- Isis. Daish. Al-Qaeda. The Caliphate. So many different Muslim groups in our times that have been labelled 'terrorists'! Are these groups truly rightly guided, merely because they claim to stand up in the face of oppression? Or are they doing more harm by killing innocents, and thus demonstrate 'Kharijite' tendencies (the group that exemplifies Islamic fanaticism, as per the hadith)?
In this scintillating look at the past, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi examines the histories of these movements, tracing their development to the turbulent times of the early 70's in Egypt. In fact, some of the people alive now that are involved in current movements were active in these past movements of three decades ago as well. What lessons can we glean from the precursors to these very movements? How can we avoid committing the same mistakes that those movements did?
This is a must lecture to listen to in light of today's volatile circumstances. The lecture is followed by a very frank and controversial Q and A session.

Very powerful lecture... the West who normally demonise Islam should listen to this man. Very knowledgeable man indeed who muslims especially the young should be listening to.
My favorite scholar , sheikh, teacher and ocean of knowledge learn a lot from him as always , we Muslims are blessed with quran and prophet and scholars like sheikh yasir qadhi.

Al Hazen that’s part of it but they’re complete pacifists and excuse and erase any major issue with a leader and only become vocal if someone criticizes that leader. It’s complete passivity and it’s dishonest. No, we as Muslims, do not need a revolution every time a leader screws up and no we don’t go to war immediately for every tragedy or oppression that befalls us, especially under our condition, but Madkhalis come off as liars for defending the actions.

I wish all the people who are ignorant of Islam and send terrible emails and promote hatred among others especially those in the Western world would listen to the teaching of Dr Qadhi. This is the first time I have heard him speak and what an impressive intelligent man he is. Bravo.
Proof is in the pudding, as Yasir says that never ever has a group come out performing acts of terrorism, and succeeding in the long term to bring about peace and remove oppression !! Great food for thought.

I totally agree with brother Yasir Qadhi. All the internet mujahideen for sale and google muftis criticizing him and supporting Muslim killer mercenary force ISIS should do tauba or real Jihad should be declared against them.
Its not about agreeing wiTH yasir qadhi, its about agreeing with the text from the kitab n Sunnah. We don't love personalities but we love the text, if a person is in agreement with the text the truth is with him. Its very clear that most of these responses are emotional and lacking textual evidence from our religion, every point of the khawarij can be found in Isis and groups like them it is very clear that their jihaad is not the jihaad of the Prophet....just my thoughts

The reason why we muslims are facing so many problems and hardship today is because we're not United as an Ummah. You will see muslims killing muslims and they can't see their biggest enemy, don't forget during the battles at the time of RasulAllah (pbuh) there were foundations, rules and laws that had to be followed, i don't see that today so what kind of jihad is it if those who are being killed are innocent women, children and the elderly, when our prophet clearly forbid this. Have people even asked themselves that these sufferings muslims are going through is nothing but a test from Allah, to see who is still just in the land of injustice and who's patient. Once we arw United we will be able to stand up to anything, this moment was foretold by our beloved Prophet (pbuh) and we will not Unite until the Mahdi comes.

bobbydrake07017 Depends. If you follow the opinion that shiite are kaafir murtad then the authorities can give them three days to repent and execute them if they refuse. If they fight then they are to be executed immediately. If you follow the opinion that they are original kuffar then you do nothing until you see clear kufr in which case the same process takes place. Don't confuse valid execution for murder. Or do you deny that the punishment of the sorcerer is death?
The ruler or their appointees in this case I would ask who are the rulers??? If you say Isis then any group can raise up and make a grab for power, I could start my own group and do the same thing, right? Dont you see if it were like that there would be no safety in security on any land all I have to do is disagree with the ruler grab my gun and get busy....sounds like chaos not Islaam. I'm gonna have to disagree with the last point. How is change gonna happen if no one talks about the rulers?
How did Islam bring change? Bottom-up. The whole Ummah needs Islamic education and knowledge; then the people will collectively gravitate towards Islam. Then the rulers that come into power, will have the ethos and intention to go in an Islamic direction, be mindful of his duties and help the Ummah.
How is "talking" about the rulers gona create change? You mean protesting and revolutions - the same things that turned Muslim countries upside and in a state of wrecked havoc with no stability. Or the foolish ignorant who take arms and revolt to the destruction Muslim lives and homes?
Change starts from the roots, not the surface.

2. How does a public servant accept and deliver such instruction?
3. How to prove this idea in reality, what does it look like on emails or paper?
4. In a land with no laws currently and interference from many parts of the world how can anyone know which side to choose?
Referring to my mazhab by right i am a sunni but my peers has all the characteristics of a khawarij, help me to understand this please
