Am I the only person that every so often ends up rewatching all of these? They’re just so damn good. Shame that you left Pilot, I get why but we all miss you
I'm late to the party I know but why did pilot leave?
@@JimmyEss got a job working on star citizen, that was after he got bored of elite
understandable, have nice day sir
Not just you, that's for sure.
No I do every so often. :)
I like to think it's called The Vulture because if it's after you, you're already dead.
Don’t try it, these are bots
@Santino Finley imagine thinking a bot had a gf xD
A wild Splatty has appeared!
Carry on! o7
That's a good one 👌🏽
I like that

"I only have to hit you once, Dex nerd."
As a long time Eagle pilot can confirm... Though come at with when I am in my max engineered railgun and plasma accelerator build and see who's laughing.
@@gemmasterian4496 you mean imperial eagle? Eagles dont have size 2 hard points so they can't use PAs.
@@brianlam5847 oh shit your right I was having a mix of memories.

My five year old daughter helped me customize my Vulture’s looks. Lots of pink and purple is involved. I look fabulous while killing pirates...
Awwww that was very sweet of you. Dad of the year 10/10
This puts a smile on my face.
LOL That's awesome!
Ha. This guy will be a push over in that cotton candy ship.

How do I get some mean mother hubbard to buy our expensive Federation manufactured ships?
The answer - use a gun.
And if that don't work, use more gun!
Three major references in there. That was the hard one. Nice. :-)
@@ThePilot_ One of which I assume was the Lobo reference I take it? Heh. The Main Man always gets his mark.
@@McDonaldWilliamT You got it. :-)
Whenever I watch these I want to change my current ship to whatever it is you're reviewing. If you're not in sales you should be!
Right!!
I feel the same way.
"Like bringing a gun, to a game of rock, paper, scissors.." 😂 Jesus
Rock Paper Scissors *BAM*
It isn't rock paper scissors SHOOT for no reason
I honestly like the engine noise of the Vulture. Makes me feel like i’m piloting the equivalent of an armored muscle car.
Agreed. It sounds downright filthy, nasty, and condescending while powerful, and I love it.
1Maccabee Amen, it’s certainly my go-to for bounty hunting.
It's growing on me. At first, I was surprised to realize it was the Vulture making that crazy sound. I thought my dishwasher was broken.
It sounds like the Hell's Angels doing their laundry...
If Vipers are the exotic supercars, then the vulture is the 1960’s V8 Muscle Car lmao
It’s awesome
Vulture is life. Vulture is love.
I remember outfitting my first one. I gave it a pair of the biggest fixed cannons I could squeeze in there. It was like a midget shoulder-firing a pair of bazookas. Absolutely bonkers and WAY more fun than it had any right to be.
What weapons did you use? I just bought my first and put 2 plasma accelerators on it. Having heat problems?
@@Stephendsilva1 Like I said in my comment, cannons. Fixed, not gimballed.
Low power requirements, no extra heat, massive damage. Hard to aim though.
@@KickstandOptional i think im gonna try that myself or maybe frag cannons and just keep in close.
I have a soft spot for cannons even though everyone says they suck. They are easier to hit with and have a better rate of fire than PAs for fixed at least. I think gimballed cannons are very user friendly, but the damage drop-off is noticeable. I ran a mamba with pulse lasers and a huge fixed cannon for a while just for fun and it was brutal.
"the solution to the problem of people shooting at you, was to just use more gun"
straight facts right there
The NRA approves this message lol
The name never really stuck with me but I just figured it was the next step in the 'Bird' line. Condor eagle and vulture. Though none of them really seem to fit the ships in size, killing potential, or even combat role.
Unlike the 'Snake' groups where you can get a decent idea of danger level just from the name.
Jeff Y and also to be fair condors and vultures are pretty much the same bird 🤣
They should have given it long, swept-forward wings. That would really make it look like a vulture.
It's funny. An asp would be more dangerous than a python in the animal world. And there is no specific breed called viper. Viper simply refers to any venomous snake. I can't wait to see what the Coral ship line is going to look like.
I wonder why not after mythological animals.
Imagine a ship by Falcon DeLacy named “Griffon” or “Firedrake”.
@@andrewpena9041 Rather late in reply, but anyway - the Asp was that ship in the original game - faster than anything else, and its lasers hit harder than anything else (except the Constrictor, but that was a one-off mission ship), and it was tough too. No idea why it got repurposed into an explorer for FE2.
