- The Powkiddy V90 is even better with the upgrade to Miyoo Custom Firmware which seems to fix any issues with the first Miyoo CFW and adds more features. With the options to play everything through RetroArch, addyour own Emulators for Gaming while in Beta or use SimpleUI to make your games not the OS the life of the party.

Settings for Best PS1 Performance:
*Install PCSX-ReARMed
*unzip on Main partition
And/or to tweak
*Lower Emulator clock speed to increase game speed
*Disable Frame Limiter
*Clock speed set to 798 for Best Performance most games
*.bin/.cue files run Best

Has anyone noticed any performance improvements in the Snes emulator?
I’m pretty sure it’s using the same emulator. But now I need to check because I’m unsure
how to add gmu music player and mplayer video player? i tried to add from 1.3.3 it doesnt work at all

I hear gpsp supppose to have been optimized on 2.0 on gba. My biggest question is can you now play mario tennis or mario golf on gpsp? 1.3.3 camelot games would freeze up.

why are you using mgba core instead gpsp core in retroarch?
I was testing every core. There was another few hours of footage I cut
After flashing the cfw do you need to partition the sd card or just pop it in your device?
You can expand the partitions but I think you should be able to just toss it in. Been a bit since I did it I’ll have to go back and check

I have to try this new version. I have seen another video where we can clearly see the video out working. I find that totally amazing !

It was pretty solid when it first released 3 years ago. There have been a lot of changes since then

Love this device, can't get enough of it and will probably buy another one. I'm supposed to buy a RG35XX SP but it's a bit overpriced for what I'm looking for which is just retro 2d gamings, and also RG35xx looks bulky and not pocketable that much.
The 35xxSP is really nice as well. Often it's about $10 more than the v90 if you can find the right sales. I would say both are great but though the sp is a little bigger it offered a lot more

Yeah it’s been beta since the start of the year. I think it’s because there is 2 different builds with slight variations

Went back to the original for speed of use!
Why mgba? Is worse then GPsp? GPsp retro Arch can do full speed, with little sound latency
I was testing each. I had mGBA setup in Retroarch
@@CellPhish this beta insane specially for Windows computers. I did never used retro Arch on V90 but i have a stand Alone build with All the materials from retro game corps. Can you for the love God explain me how do i make the GPsp emulator get the right BIOS gba_bios.bin instead of the damn normatt. Please?
It says "this is not probably a real BIOS" and there boots with normatt.

powkiddy is killing me. if they just did a refresh with a better chip and software that already comes on some of their other devices this thing would outsell any other clamshell coming out this year. give the people what they want!! i really want a v90 but i just dont think im up to the task of doing all of this

Why did powkiddy use such a low spec chip for the v90? Heck a cheap quad core arm chip is still cost effective compared to this single core CPU.
Im Not for sure but I’m going to guess it’s because it came out 3 years ago and has been selling with chip in it since. I made a prediction when the Anbernic RG35XXSP was announced that we will finally see a refresh of the v90

Arcade game not work for me and literally a lot of thing just not works for me. now back to 1.3.3 firmware again. Work better
Did you install the independent emulators for the systems that aren’t working?
@@CellPhish tried tht and also from retroarch core. None of them seem to work. So im curious if other people can make it works on firmware 2.0

There have been some attempts. In theory Garlic2.0 will work when it’s complete if there is a bootloader provided for it
@@CellPhish yea. But for this simple little handheld, minui would be perfect. I have it running on my rg35xx and rgb30 and miyoo mini.

Just fyi, you cam hit the 3 little dots and change the playback speed to slow it down a little.
ps1 games is lot worse to this firmware than 1.3.3 the old firmware works better than 2.0
I’ve had a similar experience. I have been able to dial it in but the is a beta so to be expected
@@CellPhish i agree hope it will improve drastically and i know its impossible for the v90 but i wish it can emulate nintendo ds as well that would be awesome
Maybe. Did you guys add the bin files?
I havent figured out where to add them, but that usually causes crappier ps1 performance.
