I decided to do a tribute to an absolutely incredible true story-Hacksaw Ridge. Andrew Garfield delivers the performance of his career as Private Desmond Doss, a man who refused to carry a weapon in WWII but still went on to save dozens of lives. Against all odds, he stayed true to his beliefs and became the first conscientious objector to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Desmond Doss served as a combat medic in World War II. During the Battle of Okinawa, he defied all odds, rescuing 75 men under relentless enemy fire. As a conscientious objector, he refused to carry a weapon, relying instead on his unwavering faith and determination.
Despite skepticism from his commanding officers, sergeant, and fellow soldiers, Doss proved them all wrong. His courage and selflessness earned him the Medal of Honor, making him the only conscientious objector to receive this prestigious award during the Second World War.
Staying true to his beliefs, Doss showed that heroism isn’t defined by the weapons one carries, but by the convictions one refuses to surrender.
