@@azuredragoon2054 That one is trash, and BLS isn't really Yugi's ace, nor is BEUD Kaiba's. A real fusion of DM and BEWD with an actual useful effect would be killer.
@@PyrusTheVirus BEUD is a proxy ace of Kaiba's, being a fusion of his 3 ace cards. Although you're right in that Black Luster Soldier isn't really an ace of Yugi's. However, nobody else used the Black Luster Soldier archetype as far as I'm aware. And even in GX, Yugi's deck (when it was stolen) had Envoy of the Beginning inside and played. Unless there's an anime character I missed playing a dedicated Black Luster Soldier deck, I'll consider it part of Yugi's cards. Even so, I doubt they'll actually ever release such a fusion. Canonically, Yugi and Kaiba were rivals and even their ace monsters didn't like playing nicely with each other when it came to the old games in Egypt. If the ace monsters don't like each other and those playing said cards generally oppose each other (benign or not), it doesn't make sense to create a super powerful fusion of those cards. This is why Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon actually had a reasonable shot at being created. Yugi and Joey had been friends for an exceptionally long time. And while Kaiba was willing to cooperate with Yugi when it came to mutual goals (such as getting through their tag duel against Umbra and Lumis), his pride wouldn't allow his monsters to fuse with those of his eternal rival. Heck, his pride is what lead to Dark Side of Dimensions. So between the characters, their monsters and the history between those; it's probably never going to happen.
@@yubelious5584 Ah, fair enough. I don't think the tribute summon restriction on zombie world has come up in the last 15 years so I kinda forgot it was there. It would not stop kaijus or other similar cards though.
So I’m trying to figure out how this card is not targeted by other card effects when all these cards explained have effects that eventually target Red Eyes Dark Dragoon. Also what is stopping Red Eyes from activating its quick effect to negate and destroy the card which inevitably makes it stronger? Been looking for answers to these questions/statements for a bit but haven’t found anything, I may just be a little confused as I’m just getting back into the game but I feel like I need a more in depth explanation. Thank you for your responses!!!
The only cards I mentioned that target are Effect Veiler and Infinite Impermanence, but those were being used against the Predaplant Anaconda that's summoning the Dragoon. As for the rest of the cards I'd be happy to explain them, but none of them say the word "target." Let me know if you have any more questions :)
As a Nekroz player i don't have a problem dealing with Dragoon, summon Unicore, pop him with N'Tss since his effects will be negated, if that doesn't work, bounce with Brionic while Unicore is on the field, if neither of those are available i can also banish him with Trishula
Red Eyes fusion doesn't allow you to normal or special summon monsters, only set. Also if either Red Eyes or Dark Magician get banished then you basically have at least 2 dead cards in the deck. Best bet is a Dark Magician deck with eye of timaeus or something along those lines. My personal deck rn is 3x gren maju 3x necroface 3x orochi 3x dark magician 3x red eyes b dragon 3x red eyes alternative dragon 3x red eyes insight 3x red eyes fusion 3x allure of darkness 3x ash blossom 3x called by the grave 3x pot of desires 2x super poly 1x pot of avarice just in case.
Risen dragite can also bounce this card since it doesn't target or destroy. Any card that banishes without targeting (not many but enough) could do this. Also just get a more powerful beat stick.
I think Dragun by himself is not that big of a deal. The problem is when the opponent makes a huge board with multiple negations and then ends with Dragun. That’s not fair at all. Luckily Dark Ruler no More is a card 🙏🏼
Kaijus and the like are still outs to that card since negates target on the field cards monster effects and effect blossom negates the summoning not the tributing so it still gets dropped. Also the above can be applied to most any combo deck. Control needs more tools sure but this isn't that op.
@@mikethecrimson Anaconda doesn't copy that clause, as long as they do it at the end of the combo they can have a full board plus Dragoon. Plus, some decks also play Magicalized Fusion for a second Dragoon.
Another out to this is using Ultimate Conductor Tyranno's effect to force this in face down defense position, since that effect does not target, then use his other effect to remove it.
Would you be able to tribute it with Lair of Darkness and Lilith/Ahrima/Diabolos/Virus cards? The tribute for those is cost not effect but I'm not sure if the field spell part where "tribute your opponents monster as if you controlled it" would affect Dragoon.
Remember, it need card to discard. People somehow forget about this (even myself, bc that thing looks scary i guess), so if the user only have 1 or 0 card in his hand, its beatable.
I love how they overbalanced Merklords support was made to make the deck playable but not broken, but Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon on the other side has basically protection against basically all the current handtraps and a destruction + burn effect without any restriction or cost plus omninegation because balance only matters whenever they feel like it's necessary.
