      I think 3 has amazing music. Especially the vocals tracks. You cannot beat where we belong, a step away. And the final song of the series. But i think 2 has my heart for many reasons. Story is incredible, characters are i think the best in the series, the environments are by FAR the best. The gameplay is leagues better than 1. I just think 3 has some breathtaking music that ever so slightly beats 2.

    Honestly, my interpretation of pneuma is that pneuma herself is gone. She has ceased to be. But Pyra and Mythra, they have their memories and are now their own people. They no longer share memories created, and quite clearly have their own bodies.

      Whatever happened to Pneuma, from Pneuma to the pair of Pyra and Mythra, I can only assume it's the same as what happened to Ontos. Ontos was fully Alvis, until he was split into Alpha and A. If they fused again, presumably all the memories of the stuff they'd experienced would be collectively smashed together and stored. But such an eventuality would require some Conduit level intervention, and Klaus is gone so that won't happen.

    To me, the best singular song that Nintendo has made is the 2016 E3 Trailer Theme for Breath of the Wild, especially when the violin comes in to echo Breath of the Wilds main motif, gives me a sense of awe that songs very rarely give me. If I were to choose overall three soundtracks though, it might be Fire Emblem Three Houses, Xenoblade, and Super Mario Galaxy.

    As a fellow Xenoblade fan, I do believe you've made a great choice. However, as you yourself stated, you have yet to play certain series. That in itself limits your knowledge of other potentially 'best' songs.
    For instance, one of the 'best' songs in the Fire Emblem series (Shadows of Valentia specifically) is "Lord of a Dead Empire."
    The song plays at a pivotal point in the journey of one of the deuteragonists, and, unlike every other battle theme up to that point, plays throughout the entire battle without interruptions, no matter if the player or the enemy is attacking.
    Lord of a Dead Empire is sung in Latin, which when translated, talks about what has occurred in the world, what role the supposedly main antagonist plays in said world, and what connection the deuteragonist, or so-called "Children of Fate," have that led them to their journey.
    I highly recommend you look into it. You might find it interesting.

    I love Xenoblade as much as the next person, and don't think Noah & N or Moebius M were given enough credit. (The former is basically every motif in the game played back-to-back, and the latter has the most spoilery use of a flute I've ever heard, and it's in the middle of a freaking opera choir.)
    However... Hear me out: _Kirby._
    You don't need lyrics to tell a story, and it's hard for me to think of a more haunting story within a song than when the slow-paced chiptune kicks in during The Star Conquering Traveler - Final Movement: Shimmering Star, which, by the way, is not an "instrument" most would ever expect to hear in a full orchestral symphony. And that's not even the most praised Kirby Song (not counting the one that defined the main motif for the entire series). That title likely goes to C.R.O.W.N.E.D.

    • @DishWithDash
      @DishWithDash  2 месяца назад +2

      The Xenoblade stuff is something I can mostly agree with but Kirby Now this is a take I haven’t really before. As someone who hasn’t played to many Kirby games I’d be very interested in taking a look at that series music. Also I completely agree that a song doesn’t need lyrics to be good.

    Personally, as good as One Last You is, I think A Step Away beat it for me just slightly. It has so many layers, a lot more than just a straightforward song that One Last You. Yes, the guitar solo is a bit generic, but the rest fits the stages of grief that Ouroboros, N and M all go through. The only thing that would unironically make it better than One Last You is if the A Step Away instead opted to do the inverse of the Offseeing tune, and have two flutes play together in a solo before reducing it down to one part of the way through, as the whole point of it is Noah and N's grief over (potentially) losing Mio. OLY is the better song, yes... but A Step Away is far more impactful IMO. The only thing that prevents it from being stuck in your head the rest of the game is that it happens 2/3rds of the way through the game, and the rest of the game still has a few bangers to throw at you, while One Last You is quite literally the ending song, so its the last song you're likely to remember if you just play through the game once.
    Though, none of them can beat the true king; "Xenoblade 2 Battle Theme but you won't forget it"

    • @DishWithDash
      @DishWithDash  Месяц назад +1

      See for me a step away is probably my least favorite song from the klaus saga. Don't get me wrong it's still a really good song but listening over and over again I feel like it's the weakest of the 7 main vocal songs in the series . However if we were talking about the scenes the songs were in this would beat one last you for sure. In fact the step away scene might be my favorite scene out of all the games. Anyway thanks for writing this comment.

    Ok first l'm gonna answer the quedtion. The best Nintendo song is (and it's not even close) the Sylvalum Night Theme. And in general XCX sweeps the floor with XC1, XC2 and XC3 when it comes to music (and the rest too). This is a very interesting video (gave it a like) but l'm afraid your criteria was a bit weak.. nothing on it points to better music, and your selection ended up being surprisingly cringe. i feel like everytime i hear someone talk about Xenoblade music, Xenoblade Chronicles X alwais gets left out.
    It has some of the wierdest and unique Tracks of the series and a whole lot of them have lyrics compared to the main line games where its usually just the ending theme +1 or 2 or a more or less chanting in the background.
    And after having played all 4 games imo XC 3 had some of the most forgettable OSTs.
    Despite being the most recent game of the Series i can barely remember anything besides the Keves or Moebius Battle ost and that is despite them still being good.
    The ones i remember the clearest are most ost from XC1 and the more iconic ones From XC X like uncontrollable, black tar and dont worry.
    As for XC 2 most of the titan themes, battlemusic and the ending are great but some of the heart to heart ost are just second hand embarressment and feel so forced to fit the animeesque flair they had going.

      I probably should listen to some xenoblade x music because if it's as good as the other games I'd probably like the music. The only reason I haven't is because I hoping that Nintendo will remaster the game and put it on the switch 2. In terms of xenoblade 3's music the main issue I have with it's music are the overworld themes because most of them are just super bland but a lot of the more epic music in xenoblade 3 like the weight of life or kaleidoscopic core think is really good. I really like xenoblade 1's music as well but I don't have as strong of a connection to that game as the others. In terms of 2's music I absoulty love most of the songs the only one I really have a problem with the song that plays during some of the bad cutscenes in the game.
