Just like with Fiora in Colony 9!

I just finished the game and I never thought Topple Resist Gems would come in handy for a main story boss. Hit that 32% so many times.
I didn’t get toppled by the fog king once... I hear people complain about it’s topple a lot though
Literally got toppled five seconds into the battle and then pummelled by his goons, thanks fog king very cool

So I’ll also get a bad ending?

Shulk never loses the final battle!
Tsukiru
You prefer having to through an extra half hour before you can do the final boss instead of just doing the final boss? Ok.
Tsukiru it’s better than losing an hour of progress if the game crashes
in both 2 and fc it saves right before the final boss tho. couldnt it just save and not make you reenter your file all because you died?
@@pizzapoosta There's probably a good reason for it that has to do with the hardware or something. I can't imagine they would do this without good reason.
This fight is your comeuppance for all the topple-locking you relied on throughout the game.
False, Topple Locking isn't nearly as viable in FC as the main game

there is a boss way worse than this and its not even a superboss there is this lizardman UM that does instant with with his auto attacks at random and hes insanely fast, any try to resist instant death without a 100% gem is pointless so either you fight him overleveled or suffer the RNG ai factor.
Rusty Blader is it reckless Godwin in satorl marsh? Because I hate that one too.
“So Future Connected was important to the lore of Xenoblade?” “It always has been”
Let's be honest, the only real disappointment about Future Connected is that Tyrea isn't playable. I expected her to be a "Fiora 2.0" like they did with the two nopons. I also thought Gaelgar would be a Dunban 2.0.
I would have loved to move around in the new Colony 9 too.
Ehh, going off of how he fought as a boss I'd say Gaelgar would be more a physical Melia
I wasnt expecting Gaelgar to even be playable and you shouldn't have either tbh. I mean come on, he has THE anime expression that means he's going to betray you for his psychotic goals.
Imakuni_BoomAtack and he was purple
Ah yes, purple. the surefire colour of evil.
But yeah, his overall design and expression makes it pretty clear that he's probly shady boi. Not to mention the fact the game doesn't really hide his shade prior to his 'betrayal'
Fun fact: When Melia uses Starlight Kick, she also Topples herself for a second.
Birdlady cant land.
Makes sense honestly. There are multiple enemies with moves that briefly topples or launches them, giving them a couple seconds of vulnerability.
Listening to this song again after playing Xenoblade 3 makes me realize that the vocal scale at 3:05 is eerily similar to the one in the Moebius battle theme.
Ehhh not really hearing that myself but it definitely has a bit of the same vibe
Oh yeah! It's a little slower but at x1.2 speed it's definitely there.
Spooky. Considering that this "Fog King" can also summon "Fog Knights" in to battle.
It sounds more like a part of the Queen's boss theme, the end part. Around 2:52.
Yeah about that moebius thing 💀

My favourite part about this fight was getting killed in one hit while my entire party got toppled for so long they couldn’t revive me in time before I lost the fight
Tell me about it. The first time I lost was because Shulk was the only one left and he couldn't walk around the fog king to revive me so just stood there and got hit until he died. Second time, everyone got toppled and continuously hit without getting up for over 10 seconds. Thankfully the 3rd time I got rid of the extra enemies before everyone got nulled down for what felt like forever before getting back up
@You Wish Right. I didn't need them anyways, I got through it fine on another attempt
I’ve never lost to this guy, at all.
Once you know the fight, it's pretty manageable as long as you kill the adds first and save a Ponspector attack from phase 1. I enjoyed the challenge.
The Ponspector final boss, on the other hand...
I swear to god if they’re about to make the Fog King the most important character in the series I’m going to lose it
Alvis: oh no, another pet got away.
