Great video, can't believe i found it from all thats out there. My? I have a 99 gmc envoy 4x4 with this trans i believe. My problem is that it will not go in reverse. Before i found this it seamed to be slipping some going foward. When in reverse i can hear some winding noise. What could be the problem? Also note i believe i have some vacuum issues, (leaks) can this be a cause? Thanks
I got a p0894 code on a 05 astro van. Car went into gear and then reverse but after i throw it in park thats it wouldnt go in any more. Before the first gear to second shift would shift hard but on high rpms it wouldnt. What do you recommended
I wish you would explain a P1870 code. I am having a hard time fixing it. Replaced the valve body, TCC solenoid valve. I dont know if it is the torque converter.
Thanks for the vid. Question. I have an 04 envoy xl. I noticed when key on engine off I heard a rapid clicking sound coming from trans pan. Took the pan off and determined it was coming from a shift solenoid. I unplugged the solenoid connector and the clicking stopped. I switched the shift solenoids around and same thing happened. I'm thinking more along wiring harness being the issue but not sure. I back probed and supplied power and ground to just the 2 wires for the one connector giving me issues and I used a 9v battery but only got a 3v reading. So then I checked the other shift solenoid harness connector and same thing only 3v. Checked the 9v battery and read 9.4v. is it only supposed to put out 3v or am I missing something
My blazer is showing p0785 shift/timing solenoid, or 3-2 downshift solenoid, but the problem is My blazer won't shift into 4th gear, shifts up to 3rd gear and that it, the pressure manifold switch is what I replaced last ttime.
Hey Scottie, I have a 97 camaro 3.8 v6 4l60e auto trans . I noticed the other day it wasn't downshifting when cold ,after driving a bit it went back to normal. I checked fluid level and it was down 2 quarts. Added fluid , still wouldn't downshift when you first start driving, then it works again. Then for 3 or 4 days it went 100% back to normal. Now it has stopped downshifting at all. If I kick it into passing gear it does, but during normal driving it upshifts fine but doesn't downshift whether automatically or if I manually try to downshift. No matter what gear it is in if I take my foot off the gas it acts like it's coasting in nuetral until I put my foot back on the pedal and give it gas , it then accelerates. I haven't gotten a check engine light or any codes. I was going to try changing the filter and fluid but i'm not sure if that will help.
I should also mention I have a no crank situation and the gear indicator has no line under P. It will only recognize reverse in every other gear position. Replaced the p/n switch twice, I read online from multiple people the car will still run even if cluster is out of the car so highly doubt it's a cluster problem. Could whatevers going on with the transmission harness be telling the car misinformation thus creating a no crank situation?

I have installed 2 Rostra neutral safety switches on my 2002 Tahoe 4.8 and they both have not worked properly. Wondering if I just have the wrong part. Do know if there is any difference between the Neutral switch modle numbers 24229422 and NS-85 or NS-85T?? Any info is super appreciated.

Can I replace just one shift solenoid? I have a sixth 6 transmission A solenoid control which gears 1-3 and B solenoid controls 4-6 and a separate solenoid control reverse. I don't know if that's how it works.

please help me I have a Silverado 2009 1500 transmission line rotted I fixed that and put new filter in but when I drive it it will move then feels like it goes in neutral with motor racing I let go of gas and will go again can that be the solenoid burned out

I changed filter and filled with fluid and rides smoother just same issue with that 3rd gear not grabbing. Are the solenoids the issue? Hello....question about the a 4L60E trans. My 3-4 clutches are smoked. Everything kinda happened at once. Towing a camper, trans temp warning and while in D the trans will now not shift out of 1st. When in L2 it will do a 1-2 shift. When in L3 it will do a 1-2 and a 2-3 shift but when in 3rd it just free wheels the motor. It would seem it's time for a rebuild but I was wondering what would cause it to stay in 1st while in D. 05 Yukon XL 1500 4x4 for reference. No codes currently on the computer.
When this happened to me, the check ball in the case was leaking like crazy! Only found out the check ball wad bad after I replaced the clutches and drove it about 900 miles and blew the new clutches out. We use to pull a boat and a camper a lot back then.

Ya know... when I was doing my learning from the old guys back in early 2000's, they always recommend to use this fluid and I never looked back. I have heard the 4l60 series doesn't like the synthetic fluid but I've never personally tried it. I always thought it was due to the synthetic molecules being smaller that conventional.

Well I have a 05 trailblazer 4x4 and I was driving and it just stopped pulling all at once so I got pulled back home and bought all the selenoids and replaced them and fluid and still not going in gear what you think causes that
My tcc cylanoids stuck open don’t know why but just rebuilt. It didn’t replace the harness. I saw a check ball missing in rear of case in capsules. But tcc is open why is this on all the time

If my car was not parked behind a gate with guards during the day, I'd just leave my windows down and my trunk open. It's crazy!

From my research (why I'm here) one of the most common issues with 4l60e is loss of 3rd and 4th from the 3-4 clutch pack burning up.

The 65 just has an extra planetary gear in the gear set. It’s not really any different at all

Still have a problem? Been 4 months but figured I'd ask if you resolved it. If you are issuing 3/4 gears the issue is likely burned 3/4 clutch pack.
