No worries. Respect for the epic build. :-)

I love the mamba. Can you link some of your builds please?

hop over on the discord and i can custom tune a build for you tho
Today on Top Drive: Richard fights a Thargoid, James discovers Raxxla, and I fly a mamba around a space station.
I totally read this in Jeremy's voice
Immediately heard Jeremy’s voice lmao
HAMMOND YOU IDIOT YOU REVERSED INTO THE SPACE MAMBA
Same here lol
MEN OF CULTURE, *UNITE*
The Mamba is a ship you put tons of work into because you saw it and immediately fell in love with how it looked.
That's true but unfortunately I could never get the damn thing to be a comfortable PVP ship. I just don't like how the laterals function. You can do a lot of unpredictable jousting in it and you have to stay fa off but because of the laterals plasma accelerators are very difficult to use. It's a good fragmentation Cannon build or something for Canyon races Maybe. I've got three of these damn thing is in my garage and don't know what to do with them. They do look cool as shit though LOL
Do you know me from somewere ?
And then hated that it only jumped 8 lys
I don't pvp yet, I mean my mamba is completely engineered and ready for it but I just haven't grasped FA off yet. But with small rails, large frags and an efficient PA, it sure is fun
Like my Firebird
I'm thinking that the dev's at Frontier are Douglas Adams fans, and had the following quote from The Restaurant at the End of the Universe in mind when they designed this ship: "I was passed by one of these mothers once, out by the Axel nebula. I was going flat out, and this thing just strolled past, stardrive hardly ticking over. Just incredible." Zaphod whistled appreciatively. "Ten seconds later, it smashed straight into the third moon of Jaglan Beta." "Yeah, right?" "Amazing looking ship, though. Looks like a fish, moves like a fish, steers like a cow."
Lol🤣🤣 I've got to read these books. They've been sitting on my shelf for over a decade. When I do read them, they are going to ruin one of my favorite movies. Maybe it will inspire me to get back into the grind. o7
@@kayaich3992 The HHGTTG movie? You do realise that the continuity of that particular franchise is all over the place, what with the original radio-play's, the books, the TV series and the movies all being deliberately twisted versions of each other, all mutually contradictory in many places? Enjoy each on their own merits, that's my advice :-)
the books are great, but so too are the original BBC production, the film, not so great. But that's maybe because I was a teenager when I saw and read the first offerings, and they were quite a departure from most fayre of the day.
It’s been years since I read the books but one of my favourite parts is when the guide describes the fastest spaceship in the universe. This ship is run on bad news because, as everyone knows, nothing travels faster. The only problem was that it became incredibly unpopular as whenever it turned up it only had bad news for everyone! Ha ha, Douglas Adams was a very funny guy!
@@nralbers see, you get it. I am always very annoyed when someone says "eew but its not like the book at all"
If only looks could kill was a glorious line...
Thanks. :-)
@@ThePilot_ ya, excellent writing for this video
PayrollTips but Heat can ! :D
I killed four people back-to-back in one of those things but when it comes to people with decent pvpskillz they take advantage of it or lateral movement. Also don't ever get caught with a ram while you're in that thing LOL the laterals make it where plasma accelerators and pacifier fragmentation cannons are more difficult to use than need be. It is great for high-speed unpredictable jousting but I just can't make the damn thing work in a way that makes me happy. I've got three of those things in my garage LOL. All of them have kick ass paint jobs and look like showroom old school Corvettes but that's about it. They are pretty.
It should be about 25 to 50 meters per second faster. The piss-poor laterals could be compensated for by additional speed.
You forgot to mention the ungodly scream of the engines. They want you to boost ... constantly. I love them, it's their their sound, their presence, their POWA.
How to pop mach 3 in one direction flip around and go mach 3 in the other
Yeah I keep 4 pips on engines as much as I possibly can.
Because reasons.
But you have to engineer it all the way to at least make it move as fast as it sounds.
The Mamba is clearly inspired and based on the more than one and half thousand years ago Lamborghini Countach, for his owner is indifferent how useful it is, the only things that matters are style and coolness, in both of those she takes the highest score; his owner doesn't want to do the awful thing called work he wants only to reach the next party in whatever space station it is with style to reach his beloved spirits and cocaine.
cocaine? you mean onionhead
Didn't Lamborghini also build a racing car wich was directly called Mamba?
@@jonaselze9316 Nah, all Lamborghini sports cars are named after Spanish bullfighting breeds
It really is more akin to a Lexus LC500 than a Lambo tbqh. It looks cool, it sounds angry, but there are faster, lighter cars out there.