Silly me
@@ShadowSkyXpretty much what happened
Here is a bit of my thoughts. Without Zanza, the Telethia have regained a degree of their selves. We know from the base game that transformed high entia Telethia can recall their friends and family to a degree. (Tyrea’s quest, the love triangle, and Teelan). There are also no Telethia you can fight in FC.
furthermore, the fog king is distinctly an Infernal Guldo so it is likely that the rift connects Shulk’s world to Alrest/Elysium. The Guldo are mutated humans (not homs) who turned as such after being implanted with prototype core crystals. In this regard, it would make sense the Telethia would have an instant to attack it, like The Endbringer attacked the tainted monsters in X. They are not part of the natural world.
However, this does not explain what the connect is to the fog beasts. The Rift seemed to corrupt normal monsters, though how is unclear.
The ability to cross dimensions, in the Xenoblade games at least, is currently only possible through the Conduit/Zohar, the Nopon arch sage if you want to count him as canon (which is possible considering the halfsage from Torna may be him) and questionably Professor B’s Mira Mobile. I have not played the older Xeno games and cannot comment on them.
I had some theories about this. The Fog King and its ability to corrupt entities reminds me a bit of they lyrics from Black Tar in X- which, like you mentioned, has the whole Endbringer-Tainted relationship.
Eternal Equinox makes me wonder how the Telethia perceive their environments. They were attracted to unique ether waves zanza’s Monado emitted when Shulk met Alvis. Maybe they can recognize unnatural elements based on their ether presence?
@@Birdthefeatheredone That would make sense. I would imagine the Telethia (both 1's and X's) act as almost an Ether immune system, targeting and eliminating ether that emanates from an interdimensional or foreign source. The Telethia in FC basically rush into the Rift and destroy themselves, just like white blood cells- it lines up.
The interesting thing about the Guldo is that it behaved like a Gnosis. Shulk's Monado REX+ not only looked like Pyra's Blade, but with how it created a field that allowed everyone to harm the Guldo, it reminded me of the Hilbert Effect. I'll have to finish watching Xenosaga cutscenes to figure out if my speculation on it being the Hilbert Effect lines up.
@@drakath5727 Ah yes, the flaming jets on the side do look like Pyra's come to think of it.
I like how the song uses parts of the fog beast theme. Fitting for a king.
It also uses the fast scaling strings from Xenoblade 2's "The Awakening" track for its intro.
It also uses parts of the bionis shoulder battle theme
3:06 Moebius theme????? Would make sense - the Fog is likely connected to XC3.
You're exactly right! :)
I'm not gonna lie, the Ponspectors are the only reason I was able to beat this thing. I used the first phase to fill the party gauge. As soon as the second phase started, I used the Yellow Team's all out attack to stun it while I filled the party gauge again. I then used the Red Team's all out attack to do massive damage. It was then at low enough health for me to just spam all my available arts until it died.
I used a ton of topple resist gems to get it to about half health and then used the red team to finish it off.
Man, good thing I went out of my way to go grab all the Ponspectors and finish their whole sidequest(Dragon killing and all) before doing the final battle, then
ALVIS WAS COOKING
Despite Yoko not being involved in this soundtrack, it really sounds like a Kingdom Hearts boss theme.
Xenoblade 1 on the whole is a really impressive mix of composers gelling with each others' styles.
@@belot217 Kinda, but most of the soundtrack is still made by the same people. Yoko Shimomura only did a handful of tracks (mostly arranged by others), Yasunori Mitsuda did exactly one track and the rest is by Manami Kiyota and ACE+ (which is three people, but still). Working together to create a cohesive OST without openly clashing styles is part of their job (Most games have multiple composers these days). Xenoblade Chronicles 2 & 3 are arguably more impressive because Mitsuda (and his colleague Abounnasr) are much more involved, even if Shimomura isn't at all.
Didnt expect new final boss theme, I thought they would use The God Slaying Sword. This was a pleasant surprise.
