This video is what got me to experiment with stop motion photography. One of the best animated music videos out there. Most excellent, your hard work paid off!
I heard that the video took just 7 days to make and they worked for up to 16 hours a day. The only other music video to completely blow me away like this one, was Take on Me.
Thanks for this, so happy to get a glimpse of the admirable achievement it was to bring this music video to life . I love your uploads by the way.🤩 Peter Gabriel pushed forward the boundaries of artistic capabilities, always challenging himself as a musician♥
Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoy my uploads. I agree with you completely, Peter's always been such a huge innovator! I wish I had more footage of this behind the cameras, but that's all I've been able to find, unfortunately.
2:08 I read the "Seats 4 the Ladies" wuz ad libbed, based on when they started to complain from having 2 stand a LONG time in order 2 achieve the frame by frame technique.
@@rpraelsporcupine3112 i did a bit more digging and from what i can tell it's probably from the second part of a Channel 5 documentary series called Greatest Hits of The 80s, it is only available in the UK

It’s a brilliant video, yes!
I wonder what kids today think of this amazing feat of direction and creativity, when they are so used to seeing fantastical things made with cgi.
I think it is still a wonderful and fun video to watch, even with all the advances in technology.

Really? That’s a cool bit of information, thank you for sharing it! 😃
@@rpraelsporcupine3112 you're welcome! Discovered it in the IMDb.
@@shutterbug_713 Really? Cool!! 😃
This is so cool
I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊
Vaseline? Why not use a fan??
I don’t know… maybe it has to do with the fact that Peter was lying down on the floor to shoot some of these scenes…? 🤷🏻♀️
@@rpraelsporcupine3112 think I would have done anything but vaseline 🤣
@@timsmith395 Ha!! Well, the director of the video was amazed at how patient Peter was! 😁
Because Vaseline doesn't harden like gel, and it wuz in order 2 achieve the frame by frame technique.
@@shutterbug_713 Thanks for the info! 😊
where is this excerpt from?
I’m not sure, I only found this bit, and it didn’t have any info on where it came from.
@@rpraelsporcupine3112 tried to see if it was from a tv broadcast or something but couldn't find anything :( thx for the reply tho
@@clairefangloriaYeah, I would really love to know too. I’d love to watch it in full.