So, space hookers, space narcotics, and running from the space cops?
Sounds good for some of those more … interesting … passenger missions, then.
You can park it under a star and fuel scoop- heat never goes about 62%. Means you can fit a class 2 scoop and travel longer range. Basically it's a long range fighter like the P51 Mustang to the FDL's Spitfire. Both had the same Merlin engine.....
Fit two scb's and try again
An eight a and a one e fuel scoop weigh the same
_Sees the thumbnail:_ Oooh _Hears the music 4 seconds in:_ *YES*
_Edit after watching the video all the way through:_ But can you imagine if racing was a supported game type broken up by ship size? How awesome would that be? Frankly, for me, speed isn't everything in the builds. I built ghost giraffe's viper and I like it less than my own custom racing eagle because something that pulls super tight corners is more fun for me to fly than a straight dragster.
Agreed, this game has the ships for it. It totally needs an official space race mode. It wouldn't even just be Mambas. You would see lots of experimentation with vipers, cobras, eagles, couriers, etc and how each handles racing
r/eliteracers is where races are organised. Great fun.
@@BenYork-UBY Could you imagine a zone like in CQC, and with small corridors that could shave time off your laps but require more agile/smaller ships to make it through?

We built this city on rock and roll
Pretty sure Freddie would have loved this ship. R.I.P.
I for one am absolutely in love with my Frag Mamba and believe the ship was designed from the ground up for a jousting role. Don't try to fly it like an FDL! If you want to do that, just use an FDL. You need to play to the Mamba's strengths for it to be effective.
When people saw me coming at them with my mamba, they laughed. As to why the laughed, well, you won't get their side of the story because they aren't around anymore.
lol poor mamba , sexy but futile?
People sleep on the Mamba as a dangerous ship. Frag build let’s you overengineer the shit out of the shields and engines tho. Balances the turning noticably, and you’re going faster than any other ship in the class. Few jousts with the frags and most ships are bleeding before your shields are even in the red.
I can't get over the FDL's cockpit and the Mamba is just one of those perfect ships inside and out. You'll need to learn to FA off eventually because most likely your enemy already has.
*tries to retract the landing gear* - "Do'h!"
Is the landing gear bug still in the game?!?
@@darkner7769 Last time I checked, it's still bugged
Still has the best cockpit view in the whole game, and that alone is reason to use it over the fer-de-lance's skewed and blocked cockpit
The type series has the best cockpit views in the game imo. You can see everything
At least the best fighter jet style cockpit in the game, besides the Courier.
I do mostly fly it for its looks. It's heavily engineered and I have to accept its flaws. I'd like it to be as exceptional as it looks, but to me it's worth it not to have a metal pole in front of my face. :D
The Mamba corners like it's on rails.
Unfortunately they're the ones running dead east-west across Oklahoma.
To be honest, Mamba before the nerfs was quite bad, but after the nerf and with a lot of engineering, the ship can actually hold against the FDL, providing that you don't try to fly it like you would fly the FDL.
You mean 'buffs'
@@pimentarules9826 Yep but they made a lot of a difference, IMO.
Absolutely not the best ship fresh out of the box. Mamba takes some time & lovin'. Engineered, its got 2 big boy guns on it's shoulders & a monster in the middle that you can put to work in the cz all day. It's a pilot's pilot ship for the stick & rudder men who just need a fighting chance & a shot of whiskey.
Solid video as always
The FdL is still quite superior.
@@EvilMerlin If you're a one dimensional pilot that can't change tactics to suit the ship, then yes. In all other cases, not at all.
@@EvilMerlin A Frag Mamba is absolutely and objectively superior for jousting attacks; imo it's basically what the Mamba was built to do.
@@spaceonisorceress4406 Boring.
@@EvilMerlin To each their own! Fly whatever works for you :)
I look at this ship and see an American WW2 heavy fighter. Not in appearance, but in purpose. Approach fast, hit really hard for a short time, fly out of range before they can do anything about it. Put simply, boom ‘n’ zoom.
I'm sure most know that lateral/vertical thrust differs ship-to-ship, though unwritten.
And many likely know that that includes max thrust speed as well as thrust acceleration/deceleration. A ship may have higher max thrust, but takes longer to reach that speed than a ship with lower max thrust.
But......all of those values are also affected by FA off/on.....not just forward and reverse. Pitch, yaw, roll, lateral, vertical, fore, and aft may differ in FA off.