Personally I still kinda can't forgive them for reusing Zanza the Divine on a boss that has nothing to do with Zanza whatsoever. I get why they would reuse themes, but THAT ONE? I might be overexaggerating, feel free to tell me your own opinion about this, but to me this theme should have stayed where it belongs (probably also bc I didn't really like the Fog King as a plot device anyway)... But hey maybe there's a reason for that and it's somehow related to what the Fog King really Was. If that's the case I might even be fine with it in the long run, but finding our will probably take us a few more years :D
Jayroonify actually, I think the reason why they reused the theme for this game is because, whatever that thing is, is just as dangerous, if not more dangerous, than Zanza.
@@Jayroonify I do think there's a reason. They even used Memory's End for Alcamoth.
Björn-Erik Reis I think it has meaning, although not as deep as we might think. They might just be trying to invoke the sense of urgency that Zanza’s fight (and leading up to it) had.
@@Dr.Meme-Man I truly hope your right :D But for me, it would take more than just "being more dangerous" in order to justify this reusage, if it turns out to be a sort of god in its own right, it might be somewhat acceptable for me. Still not really since that theme is literally titled "Zanza" but it would be more ok-ish :D
I love how the shoulder is so intertwined with the biodiversity of every location in Bionis and Mechonis on one area and living in such a harmony that even if they came from different environments they do not upset the balance in the ecosystem but the Fog King does by first driving the remaining High Entia out of Alcamoth then corrupting the animals and turning them into Fogbeasts and controlling them to wipe out the High Entia refugees
The fog king isn’t an infernal guldo because he didn’t self destruct in the middle of the fight
It does a move similar to it
He actually does, but instead of killing him I think he just topples himself for a bit
I thought he toppled everyone for like 12 seconds instead of himself?
@@drakath5727 I think he has a separate move for toppling everyone
-Fog- topple King
@@darthdistortion1934 actually, the infernal guldo's elemental explosion thing or whatever it's called doesn't kill him, it just does a lot of damage to both the guldo and you
Nene with the awesome block tho.
Just got there today, I thought Shulk was going to be the one to block that laser at first, but I was pleasantly surprised.
This sounds more ominous than Zanza by a mile.
Makes me feel like the Fog King was just a taste of what's to come.
It almost sounds like a Breath of the Wild boss theme, with the reliance on choir chords to make that unsettling feeling.
I really, really hope so. Tbh, I even feel like my trust in Monolith's storytelling has been hurt a little bit by FC because I personally disliked the 'story' so much... I really hope that changes once we get to the next entry in the series and we'll hopefully learn more about what exactly it was that FC was meant to point to.
@@Jayroonify they stated they had limited budget and time for this epilogue so I can forgive FC being so short and a bit bland, but they planted several clues in the game preparing us for what's coming next.
Still waiting for Xenoblade 1 and 2 to cross dimensions, it would be the greatest sequel ever.
Include the ups of both games, maybe fuse the combat system or create a hybrid of it, get old VA's or more likely, new ones, and boom. Perfect game.
@@qwertyuiop1854 NEVER replace the old VAs. Did you learn NOTHING from Xenosaga II?
I honestly really like how the Fog King isn't explained, even after we know it was some kind of representation of this world and Alrest remerging. Because it's that, yet even more, as the Telethia fought in Xenoblade X somehow ended up there by flying into this fog (perhaps the reverse is how Nopon ended up in both worlds)
So much is a mystery about this and I love that
I love how Future Connected also has a battle system that was being tested for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 like the union strikes from the Ponspectors being like the experimental Ouroboros and how there is a nopon named Predodo that foreshadows the appearance of the Ouroboros
Ophion had a move called Oroborous Drive and is a serpent artiface from 2. Who also matches the color pallete to a T in the final area in 3. In fact I'd wager the oroborous powers are derived from ophion originally - hence why those who have its power are "marked" with its symbol.
@@ShadowSkyX Imagine if the artifices were made of origin metal
@@coldgravy8056wouldn’t it be the other way around? The artifices existed first

The "we're not going to even reveal the final boss's identity, better make a killer theme to placate the fans" track.
