This is a great kit and much , much , MUCH easier to install than the transgo. For a good quality 1-2 shift that's easy to install and inexpensive I rec the corvette 2 - 4 servo package. Around 30 bucks. You might need to pull the crossmember to drop the trans down low enough if it's still in the car . This servo is the single best bang for your buck on this trans.

TransGo all the way! There's only one checkball that is left out in the latest kit, but the hole is at least plugged up.

@skulledmonte84 The 700R4 became the 4L60E in 1991-'92 after adding electronic shifting. They are nearly the same, but have some differences. Better to have the DVD specific for the 700R4, but you could use either. An ATSG manual is a must.

@wph1138 If you're willing to do the work, this clip comes from a complete rebuild DVD that will take through the whole process...you can get it from our BoxWrench site if you want.
You'd need to get a rebuild kit for your trans though.

I have a question I got a 4L 60e it won't shift to Second unless I let off gas everything in it is totally brand new can you tell me what's going on I think it's going straight to Third

If it lost line pressure on startup, most likely cause is the boost valve snap ring was not installed correctly and it fell out on startup. This results in very weak forward gear, and no reverse.
Otherwise I'd suspect an assembly fault in the valvebody. Most likely a check ball.

@wph1138 The car starting doesn't have much to do with the transmission except for one thing... there is a neutral safety switch in most transmissions that won't allow you to start the engine unless the trans is shifted into park or neutral.
Did you do anything to the transmission that may have effected the neutral safety switch?
