One thing you haven't mentioned is the Procedural/randomized nature of the game which is pretty cool. It basically randomize the order of the worlds you explores, their layout, their variations of enemies and bosses which make different playthroughs more unique. That's also why when you want to change the difficulty it's called reroll, because you literally reroll the entire campaign.
Yes, i started on a completely different planet and are just now on this world. I also really like the puzzles/ parcour challenges to break the "shoot everything that moves" loop. You have to really use your brain for some of them ( or wait a bit and let others figure things out 😁).
@@rsp9429 Yes if that mechanic works the same as in the first game then ye if you do not get a specific dungeon/World that contains the weapon or item you want then you will have to essentially reroll your campaign on a sort of NG+ Run and hope you get it this time.

Monster Hunter World had a semi dynamic HP scaling for 1, 2 or 3-4 people, so going in with 3 was actually the hardest as the Monster had the highest HP but you also missed out on the Palicos. Also the HP didn't decrease when a player left so if you started with a group and then had a connection error you would have to fight the upscaled version alone. For Monster Hunter Rise they then made it completely dynamic.
This game is surprisingly great. Really into it. Tons of secrets in the world, the puzzles are actually interesting, reasonably complex, and don’t hold your hand. Lore is awesome. Combat and build variety is fantastic. And the game looks stunning to boot. Started two different characters to check out different classes and it is wild that the opening area is a completely different world for each one. Replay value seems really high, especially with all the secrets to find and items and weapons to locate. A sequel absolutely done right and they’re really move closer to perfecting the formula with this one. I also found out there is a third game in the Remnant series, Chronos Before The Ashes. But it is more of a soulslike melee title instead of guns. Will prob check it out for the lore alone.
I'm 42 hours into the game along with 4 other friends and we feel like we've barely scratched the surface! R2 is super underrated and worth your time. Btw, co-op is only up to 3 players but it's super easy to swap ppl in and out. Also, all loot is shared as long as you're in the party, even if youre dead. Except for ammo which is not shared and can be picked up by anyone.
What you just said is exactly why I don't like this game what the hell is fun about rerolling a map just to fight the same boring mobs there's no new bosses no hard puzzles its literally rerolling to spawn a certain BUILDING which I can enter to get a new weapon IF IM LUCKY ENOUGH literally has 0 skill involved
On the scaling note, in the most recent two Monster Hunter games (world and rise) the difficulty would increase once when one person joined (duo scaling) and again when a third joined (multiplayer scaling), but 3 and 4 players is the same. However even with a rather large change to health, hunts often go faster, because you generally gain more DPS per player relative to the health the monster gains.
they also nerfed the enemy damage bonus from 25%/50% to 15%/30% so you have an overall benefit to fighting with a group as enemies only do 130% damage with 3 players.
Yes it definitely is that good & more.. I haven't been this addicted to a game playing until 4 a.m. in the morning since elden ring.. really dope game 🔥
Glad to see that the lighting effect on the merchant guy isn't just me. As far as that being the only graphical thing I've seen wrong in the game... I can't complain, it's also fun as hell. I also noticed that one of the beard textures was completely unfinished. It looked like paper strands on the dudes face lol but that was before the day 1 patch so it might be fixed.
Remarkable that a AA game has absolutely kicked the arse of most of the AAA fare out there at the moment. I am LOVING this game. Edit: you hit the button for sprint to speed up the ladder animations.
I've heard some players complain about the secrets and they want the game to guide them to everything. lol wut. The secrets and exploring are the best part about this game.
Game is a lot harder than the 1st one. Your starting weapons are absolute garbage and must be leveled up right away. Tough start but I'm finding it fun. The lighting and shadows in this game are amazing.
Remnant I was such a fun time that I had with friends during the pandemic. It was free on Epic Games and we picked it up. Spend hundreds of hours on it trying to get all the bosses. We're all busy now but if we have time we're gonna pick it up and play together again.
I honestly dont see what the fuzz is about. Im about 5 hours in and nothing so far impressed me. Does it get better later or is it just me who doesnt click with the game?