At least i could enjoy the theme while i was toppled for 20 seconds
Now listening to this after 3 came out the vocals kinda remind me of the Mobius battle theme’s vocals.
Interesting how the events in the extra story shows what the future of xenoblade is going to be, wonder what they are going to do with the fog enemies.
Maybe something similar to the Gnosis in Xenosaga.
@@FireFury190 well, the model used for fog king is the infernal Guldo model from XC2. Could be a part of the alterations both worlds undertook at the same time, leading to some 'bleed' from one to the other.
@You Wish Future connected to the past.
@You Wish Or an indication that a loose retelling of Xenosaga is next, much like Xenoblade 2 was a loose retelling of Xenogears.
I would love to see this bridge the worlds of XC to 2 and maybe X, I haven’t beaten it. In some kind of xenoblade warriors
Tip for this fight:
Save your talent gauge for this phase and pop Monado Armor IMMEDIATELY and keep it up for as long as you can.
Uhh, well, this is one of the best strategies in the entire game, not just this battle. There's literally no reason not to spam this ability apart from saving it for an enemy's Talent Art or using Monado Cyclone for topple locking.
Actually a more reliable strategy is equipping tons of topple resist gems, but I never found those, so i genuinely just levelled myself up to 99 after way too much grinding to beat him.
@@drakath5727 Yikes Man, I just had myself at lv80 for him, at that was cause I was grinding for the ponspector final boss - and it was more than enough to beat him. Daze ponspectors busted
Monado armor is literally the best art in future connected hands down. Having no visions practically makes speed and shield useless, purge is used for spike enemies, eater and cyclone have their niches (pretty hard to topple lock in FC), and busters damage isn’t worth the whole talent gauge.
@@brianv9242 Some uniques have pretty nasty talent arts that they telegraph. Shield is kind of important for those.
So anyway this track is now called Roar from Beyond
In Mother Alcamoth, Xenoblade boss topple lock you
Some people call this thing a Gnosis, and that may be correct. The Rift is a tear between the Imaginary Domain and Real Number Domain, allowing a single Gnosis to pass through. This Gnosis, is the person who became the Infernal Guldo.
When a person is alive, two parts come into play, the spirit in the Imaginary Domain, and the physical body in the Real Number Domain. When that person dies, the spirit loses it's anchor and begins to be swallowed by the Collective Unconsciousness. The more they resisted, the more they became a Gnosis.
So when Rex and his party killed the Infernal Guldo, the spirit of it lost it's anchor and began to be swallowed. They resisted and it took them time to get away from the Collective Unconsciousness, so by the time the post game happened, Alrest was already gone. Unable to return to their world, they broke through the Rift into the world of Xenoblade 1, the closest Real Number Domain to their own.
The way you become able to hurt the Fog King is the same as when KOS-MOS and other anti-Gnosis weapons use the Hilbert Effect, forcing the Gnosis, in this case the Fog King, into the Real Number Domain, the physical world. Shulk effectively makes a Hilbert Effect.
So why does the Rift effect living beings like it does? Why can't it affect humanoid beings? It again could be a trait of the Imaginary Domain, or possibly have to do with Unus-Mundus Drive Operation (U-DO) or even Gnosisification. It could be the Fogbeasts are entities driven mad by the power of U-DO, or are in the process of becoming Gnosis. The people of Bionis and Mechonis likely resonate purely with a force called "Anima", which would make it impossible for them to become Gnosis. The creatures on the other hand, likely do not entirely, and thus begin Gnosisfication, which is seen in the form of the Fogbeasts. It would be reasonable to assume that if you didn't destroy all Fogbeasts, they would have become Gnosis.
The only thing I can think of that really counteracts this theory is the fact that the Fog King doesn't cause Shulk, Melia, Nene, or Keno to begin whitening when touched.