Exploring these dynamics is never a waste of time, and can reveal a niche unfilled by any other craft.
And sometimes you can just make your own niche.
Fly nasty you bastards!
FA Off is what turned the Gunship from a decent shooty brick, into an AC-130 in space.
getting a mamba to do well is alot of work, but it is one of the most rewarding experiences in Elite. getting that perfect set up just feels good

How are things at the border?
The funny thing is that, actually, the hardpoints ARE different IF you're using MCs, because the spinup time on a Class 3 is way too long, and the damage on a Class 1 is way too low. Class 4 and Class 2 MCs are the best MCs by far because they strike a reasonable balance between damage and spinup (especially the Class 4 because it seems to be instant.)
With lasers, no difference, sure. But with MCs the Mamba has one of those "invisible on paper" advantages that you still shouldn't ignore. That said, a properly build Krait, Python, or even Chieftain can easily kill one. For a ship that's supposed to be best of breed for combat, it just...isn't. It's not bad, no way. But when a multirole ship costing half as much can kick your ass and still jump 45ly, you've done something wrong.
Well said
Large MCs have 50% more dps, which offsets slightly longer spool up time if you know how to fly and put your guns on target. Not to mention you can pre-spool them, again comes with some skill and experience. Also, class 1 hardpoints are great for utility use such as corrosive effect MC. Meaning you don't sacrifice as much of your damage output for using it.
Mamba has plenty of dedicated pilots who love it and put it to great use. It has found it's way into PVP, and is a fearsome opponent.
In my opinion the Mamba is not a dueling combat ship. It's doable but not ideal. Where the Mamba really shines is in wing fights. It is perfect for the Interceptor role.
She's intended to equipped with frags with boosts and screams.
Dude that music at the start fits the mamba so well.
When i first started watching these reviews i thought you sounded familiar, I've had sorta heard your tone and commenting "demeanor" before and then it hit me, you are the Anthony Bourdain of Elite Dangerous, with a pinch of Zero Punctuation - Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw, love it!
"The Mamba is in almost every regard a little inferior to the FDL why do you even use it?"
Something many CMDRs have asked me before. Here is my rebutal.
Because. As a CMDR . There is ONE thing I cannot endure for long on a combat ship.
Off. Center. Seats.
I can deal with it for mining or salvage. But not combat.
They can all argue I should be flying an FDL instead of this.
No. I will not.
I have never bought. Nor will I ever buy, An FDL.
I will sacrifice that small amout of performance (which is mostly negated with intelligent engineering anyways).
Just to have that center line seat as I blow someone up.
And on top of it.
It's not just a big space t riangle. It's got style.
The Mamba.
What the FDL should have been look wise and seat wise.
I prefer the Mamba to the FerD. The top mounted huge works better for me and at least for me is easier to control
I may be late, but it seems like the Mamba's one of those hit-and-run assassins: Get in, kill the 1-3 things you need to, boost away and get out.
Whereas the FDL is more of the prolonged brawler, and can stay and fight so long as she has ammo and some recovery time.
That's sounds accurate to me. I use mine to clean house and be on my merry way before anyone even realizes their hulls are missing.
Tonight on top drive: James crashes a Type 10 while trying to speedbowl, John sets his home base in Samen and I outfit my mamba with force shell cannons
I looove these videos .. thanks!
If the FDL had a center seat in the cockpit, it'd be nigh perfect for a lot of things; but that and the paintjob make me want Mamba :O
I recently had a friendly fire incident with my Frag Mamba, so I renamed it to "Dick Cheney".
5:10 is the start of one of the most badass moves i've ever seen in this game.
Badass move of exploding and dying?
Qualit of videos is always top notch. But the information and delivery is also amazing.
Always suprising and refreshing
Let the haters hate. I will fly the unfriendly skies in my golden mamba.
Mamba with the gold skin in VR is about the most gorgeous thing I've ever flown. I used it for some exploration for a while cause just looking at it made the trip worthwhile.
Also: White thrusters, a purple HUD with white shields, and your favorite trinket on the dash compliments the gold so well.
Yes the Mamba is lovely in VR. I did the entire DW2 trip in one. Mine is all white with blue engine trails.
@Mr Smiley Sorry but my opinion is it sucks lol. Im just so triggered by the camera on a stick thing on the front of the ship. Its especially noticable when night vision is on.
Just started playing Elite and just found your videos. I love the character of these ship reviews.
Sometimes performance isn't everything. I really like the Mamba for the looks and _ESPECIALLY_ for it's Non-OCD-Inducing Cockpit.