At least it forces people to use OG cards like DM and Red-Eyes and only has 1 interruption. Konami could have just made any generic fusion monster with 4 negates like Apoloussa, with unaffected protection and then short-printed it in a 2000 card set rather than a 249 set to make the card about that much cash. Still, Komoney hasn't reprinted Souls.
@@Goblin_Hands Considering that you only need like one card that's easily searchable either by red-eyes or the link predaplant I think that's way easier to use it than Apollousa specially because omninegation is better than just monster negation, Apollousa became easier to summon now with numeron call but is like way better to use Number Zexal mostly because preventing effects is way better then just negation.
Can cyber dragon infinity work against it? I know the effect where it attaches it as material is targeting. What about cyber dragon infinity second eff3ct? Where I can detach and negate an effect?
As a Trains Player, I can attest to Kaijus and hitting over Dragun with bigger beatsticks. And if they have more monsters than me, MYSTIC MINE FOR THAT UPPER CUT.
I hope the TCG imports Utopic Zexal Dragon which IMO is a more fairer boss card than Dragoon and slightly harder to summon but has huge payoff if you get it onto the field. Okay its probably the 2nd most busted boss monster behind Dragoon but hey at least its harder to summon.
Super poly is resolving 100% of the time if they make it with anaconda, since they can't special summon after. And if they aren't making it with anaconda then it usually isn't much of a threat, 4k atk is ez to beat over with borrelsword or accesscode, even through 1 negate.
Hehehe. I include kaijus in my crusadia deck just cause it works well and it is a going second deck anyways. So I'm good. I could also include a few of these other options for cheese tactics. But if your not playing a dark magician or red eyes deck with dragoon then you need to side out the dragoon engine in game 2 and then judge if you can put it back in game 3.
Isnt it impossible to summon Anaconda and Dragoon in the same turn because of Red-eyes fusions drawback? Or does anaconda not copy that part of the effect?
The drawback only applies after activation of red eyes fusion, so you can only special summon up until you activate it, after that you can’t special anymore, at least to my understanding.
@@ShadWalken Nope. then it would would say "for the rest of this turn" (like it does on anaconda). Instead it says "The turn you activate this card", meaning if you already summoned something this turn, you cannot activate the effect. (Thats also how it functions in any digital game)
@@ShadWalken ok. I've read into it. Apperently because it says "the turn you turn you activate this *card* " and you technically arent activating Red-Eyes fusion the restriction isnt applied. They already did the second one with Dragon Master Knight, a fusion of Black Luster Soldier and Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
Did everyone one forget about ghost reaper and winter cherry's?
Opponent: *Turbos out three Dark Dragoons turn 1*
Me: "Lol, Sphere Mode goes BRRRR!"
*opponent flips mask of restrict in draw phase*
I think not!
@@Silamon2 More likely Zombie World since its searchable.
@@Goblin_Hands How does zombie world stop sphere mode...?
@@Silamon2 because Sphere Mode isn't a Zombie. Read cards.
@@yubelious5584 Ah, fair enough. I don't think the tribute summon restriction on zombie world has come up in the last 15 years so I kinda forgot it was there.
It would not stop kaijus or other similar cards though.
I really enjoy the hearthstone reference at the gameciel part lmao
:)
>Dragoon of Red-Eyes: Exists
Kaijus: I'm about to end this man's career.
Oh yea, Buster Whelp works too.
Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon was amazing back in the day
Pretty soon half of our desks are just gonna be hand traps.
I was hoping you would include droplet in this discussion. I have been playing dogmatika and it doesn't stand a chance against droplet.
You can also turbo out dragoon with keeper of dragon magic and magicalized fusion (any other applicable fusion spell works too)
Dzeef : How to beat Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon !
Me : Ban Anaconda :D
Easy if you have a fusion deck, use Super Polymization on it, that card doesn't target or destory, I use it against cards like this all the time.
When this card comes out in the TCG in the tin box on 27th of August, everyone is going to have him in their decks
Oh boy Duel links will have a field day with Dark Dragoon
Thanks this was actually very helpful
Thanks for the tips dzeef 💯💯
As a Nekroz player i don't have a problem dealing with Dragoon, summon Unicore, pop him with N'Tss since his effects will be negated, if that doesn't work, bounce with Brionic while Unicore is on the field, if neither of those are available i can also banish him with Trishula
dzeeff, Cimooooo just released a video that is almost an exact copy of yours, in order of cards presented.
Everyone: Red eyes dark dragoon is the new chaos emperor dragon.