The Xenosaga lore explanation was spot on, but I really doubt this is exactly what happened. For one, Alrest never disappeared exactly. It just changed form into a larger geomass. There's no reason why it couldn't have returned to Alrest, as it's still entirely present.
King Jaye It could also reject the new world that was birthed by Rex’s efforts. As a being of rejection, like all Gnosis are.
@@craigdellicarpini772 That makes sense. Still, we won't know until the next game drops. I feel like the Fog Beasts will have different circumstances to make them slightly different from their Saga counterparts.
If I remember correctly, the monster Rex & crew fought inside the womb of Torna dropped a keycard that bore a strikingly familiar visage. Does anyone else think the Infernal Guldo might have been Galea/Meyneth herself? We've seen what remains of Klaus, it wouldn't be difficult to assume that the Conduit had negatively affected those still aboard the Beanstalk in one way or another. Klaus must have had to utilize Core Crystal innovations in order to survive in his burdened state, the same could be said for the survivors. Since Galea was the closest to Klaus when the reaction occurred, she too would be drastically affected & thus would require similar treatments in order to survive, except the technology was still in its infancy & caused her & countless others to degenerate into the monsters we see now in Morytha. This is all conjecture, but it's an interesting thought nonetheless.
@@jefftheindianchief8279 No, that actually makes a lot of sense. If she had any form of Core Crystal tech in her body, Galea becoming the Infernal Guldo would logically make sense if you factor in the ID.
And if the Fog King happened to be Klaus's consciousness, it taking the form of a giant Guldo makes sense as well. After all, the Architect had core crystal tech on his body to sustain his life. I assume it is, as Zanza the Divine suspiciously plays for the first phase of the Fog King's final boss. If that was a subtle hint, then it adds up.
When the final boss of this DLC was a Guldo, that's when I *knew* we were gonna be in for something big. One Aionios, Two Queens, and a Liberator home base later and I was right!
Reading the comments about the Fog King having a 15+ second topple really surprised me. The reason is, that I was TOO OP and I finished the Fog King pretty quickly before he even did something like that. Am I the only one with a similar experience?
Edit (1-29-2022): Thank you for your comments!
The first battle I had with him, I lost on phase 2 pretty bad. Got toppled a few times, not too bad though, just lost a lot of health and died. Trained up after that, then I was too strong. So yea, I didnt notice it either
I definitely wasnt OP. I was level 74, no topple resist gems, didnt even have all ponspecters and didn't even spam monado armour. just kinda... treated it like i do every other enemy. Smack it till it dies.

I was OP, had all the Ponspectors and was on casual for the story lmao l
Damn, since when an enemy wear Topple Plus gems?
considering it shares details with an Infernal Guldo, maybe Topple Plus gems were mistaken for Core Crystal Prototypes. I wouldn't put it past them.
fog enemies are back
So I just finished this, and it left a few unanswered questions that I had, but other than that, it was pretty good. Not as good as the main story, but it's still good in it's own right. I did really like the Fog King but there's still a ton about it that wasn't explained. I also don't know why the shoulder of the Bionis' was still hanging around in the sky after the Bionis' got destroyed, that just felt kind of random. If these were answered in-game, then I probably missed them, but I don't think they were. Also this theme is very good.
TwiliLink according to the game’s area description it’s floating because it has so much hover stone apparently
The Fog King is highly likely to be a Guldo from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I think its inclusion in FC is hinting at a possible Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Majora's Minion I can definitely see how that would make sense since there is a sidequest involving some of those.
Infinite Lewis I can kind of see the Guldo shape and it would be very cool if this was teasing for a new Xenoblade game since it would probably answer more questions I have about it.
