I just have to say for anyone looking to buy a pair of SVS Prime bookshelf you could not go wrong. I have owned my SVS PC2000 Pro's and Prime bookshelf along with center channel. Their customer service is above and beyond what you could expect. I had an accident where my Black Lab Bruno knocked the prime off the shelf damaging the woofer. I reached out to SVS to ask about buying a replacement unit. To my surprise they were amazing and shipped out a replacement woofer at no charge. I am speechless and am a customer for life. Very impressed with their customer service.

Thanks for this review. I only hear good things about SVS products. I am so curious to hear SVS for myself. It seems SVS is one company that really know what they are doing. The SVS ultras are on my wanted list.
Nice one Cheapaudioman. Looking for near field to put an a desk, and have some more head room when I need to dance the night away. These SVS, are enticing, so thanks Cheapaudioman.
I know you prefer to stick to Rock for your primary test tracks, but If you ever wanna try another track with super deep bass, I suggest "Thanks To You" by Boz Scaggs. Theres a few points in the song that dig super deep.
I've been watching your videos for a little while, too-ing and fro-ing between speakers to buy, and today I finally bought a pair of these! Thanks - your reviews are great.
Thanks Randy really enjoyed this review since I had never heard of SVS. There are so many bright objects outside that cave I have been in for 20 years, I'm glad your here to show the best of the affordable equipment.
I’m buying a pair of these primarily to watch movies. They’re gonna be paired with an svs subwoofer too. Question is: how necessary would be the prime center with these, given the fact that they have an amazing center image? Can i get away with settling for phantom center? Because that prime center speaker is massive and opposite to other brands, it’s much bigger than the left and right speakers!
That was great, I'd love to hear those. All the speakers I own are soft dome , I want to experience something different. Digging that fancy camera. Great review man 👍
Great video! The production really moved up a level and you kept it light. Love the glass cleaner gag! Laughed out loud twice and again when I loaded up Pet on my Cheapaudioman inspired (approval pending) desktop system. Used Totem Mites - C$275, Topping PA3 - C$200 by the time it got to Canada and an old NextAV Bluetooth receiver I had kicking around (C$40 from Amazon I think). Cables from the ole cable bag that every Dad has in the basement. Keep up the good work!
Damn, I watched this video again. Like, this is legitimately funny. The timing of chugging the glass cleaner, and then the blurry fade in from the bottom, "Hey."

Thanks for being so honest with your reviews...the rest of the audio-files on utube are so bias towards companies that cater to them...I also like how funny you can be with your dry humor😁
The tweeter does have a diffuser ring behind the protective mesh screen. Which may be why it sounds good. An interesting study was done a long while ago, and they found that we humans like what they called a Harman curve - a boost in the bass, and a slight drop in the treble. I think the amount of these slopes is a matter of taste. Flat between about 200Hz and 1kHz is good - and for me with a full range speaker, I like about 0.7dB boost per octave below 200Hz, and a 0.5dB per octave rolloff above 1kHz. So, about 2dB boost at 20Hz - if your speaker goes that low - almost no music has very much below 30Hz. Pipe organs and big drums and synthesizers can get down there. And a total of 3dB drop at 20kHz makes for a neutral *sounding* speaker, in many people's opinion. The Harman in this case, is the same guy in Harman Kardon audio company.
600m is a great speaker at $440. Any higher than that I would look towards something else. The primes are a great and more balanced soeaker than the 600’s
I got mine yesterday and already love them. Can't wait until I have the time to really dial & break them in. A huge improvement over the $100 a pair speakers I had (not that I'm knocking my Micca OoO at all they're just fine) but the SVS Prime really open your eyes to what else is out there svs how much nicer things can be and still be affordable.
Hi, my two cents worth is the background subtle sounds in Pink Floyd recordings. BUT... by far, the best example of this is the Dark Side Of The Moon, "Breathe" and "Time". The whole al bum is full of it, but those two are fucking CRAZY with what you pick out with good clarity and vocal presence.
