What Mitch is showing here is that you can do this work without a compressor and pneumatic impact wrench, or a cordless impact wrench, which is a very effective but somewhat specialized setup. If you think what he’s using here are special tools then you have no business doing any work on a scooter. The spanner or pin wrench he used is a $10 Amazon item. You need this for the variator side of the transmission too. The socket wrench is a standard tool anyone who touches an engine should already have. And the giant socket is also something you need to be willing to spend $15 on to save a trip to a mechanic charging $75-125 an hour. You will also need that socket, and a torque wrench, to reinstall the nut with the proper safe tightness or the clutch will fly apart during use.
Mitch is the true Hawaiian mechanic and the only person I know who will not wear shoes while taking things apart or putting them together... LOL... Great job and another great video for those who don't have impacts.
It is a better idea to press those parts together with some screw clamps an then screw the nut back on it. Because if you press not with the same force, you can bend those two discs... I did this mistake the first time, when I replaced the clutch... But the idea of loosing this Nut is really great! Greeting from Germany :)
Hi Mitch, You are great help with you’re videos, if I need maintenance for my Pcx , You’re the man. I have a Pcx 2022 , what size is the big nut holding on the clutch? Is it 39mm? Thanks again.
Hi. Which Dr Pullay slideers do you recommend to Piaggio X7 300 ie (2011). My prio are as follows: 1. would like to increase max speed 2. Fuel consumption 3. Acceleration Thanks a lot!
hi really great staff you upload. What is the wrench size for the big clutch nut on a burgman 400 k7 with a 5 shoe oem clutch. Is it 54mm or 55mm??? Thanks in advance. Keep up the great work
I have a 07 vino 125 and I bumped a sidewalk going about 5 mph while it was still running. I bumped it on the clutch side of the transmission cover and it suddenly sputtered out and hasn’t started since. Do you think I could’ve jumped the timing just by a little bump, or do you think the transmission won’t allow the engine to run because something broke inside of it? Thank you for your videos they are greatly appreciated
Errr............ After you have tipped the scoot on its r/h side by placing the clutch holder tool against the floor, I suggest you find a long steel tube to slip over the holder tool handle and then let that rest on the ground somewhere up near the front of the bike !!! hahaha Sorry Mitch ! 😂
I fixed the title... the special tool is compressor spring tool.. that I didn't use in the video... what tools are special in the video? Torque wrench, socket, breaker bar are common to use for many things... Compressor spring tool is only one time thing to work on scooter... 🤷🏼♂️
All normal for someone running an active scooter RUclips maybe lol. The clutch wrench is the special tool. I specifically clicked on your CLICK BAITY title, assuming it would be how to remove it without that SPECIAL TOOL LOL.

This was one of the coolest scooter maintenance vids I have seen! I'm replacing my clutch spring now. Very helpful!
Great to hear! 😄🙌🏼
What size socket
Hello Mitch, what weight sliders would you recommend on my 2009 stock Ruckus? By the way thanks for all your videos you are awesome! Thanks Chris
You're assuming we're all as coordinated as you are! 😄 Thank you for all you do, Mitch! We appreciate your skills and you're a great teacher!
😄🙌🏼
1:18, there's a nice 39mm x 41mm combination socket available online, substantially cheaper than buying them loose.
Where?
Dude awesome I've been trying to change clutch shoes but haven't been able to find a suitable clutch compressor tool
Yes, I used this method for undoing and tightening the clutch nut, thanks a lot, mate!
Congratulations and thank you, you have come up with a perfect solution to this problem.
Also what is best upgrade to do after the exhaust and carb? I already have a aftermarket pipe and carb ,,,,should I get a aftermarket cvt?

What is the size of socket wrench?
How to do it with the big socket I have the impact
How do you remove the front variator bolt if it's stripped..it's on there really tight and nothing takes it off
Try impact wrench … stripped like is the bolt head stripped? Maybe heat it up and use locking channel pliers and hammer on it to remove
Love the bird sounds
May I ask any reason for not using impact wrench?
Impact wrench ok for removal... not for installation... it can over torque ... torque wrench is safer
@@MitchsScooterStuff can you use an impact wrench and then torque wrench for installation? without a clutch holder?
Hi guys how many MM for the honda ps clutch nut ??
what's the socket number?
penyebab getaran sampai ke body stang dari bagian apa saja selain rumah roller, apakah per sentricfugal atau lainnya

Awesome, thank you!
Anytime!
Sweet!
I use a oil filter wrench and a large socket on an air wrench, no need to even take the pulley off 😎👍
👍🏼👍🏼 I don't have an air wrench... maybe one day!
@@MitchsScooterStuff I use an electric impact gun from Harbor Freight. Very easy for removing the nut.
WHICH MOTORCYLE
Any that have CVT system but all models use different size of socket for that thin nut
socket size? online link

Do you live in Jurassic Park? Great video.
Parabéns excelente vídeo
Anung size po ung socket wrench thank you po
If you slip with the spanner you will need a toe truck 😃
For free??
You did not write what size wrench to unscrew this nut

This can be extreme dangerous!!! If the nut jumps off everyone can loose an eye!!
Excellent superb. R mohan Tamil Nadu.
thank you🖐👌🇮🇱

I use impact screw driver with 34 mm socket with a thick cushion under the clutch setup to loosen and tighten the nut😊😊😊
