- Remnant 2 has been a hit with the speedrunning community, and it's time we show the devs over at Gunfire Games what players have been able to pull off. In this video, two of the minds behind Remnant 2's development -- Ben Cureton and John Pearl -- check out Frogtown Matt's impressive 1 hour and 6 minutes speedrun.

Out of curiosity, has their tip about firing one pylon in the ground to increase damage panned out?
Haven't done the most scientific of tests but it definitely seems to do more damage with 1 pylon on the ground.

It's very impressive that almost no skips are being performed via Glitches/Bugs. True testament to how well this game is designed.
s/o to gunfire for caring about what the fans want. they could easily make rerolling cost resources, but here they are talking about letting us choose which story we want. Even if only adventure mode, still a W. 👏👏👏
I'm not even sure if you're being sarcastic. They didn't remove the trait point cap like most players wanted and the player count has taken a massive dive since release a few months ago. Instead of constantly rerolling to spawn certain places they could implement a feature where we choose which places spawn. And it's been over 4 months and this thing they talked about hasn't been implemented or even talked about to my knowledge.
Absolutely LOVE when devs do commentary on stuff like this. They are always so cool, they provide great insight into their decisions and thought processes, and so on. Great stuff, love it.

Losomn is just so damn fitting for the game and the side stories and gear that goes with the you can discover makes the game so much more enjoyable then a lot of quests on other games

The gameplay and classes are better in two, same with the Hub. But imo the bosses in FTA were way better

The Imposter King bossfight is simply imo the best one in this game, including the DLC. Design is awesome, OST is incredible.

as a former path of exile 0.5%'er (not 0.1%er), procedurally generated is not entirely random, there's always rules for map layouts, and developers won't be entirely aware of how those rules will affect how the generator tiles things together
you can often tell by small features of the map, which way certain things will be... this is not conscious knowledge, it's experienced backbone learning, when you've played enough, you just know!
My GOTY! Totaly underrated game. Played it for 160 hours! It’s so great.
The devs seem really in tune to what the playerbase wants, it's so refreshing to hear that.

3:12 Tal'Ratha's is potentially the shortest story as you only need to defeat one boss to get to him if you know what you're doing.
Yeah only takes a few minutes really.
Yea, especially when compared with the other option which has two mandatory mini-bosses, the long elevator ride, and a generally harder/longer boss fight.
Will admit, kinda bummed we didn't get to fight one of those serpents or fish or whatever it is hanging up around the map. That could have been a neat fight

Especially on apoc. Fukk that whole encounter on Apoc. I'm certain I've got more grey hair now thanks to the amount of stress it caused me. that big purple sunofabitch was the bane of my apoc run for like a full 2 days. I'm still too traumatized to even attempt it on HC... Trying to get over it but not quite there yet haha
But it's exactly like he said, all those other distractions, are like mosquitos, mainly there to annoy and frustrate you so that you panic and end up making a mistake. Goes to show how much thought went into every aspect of the design, and also confirms that they are indeed working exactly as intended to be. so many beautifully thought out and equally well executed details like that in this game which is what makes it such a **chef's kiss** of a finished product. Bravo, Gunfire. You fellas hit it clean out of the park with this one. Grand Slam!

The atmosphere and aesthetic of the game is so immersive. The lighting, the textures, the music… they nailed it. True art
Tal Ratha because progression is in the overworld instead of seeker keys at the end of an entire dungeon.
You guys deserve all the credit in the world. This game is a masterpiece!! A $49.99 masterpiece. In a world where all video games are trying to drain your bank account. You guys went the other way. And deserve to be applauded. 😮
The labyrinth sentinel took me 95 tries and he did it in 2-ish minutes 😮
He had his 95 tries another time. Once you've figured out your route, you can eventually do it very reliably.

Honestly one of my top games played it to much and completed it in hardest difficulty beat challenge and it’s so nice that one can replay it so many times to.

Love this game. Played it on gamepass, fell in love with the game, played remnant 1.. loved it. About to buy chronos, sure I'll love it too.. please keep up dlc and make remnant 3!! Freaking love the story and the game dynamics. Materials are a little harder to come by in remnant 2 but I'm sure that's part of t he evolution. Get some gun guys involved on 3. Please. Taran tactical would make a great partner for next games weapons. Just remind them there is a fantasy sci-fi element. But the guns are the only thing I'd address. Not so much boss guns. But the reg lvl20 ones

Love love love this game. Wish it had won Best Action Game, it really deserved it. Still great to get that nomination! It's my GotY regardless and has given me and my friends hours of fun together! Love a game where we can heal/tank/dps combo together!

Just reroll campaign to start in either Nerud - Seekers Rest or Losomn - Morrow Parish and speedrun towards the other world.
Don’t forget you gotta do it twice for tormented heart and tranquil

Make the speedo with swimmers goggles for speed runs the speedo increases speed and goggles give you a dmg bonus but blocks view on screen and basically narrows fov

Yea this is about the only game on here the devs enjoyed the SR and one of the very few that dont have game breaking bugs they exploit. Very soild developers
"This game isnt as speedrun friendly as other games because of the random element" - On this topic, the single most popular speedrun game is Minecraft. The RNG element doesnt inherently make something less speedrun friendly.

maybe the devs read this :D ... for me .. the bosses on apocalypse for difficulty were perfect scaled
thought the game levels were procedural but the guy was running like he knew them inside out... so a little better proceduralization on R3 perhaps?
Yeah they are definitely not as random as what they seem. You can easily clear all the maps really quickly like done in the video
This clip they started in Nerud and had Forgotten Prison tileset meaning all they needed to do was find the first main door (usually far left or far right) then they would be in the boss dungeon and next is the Eon vault map. There's 2 vaults, one without the hole in the ground has the item to progress to the boss and so on. That whole map is only a few minutes and gets really boring running thru it like that.

Don't nerf builds instead give those us us who want things much harder a way to do so, people will choose to make the game harder because we enjoy the challenges and are bored with how things are currently... That said not everyone feels that way so lets avoid nerfing builds and instead give the players the ways to choose to make the game harder on themselves! ❤️
