Welcome back to Kels and John and to a very Disney-centric weekly vlog including our check-in to Disney's Wilderness Lodge on our first ever staycation as Florida residents!
Around the regular home and apartment stuff, we take a trip to Disney Springs one evening for a late-night ice cream, visit Epcot to try more Food & Wine offerings (Epcot Pink Popcorn Margarita and Nitro Pops, yes please!!!), and provide a quick overview of our room and view at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort Boulder Ridge Villas! We had a 1 bedroom at Wilderness Lodge Boulder Ridge villas and absolutely loved it - I think we both agree we have a new favorite Disney resort!
We have a couple of really exciting vlogs coming from our weekend staycation including a whole day spent at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and a Magic Kingdom Halloween special!

I loveee the Disney Springs music loop! We used to listen to it all the time back in NYC! Truly is the superior seltzer imo - love their flavors!!!
Art of Disney is the coolest. Love the Mickey and Donald print and the Mickey on his own. Can’t wait til next August, I miss Orlando! Essex rain has been constant now for 3-4 days, grey skies have settled in . Boo!

This was the perfect treat. Been cleaning the house all day and just got done. So this was the perfect way to relax. Love you guys. It was SUCH a fun start to the weekend! Can't believe it had taken us this long to visit Wilderness Lodge - it really is incredible!
My only solution to Florida Humidity Hair Frizz is a ponytail. The upside is that I only need to go to the hairdresser during winter 😂

I've seen Wilderness Lodge on vlogs many times but it still amazes me, it is so beautiful and looks so chilled. One day. I like those sachets of juice too & the iced tea version. Always stock up when I come over to the states.
It's sooo cute! But definitely - we always like to get a bauble with the year on it so will make a selection fairly soon!

I missed you guys by one day! We went to Epcot Thursday and, I’m not gonna lie, I had my eyes peeled for John and Kels. Lol!
Also, Test Track was going to be our last ride before we left for the day but they made the announcement that it was down as we were walking up to it. We thought about waiting but decided to ride Spaceship Earth instead. Glad we didn’t wait cause it doesn’t sound like it was fixed for a few days.
To answer your question- Normally when we go for food and wine, we start Mexico side first and are too full to try anything past France, so this time we switched it up and started on Canada side.
Aww no way! We'll be back again soon so please do say hello if you see us around! :) We were clearly making the same moves just a day apart!

Vaca PlayxPlay - That wasn't a cup of coffee, it was a pool of coffee. Oh, to be able to take a jaunt to Disney Springs. Mmmm...nomnomnom. "I don't where I'mma gonna go when the volcano blows." Cute "Bobballs"! "Heads held high, touch the sky, you mean everything to me." I had that storybook album growing up and played the fool out of it. That looks more like a suds rave than a car wash, lol. Gotta admit, kinda jealous about the robot. You'll have to tell us how well he works. Lodge time! My hair is straight as an arrow, so humidity just plasters it down. Sorry, can't help with frizz. The lodge looks soooo relaxing. Hello, H2O, you will be coming home. I'm with you on the juice. All I really drink is water, and MiO's (be it the brand or the Target brand) make water seem like a dessert. Juice can hit that sweet tooth. $17? Yikes. You can hear the park background music so much better right now, which is just delightful. Seeing the couscous has made me decide to have some tonight with the leftover steak I have in the fridge. Some days those pools of coffee are 1000% necessary! The robot's working well so far thank you! Trying to find his way around still I think and doesn't much like the rug we have in the kitchen but it's been a good investment so far! We have h2o up to our eyeballs at this point haha but always room to add to the collection ;) Hope all is well Leigh and you're enjoying your weekend!
Hi Kelsey I'm in the middle of watching this vid I know the perfect anti humidity for your hair it's original formula argan oil you get it from Sally beauty supply put it in your palms of your hands rub together and distribute it throughout your hair before blowdrying but not too much and then blowdry it'll make your hair shiny and soft and protect from heat and humidity :) love your vids and new apartment :)

I have frizzy, curly hair and when I try to keep it under control or straight in Disney, I use frizz-ease serum. Coconut oil masks before washing and/or just a little coconut oil on styled hair helps ( both are very affordable) :)

Dollar Tree representing! Woot! But seriously there are some staples we always get from there (baking powder for carpets, sponges, kids crafts, etc.). "Thor that wouldn't be too bad" Lmao. I hope going to Disney never loses it's novelty for you both. Loved the money tips - including the water packets AND the grapefruit beer tip. These are the things that need to be talked about!! Lou was like, wait they're not starting in Canada right?! Phew. 4$ is cheaper than the fruit popsicles they usually sell at all the stands. Love a Thursday upload!! Can't wait to see the rest of your trip at Wilderness Lodge! Would love to hear what you thought of the pool/slide situation. There's not much of that on youtube (or the water parks) and Lou won't stay at a hotel without a good water slide :)

I have very frizzy hair, and I swear by Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum. Wash and condition (maybe even leave in condition), then follow up with the serum. Blow dry and style. It helps a lot!
And it only takes a little tiny amount!