Love your reviews man. Feels like I'm shopping luxury cars.
Imperial Cutter next? :D
Lifestyles of the Rich and dangerous
Yea, I love my mining cutter!!
mmm, we all have the same plan...
Cutter.
@@bulletstop100
Same here. Mining Cutter is the only way to fly :)
This is the kind of combat vehicle I adore. It's like the A10 warthog. "We've got these really great guns. Let's build a ship around them."
So I did a normal progression. Sidey > Viper > Cobra > Asp > Python. I had bought a vulture and hated the power system and thought "this is crap" sold it and moved on. Now I've unlocked all the engineers I need I've taken another look at the Vulture. What a difference once you've engineered it. This review is spot on, the thing is a beast, but it really does absolutely need to be engineered.
I've recently bought the Vulture, a-rated it and fell in love instantly. A few days ago I started engineering it and now I love it even more... I'm a total noob in combat but this little beast certainly wants me to win fights... Yarrrr
This was why I saved up for a vulture and not other perfectly good combat ships . Just need to out fit it and then start using it . Ive got high hopes
Overcharging the power plant by even one level turns the vulture into a murder machine.
@@VespoLiveGaming ive got gimballed dual beams on it because my aim is quite bad in this game engineered them with efficient beam and thermal venting and when both beams hit long enough my windows freeze over the run incredibly cool and can fire endlessly the downside is the powerplant on this ship it needs upgrades badly if you want to run shield banks to
@@danielstokker thermal vent has another fun side effect.. when you cool down that much, it is harder for enemies to lock onto you.. and can even break lock. If you go with clean drive tuning, and low emissions power plant, you can turn most ships into a stealth fighter.
@@VespoLiveGaming the vulture is, despite the fact that it shouldn't be, excellent at this
Tuesdays are rapidly becoming my favorite day of the week
Tomorrow we're getting another video!
I think the vulture sounds like a space mustang or some kind of muscle car
Looks and sounds like... a computer trying to imitate a musclecar?? As I drive a musclecar in real life, I think its why I fell in love with this ship and its sound.
@@freighttrain7143 wait till you get the Vulture's thicker, sexier sister, the Fer De Lance
@@admiralrng6506 Keep talking. Slower. Yeeeessss
I don't call it a successful RES run in this noisy bird unless I'm flying to the station on life support.
I loved this one. I laughed at every wisecrack.
Gotta love those Core Dynamics canopies. Especially since I have a bad habit of throwing my Vulture at opponents like it's a brick LOL
I learned to avoid those head on engagements real quick. Any skilled pilot worth their salt can crack the canopy in a few short seconds
Lost count at how many times I have watched your ship videos while waiting in line at the DMV, the bank or the doctor's office. They never get old!
The Vulture seems to me to be the E:D universe's equivalent of the WWII P-38 Lightning: Not a fighter-vs-fighter interceptor or scout but an escort craft, designed to pace large primary vessels and then take down attackers with a lethal first blow before its drawbacks become an issue.
Man, this reminds me that I have an unengineered Vulture just parked in a station somewhere, waiting for me to finish it up. I've been wanting another combat ship to try out, so I might need to get on to that sooner rather than later...
Don't forget to send those glorious pictures you do!
I got the "butterfly" decals on mine. I call mine "The Mighty Monarch".
*Curse you, Doctor Venture!*
I’ve been looking forward to see this ship covered, even with all the ships I own it’s one of my favourite combat ships, and it was my go to if I got bored of the big 3...then came the Krait MK2, with both of these ships ridiculously engineered my mk2 is ALMOST as manoeuvrable as my vulture, it just feels dirty being able to dog vultures with ease even more so with a fighter bay.
Also for new Cmdr’s; if you love combat, the vulture is a must, unengineered it’s a good ship as long as you’re careful with your shields and paper thin canopy, power management is key, and as said in the video, give it some love engineer the absolute hell out of it and it turns into a monster.
I dont know how to engineer anything... Do i need a specific rank or resurces or a spacestation i need to land on? Im sooooo lost with engineering..
