  • Papaya has always been a fruit that is very good to have after a dinner. However, we wanted to make papaya wine at home, so we researched across the internet and we found the exact papaya wine making procedure. However, we have noticed papaya wine Kenya was made in a slightly different method. But we thought of making wine or the papaya wine fermentation method that is usually followed and the wine came out well.
    Follow the method indicated and you will find yourself making them too.
    Ingredients for the wine
    ******************************
    1 kg papaya
    2 litres of water
    One and half kilos of sugar
    10 to 12 pods of cloves
    4 sticks of cinnamon
    5 to 6 pods of cardamom
    1 teaspoon of yeast

    About Me:
    Hi there! This is Jerry from Travel Chef. Starting a RUclips channel on food was a spark that struck me like having a delicious lemon souffle (pun intended) while I was having my masala dosa, and watching my mom and my wife cook. It struck me as to how to remember my mom’s recipes who is now 80 plus -- and, how do her children, daughter in law and grandchildren follow these recipes? After which all will be lost in time... Since me and my wife like travel and food, dad (above 85) suggested “Travel Chef”, and voila!, Travel Chef was launched. So, Travel Chefs' main priority is to capture the forgotten and authentic recipes that take place in each and every household and bring it to the entire world. By subscribing to our channel, please join us in our quest to have a glimpse of our hidden recipes. Bon Appétit!

    I watched a former inmate’s video a while back on making hooch. He put a ballon on the top so as not to have any explosions and I would assume to indicate when it stops fermenting in order to know when to put more sugar.

    • @TravelChefwithJerryJoseph
      @TravelChefwithJerryJoseph  Год назад +1

      There would not be a problem but this depends on the sweetness of the fruit you choose and to compensate there should be appropriate sugar / jaggery added

    If I was to add double your amount, do I need to add double the amount of yeast too or is 1 teaspoon enough?

    • @TravelChefwithJerryJoseph
      @TravelChefwithJerryJoseph  3 года назад +2

      This would depend on the amount of ingredients of you have taken. But it certainly adding yeast in between the process of fermenting might spoil the wine. this need to be done the beginning itself.
      I would recommend adding another teaspoon

    What if I reduce the sugar for a ripe papaya? Can this be made into dry or off dry wine?

      You can reduce the sugar if the papaya is sweet. I hope I have answered your question correctly
