That is a perfect starter rig for a young family to use on weekends and 2 week vacations.
-1 Loose the outside fridge and use that space for storage
-2 No ladder - but it likely doesn't have a walkable roof
-3 I would want 2 batteries because of that fantastic 6' compressor fridge
+1 That Murphy bed setup really opens up the interior without the need of a slide
+2 The storage in/out is outstanding for that size rig
+3 The 15" tire rims give it great clearance for exploring. Most all in that size range use 14".
For under $1k if you swapped out the 20lb propane for a 30lb, added a power tounge jack and a 100 watt portable solar kit you would have an incredible rig. This is a big-big-big winner for Forest River!
EDIT: If it is just a single person or a couple you could convert the bunk area for mega storage, or for us it would become a kingdom for the cats!

I believe the roof is walkable, from seeing other reviews. I also agree with the 2 batteries. They should at least give the option for a second.

Love this little trailer, this is exactly the size and features my wife & I will be looking for this spring. I don’t mind the stovetop as it allows the huge sink. I love the versatility of a Murphy bed. I also love the outdoor kitchen. I think you could fit a small 1 or 2 burner Camp stove in there. The shower is a little small but doable. 👍

Thanks to your review we bought this model for $15K. It’s the best model in its category and price range.
We looked at two Gulf Stream models that were slightly cheaper, but neither of the Gulf Streams had double bunks (only singles), only one bunk had a window and not two like this model. Neither Gulf Stream had a Murphy bed, and one of the Gulf Streams didn’t have a bathroom sink and medicine cabinet.
If you see this model first then other models in this category can’t compare.
We are a family of five, so this is perfect for us!

Likes: Large Fridge/Freezer, sink in bathroom, interior color palette
Dislikes: Ext. kitchen area drawer (would prefer tray or nothing), minuscule hanging area, no convection micro, no full wall blocking 2nd bunk
    Really like this trailer overall!

Love that you are featuring entry level trailers.
Likes: 1. Huge awning makes it easier to use outside space in the heat of the day. It is big enough to have a table under it and still be able to move around!! 2. Love the fridge size, the turned 2 burner stove to give you more counter space, love the big sink and the fact they included the covers for the sink. 3. Normally not a fan of murphy beds but I actually like this one, easy set up.
Dislikes: 1. Not a fan of plastic toilets. 2. Dinette cushions do not look comfy and while I like the sturdiness of the table it does look a little tight (as Matt said it is not fat people friendly). 3. Hand crank jack stand (I know it is entry level but make it easy for people).
Wondering what makes this the "Platinum" edition?

what I don't get is the manual stabilizers can be hooked up to an impact wrench or drill(either corded or battery), but the regular jack stand has no way to do that. It's seems like an odd design to still be around in this era.

Ok, I really really like this towable. There is one major thing that is a dislike. This is a travel trailer under 23 ft, which would be perfect for me and my dogs. Why do they need to sleep 7 people in that small space! That is crazy! Take out those two bunks and give me a space to actually relax or a desk to work. And give me a desk/work area. Of course....as always, I don't need a dinette. Take it out and give me a recliner/theater seat. I know the theater seat would increase the cost, but I'd rather pay for the comfort.
I do love that little kitchen. Even the two burner tandem stove top. I"ve always wondered why they made them cock-eyed! It saves space and looks much neater being tandem. And I understand Andrea saying a smaller sink would yield a larger counter, but if you just leave the right half of the sink cover on, then you'd have that counter space.
Please....start turning those fans on before you start the filming. I always feel so bad for you both when you are sweating so badly!

I like the double bunk for storage space. Put up a bungee cord & you can fit many totes in there, top & bottom! As for the floor level under bunks, that’s for my German Shepherd!