@@BLACKFLAME4941 I hope you have picked up on how to do the Engineering grind in Elite Dangerous, but just in case you haven't.. Google and RUclips are your friend. Check out the tutorials by Exigeous. Type "4" and check out the Engineers section to see which you can access,
@@jrobertsbrewer yeah i did. Already engineered a couple of multicanons
I bought the Vulture today and got the canopy cracked first time in a high Res site. Lmao
I know I am late to the party, but I love your (ED) videos and watching this one, I finally understood why. You have an amazing talent for picking the exact best intro music for every one of these ships. Aside from your excellent analysis and commentary, I mean. Thanks for your efforts. I hope you can put some time into the possible new ships coming, whenever they arrive.
Another great job.
It would be awesome if Frontier added the start of your reviews, like the cinematic shots, in game as like trailers for each of the ships.
Would Like to see the Federal Corvette sometime soon :)
That would be awesome...
On the other hand, people complaining that there is so little in game have not understood that Elite _is_ as much about content creators. Individuals with a passion for the game, people who create content that they themself want, not content the design department made.
Elite Dangerous does not end when you exit the game, it just changes format.
This video may or may not have inspired me to name my Vulture “The Main Man.”
I remember fitting my two laser beams on it melting pirate's generators years ago.
Aaaah.
Good old time.
Nice just bought one last night and fitted it for bounty hunting. Took out a Python and an Anaconda in a HazRes zone on my first outing.
“Hornet” might have been a good name - have you ever seen the size of Asian Giant Hornets? Yeah, they’re terrifying.
Omfg you named it spacehog I fucking love you.
"I'll have to get myself some wrap-around sunglasses and a leather jacket without sleeves. the Main Man always gets his target."
oh, he's referencing the comic book character Lobo.
you're fraggin' right!
The ship that makes you realise... it's not about the size, it's about the thrust.
My Vulture
571m/s active shields of 1700-2000 MJ (after resistances)
Fixed Burst Lasers with Inertial Impact and Efficient engineering.
Everything engineered and Grade A in core modules.
Only thing lacking is KWS which is a B. It's not even that necessary.
The Vulture, more like the "eat anything in the way, and spit out the chunks warbird". Love my Vulture, the first real combat ship in game, for combat. No matter what role you choose. Thank you again for another spot on video. You rock Pilot.
Just got my Vulture today - thanks in no small part to your video, for introducing me to it - and I am already in love. I was finding the 2x small and 2x medium hardpoints on the Diamondback Scout to be underpowered, and these large hardpoints were just what I needed.
Thanks
The Vulture.... I may have a Corvette but it'll Never replace the one that brought me into the wonderful world of bounty hunting
"the solution to the problem of people shooting at you, was to just use more gun" had me rolling XD
I would love to hear that full rant near the end
Favorite ship in Elite, hands down! I fell in love with it the day I took down a Federal Corvette in PVP when all I had engineered were the Multi-Cannons. Since then... PURE ENJOYMENT (as long as I have ammo)
This is the type of ship Jeremy Clarkson would design in a Grand Tour challenge. "More power!"
Loving the analyser videos of available ships.
Looking forward to the Corvette which I recently bought and engineered for just over 800 Mill.
Careful now, it's difficult to stop at one...
Helped my friend who was new to the game put together his vulture. It was tough working around the limited power without engineering but i was able to get a build he seemed to like.
I named mine Assault Brick.
It's literally a thruster set with some big guns bolted on top. The the designer remembered it needs other parts and fit them on wherever.
I actually really appreciate your writing. 💯 one word to describe your writing style “finesse”
Watched a few of your vids and while I clicked on this one I went "Alright, 100 bucks says the music choice for the opening will be metal or rock."
Thanks.
Any chance we can get an un-cut version of the "you can't give it a stupid name" rant LOL
Love your videos man, keep it up.
The cockpit resembles a downward facing "beak" situated between a pair of shoulders. It at least resembles a vultures head, neck, and shoulders in that regard. Such a damn vicious ship.
I have a Fed Gunship, an FDL, a Chieftain, a Corvette, a Python, a Krait II, and a Vulture. With a little engineering, nothing-nothing-is more fun to fly combat with than the Vulture. Like yours, it’s an all MC build.
Oh man, that name rant was *killing* me! I think it's the Vulture because you are picking at the remains of your dead foes. Also the ship's head (cockpit) is featherless, keeping it easy to clean and free of viscera...