I love this game so much and it’s probably my favorite looking game i’ve played almost ever! but i was playing on Ps5 and 20 hours in i hit a game breaking bug (TalRatha was stuck frozen) and had to restart the entire game since they don’t have any way to go back on saves. very disappointed and it kind of ruined my experience with the game because even with the re-roll i don’t have as much motivation to be playing the game, i feel like i got robbed of a large sum of my time.
the first one was a good game with some problems that kept it from being a great game. They fixed all of my issues with 1 and 2 is quicly becoming one of my favorite games of all time.
Wanna clarify. Rerolling your campaign is SO MUCH MORE than just changing the difficulty in this game. There are MULTIPLE iterations of each world. It completely remixes that world with different areas, bosses, quests and loot that may not have been in your previous roll of that world. It's essentially experiencing the same world with new areas and possibly some of the same. To experience everything in a world you will need to play theough multiple re rolls, making different choices. For example, in one playthrough you might choose to fight a boss that's plaguing that world's monarch, the next reroll choose to fight the monarch, the next fight the other version of the monarch, the next the monarch isn't even there and there's a different boss etc. The depth is AWESOME!
My friend bought me this for my birthday but we haven’t been able to play much yet but I’ve got a mind to try the handler on my single player run and medic on coop…I’m so anxious I loved the first one so much! Can’t wait to be able to play…
my only real complaint for the first one is that it didnt feel like it was properly balanced to play solo. none of my friends like souls like games and i couldnt get any to play with me so i hope this one has a better feeling solo campaign
As someone who got the ultimate edition and played a few days early, I can confirm that I started on vet difficulty and have made it to the final boss solo. I've yet to defeat it however.
Basically just completed the game. I did it on veteran as a solo player. It was flawless, never felt as if anything was missing from the experience. The last boss, I tried joining some other people, but the scaling made the boss be even harder. So I ended up going back into solo, and defeated it there.
Really enjoyed the original and will very likely pick this up soon. Thanks for the comprehensive coverage on this. It'll be interesting to see if their definition of 'replayability' changes at all, as the first game felt pretty repetitive after traversing all the biomes a couple times. I understand they're "procedurally generated," but the building blocks they're using to do this don't change much (a bit like Warframe). Between that and the "alternate" ways of killing bosses, I personally found the randomization more frustrating than fresh, as a result. But that's just me.
Luke this game is Extremnly good, I’m a destiny and borderlands player and the game is SO good. I have a great time with coop with some randoms, also those players are very welcome to newbies. To everyone: download get your archetype and do some dungeon running. Don’t expect a lot of weapons like the game I mentioned, this is more like Elden ring (marry to one build and 2 weapons to end game then change)
Rerolling changes the starting world/theme and other variables, not just to change difficulty. If you're bashing your head before the first boss, try rerolling to potentially get an easier start.
My only problem with this game is the funky hitboxes. I've been screwed so many times by attacks that never should've reached me. Other than that it's a great game.
I've had a lot of back and forth with this game. Each time I get frustrated I get pulled back in. But my main point of contention with the first was that it felt like a simple looter shooter without the fun, and shoe-horned Soulslike effects that don't really work, mostly because those effects just tend to be bullet-hell elements with splash damage going off anywhere. They merely just doubled down on this in II rather than produced something that imitates souls combat, but at range. This isn't a soulslike, it's a 3D bullet hell game combined with a 3rd person shooter. Even with boss battles like the Labyrinth cubes that poses itself as a really interesting puzzle, they just can't help themselves.
i’m playing it solo and it’s awesome! if you can enjoy elden ring as a solo experience, you can definitely enjoy this one solo it’s very similar in terms of engagement and addictiveness.
I do the same as you whenever I see a chess board in a show. Saw the smothered mate in 2. Also shows black as having captured a white bishop, but still 2 white bishops on the board. I missed the queens not starting on their own color though.
I never expected to be watching you analyze a chess board for one of my recent favorite games. I would've liked this video even without, but that segment earned the like all on its own.
also to comment on the enemy variety, it feels limited at first but as you continue to play longer in the same area, newer and different variants of enemies start to show up that from what I noticed.
