythm guitar are supported masterfully with tremendous musicanship and unforgettable vocal chops from the band members: Victor Krause (left middle, on bass) Luke Bullock ( at the left, playing fiddle and vocals) The great Arnold McCuller (on vocals (wearing the hat, to Lyle's right) Kieth Sewell (at the right on guitar and vocals) John Hagan (on cello, to Lovett's left) and Russ Kunkle (behind Lovet on the ... er ... drum box thing that you sit down on to play. I hope i've spelled all of you fellas' names correctly. If not, ... sorry. You guys are epic together!!!!!🙂
Made me smile to see Lyle in glasses. :-) I so appreciated the close-ups of the instruments; it fascinates me to be able to watch them being played close-up. It has been beautiful to watch Lyle mature over the years.
miss hearing Arnold's amazing sweeet voice on JT's work, so good to find hear him again with Lyle. as always, Lyle is just LYLE. defies understanding ;-)
That was incredible all the way around! I never heard Luke sing before, just knew he was a great fiddle player....guess I know what I'm shopping for today!
this was such a lovely surprise -- I love Townes, and you introduced me to him [well, Lyle did] -- but I had completely confused my mind and fully expected to hear y'all launch into Luxury Liner. (which, you know, that'd be nice too.)

Hard to see why you would. Molly's very talented (not to mention fleet-fingered) but her soloing on this song is pretty vanilla, while that of Lyle's guitarist here is full of character.

They are obviously from Mars where they don't have good music.👽🛸
Too much Barry Manilow probably destroyed millions of brain cells.
They have no soul.
@@robertrindler2080 Except for an arsesoul
Feel sorry for them
I wish there were more people our world like Lyle Lovett.
Like always, Lyle and the guys do a ridiculously fine job and love the music they play.

Thank you for filling that out. What a set. These musicians made for quite a show all these years ago. A gem of a performance
One of the many reasons that I'm proud to be a Texan. Lyle is so good.
I tell people I'm from Texas. Never been. Just trying to get State Credits!!!
Great truckin tune! Thanks for the music Townes and Lyle !! I'm getting to that age when old truckin friends are heading to the hyway in the sky too !
What a lineup ! Saw these guys in Hamburg, Germany 2011. AWESOME ! ! !
So jealous!!!

Way to crush it gentlemen!!!

That is one of the best songs I ever heard !!
Written by Townsend Van Zant, one of his many great songs.
I just love this song!

What a great bunch of talent.
Excellent!! Great song, great musicians, and excellent vocals.
Proud that he is a Texan and his family lives close to my family in Texas.
So much soul.
Bad news from Houston boy can relate to that for sure
one of best of Townes'
songs he wrote but nobody does it better than Lyle
Love it!! 👏💐💗🙋
Lyle , you are some kind of talent. wow!

Yeah Lyle Lovett go for for it
I love this music and Lyle Lovette. Tony Dial

Good stuff. Real good. Diggin on that fiddle and player.
An amazing arrangement of musicians!

I have watched this on stage for the last 10 years , at least
Reminds me of sitting out under the trees in the summer with a bunch pickers. No fluff just the real stuff.
On e of the BEST...
His guitar player is stupid good. All the great ones have someone like in their band.
Fiddler too. Not so much the Orange Blossom Special lick he follows the guitar with, but in his first solo he nails it.
Excellent

We ALL wish we were Lyle!!😂😂

Fine musicians all.
The Molly Tuttle version of this so much faster and loud it is ridiculous.
So faster and loud = ridiculous = what?
Molly is an incredibly good flat-picker and an excellent singer too.
sounds good to me
Texans playing Texas music - Leeeeeevi.
townes would be pleased...
I certainly am
So, would that be "bluegrass cello" that the fella is playing...? (Tasty tune!!)
Only if you call this Bluegrass, which I wouldn't.
I agree. No soul or a broken thumb ! 🤔 Ron
Is that Dell McCoury on bass?
Fabulous! (There's a great version by Molly Tuttle & Tommy Emmanuel - which you might enjoy.) 😊

Luke Bulla.

I did not give this a thumbs down, but I don't like this song. The musicians are all GREAT, it's the song I hate.
I'll take Molly Tuttle's version over this one.