Kaijus: I’m about to end this cards whole career.
Can you use that one dragon spell for dark magician to fusion summon this card with only dark magician
You mean dragon's mirror? No, because Dragoon is a spellcaster type. Magicalized fusion is what you're looking for.
Red Eyes fusion doesn't allow you to normal or special summon monsters, only set. Also if either Red Eyes or Dark Magician get banished then you basically have at least 2 dead cards in the deck. Best bet is a Dark Magician deck with eye of timaeus or something along those lines. My personal deck rn is
3x gren maju
3x necroface
3x orochi
3x dark magician
3x red eyes b dragon
3x red eyes alternative dragon
3x red eyes insight
3x red eyes fusion
3x allure of darkness
3x ash blossom
3x called by the grave
3x pot of desires
2x super poly
1x pot of avarice just in case.
Luckily Dark Ruler no More is a card 🙏🏼
tbh i get a lil salty even if they just dragun pass. Its just not fun to play against
Kaijus and the like are still outs to that card since negates target on the field cards monster effects and effect blossom negates the summoning not the tributing so it still gets dropped. Also the above can be applied to most any combo deck. Control needs more tools sure but this isn't that op.
Red Eyes fusion doesn't allow any other normal or special summons so not sure if that's actually possible.
@@mikethecrimson it can. If u play anaconda, anaconda only copy effect . So the restriction of red eyes fusion can be bypassed
Dinasours don't have a problem dealing with dragoon much like zoodiac
jokes on you my deck revolves around red eyes fusion and archfiend black skull dragon
Would you be able to tribute it with Lair of Darkness and Lilith/Ahrima/Diabolos/Virus cards? The tribute for those is cost not effect but I'm not sure if the field spell part where "tribute your opponents monster as if you controlled it" would affect Dragoon.
I will be adding this card into my magician fusion deck
When a card is so broken you have to make a 10 minute video on how to beat it
Remember, it need card to discard.
@@Goblin_Hands Considering that you only need like one card that's easily searchable either by red-eyes or the link predaplant I think that's way easier to use it than Apollousa specially because omninegation is better than just monster negation, Apollousa became easier to summon now with numeron call but is like way better to use Number Zexal mostly because preventing effects is way better then just negation.
you can also use the card "destruction jammer" to negate and destroy dragoon by simply discarding one card
HAHAHA the heartstone reference "I AM mal ganis"
Can cyber dragon infinity work against it? I know the effect where it attaches it as material is targeting. What about cyber dragon infinity second eff3ct? Where I can detach and negate an effect?
Kaiju's making a comeback
Lair Infernoids be like "wow it can't be destroyed or targeted and it negates? That's pretty cool, anyways devyaty eff, tribute dragoon"
Mudragon of the swamp and super poly Is also a great out too dragoon by the way
Mal'ganis, the Sea Turtle Kaiju 🐢
I think we could see super poly come back into the meta at least a little if boards are gonna end on dragoon and savage.
Would the effect of D/D/D King Caesar Ragnarok effect work on it??
If i cant beat it with man eater bug i surrender
I usually do bluff tactic to eliminate Dragoon. Use one bait card then swoop him out with our real game changer card
Just curious can you solemn judgement or Solemn Strike Dragun before the summon is complete?
Solemn Judgment can negate the Fusion Spell or the Link Summon of Anaconda. Solemne Strike can only negate the Link Summom or the effect of Anaconda.
If I was to activate a card effect on my opponent can I negate it and boost dragoon's attack since it dnt say only ur opponents cards effects
Morientoso I see, it might be that Anaconda does take precedent over Red Eye Fusion’s drawback, like you posited originally.
@@ShadWalken ok. I've read into it. Apperently because it says "the turn you turn you activate this *card* " and you technically arent activating Red-Eyes fusion the restriction isnt applied.
So unless the change that one word "effect", one of the worst Fusions becomes part of one of the most broken combos. Which is just stupid imo
Morientoso I getcha, I’m definitely curious to see how it all pans out in the coming format, and using Anaconda to loop around the downside is something I love about this game, but also shows how easily the game breaks so randomly, which spoils the fun.
I find it funny that fossils can play around and out it so easily
i won’t be surprised if in 5 years we get a card that says it can’t leave the field
You can play Madolche. Queen Tiaramisu's spin doesn't target. Go for the kill once you get rid of Dragoon.
Dinos work too: Ultimate Conductor Tyranno can flip all opposing monsters face down without targeting, or Kaiju it with Dogoran
What about Raidraptor ultimate falcon that is also uneffected by card effects can it beat dragoon