Ok, maybe just the first thing...😅
I love it. And I definitely agree about the name. First time I saw it, before looking at the name, I actually called it a Scarab. Because you're right. That's what it looks like. But for me, it's easy to overlook a name that doesn't fit, when I'm sitting on so much power.
Dream ship: a slightly larger vulture with 2 class 4 hard points.
OR.
class 3 railguns on a vulture.
Love the vulture. Easy when you get your head around power management.
This is the video that made me buy this tiny, yet beastly Assassin! My little Chernobog, which I thought I'd leave in Colonia, opened up perfectly the moment the Power Plant got engineered and now its my go to Combat vessel which I brought back to the Bubble. Low Rebuy, easy outfitting are just some of the perks.
You remind of Michael C. Hall's rendition of Dexter detailing his sublime but so methodically effective capability of rending people that deserve the death they are about to receive.
It's the Vulture because it scoops up the scraps of your opponents so efficiently. Scooping is a breeze in this ship.
"And makeing money off their corpses" huh, I never thought of it that way
Can't wait for the next review. You make it easy to sit back and relax and listen about some of my favourite ships.
Thanks!
Excellent video as always mate. Interesting how many people saw a scarab in their naming of the ship. I called mine the Cockroach, then I painted it blue which is very topical at the moment but also somewhat cryptic for anyone not from certain parts of Australia, New Zealand, a few northern English towns and New Guinea (never forget New Guinea). Also personally confusing as my preference runs more to toads myself.
I will be interested to know if your able to work this out Mr Pilot😁. Keep making great videos
I totally agree with you that you will learn combat with this one! The ship ist fast and quite forgiving. While I just exploded in my Viper ever few minutes, the Vulture teached me how to deal with all the stuff there is to combat. First time my canopy was destroyed and I had 5 minutes left to reach a starport we both went trough fire. Using one class 3 beam laser and class 3 autocannon solved my energy problems. The Vulture earned 3 up to 11 million per Tour and is solely responsible for outfitting 2 ships (80 million). I'm no match to experienced players but this ship is well done. And fun!!! 😃
came across your video's last night started watching them all, love the way you have done these videos.
In the days before engineering I used to run my Vulture with a burst laser and a cannon. It's very satisfying seeing the cannon rounds hit and cause a tonne of damage
Hey commander. Another great video. I mainly get around on trading and exploration but the one fighter I do own is the vulture. To which I completely agree with all you've said. Fantastic with all kinds of weapons. That ship was the first time I got my hands on a large weapon platform. o.O the POWER!! O7
"It is, in short, like bringing a gun to a game of Rock Paper Scissors."
Pure Gold. This is my favorite ship next to the DBX. I haven't gotten past these two, not sure I want to. :)
Vulture sure is a lot of fun. Currently running 2x G5 3A fixed efficient beams w/ thermal vent and weapon-focused PD. Don't even need heatsinks when using SCB as the beams ice up the ship in a hurry. Takes a bit to wear down hulls on med-large ships but small ships get shredded and nobody's shields are safe.
I haven't flown the Vulture since the early days but the main reason I moved away from it was the ease at which my canopy kept getting smashed, every other fight would require me to head back to a station to get it patched up, really made use of that life support more than any other ship.
The Vulture is such an awesome little ship. Been toying around a little with different weapons and my current favourite is 2x Pacifier Frag Cannons with Overcharged and Screening Shell. Have to synthesize ammo in prolonged sessions but it's not overly expensive. Fun to change it up once in a while, too.
The Viper is the ship you bring to a fight, the Vulture is the ship you bring to kick ass, and the FDL is the ship you bring to be seen doing it.
I recently got my vulture and I was getting a little bit disappointed, but after watching your video again. I am going to work on getting it engineer now. Thanks!
Ahhh the Vulture. It turns scrubs into pros and pros into gods, and its only weakness is ammo.
When fleet carriers arrive I am so totally building one of these again. Imagine parking your carrier right inside the RES so you're 2 boosts away from a rearm and just killing and killing for hours :D
You fiend
I bought ED at Steam years ago, but after i watched these videos on a past week, i finally installed ED and started a tutorials. Sure, nobody needs tutorials, until something will go wrong, but i`d like to learn a bit how this works, because it looks very cool and complicated for me. Keep up, good work!
All the Featured Channels I've listed on the right side will get you through a lot of the more complicated stuff. Have fun, man!
