Having the internet for RUclips videos are fantastic!! So much information out there with other people willing to share their findings. It's a wonderful thing!!
Thanks for the video, it helped me quickly do my speedometer swap. Extra special thanks for mentioning the size of the wrench to use, that's a nice touch.
Thank you!!! You are the best!! I took my whole steering panel apart because I found a bolt on the floor by the gas pedal.. I still had to take it in because it was to my shifter and I couldn't reach it BUT the a$$ho wouldn't put it back together because I had taken it apart.. That was 2 years ago I just found your video and it took me all of 2 hours and it looks good as new ❤
Well, not really. BTW, the odometer wasn't working. I sprayed CRC electrical connector cleaner and reattached the cluster. It now works. I have saved $800 on two clusters because they just needed the connectors cleaned.
Sure does make the old Mercedes and Audi cars look easy. Wedge fit where they just pull right out without removing anything. With the 2002 model the stock stereo head unit doesn't have enough room to get your fingers in there but a wide plastic pry tool gets it off no problem
Yikes, my 2004 XLT doesn't have the cluster surround attached to that next part to the right, so pulling the cluster is way quicker. Just pull the two screws in the top of the surround, drop the wheel all the way down, shift to 1st to give yourself room to slide the surround out, then pull the four screws that actually mount the cluster.
Michelle Smith No I wouldn't think so because you could unhook the cluster and still have use of the windows. I would start checking your fuses and relays. Hope that helps bud
@@Coolvo113 yes because I’m experiencing a buzzing ring similar to a door opening or pressing the buttons on the mid console. It goes on steadily at about 2000 rpm’s about 60 mph. Tried a new cluster to see if that helps. Still getting that beeping behind the cluster. Have no idea it is , maybe something electrical. It’s driving me crazy.
@Coolvo113 I'm not sure yet. I'm just now getting to work on it. I think it's a bulb in the back for illumination to the odometer and info center, but this van has many issues and it's gonna be a work of art probably completely dead by the time I get all the electrical issues worked out for my x wife. Thought I'd do that first before moving on to the lock system. Which the fob or the entry is illuminated, so I know it's a fuse or maybe relay bad, or that's my hopes. But, hack to the illumination issue if the bulb was totally gone, there wouldn't be any visibility, correct? It has very weak illumination, and the dimmer retrostat has no effect...I have to wonder what with all the other issues if it doesn't go deeper.

This video just made me get back something important that slipped behind near speedometer. Thank youuu

Glad I could help you it’s really why I do these video!

It takes minutes for a Silverado 1999-2006. This is unbelievable.

Would it be the same way for the 2004 explorer sport Trac xlt???
so if your gas gauge dont work and your Windows dont go down and the radio dont work could that b a cluster problem

Good stuff
Is it the same process for the 2004-2005 explorer sport trac?
Steve Chester should be about the same.
@@Coolvo113 awesome, thank you
Everything works on mines just no lights. Do I need to to do the same as you?
Hey buddy I know it’s a bit old video. But is there a internal speaker( door ajar )behind it ?
Behind what exactly? The dash cluster?

Yes behind the cluster
Will a dash out of an 06 explorer fit an 2003
I don’t believe so, I think the production line stopped in 2005, so 2003-2005 would work but I’m not 100% sure so I would check just to make sure.
Yeah I got s wrecked 06 bought an 03 yesterday with a broke shifter I thought hell I'll change the whole dash if I could
Me podrás conseguir video de fallo en wiper y odometro
I've almost got the bezel off but I can't get the light plug out. I don't see or feel any kind of catch like the other plugs have. Any ideas?
Does the vehicle need to be reprogrammed? A mechanic told me without the reprogramming the car won't start because of the anti theft system.
The 4th Horseman It depends on what part you replace. If you just change out the instrument cluster you should be fine.
So you did put a new cluster in and the key didn't need re programed or anything
Also did it mess up the miles you had on it or will it read the miles you have on your computer
I search for how to remove the cluster for a 2002 thunderbird and a fucking explorer pops up! Totally worthless!
You'll just need to unclip this???? Poor instructions
@@red2965 what part do you need help with?