@@twililink8867 yeah, they essentially explained it as the reason for the floating islands in eryth sea to start with, and the shoulder had a high concentration of the stuff that the giants took advantage of.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised in the damn least. man was enough of a psycho that I can see him being there, potentially even having his actions kick off the events of 3 like he did in 1 and I can see him fulfilling the requirements of returning as a fog beast. ... considering all the damage they've caused to Alrest with their actions for so long, I wouldn't be surprised if a certain SOMEONE who's only just better than Shido in my opinion since they actually at least TRIED to fight off the messed up desires that fueled the motivation behind their actions not only wound up returning, but wound up even being both the big bad, and ALSO being the final boss this time around while being more powerful than ever! The Future is built upon the Past after all and considering how the game's description on the E-Shop has one of the themes be Life, considering their views and their end goals within Xenoblade 2 as well as their cunning and intelligence, they'd arguably be perfect as the main antagonist in 3 and as the final boss. ...After all as one of Nintendo's own Home-Grown greatest villains has shown personally, Hate can be an extremely enduring and powerful emotion and I can see that Hate that said certain someone carried in Life allow them to return as a Fog Beast and fulfil whatever conditions need to be met.
I defeated the Fog King on my first attempt tonight.
I had everyone at Level 80 but it was still a slight struggle when falling victim to it's extra long topple.
Can finally make a start on Xenoblade 2
Spoilers
So, was this Alpha? Or brought in by Alpha?
Im gonna assume brought in because the core was found after FC
Probably just a big fog rift created by Alpha to destroy the remnants of the pure blooded High Entias (Klaus/Zanza's cells)
honestly it might actually be the infernal guldo or whatever remained of it, brought to bionis as a product of the worlds growing closer
@@twiilit_that seems to be the correct answer especially with how Fogbeast’s were handled in Fr being more akin to the fog king
@@uncleshithole9127 months later and i just realized that the telethia that entered the rift killed the fog king through an annihilation event :(
@@twiilit_Damn you cooked
This theme gives off kingdom hearts vibes. I don’t know if it’s just me, but just wanted to put that out there.
People be wilding at this things topple and saying they did in on Casual mode. I don't remember fighting it because I slapped it too hard using some easily obtainable gems.
I feel like the section at 2:33 is a leitmotif and is used somewhere else, but I can’t quite figure out where.
It's a version of the fogbeast battle theme
So apparently if you move behind the fog king he cant topple you soooo yeah. Hope thag helps 4 years later
so the guldos are coming back, that could be interesting in a future game
The piano here definitely reminds me (heh) of Nactflugel from Kingdom Hearts 3.
The real title of this music from the OST is "The Conduit's Demise" 😳
Sorry Fog King but u got straight murdered by the 12 Ponspectors lol
Still wondering, if we will ever get an official title for this track.
Edit: We finally got it!!! It's now "Roar from Beyond"
I see Monolith got the choir from BOTW to help out record this track
Honestly I thought the Fog King really reminded me of Calamity Ganon, in terms of appearance (I know it also resembles the Infernal Guldo) and it's general plot throughout the story.
@@SeriousStriker thinking about it, the Fog King and Calamity Ganon are quite similar, both are concealed in a homeland brought to its worst state, being held off by something and spreading their manifestations throughout the world.
Xenoblade's Soundtracks is so much better than Botw though
@@mssunshine8971 they're trying to portray different emotions so, objectively, they have soundtracks equal to each other.
@@ferusskywalker9167 Eh
I cheesed this fight like a mother fucker. I saved my gauge for each time Fog King was about to use mist press so I could recover all my HP. Fuck that topple bullshit.
Has a theme finally surpassed Zanza's theme?
Okay now that the whole story is done, can we piece together what the Fog King was now?
Alpha/Alvis's shenanigans
@@P.7005 That's the funny part. According to one small bit of Dialog from A, Alpha only directs the fog beasts, he hasn't created them or has direct control over them.
I had to deal with the topple shit first attempt against this guy. Second try I got super lucky and Yellow Ponspector or Starlight Kicked his ass before he could use the move.
