@@ozzstars_cars I'd even rather have the old, underpowered 2.7L 4 cylinder in a Tacoma than the new turbo 4. It might not have been fast or been able to tow much, but I'd bet good money those engines outlast the new ones by a significant margin!

I traded in my 3rd gen for a new 4th gen. I have no regrets and I accept the risks. I bought my 3rd gen brand new in 2016 and people questioned the crap out of the unproven 3.5 v6. Every one in RUclips land was questioning the move from the 4.0 to 3.5… I ended up putting 147k miles in 8 years in that 3rd gen and never did I have a problem with it. I am happy with my purchase and enjoy all the new up graded futures in the 4th gen. I definitely don’t miss the gutless feel of my old taco. I think people aren’t buying because they are too expensive. Dealers are willing to negotiate. I received $3.5k off the msrp and received $22k for 2016.

I disagree a bit on why the Tacoma isn't selling. I don't think it was because nobody wanted a redesigned 2024. I think there was a lot of excitement for the new design. When pricing was released is when a lot of people lost interest. Toyota increased the price $10,000 from 2023 to 2024. That's criminal. If they would have done $2,000-$3,000 increase, there wouldn't be any Tacomas on lots.

I don’t mind the new Tacoma and the hybrid system, but Toyota overplayed their hand on this one. We are basically talking about tech (-turbo) that you can get in a Corolla for $25,000. So why has the cost of a new Tacoma skyrocketed to nearly $70,000 for the TRD PRO!? If the TRD PRO was in the $50k’s and the OffRoad/Sport Hybrids were in the $40k’s, they would be selling.

$55,000 for a 4cyl Turbo is nuts. Especially since it won’t be as reliable as the old 6cyl and people can argue all they want about that but it won’t be. It’s funny how this guy say that Tacomas aren’t selling right now. When quarter 3 and quarter 4 out sold the whole competition for the midsize segment. Dude needs to check before coming out by saying that they aren’t selling.

I'd buy that Lexus if the price was right no problem.😊😊😊 A little cosmetic damage never bothered me, again, they better discount heavily.

They sell those old ones because they are greedy and they want to make money since they are not selling many of the new ones.

Prices are ridiculous for even an SR5 package and the gas mileage is terrible! Also, I'm always wary of first year teething pains in a new or refreshed model. Way too many electronics too! I've also read they having transmission problems already. Finally, there really needs to be a V6 option (not a fan of turbo four cylinder engines). I expect better from Toyota!

The real reason is simple. I wouldn't buy a tacoma for the same reason i wouldn't spend $600.00 on a box of cereal. You don't get no where near the value of product for the price tag. Lower the price by 15k and then we'll talk.

Toyota in their farrogance thought that they could do whatever they wanted not what the customer wanted and charge outrageous prices for their trucks and folks said no way. On top of that Toyota embraced DEI like many other big companies who drank the coolaid but didn't read the room at all. Then bad things started happening and it will be years before they ever come back if ever. Over twenty years I always bought a Toyota never even looked at another truck but this year I replaced my Tundra with a Honda Ridgeline. Toyota just doesn't care about their customers any longer. I also traded my Avalon Limited Hybrid on a Lexus RX350 and so far so good but we will see. I never used to wonder about my decision with Toyota but no so much now.

Wait they can't sell them, and have a 5k markup, and you believe taking that off and 1.5k-2k is a good deal. That's just price anchoring, if what you say is true and they can't move them, 5k off MSRP is a must along with a good interest rate deal on 60 months... So I'm saying atleast 10k, vs your 6.5-7k off.