    3 Likes:
1: Interior decor and colors are better than most trailers in this class
2: Big compressor fridge inside, and the bonus fridge outside is a nice idea
3: Exterior looks pretty good for this class of trailer, awning is huge as well
    3 Dislikes:
1: Bed seems a bit short
2: Shower surround and curtain look flimsy
3: Bunks are tight (they should have just lowered the bottom bunk close to the floor to increase space in my opinion so adults are more comfortable sleeping in the bunks)

    • @InfernosReaper
      @InfernosReaper 3 года назад +1

Yeah, given how the "outdoor kitchen" is some pointless drawer and a mini-fridge, they probably could've just ditched that design aspect entirely and just made it some light outside storage. That would've freed up a couple of inches to make the bunks more roomy.

I do like the stove with the 2 burners vertical. It looks very residential and it's no big deal to put one pot behind the other, as we do at home.
    - wish it was a microwave/ convection oven. With a tiny kitchen, that would be a better fit.

    Likes:
    1. The awning.
    2. The outside 'kitchen' and shower.
    3. The cook top (sorry, Matt, but that is super cool).
    Dislikes:
    1. No way to shut off bunk area. So, you're traveling with kids...how do you get them settled down without staying out of the rog and not turning any lites on when you come in?? Ugh
    2. The dinette is cheap and flimsy. Again, with a family, how long before it's destroyed?
    3. Flimsy cushions on the couch thingy.
    Thanks.

Love this trailer. Light interior is great. Panoramic window by dinette is awesome! I hate campers with tiny little windows. Double bunks in small trailer? Nice! To me, this isn't just a "start up" camper. My start up camper was a pop-up with manual everything and no bathroom. This camper is pure luxury to me and doesnt seem like it would be a pain to haul or back into a site. Thanks for the great review.

Can you do a video on the 3 RV's with the LEAST amount of Fermaldehyde and toxic off-gassing? I saw the 2021 Mercedes Class B Tommy Bahama has ZERO Formaldehyde and nominal or no off-gassing. This is a huge selling point for people these days, especially full-timers. Please push your manufacturers for more of this type of product. Thank you.

And, personally, I like the two burner cooktop set vertically. I almost never use more than two burners even at home on my big stove, except for Thanksgiving/Christmas, so two burners in an RV just makes sense. As does setting it vertically. That would allow for more counter space...if this unit had a slightly smaller sink.

    • @InfernosReaper
      @InfernosReaper 3 года назад

yeah, the sink seems honestly too big for what it's in. A little more regular counter space would be nice. The sink cover is alright and all, but if you're using that, then you can only use half the sink anyway.

Nice entry level camper. Pluses are: fiberglass siding, love the Murphy bed, with couch on bottom, love the large bunks, there's a lot packed into this tiny camper. Giant sink, I love that. I love the dual burner cook top. That's the biggest compressor fridge I've ever seen in a camper that small. Good call on NOT putting a tub shower in there. Flat floor showers are easier to get in and out of. I'd add a screen room, if that awning can take one. That'd give folks a bit more living space.
Negatives are: heavy tongue weight for such a small camper. That may keep folks from using smaller SUVs with V6s. Weight distribution is really needed. And always remind folks that the more things you put in the camper, the more the tongue weight can go up. I don't care at all for the large "Platinum" graphics, they're too eye catching, they're like a billboard (ugh). They need to be more subtle, and a lot smaller. As usual, I'd upgrade to a convection oven. Small dislike, I'd have gone with a folding table in the dinette area, and as Matt said, one that's smaller. Through the years, I've learned I'm not a fan of those twin pipes in the floor design, they get really hard to pull up and out. Those metal cones in the floor, they are too easily stepped on and they hurt my feet.
The only things I'd improve the design, if possible, is to put a rear hatch behind the bottom bunk and make the bottom bunk hinge up, so folks can get bikes, or small canoes in there. I'd remove the sink from the bathroom, to open up the toilet area, or maybe get a bigger shower stall in there. I have to scratch my head over the tiny outside kitchen area. I'd have definitely put mounts for a grill outside, but the tiny fridge isn't really needed with that giant fridge inside. In fact, I'd trade the tiny fridge outside for a nice slide out grill. Love the camper overall, thank you for reviewing the smaller campers.

