- Ride along with Remnant: From the Ashes developers John Pearl (Design Director) and Ben Cureton "Principle Designer) as they watch and react to an incredibly fast playthrough of their game from speedruner Gamma_Reed. Remnant just received a free next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 13, 2021. The next-gen upgrade allows for the game to run at 4K/30 FPS or 1080p/60 FPS on both PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival action shooter that is set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by monstrous creatures. It was originally released back in August 2019, and was recently a PlayStation Plus title in March 2020.

This game is so underrated and fun that ive alrdy sunk nearly a thousand hours in it. Great coop experience as well.

56:20 Yeah the coloring can be confusing at first: it's a "gold split", i.e. a new personal record for that segment. Splits where time was lost are light green if you're still ahead overall, e.g. the previous split ("Jungle trouble").

Agreed definitely in my top 5. It just has so much replayability with all the dif weapons and survival mode added even more replayability

These devs are cool asf! And happens that they built one of the best games out there, totally underrated, but indeed a big one! Much love for them
Agree, these guys seem super cool and down to earth, no surprise since Gunfire games is a super underrated studio IMO.
It would be nice if the devs would at least get told what the run's category is (and its rules if non-obvious), so they don't have to keep wondering e.g. whether or not it's a seeded run (it's not)
it's fun watching it and correcting devs on their game cause you played this game so many ties through that you remember all the skills and rings

This game is so underrated. Random weapon/item/armor locations...no playthrough is the same...easily a Top 5 game in my book. Can't wait for a potential sequel from the company.

These devs where awesome to listen to and a nice change that they encourage this way if playing and that they do this too is fans making games for fans 👏
that's exactly what happened to me, first miniboss was gorefist, it was extremely painful but it got me hooked.
as dev says run time depends what boss you get which is interesting for this game. If you have shroud instead of Gorefist, it would take longer. Since the teleport delays your attacks. Each boss works in a different way and should have a strategy to defeat them
Love to hear how into it the devs are! Pure appreciation for the speed runner and their work
Now eagerly awaiting to see how someone breezes through the sequel

been playing this with a bud on Apocalypse on a fresh character… one of the most challenging games I’ve ever played. nearly every attack will one or 2 shot. damage output is need negligible. very hard, but very enjoyable.
the character the dev couldn’t remember the name of was randall from monsters incorporated 51:33
that frigging tree took my crew 2 hours to beat. Granted, nothing was a bigger time dump as the two butterflies, but still....
i'm not trynna be mean but how can you take 2 hours on the tree? 😭

This game was amazing with so much potential , if we get a full budget built on top of this formula , twice as big and as much content , and a nice multiplayer hud to meet and trade with new players . Way more in depth mechanics for upgrading and combat , the trait system was amazing . We want more !!! I’m currently playing through this again and will buy dlc soon .
56:28 in regards to the color of the numbers green is on pace, gold is a personal best (fastest time) and red means it's slower

Is gave this an hour or 2 and it wasnt bad but the world felt very empty to me. Is this something that gets crazier as you go with it or are the worlds usually like that?
think of it like dark souls with guns... if u go in expecting doom where shits around every corner no. the first area is a bit of a warmup the 2nd area the desert as they said if u go slow u can get overrun with guys throwing spears

Wish the audio was more synced for this. Seems like they didn't bother telling them the run or editing any of this. Would be cool if the runner had a chance to talk to the devs before or after the run and really explain the biggest questions.
Second run took me about 2.5hours to run through.

Remnant 2 will win game of the year if final fantasy 16 doesn't. In my honest opinion Remnant 2 is the greatest game released in the last 5 years. it does have some glitches but they are faaaaaaaarrrrrrr outweighed by the quality of the gameplay, overall voice acting, weapons/mods/gear/armor, amazing boss fights, build variety/potential, and the abundance of hidden items. I'd give it a 10/10 if they fix the bugs (which they will)