Which is the one thing that I hate about the Fer-De-Lance.... so much, that I can't love it - decpite being the (arguably) best (medium) combatship in Elite.
3x Plasma Accelerators (Efficient/Plasma-Slugs), 2 xmall turreted thermal vent beams (which I consider switching for MC's) , a lot of Guardian Shieled Boossters and some extra tanks is how I have equiped my Mamba.
Heavily enginered of cause.
It is a blast to hunt down ships in between the asteroids of a HazREZ.
It is not a highly effective bounty hunting ship (compared to other combat ships), but it is FUN.
Provided you are descent at flying FA/off.
(Which you should practice while mining for void opals... this is a good and fun opportunity to learn FA/off - just saying.)
I just can't get a hang of flying faoff, I just overcompensate or undercompensate or wind up barreling about like I just hit a jetstream.
Correction: I fly better in a jet cone than faoff
Putting Plasma Slugs on a Zorgon Peterson ship is just asking for it to self destruct from an empty tank
When I look at the Mamba I'm reminded of hydroplane racing boats, they have the same kind of pontoon bow with cockpit. And I bought a Mamba, it's named Mystic. LOL
I want to love the ship so bad, the small hardpoints, terrible turning and terrible convergence all combine to just make it not quite good enough.
Ye
I think the mamba should be the fastest ship in game. The thought behind this is that it's a prototype racing ship, it should just have beefed up FDL thrusters.
“I want one.” - Tony Stark
Really good video.
My mamba is one of my main vessels. Shreds an elite NPC conda in two passes as I’ve made a hit and run style ship... 3XPA.
Reaches 600 on boost and top speed around 498. Dirty drives and drag make my mamba turn on a dime! I absolutely love it.
But, you are right, to get it to where it is today, took countless hours on coriolis, testing in game and a lot of variants. Engineers is essential to make this beast work.
Add on: oh and I never have a heat issue anymore! Runs around 28-35 resting.
FDL virgin:
refuses to explore other ships
refuses to explore at all
only cares about the meta
doesn’t care about style, FDL is a space shuttle
Mamba Chad:
REVERSKI

FDL is just a big adder in terms of styling
I was shown these reviews to try and get me to give ED another try after my first attempt was ruined by flight sticks that were unfit for purpose out of the box, and it was *this* video that did it for me.
This one ship I was the reason I spent something like £130 on a flight stick and reinstalled ED.
I got myself an Imperial Eagle as I made my way to the Courier, then used that to save up the bounties I needed at the resource sites just outside Baraniecki Vision. Bought my Mamba, named her Whisper and armed her with multicannons while dressing her up in the trappings of a racer.
And I don't one bit regret skipping over the FDL, or the Crusader. I'm right on the brink of finally setting out to meet the engineers, and finally bring my Mamba up to a competitive spec.
See, Whisper's edge is in the little things.
Fitted with a bi-weave shield she'll tank a few jousts with more agile mediums and then be out of range to recharge before they can get themselves turned around.
Her great cockpit visibility makes it easier to track targets.
She handles like a dream during travel, Whisper is the ship that taught me to take off the supercruise assist module to save weight and power. If I ever need to save a little more, I'm confident I could take off the docking assist too.
And a target flying in a straight line isn't a necessity, just a luxury she enjoys when the pirates try to flee and discover they can't outrun her.
At least in PvE - where my experience is - a little pip juggling, gimballed weapons and one well-timed turn are all she needs to grab hold of an FDL's tail and ride it all the way to its destruction. A little acceleration goes a long way to stay outside their turn, giving you more room to stay behind them.
When it comes down to it, the FDL is unquestionably the friendlier combat ship, that much I'll grant it. An agile ship is more approachable to new combat pilots, and makes it easier to fight when the time comes.
But speed gives you more control over *when* to fight. You just need to know how to use it when the battle begins.
That was by far the best ED ship review I've ever watched
The Mamba, Viper mk3, Imp Clipper & Courier, are all a good case for implementing a kind of either a death race and/or biathlon in space, game modes/features.
Don't forget the Imp. Eagle!
@@shuiyamarissa9010 Dunno, Imp. Eagle is to the Eagle what the Mamba tries to be to the FDL. Faster in a straight line but turns worse, more theoretical firepower, but not the bigger distributor/powerplant to feed them.
It's also notable that the Orca hold the same max speed. Orca is OG
Mamba seems more of a strafing type of fighter, strike target then full thrust out of enemy range before it can get proper bearing on you, then at safe distance turn around and do it again.
