Not sure if you figured it out, but you installed it incorrectly. the zippers go around the tires and it should zip completely closed. The weird extender piece is a hitch cover. I made a copy of my license plate and laminated it and slid it into the license plate pouch.

Yeah clear would be better
Law enforcement may pull you over because it blocks pretty much all of your tail lights including turn signals. Also blocking your license plate. Maybe put the bike in the truck bed when you want to use the bike cover.
I became quite concerned when I got my vehicle above 60 MPH as the wind stress against the quickr stuff rack caused my BMW suv to begin rocking. The cover acts like a sail & even dislodged a basket that zip tied to rear rack of one of our e-bikes. Scary experience. It did ok at 55 MPH which is not great when driving on an interstate.
Yeah that’s the downside of a cover at high speed. Best to add some extra tie downs for the ebike and do your best to sinch down the cover.