Looks like Florida is treating you two well so far! Kelsey, I get frizzy hair in FL too and a tiny amount of Paul Mitchell super skinny serum works,. I just got a sample of the new dry bar anti frizz called Liquid Glass that has worked here in the northeast so far, but I haven’t had a chance to test it in the Florida humidity yet!

I always start off in Mexico and grab two sangrias at the tequila bar with two tequila floaters! My husband tries to make us start in Canada so I’m not tipsy walking the rest of the way lol but I have to say I liked doing Mexico last now lol 😂 we had the lobster Mac we didn’t think it was that great it was too fishy...we loved the regular Mac and I actually just made the knock off at home with borsin cheese! So good!!!! We are going to Disney in November we come at least ten times a year we live in New Jersey! Great video guys!!! Keep it up!!!

How to help your hair in humidity? Move to SoCal! It was 100 deg today and 10% humidity, so surprisingly comfortable.

That's a great way to approach World Showcase! Don't think we've ever tried the Cantaloopy so maybe that'll be a drink for the next time we're in Epcot! :)
Some hotels put hearts with the lights through their windows to send love and support because of COVID. Unfortunately, I’ve just gotten used to the humidity messing up my hair. We always go left to Mexico, will need to switch it up next time! Look into magical dining to try different restaurants around town. I just found out they extended it until the 31st of October, it’s usually just in the month of September. There’s a place on Mills Ave called King Bao, Mills (what we call that area) actually has quite a few popular restaurants/bars/tea spots. Check out orlandodatenightguide (they have a Tampa one too) on Instagram and they have a website. There are other Instagram pages/websites for Orlando and the neighboring cities. Orlando Weekly does a Best of Orlando each year too.

Just for heck one night try dinner on your patio, when it’s a nice night and no rain. It’s kinda nice most nights here especially in the fall when it’s just starting to slightly get cold around 70 degrees. It’s always nice to try that. Try walking around the winter park village area around the train station there are a ton of nice restaurants and shops around that area and a bit further is the adjectives and some high end dining. The village ends right around the advent health sports medicine and rehab place which is really good when you need it. Avoid Ruth Chris and Flemings honestly they charge too much and it’s seriously al a carte not worth the money. Go to la cantina instead over in downtown by the remnants of the Fashion Square Mall now that’s worth the money but only open for dinner, and bonefish out in heathrow where the richer people live well technically the richest live in bell isle or LPGA blvd but anyway order the prime rib med rare or the Madagascar shrimp and fish combo. Worth it every time. The hair thing is a big issue in Florida honestly do a combination of things first shampoo like every single day with something like pantine pro v to get something like normal hair, rinse completely and use a second shampoo like that fruitisse stuff anything to bring moisture to your hair, once out of the shower comb it completely straight before styling, it’s the only way. Dump all the hair spray, gels, or grease or whatever as that stuff only lasts like a hour in humidity before it goes flat. We tend wear hair pretty flat around here after cutting of course because the humidity destroys the products in the hair. Just brush out the knots or comb them out, if you want to dye your hair it’s usually fine but ask a stylist to do it as the process is a bit long in this humid climate. You realize that fireplaces in Florida are fake right, it’s just we honestly don’t need them so we use replacements with the water vapor heaters or the realistic fireplace that looks like fire but it’s just a heater. House that have fire places are rare here and really it’s just decorating space that isn’t lit at all as the fear of fire is pretty bad here as we experienced many wildfires and house fires in the past and we all learned never to use the fireplace unless you treat it as decor space without lighting it, if you want to learn about how fire fighting wildfires are like talk to the wildlife management people or visit a state park honestly they give you a better straight answer than the federal guys.

what made you guys move to Orlando??? do you plan to go back to NY once the pandemic is over?
It was actually a move back for both of us. We moved to NY 5 years ago for work but my job is remote now so we moved back. No plans to return to NYC apart from the occasional visit to see friends.
I’m curious if you belong to anything that you build up points to stay at the Disney locations or do you just pay the normal rates to stay there?
Cyndi Patti we have family that are DVC members and very kindly booked the room for us as they couldn’t use them themselves. Renting points from members is also a possibility online.