They really need to free up some internal slot spaces. Too much sacrificing when choosing optional Internals. ( would LOVE if they put glass on the floor of the Mamba, like the Asp. ). Put a galvanized blue paint job on mine. Prettiest ship I own.
love your reviews. I can understand everything you say and everything you mean. which unfortunately I can't do with other youtubers. and despite being very informational you do a very good job and making everything almost poetic. thank you for being my favorite ED youtuber.
You're very welcome
I just LOVE taking my Racing Mamba to some canyons just to race around, while looking out the beautiful giant canopy. Wonderful.
Thanks for yet another thoughtful and considered ship review, I look forward to your videos every week - and I'd love to see more event collaborations if you can fit them into your schedule too, The Getaway Driver was great fun. Keep up the good work, hope to see you someday out in the black o7
It would probably be useful in a big battle to have a wing of them equipped to do strafing runs into the battle and get out quick before rinsing and repeating.
Pure joy man!
If I actually could choose a ship to fare the galaxy in it’d be this!
Tight and sleek like a fighter but with JUST enough space inside to go on an excursion outside the bubble!
Ah yes. Yet another ship I don’t need.
Alright, you’ve convinced me. I’m buying one
Just wish it had a better jump range so I can use it as a exploration ship. It looks amazing.
I think its a role play ship. I have (had) mine set up for exploring instances. repairing/refueling ships, scanning wakes and just looking like a badass when I show up.
the courier is the real rp ship :)
Tried to make an FDL work for months. Reviews like this made me stay away from the Mamba. But I had a slow weekend so I got one and engineered the hell out of it. Granted, I just do PVE, but I would never go back to an FDL. Once you learn FA off in the Mamba it is lethal and the predatory nature of combat in it is addictive. This is the ultimate fuck around and find out combat ship. Buy one, learn it, and you'll never regret it.
God, I want to love the Mamba. Just wished Frontier had the balls to make it something radically different instead of just a slight sidegraded FDL. I want this thing to be the muscle car of space, even more so than the FDL
Good review as usual but I think it's strange how a large number of people seem to think the FDL is objectively better at everything (or most things) when it's just not true. I get that it's said as a joke sometimes but I also think people should take the time to learn how to use the mamba correctly. I think the issue lies in the fact that they try to fly the 2 ships exactly the same way, which doesn't work obviously. You wouldn't fly a Corvette in the same way as a Type 10 or a cutter, and this is the same thing. People miss out on the Mamba because they are afraid of trying something new and adapting their playstyle to the ships pros and cons.
I saw this video and bought a mamba anyways... mainly for the appearance yes. On paper and in your imagination it makes a badass bounty hunter. I fly in combat with FA off and ive never had the turning issue everyone seems to complain about (it has the same maneuverability as the krait II) i bought this ship expecting bark but no bite. However im not disappointed. Its better than i thought... its just a very niche ship
Wonderful video man! Just bought my mamba last week, and now You've got me inspired to go use it!
"Ganking rig in Deciat" Ahh yes, only the most steely eyed pilots can handle splashing ships as they attempt to undock from Farseer Inc
It's not an endorsement. It's a warning.
@@ThePilot_ I can get behind that.
With some help from Reddit, I actually figured out ONE thing the Mamba excels at in PvE: Assassination missions. Engineered to hell and back, and just _bull-rush_ the target with overcharged and oversized Frag Cannons - just _ending_ the poor sucker instantly and brutally... and even if they survive one pass, the second one will seal the deal. (Even just needs 1 pip in weapons!) Dogfighting? FdL wins. Assassinations? That's where the Mamba can have its niche.
I still want one. It looks cool. And I'm such a terrible combat pilot that if I ever can afford one, its going to be in a hanger and only taken out for spins anyway.
Use multi cannon's on all the hardpoints except the two small hardpoints where gimballed beams will keep you ticking along, this solves overheating and power draw.
Use FA off lots then you have a lovely fast powerfull ship for Bounty Hunting, beauty is if you get into trouble you can outrun anything that can cause you trouble.
i don't care if it's inferior to the fdl on paper. i love the mamba to death. it's pure style strapped to two massive thrusters. i engineered mine to hell and back and it's sheer joy to fly. I'm triple elite, own every ship in the game plus a FC, and when it comes to absolute fun factor this one is my favorite.
well... 5 millions bucks to get the FDL's pilot seat centered. I guess that's one way to do it
I'm 91 hours into the game, and I have my Mamba. Granted, it's completely stock. And I won't be flying it until I've made some more money for parts in my Courier. But I have it. The whole reason I gave the game a chance is finally mine. And God damn does it feel good.