Great little trailer! I really like the placement of the Murphy bed, as it doesn’t obscure the view from the large windows. A lot in a little space. Huge awning is def a big plus. Do not like the fact there is very little outside storage for any chairs and/or equipment. Other than that, it’s really a nice little starter-type trailer! OH, and MATT! Agreed the cook top is strange looking, BUT it does give more counter space! 😊

Love the new stove top it’s so much better than that cheap looking one they used to have in there. I honestly don’t have any dislikes except for the fact that it doesn’t have a north-south bed and that’s not really a dislike it’s just a personal preference

Likes: Murphy bed, dinette- as the primary seating, it needs to be large. But the table could a little more fluffy friendly. The stove top- I really like the position. It takes up 1/2 the space a regular cook top would. If there was a smaller sink, you'd have a nice counter top area.
Dislike- no storage for clothes, not much for pantry. I like the Murphy bed, but it sure isn't CPAP friendly.
I'd like to see one this size, but without the bunks. Or at least be able to fold it out of the way to have more flexible use of the space. It's a great size for a couple's camper.

I like it. A doubt I’d use the Murphy bed as a bed unless I had a lot of people camping with me since the bunk beds are full adult size. But I like having the option. The fridge is nice, the bathroom is nice. Kinda wish it had a cassette toilet instead of a regular rv toilet. Limited tank sizes make me regret having to use some of it for that. Not 100% thrilled with the bland colors, but that’s what throw pillows are for. The table is definitely too big for that small of a dinette. I’m kind of ah with the stove. It’s only 2 burners, but it’s flush mounted, so it’s better than those two burner stoves that stick up.

OK, I am going to give Matt my comment to the OEMs so that they would have millions more buyers: Stop with the cheap beds, and the electric awnings, and cheap seats and funky tables!! seriously, have a phenomenal spacious luxurious bathroom, and a comfortable bed, maybe add a desk, a decent kitchen and a great fridge. Tons of solar and wifi, and think about couples of single people. You would have millions more clients, particularly in this environment. To me a RV is to enjoy the outside, while having an awesome john and bed warm or cool. I dont need a sitting roon/living room! They got the whole concept upside down...in my opinion. OK I am available for any consulting hehe...

Allow me to pile on. Stop putting outlets (electrical/USB) high up on a wall. WHY?!? Most people do not like cords dangling in the middle of a wall. No RV, I don't care how cheap or expensive, should ever have metal blinds. Seriously, stop putting in metal blinds! Get more creative with the galley when it comes to counter/prep space. If you're designing an RV for families, guess what? You need some space to prepare meals.

    + bathroom is not a tub/toilet combo
    + fridge
    - Have the bunks designed to convert into a desk area if need be.
    - Needs a convection microwave. Stove is perfectly fine.
    - do the arm rests on the main bed open up for storage?

I like it especially with the bigger fridge but I would like to see it without the Bunks i what they would do with the space.

Lol fantabulous is one of my favorite words! Love this tiny trailer. Fave is the interior, Murphy bed, and fridge. Dislikes...I'm one of those crazy people who love to cook, I want an oven, dont like the top bunk doesn't have a privacy wall and the shower wall peeling off.

Forest River Wild Wood Bunkhouse travel trailer offers unique storage solutions in a well decorated modern designed trailer with an awesome price point.
    Dislikes:
    1) Not a fan of the Dinette, I would rather have a sofa that faces the kitchen given the size of the trailer. I can always get TV dinner trays or a folding table if I need to.
    2) I agree with Andrea, a nautilus shower door would be better. Campers can choose to decorate with a shower curtain outside of that if they want to
    3) Would have liked a second propane tank with cover. (Back-ups and Spares are super important).
    Love
    1) I love the outdoor "kitchen" / storage area, you can keep drinks and snacks out there so you are not running in and out as much while enjoying your surroundings or making a quick pit stop to eat
    2) the indoor kitchen is spacious given the overall size. Excellent size refrigerator, large sink, and I even like the front to back burners given the limited space. Would be nice to have a pop-up counter for a little extra space, when needed
3)The open storage available underneath the bottom bunk is great for storing luggage or supplies and still offer room for a furbaby or two.

