I love fried Halloumi cheese. Only way I eat it, alongside cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and sour dough bread with butter🤤 And I move salt, why I prefer cheeses like Halloumi and Feta even🥰
all that and you still skinny as a twig. Then here I am eating vegetable exotic spice diets and working out everyday and i still have the belly of a 13 year old.
When I cook halloomi, I set the stove to low and let it marinade in its own juices for 5-10 mins. The cheese on the inside melts while the outside and firm and grilled to a perfect golden brown.
I like to pop it in a burger bun with mushrooms yummy. Wish we could get packs that size in England, it's usually only a 3rd of the size and quite pricey too
I live in London and the size of the mainstream supermarkets is rly tiny and expensive, however there are many Turkish or oriental local (super)markets in my area, that sell the cheeses in packages like in this video! Try to buy somewhere else and try new things out, if its possible in your area
Wow, I never knew we had to fry and add lemon for great taste! Just got halloumi and did it your way; we all LOVE IT! Thank you so much for sharing this!
oooh that sounds good!! I was actually thinking watching this video, this would make a really good 'toast' base and will need to experiment to see what would go well on top!
One of my local restaurants grills a cheese that looks like this, but I don't think it's super salty. And then they actually drizzle some syrup or honey that is also not overly sweet. Sounds crazy but it's freaking delicious. I'll have to find out what they use.

I was given this by a friend and I'm so afraid to mess it up because I've never ate it before. Thanks to your video now I have a good idea and I wanna try it
Thats a MASSIVE block of Haloumi In the UK we pay about £3.50, for just 250g That looks to be, about a Kilo (1,000g) in weight, and would be about £14.00 to buy Thanks for the video though!
I keep looking at this product at the store is the same when you have two the same packaging grilled cheese like that kind of weird but it looks good though sorta
Yes I used Olive Oil - however you can use light olive oil for frying compared to extra virgin - extra virgin is better to use for salads etc when you are going to eat it uncooked. Or when you are using smaller amounts. Extra virgin can be used for frying also.
I could at each day and never get tired of it. You are lucky having gas ,. My cooker is electric and it really is not such efficient as gas,In summer I cook on the balcony on a portable gas burner .👍
You forgot to say whether or not to pat the slices of cheese dry before frying, and to first put oil in the pan before frying (some frying cheeses do not require any oil). If the slices aren't patted dry before they hit the hot oil, you're going to have some serious possible splatter burns.
If the next side browns faster I bet its because you cooked it straight from the fridge? Leave it out for a bit and should only take 2 min max each side

The caramelisation on the halloumi looks really tasty, well done chef.
Pan-fried halloumi is the best!

Great in a sandwhich with veggies and creamcheese
Just a tiny sprinkle of oregano while it’s frying too is excellent 👌

Thank you, this recipe works for Nabusli Cheese aka Arabic Salty Cheese.
yum. looks like Dominican frying cheese (queso de freir)

love - gonna try with lemon tonight
Thank you for this. 👍😊
I need this in my life
You need this in your stomach!
One thing I tried is just adding a tiny bit of water instead of oil. The texture is identical.
Looks delicious! 😍💓

First time having Halloumi! We wouldn't of had it had it not been for Chef's Plate meal delivery service.
Let me know what you think of the taste
With grilled pita bread and coffee for breakfast.
Can you use this for cheese burgers
Thankyou for sharing. Did you use olive oil?

What’s the taste like? Looks like salty tofu with cheesy flavor
It’s a little salty but it’s balanced by olive oil and lemon juice. You can also add chilli. It’s DELICIOUS!!
cheers min

I lay my addiction to this seductive cheese at Cyprus' "feet"--it's like Proust's madelines. Breakfast on Nicosia mornings...alimono!
Brilliant. Thank you
Thanks Mark
Add mint leaves in top. So tasty 😋

Good tip!! That makes sense.
Really salty! At least the one I just purchased. I have had it before!
I love how you pronounce hulloumi
this guy reminds me of the agent character at the new zeland diplomat office in flight of the concorda

Nice. Always thought they added brandy.
I tried this and the haloumi melts on the pan like mozzarella. Am I doing something wrong?
@im a gay so ya o_O

i do the same but with coconut oil and never went back to regular after having it
Haloumi is the best cheese.
Did Halloumi cheese goes well with Chicken salad?
Definitely you can add to salad with some chicken - it’s delicious
I don’t need to put oil to cook it right?
You can cook it without oil however it might stick. I always use a splash of oil
When u say chilli? Wht kinda of chillies
Just something with a little heat - Cayenne or Cherry chillies 🌶
Did you put oil or something in the pan before cooking the halloumi??
Just little bit of olive oil - you don’t need much oil
@@VideoSnooper Alright thanks!