Me nervously using monado speed to avoid getting toppled
Even though everyone is talking about how hard this guy is, I don’t really remember having trouble on him. I lowered my level to like 76 so I don’t think I was overleveled. Maybe I just got lucky with that topple move, I think he only used it once. I’m not trying to brag I just think it’s weird how I don’t remember this fight being all that difficult.
That's still overleveled. Try doing it at 70, then you'll see the fight's true colors.
Christian Floyd I put myself at 75 because that’s about the level of the enemies in alcamoth, but I guess I’ll try 70 next time I play future connected. I’ve realised that the topple move everyone is talking about is a fan shape infront, and it has a really long startup. So when you see him use mist press you can just move behind him and use armour.
So was the 'Fog King' sounding like 'Fucking' intentional?
Toppling the fogking: 😃
Getting toppled by fogking: 💀
Why does a walking living pile of clouds get such a banger theme
3:29 Nut
I played this on Casual mode bc I was in a minor hurry and beat this boss in about fifteen seconds lol
Anyone notice that some parts of the song has kind of the same theme as Riki's kindness
Spoilers for XC1
I really wish that normal Fiora was a playable skin in post-game
You can hear oroboros theme 0_0.
I learned the hard way that if you don't go into this phase with at least two full bars of the party guage and Shulk's Monado Arts ready to go... THE RUN IS FUBAR!
Cool boss but I still need more context for this thing
Hopefully we get it in the sequel
Best guess, it is either a version of, or the actual Infernal Guldo fought in XBC2.
Somehow, it managed to survive past the end of XBC2 and cross into XBC1's universe, on it's way encountering... something, turning it into the Fog King and releasing that substance that corrupted it into the XBC1 universe through the Rift, making the Fog Beats in the process.
Boy this theme should play in both parts
Am I the only one who didn't had trouble of topple with this boss? it was kinda EZ for me and beat him the 1st time... HOWEVER I had multiple troubles with the stupid Dragon of the final sidequest of Ponspectors... That was a freaking nightmae
Does anyone else feel like Future Connected had some great set ups and then just kinda... abruptly ended, like the developers ran out of time?
Gael'gar getting a fully voiced and animated cutscene, but then his real defeat later isn't even voiced? We don't really find out what was up with the Rift, or why the Fogbeasts were so bent on the destruction of Gran Dell? I thought perhaps it could have been connected to another world, like perhaps the world of X or 2 (neither of which I've played yet), but my friend who has played 2 said the Rift didn't seem to be connected to 2's world.
It also was eery/cool how the ruined Alcamoth had Zanza's choir singing subtly, and so I thought, "oh, maybe the Fog King is some remnant of Zanza that somehow survived and is out for revenge? Maybe his hope was to cause enough chaos that he could eventually track down Shulk and try to kill him/his friends, either for revenge or perhaps even to somehow regain his power?? Even if he's currently reduced to kinda a Calamity Ganon type entity, somewhat mindless, but still fueled by revenge?"
Yet, they just kinda... go and kill the Fog King. Little is actually resolved about the new plot points, and it felt like a much more empty victory, because we didn't even know why the Fog King existed, or if it had relevance to Zanza or other worlds or lore. It just kinda... felt like they were setting up for bigger reveals/climaxes, and then they ran out of time to make the game, so they just kinda slapped the final boss where it is and left out those other story elements...
I feel like most of FC was to set up 3, so things like the Fog King were more teased than really revealed. Gael'gar was probably just meant to be a throwaway villain to give Melia character development and nothing else.
Holy shit you fight agent smith in this!?!?!
Such Matrix energy
honestly the final fight was a bit easy, but maybe because i was lv 80?
I beat the final fight quite easily at level 78 Shulk/77 everyone else. The dragon from the Ponspectors quest was much harder.
@@Mav12able dear god that quest was pretty hard, took me 6 tries even at lv 80, i used extra chance ponspector attacks
The dragon and the final boss wrre quite easy to me. BUT the fucking lizzard in one of the mazes was kind of crazy xD took me about 20 tries