I live in a travel trailer, so when I look at one it's from that perspective. The 3 things I don't like are the dinette, if rather there be nothing there so I could put in my own things, it needs at least a convection oven to complete the kitchen (I actually would be happy with a little smaller fridge to make more room for an oven if necessary,) and I also wish the shower curtain would be on a track. The 3 things I love are that there's no slide out, I love the sofa with the loose back cushions, and I love the light colored interior. With a few modifications I could live in this unit. 💗

Murphy bed is awesome. We are getting ready to buy a camper. This is high on the list. We are debating weather to get something this size or smaller. It's hard to find a small camper with a big fridge and toilet that doesn't break the bank. Seems you get a way better deal in the 20' range.

Love the weight. Love the murphy bed. Love the fridge. Dislike the bunks. No place for a coffee pot. The microwave should be a convection.

As to stove top, 2 burners ok but could be offset a bit like taking one rear burner off usual 3 burner one, so handle isn't swinging over counter space. Like outdoor fridge, could have put pull out sink there and door for rest of space in rear. Would prefer to have 2 propane tanks on front, roof solar hookups too. Would get rid of bottom bunk, have top one as a single, with more cabinets under so have decent wardrobe or pantry space; still sleeps 5 with dinette.

Y’all from PG County? The earring thing cracked me up. I really liked the awning, the corner sink in the bathroom (I wish we had one in our Aspen Trail!) and how light and bright the bunkhouse is! I didn’t like the flimsy look of the dinette, smaller fridge would give you more counter space and possibly the four P’s and that was about it for the dislikes. Thanks for doing towables, especially the bunkhouse floor plan!

MATT, PLEASE start measuring beds, bunks & showers!!
LOVE: 1) the double bunks (do wish there was an access door for bikes, coolers etc) 2) the BIG fridge/freezer cuz kids are always hungry lol 3) the long counter space (the sink is not stainless tho and awfully large) 4) love the outdoor fridge/food area cuz again, kids always need food!
DISLIKE: 1) no pantry 2) no towel storage in bathroom, even just a few of those netting type things in the bathroom would help for towels, toilet paper etc 3) no enclosed underbelly and that drain pipe looks like somethings wrong or going to go wrong real fast lol 4) no privacy curtains for any of the beds 🤷🏼‍♀️

Three things I like: 1) Small size, Easy tow. 2) Large Mid-size refer/freezer. 3) Lots of sleeping areas... Three things I don't like: 1) No double sink to wash on one side and rinse on the other. 2) No convection or propane oven. and 3) No privacy curtains.

The 2 burners aligned that allows for a griddle placement which isn’t possible with the traditional 3 burner configuration.

I don't use more than 1 or 2 burners cooking so I like the space savings. Large sink is a bonus. Need MaxAir Fans. What is the construction/ roof and truss. AWESOME fridge!

    I am very confused about this vlog;
The description said it came with 2 LP tanks. - But there is only room for 1??
Matt said the refrigerator "Is cool just from the battery" - But there is no battery on the frame??
Andrea said the bunk was comfortable - But she had to double herself in-order to use it??
I like the little cook-top. It's all you need and it doesn't use space, it doesn't need.
The AC size seems very good for this space.
The tank drains will break off before the 1st year is over. They are too low and doesn't look supported very well.
For around $16,000 or maybe $18,000 - It will be a great seller.
They PLASTERED the name in too many places - for a small trailer. If you combine the decals - they take more space than the largest window.
A small 'portico window' on the front would be awesome.

The 3 things I like about this travel trailer:
    1. the Murphy bed
    2. the fridge
    3. the awning, combo that with the outside fridge
The 3 things I don't like about this travel trailer:
    1. the shower curtain
    2. not a lot of counter space: I wish there was a flip up counter top
    3. the dinette

Really surprising interior! Love the fridge, the awning is great, the stove top is nice, nice sink, Murphy bed is pretty nice, bathroom is nice for such a small trailer. Exterior looks really good and I like that small outside fridge. I don't mind the shower curtain but would rather have the porcelain toilet, and wish the dinette was, like Matt said, had a smaller table and a little more room in the seats. Another great video from the greatest of the great.