Some small little things that irritate me but not majorly. Friendly AI at the start of the game shooting my back is one of them. Then I turned subtitles off bc I hate them but the one mute vendor in the camp can't be understood with them off and I kinda wish he had his own separate subtitles since ofc I want to know what he says and would rather not have to turn subtitles on when I go to talk to him
I liked Remnant from the ashes but I LOVE Remnant 2. I don't like most SoulsLike games but Remnant combines so many mechanics from different genres that work surprisingly well together. The game has some of the most creative bosses, the 11 classes are very distinct and very well designed (combined classes allows so many builds), the loot is great and some weapons are very unique like weapons from Borderlands, the worlds are beautiful and each have corresponding enemies. The $50 price might make people think it's a very small game but players could easily sink 100+ hours of engaging gameplay into Remnant 2. I haven't been that impressed with a videogame since Elden Ring. (I think I like the Remnant games more than FromSoftware's games if I dare say)
@@GradietPanda12345 well I was referring to the series, but I didn't see the game on any of the main pages of the PlayStation store either. Of course I been playing since last weekend. Already beat the last boss
RECOMMENDATION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE MID-RANGE PC: . Meet the minimum requirements . Keep your graphics card drivers up to date . Computer Power Mode: Balanced or High Performance (I set it on Automatic) . Lower the resolution (e.g. 1680x1050) . Turn off Motion blur . Set the FPS limit to 60 or 82 . Use DLSS in Performance mode . Set the graphics to Low (I set the post-processing to Medium and the rest to Low) . Turn off latency Know that there are still areas where there is a FPS drop or slowdown, but the game recovers quickly and you can continue playing.
I played and really enjoyed the first game and after seeing the early reviews I pre ordered a physical copy for xbox but only unfortunately I only realised that here in Sydney Australia for some reason the physical xbox copy isn't releasing until August 8th. There must of been some sort of shipping issue because it's available in the Microsoft store and the Ps5 physical version is available as well. If I realised I would of got the Ps5 version but I guess it just gives me time to play one of the many games from backlog like cult of the lamb and I'm happy fun.
For potential buyers of this game on pc. Remember its BUILT around dlss or fsr2 so its not optimized at all! just a heads up, if i got it wrong please correct me :D
Yeah a 4090 cant even reach 60fps on 4k ultra in this game. A 4060 cant even reach 60 fps at 1080p ultra. Only play this if you have the latest and greatest hardware in your pc
This game kinda sucks imo. Like it doesn't tell you where to go or what to do. I tried to progress the campaign and just walked in circles 3-4 times and it got annoying and i refunded this trash. The shooting when i was actually shooting and not walking in circles was great. Everything else? Crap.

Remnant 2 is a combination of diablo, and dark souls. The structure is far more similar to something like disblo. Same with all the gear systems . The builds are nothing like darj souls and pretty similar to diablo Survivor is the normal fromsoft levels of difficulty. Past that, unless you have a build set up, on your first playthrough anything beyond survivor is SIGNIFICANTLY harder then any souls game I've ever played. Other than maybe sekiro

I always love your video's but one thing i like more is your keyboard. Can you tell me what brand that is?
haven't had soft locks or graphical bugs as of yet, but i have had a couple of crashes. enjoying myself so far
Hows the performance on PC? I've heard there are issues?
"Not alot of enemy variety". Oh, my sweet summer child. Just you wait.
I never expected to be watching you analyze a chess board for one of my recent favorite games. I would've liked this video even without, but that segment earned the like all on its own.
also to comment on the enemy variety, it feels limited at first but as you continue to play longer in the same area, newer and different variants of enemies start to show up that from what I noticed.
can i play this maxed out at 1440p on a 13600K & rtx 4080 ?
I like the game. But a lot of encounters are unfair. Beyond skill and leveling. Not good shooter design.
Some small little things that irritate me but not majorly. Friendly AI at the start of the game shooting my back is one of them. Then I turned subtitles off bc I hate them but the one mute vendor in the camp can't be understood with them off and I kinda wish he had his own separate subtitles since ofc I want to know what he says and would rather not have to turn subtitles on when I go to talk to him
What kinda keyboard is that? looks awesome
Its still mind blowing that this game's levels are Procedurally generated. Thats just amazing man. So much replayability
how do you get that stats screen on the top left?
