  • Hey everyone welcome back to another video. Today I am super exited were taking a look at one of the smallest bunk house travel trailers on the market. This is the 2021 Coachmen Clipper 17BH. This travel trailer is AMAZING for how small it is. What is so great is how much they stuff in the tiny home of a trailer. Also I love how the bunk beds have that access door in the back.

    Likes 1 the steps, 2) the storage, & the awning. Dislikes 1) manual tongue jack, 2) the size of the door for the under bunk storage (it doesn’t need to go higher than the floor of the bed / more space for air leakage, & 3) no oven.

    I really like this little trailer. Big enough for me and my fur babies. Bottom bunk for my dog, because she likes cave-like hiding spots. And the top bunk would be perfect to keep the cat food and litter box available for the kitty and away from the dog! I have no dislikes. Just love!

    It's a good low end starter towable for someone who has a strong V6 to pull it. I could see this being a lot of folk's first camper. It ticks all the boxes: small, lighter, cheaper, but still has enough room for up to 5 people. Pluses are: foldable bunk, with bigger door, for short canoes, and/or maybe bikes, a nice sized bathroom (I agree no sink is right thing to do) for that small of a camper, and a power awning. Things I don't like, are basic, such as I'd prefer the emergency hatch be in the back (if possible) so it's easier to slide canoes into the bunk area. I'd have preferred they put in IKEA like ribs under the bunks and the queen bed. The ribs aren't expensive, they're light, and they add a "box-spring" feel to the mattresses. Lastly, upgrade the microwave to a convention oven, it's worth the extra $. It doesn't need a gas oven. I'd also look into a screen room add on for the big awning, it would (especially in the south) add some nice living space to the camper. Love the video, thanks for covering the smaller, lighter campers!

Three dislikes 1) low ceiling, I am 6’3” and need higher roof, 2) manual tongue jack, might as well stay with my popup 3) dinette looks tight, would have like to see Will sit in it. We are looking for an entry level TT to upgrade from our POP. Can you do a review on a unit that has walk around bed (room for CPAP) and large dinette area, but still self-contained, no slides? Glad you are doing entry level trailers. I like seeing what is available out there.
    Dislikes: 1. Manual tongue jack. 2. Not a fan of wood frame trailers due to safety concerns.
    3. Bed orientation, while I understand why they placed the bed this way, climbing over your partner to get up is not good. 4. No oven, I would rather have a stove/oven combo and not have a microwave. 5. Bathroom, just a no, too small. 6. Small tight bunks, okay for small children but really no one else. 7. While I appreciate what they were trying to achieve, the whole trailer feels very tight and cramped.
    Likes: 1. Large awning to enjoy the outdoors and extend the living space. 2. Sturdy entry steps. 3. Movable table so if you are boondocking you can take it outside. 4. Storage areas.

    Great review! I have a 2021 17fq and wanted to just see this. Being a big guy definitely has its shortcomings (I'm big dude too). These trailers ARE narrow. My lady and I do the dance passing each other too. The walk-around queen in mine helps - I see anyone hitting their head getting out from the wall-side in this one. I really have no complaints being a new owner tho. There are always gonna be gripes. That factory mattress is atrocious. It had to go!I am looking for a way to attach the dinette cushions cuz they move getting out and it's annoying (adhesive velcro pads didn't work) Great video tho.

    Way too small for me, would be a hard pass. That being said;
    Dislikes:
    1) I'm 6' and chubby so this travel trailer would most likely not be comfortable for height and weight.
    2) I agree with Matt about the kitchen, needed either an oven or convection oven
    3) would have preferred a sofa bed with how small the trailer is
    Likes / Loves:
    1) Nice, Big awning space for the outside with good solid steps
    2) Large bunkhouse storage door
    3)pass through storage under the bed

    Not a Hobbit. So this one is a definite no for me.

    This is a camping trailer. For what it is it's OK. Older campers always managed to have an oven. JS. That bathroom is passable. This is definitely not for full timers.