I feel like I'm watching a colin noior gun review
Dude.. you have the best vids man. This video made me feel so nostalgic on when I first started my life in the black. Keep up the badass work, broski.
When took a vulture into combat for the first time, I was surprised by how maneuverable it was. Also I love the sounds it makes.
We should do the same thing that the combat pilot community did in real life with the F-16. Nobody in their right mind calls this bird a Fighting Falcon. They call it Viper. Which sounds awesome.
So, the Vulture shall be the Mantis or Mantis Shrimp now. Because it looks like an insect and it has two giant weapons to swing at the enemy.
Great video. Great ship. Definitely recommend engineering it to get the max out of it though. I think they should have called it the MANTIS! Small yet deadly.
The Vulture is what I made my money with even before Engineers came to the galaxy. It was a beast then, and it is ridiculously beastly now that i've fully engineered it in all G5 mods. This thing is insane. Buy it if you haven't yet! Also..... great video!
One of my favorite ships in the game. The flying gun. I've got a fully engineered Corvette but the I spend more Haz Res time flying my Vulture because it's way more fun.
Been playing since gamma. Saw the vid pop up and thought "meh just another ship review channel" Watched for 2mins and sub's.
Nice sir, you brought something new and refreshing to the ship review field.
Now I'm gona go grab a vulture and revisit that tough lil pug
Its like the Defiant's angrier, smaller cousin
My favourite bounty hunting ship! the timing of the pulse lasers at the start 😂😂
Cannons, whoops
Never stop making videos like this, you've earned this subscriber.

Like a small ode to the lucas arts games of old when you rambled on about the name, brilliant !
I'm Commander Cloudhopper and this is my favourite Ship Review at Jameson Memorial.
Nice video dude, but I prefer the name "Vulture" to scarab or an insect.
The vulture is a bird that by nature is convenient and efficient. It takes advantage of situations and keeps ALIVE!
Do remember that Vultures also use urine as a way to keep themselves cool by urinating on themselves, so this is the proper way to use Plasma accelerators and Burst Lasers and still keep cool.
Hope this helps 😂😂😂
watching this whilst bounty hunting in my own little sidewinder on steroids
As a new Elite player I honestly enjoyed all of your videos, this one in particular. Very well done! 😎
I quite liked the last sentence describing the ship :)
Once I engineered mine it came alive . There isnt one ship in the game you cannot take down in either a CZ or Res site . I like the whistle its engines make when using the thrusters . Especially in space dock . That echoing " phwweeeuup " sound is like taking a ferrari or super sports bike through a tunnel at high revvs.
I loaded up the game after 3 years, jumped in my not even A rated Vulture, rolled into the Haz Rez and cleaned house like I'd never been gone. Then I went and fully engineered it and I am now a god. You don't need more combat ship than this, you may choose to have more as something to spend your bounty credits on, but it's a luxury you don't need.
Finally my favorite ship is here! Anyway awesome video bro, keep up the good work
Fun fact, it’s called the vulture because it sifts through the wreckage of its kills like a vulture through carrion, if you find a debris field theres a good chance it was made by a vulture and theirs one lurking nearby.
FRESH! You have convinced me to pick one of these up when I make it to Colonia. Speaking of which, after you get bored with ship reviews, how about some location or profession reviews?
I'll think about it. Thanks!
Definitely worth a sub. I skipped this ship and I'm not much of a combat pilot but this makes me want to go back and learn how so I can feed on the corpses of my enemies.
Good review. Should've been called the Scorpion.
Another great video for another great ship. Just got back after a trip and what a welcome return.
I called mine Stoffel after Stoffel the honey badger because its a fierce little fighter.
Stoffel is now fully engineered to overcome the power supply shortcomings as is waaaaay better.
Old Mother Hubbard went into her cubbard to find her Vulture a bone , but when she bent over , she found out the Vulture had a bone of his own.
There once was a man from Elises...
The Pilot who once had a very large 9@N! $! It was so large that no one would believe this! Until he whipped it out of his cockpit parked next to venus.
Your videos are seriously top notch quality. I'm super impressed.
My old vulture loadout was a a beam Lazer to melt shields and a cannon to punch holes
I used a pulse laser and beam laser combo. That is a really good combo, because the power distributor has just enough juice left over to keep continued fire on the pulse laser and have the beam laser be effective