Severely underrated game, absolutely love it. My only issue is I hope they work on performance in multiplayer
How is the game underrated if it just came out
@@GradietPanda12345 well I was referring to the series, but I didn't see the game on any of the main pages of the PlayStation store either. Of course I been playing since last weekend. Already beat the last boss
RECOMMENDATION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE MID-RANGE PC:
. Meet the minimum requirements
. Keep your graphics card drivers up to date
. Computer Power Mode: Balanced or High Performance (I set it on Automatic)
. Lower the resolution (e.g. 1680x1050)
. Turn off Motion blur
. Set the FPS limit to 60 or 82
. Use DLSS in Performance mode
. Set the graphics to Low (I set the post-processing to Medium and the rest to Low)
. Turn off latency
Know that there are still areas where there is a FPS drop or slowdown, but the game recovers quickly and you can continue playing.
I’m pretty sure that medic pin is there for you to pick up the Medic class in case you didn’t choose it as your starting class
Correct
I played and really enjoyed the first game and after seeing the early reviews I pre ordered a physical copy for xbox but only unfortunately I only realised that here in Sydney Australia for some reason the physical xbox copy isn't releasing until August 8th. There must of been some sort of shipping issue because it's available in the Microsoft store and the Ps5 physical version is available as well. If I realised I would of got the Ps5 version but I guess it just gives me time to play one of the many games from backlog like cult of the lamb and I'm happy fun.
This game is crack so good playing on the harder difficulty and holy hell it can get tough. So much fun, my GOTY at the moment.
Outside of the performance issues I was having at times, game was pretty fun. Haven't played since the late access release though
Loved the game but I wish there were more worlds.
I'm gonna sit through the chess analysis like a real man.
First video of yours for me and quite the vibe you bring to your channel. Got a sub in me!
it happened, he's impressed by a game working properly (as in performance)
For potential buyers of this game on pc.
Remember its BUILT around dlss or fsr2 so its not optimized at all!
just a heads up, if i got it wrong please correct me :D
Yeah a 4090 cant even reach 60fps on 4k ultra in this game. A 4060 cant even reach 60 fps at 1080p ultra. Only play this if you have the latest and greatest hardware in your pc
@marlonkruger8240 thank you dude, for adding the bit of missing context 🙏🏻
I feel people should know when a game is trash optimized! 😇
Does this have gyro aiming on the PS5?
What's your pc specifications?
Dry August... (Eyes Balder's Gate III) -- :) Currently playing Remnant II & enjoying it as well!
I'm 200 hours into Remnant 2, getting a bit bored of it but I expect I will get back into it soon 😊
Who would have thought that this would be the first full game release running unreal engine 5 😮
Can u turn off the hud or enemy health bars
Your editor needs a raise just for that "chess" section alone lol
Watch that trailer for the handler got ya boy sold
10/10 that chess analysis was on point!
Refilling brings new bosses, dungeons and NPCs kinda a big part of it that you got wrong.
This game kinda sucks imo. Like it doesn't tell you where to go or what to do. I tried to progress the campaign and just walked in circles 3-4 times and it got annoying and i refunded this trash. The shooting when i was actually shooting and not walking in circles was great. Everything else? Crap.
Rerolling your campaign and adventure by extension resets the world and you’ll get totally different bosses and dungeons.
Chess Analysis: 09:04->10:40
Loved it lol
The chess analysis was good 🎉
ooph that automatic ladder grab should be replaced with press to interact
Thousand sons yes! Show us your army/s!
loved the chess explanation lmao
Game is amazing, truly passed my expectations , feels way better than the first I can’t wait for expansions
Nothing to play in July?? I'm over here bathing in the glory, hype and fun that is Street Fighter 6. Personal tastes and jokes aside, you're not wrong, it's good to have a fresh game come along and shake things up. Even better if it's good, so this is a cool surprise.
Luke you have the markiplier ability of finding glitches on accident 😅🤣
Remnant 2 is a combination of diablo, and dark souls. The structure is far more similar to something like disblo. Same with all the gear systems . The builds are nothing like darj souls and pretty similar to diablo
Survivor is the normal fromsoft levels of difficulty.
Past that, unless you have a build set up, on your first playthrough anything beyond survivor is SIGNIFICANTLY harder then any souls game I've ever played. Other than maybe sekiro
sniffin what im steppin in? wtf never heard that one before lol
I keep hearing everyone say "its like a soulsborne game" ..and they aren't wrong but im hear thinking " it reminds me more of Gears of War" .. its an old game but did everyone forget about Gears of War