Another cracking video. My mamba runs all beams. Has boost of around 618mps. Has shields for days because while in permanent boost + turning she goes like shit off a stick. Another great video. Glad you're back.
IMO it should have a higher boost speed so it can be an interceptor if you want it to be a combat ship. Even if to get a good lead on boost speed balance would warrant cutting the turn rate.
I fly mine FOR the looks ;)
And for her dominating growl as she fills the dock with thrusters.
wow it feels like im watching a Discovery Channel documentary
I miss this guy!
I love my mamba. Over 3k shields and the hard point placement/ class of hard points suit my style.
The Mamba is a beast. I sold my krait mk2 for it. Bought Shipparts for it, to make it looks like a space racing monster. A masterpiece for all bounty hunters and spice pirates: Get it, blast off and frame out ❤

There is one place in combat that it does shine. Aside from simple beauty. If you have a wing doing combat zones and one of your pilots has a mamba built for speed and range it's fairly easy to chase off opposing commanders once the group gets them to start running. I really wanted to love mine, and the theoretical does is great, but in a fight that is not one sided it can't keep the guns on target well enough to put that down to use. Can you kill stuff? Sure, but how much time do you have to waste on each target while a similar equipped fdl is chewing through everything way faster simply by having the turning speed.
I was able to turn this thing into one hell of a dive bomber, or whatever the space equivalent of a dive bomber is. Load it up with gimbaled lasers, put a cannon on that huge hardpoint and rely on your speed rather than trying to turn fight your opponents and you can tear through any large ship of your choosing. Those breaks between passes let your ship cool off for the next pass while you turn. Careful around those smaller fighters, though
Can we get a Mamba MK II, one that's actually faster and more manoeuverable than the FDL? Keep the lower shields and hull, but actually have it be fast enough to match that speedster look.
Awesome I have something to watch! I'm going to make breakfast right now just to watch this properly.
I forgive the Mamba for all it's short comings over the FDL just for the seating position compared to the FDL's dogs breakfast of a cockpit.
Oh my God I love your channel so much. The intro music was epic also☺️👍🇩🇰
Excellent review. Really told me what I needed to know about this ship when considering it compared to others. =)
just to fly it is fun... but it is only really good as a 3rd or 4th ship to have... But I still love mine.
Still my main ship, though I don’t have much problem with heat, one of my builds that features missiles, I have to really really try to get it to overheat. Really only one of my newer builds, that’s begging to overheat, and it still cools off fairly quickly. Granted I do have a thermal vent beam for that particular build. But still.
Cockpit sold it to me. I can't bear with FDL views, it makes me unconfortable to fly.
another thing that really got me hooked on the mamba would have to be is the sound and when slam the throttle down you see those two thrusters in the from burning, looks great lol
Big love to your videos, you make some of the best ED vids in the Galaxy partner ;) Also, the Mamba looks amazing lol
I treat my Mamba like a Lamborghini. In the right conditions, with a few extra parts and some tweaking, it's an amazing ship to just have fun in
Actually! because Mamba has all hardpoints on top of the ship and around cockpit, makes it much more accurate on target compared with FDL where all hardpoints are under ship and cockpit at the highest distance from them, harder to put all weapons on target.
It's one of the lowest jumpers... but the Cockpit makes it super comfortable for exploration with an almost unrivaled view, just look up~.
I love these videos. It's plain out Ship Porn! Great work as always Pilot, total respect from across the pond......
Mamba is not a CQC ship. It is more like a SNIPER LONG RANGE COMBAT ship, and as said in its in game DESCRIPTION, great at HIT and RUN once enemy shields are down. Make an attack pass, speed away turn around and REPEAT.
The Mamba in the original BBC Micro Elite from 1984 was the go-to pirate ship; not only was it fast... it could turn hard and fast. Fighting those off in my trusty olde Cobra MkIII always made me want to be able to buy and fly another ship. Because in the original you get the Cobra and stick to it. Forever.
I could balance it out easily; just get rid off that level 4 hard point and make it into a 3. Then up the speed two notches and turning a notch as well.
To quote Dr. Gregory House: "Bitchiiiiiiin."
Ah yes, the 80s speedboat put into spaceship form.
Love this ship with a °°°° autocannon on the top. Thing is an animal.
