That piece of coral now hangs over my desktop in my Navy case with all my awards and medals from my time in the service as a reminder of the sacrifice the Navy endured and suffered to take that island from the Japanese in 1945.

This is an amazingly well made tribute. I bet the real Desmond Doss in heaven would be thanking you.
If you ever feel like you need a bit of motivation to keep serving God, be it breaking an addiction, serving your church, or loving your family, just look to Desmond Doss. His is the story of a true man, a man who didn't have the muscles, the guts, or the girls, but he just kept going, kept praying, and kept serving, never expecting a reward on this earth. What a man, what a man. I hope to see him someday in Heaven.
In all due respect to everyone involved. I think the ridicule that Doss had to endure sort of acted as fuel to his fire. I believe it made him stronger and helped him be the best he possibly could, driving him all the way down to his core not stopping until he knew everyone that could be saved was saved.

27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29 And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also.
Jesus prayed for those who crucified him. Imagine that!
May God help us!
@@andrewmoturi6906 that's not just Christianity, that's what a decent human being should strive to be 🤷🏻♂️
@@TheMadden nope no one denies that
@@TheMadden many have faith and couldn't come close to him. Many atheist can though. Firefighters going straight in fire or danger for example. Not many can risk their lives to be heroes without a second though. "my body moved on it's own" to save. That's a hero. You don't think about god when saving someone. You worry if you can save them first. Faith was a tool that pushed his character further. But faith isn't the only tool to reach your limit as a human history and the present had proved that many times
@@BigTitLover69420But without God, what reason do we have to save people? Only selfish ones.
Man this is so good, I've already told you but I'm gonna say it again. One of my all time favorite tributes, everything is perfect.
Thank you, bro
Yes it is
@@jdsedits please reupload your thanos video please
Almost made me shed a tear. Desmond was a real hero. And an amazing example to keep your principles. Even when its tough to keep them, it will be the best decision to keep holding on
Almost???? lol
Desmond Doss, a true American hero, whose service to his country won’t soon be forgotten.
everytime i see clips of this movie, it makes me want to cry. the sacrifice these men made is unmatched. The sacrifice and reserve of Desmond Doss is inspirational. all of us should be grateful to them for our brave soldiers who gave it all in the name and meaning of FREEDOM. Desmond Doss ..sir you are a hero.
people dont know nowdays, hell even i dont, to run to hellfire unarmed and unmatched is just insanity, they dont make men like that no more
“A person's ethics and character are not tested in good times. It is only in bad times that a person shows how steadfast he is to his dharma.”
― Amish Tripathi, The Immortals of Meluha
What a legend! Stuck to his values, beliefs, and principles every single day until he left us all in 2006. RIP Sir! You will always be in our hearts. Forever!
God rose Jesus from the dead 3 days after his crucifixion. Proving his love for us regardless of what we have done he still has hope so should u. ✝️❤️
Amazing portrayal of a true hero. Andrew G deserved an oscar for this performance.
Staying true to your ideals even when pushed to the absolute limits. That's strength right there. Absolute masterpiece of cinematography.
Hugo Weavings performance as a ww1 vet was astounding.
beautiful job man. One of my favourite war movies, so happy you decided to do a tribute for it
Thank you for watching :)
Yoo its CW edits love your tributes and videos man
"while everybody is taking life, I'm gonna be saving it." one of my favorite lines in the movie
This movie will always have a special place in my heart. A man of principal and morals unwavering in the face of extreme adversity. Rare few compare to Desmond Doss. A true diamond in the rough!
A man who truly loved God.
If you don't believe in God after seeing the feats of Desmond Doss then I don't know what to say... God Bless him.
I believe in the will of an human being, the will to safe others, the will te be good, the will to not turn in a blind killing machine, I see bravery, I see power, I see a hero
Amen
@@retr0of300these are qualities of Jesus, brave , strong, and unwilling to give up.
This should've been the trailer for the movie, amazing editing
Andrew not only nailed the acting but also nailed the look of Desmond. Very rarely in historical movies do the actors look like the real person at all.
One of the greatest men to ever live
One of the greatest Christians ever
I pray I can be 1/10 the man he was.
*RIP Desmond Doss*
Cant belive this story was based on a real man. What a legend. His name should live on forever. Not only among the US but every country. He hated fighting and only wanted to help the wounded. Not kill needlessly.
This is without a doubt the best war movie i ever watched....i know i'll still cry if i watch it again
hands burned to tendons by sliding ropes, carrying no rifle but twice the supply of medical equipment, the work of an entire platoon done on a day where prayer was made, smart and clever, strong and fast, god or no god he saved more then others, moving until his body gave out, the enemy ignoring wartime rules he was beaten and bruised, but like the cliff on that ridge, that was bombed, shot and blasted, HE DID NOT FALL
I may not be Christian or follow any religion, but I always admire people who follow strong morals no matter what stands in their way. I hope I can be strong and committed like Desmond in my life no matter what I do.
Jesus will always be there waiting for you my friend
Hacksaw ridge is a freacking masterpiece
I think this is the greatest most humble, honorable, courageous, valiant, strongest, admirable and greatest man act I’ve ever seen. Thank you for your service! What a true legend!
If I had to say that Desmond doss was an Angel sent from heaven, and he was sent to protect the men. As a human in disguise he bled, he cried, he damn near blew his own legs off, and had his arm broken with a sniper and used a rifle butt as a splint.
a true memory that was impossible to possible
He plays this role to perfection....made the entire movie one of the best i've watched!
Ww2 was around 80 years ago, and its stories are still being told, the heros still being sung. The legacy of these men will never die out as long as there are people who know the stories.
Doss is arguably the bravest man to have lived ... Inspirational
Love seeing you update the older versions, allowing you to showcase more of your talents. I still remember watching the original one a few years back and being in such awe. This one was no different. Amazing job man! A beautiful tribute for a beautiful movie
Thank you so much for the kind words
I don't know what he was made of, but he wasn't built in the same factory as the men he rescued. He had friends in very high places watching his back on the battlefield and didn't quit until he got those men to safety. Desmond Doss will forever be one of the greatest legends in military history. Rest well, Pvt. Doss. You earned it.
I have a piece of coral from the beach below Hacksaw Ridge given to me by my Marine brother who was stationed on Okinawa. He told me of the many caves he found while off duty that contained extensive artifacts from that battle including several badly worn letters that he picked up and was able to translate later. That piece of coral now hangs over my desktop in my Navy case with all my awards and medals from my time in the service as a reminder of the sacrifice the Navy endured and suffered to take that island from the Japanese in 1945.
“The real heroes are buried over there” Desmond doss
If anyone deserved more than 1 Medal of Honor this guy does
Fun fact: Andrew Garfield was 32 YEARS OLD when he played in Hacksaw Ridge. Bro still looks the same nowadays as well, even though he's 40.
Your attention to detail and ability to dissect the storytelling elements truly sets your channel apart. I particularly loved how you seamlessly weaved together your insights on character development, animation techniques, and thematic exploration. It's evident that you've done your research, and it's incredibly refreshing to see such a well-crafted and meticulously thought-out discussion.
Honestly, i miss when people were as honorable and patriotic as during the 40s and 50s. I understand that the coutnry changed, but it makes my blood boil when people desecrate and spit on the historu and memory of the men and women who died for our freedom. Thank you Desmond, you were a true hero
That's because you're seeing a cherry-picked history. People weren't more honorable in the 40s and 50s, especially not the US.
(This doesn't make Desmond any less of a hero, though.)
@@ladywaffle2210 but compared to now, they were a lot more honorable and honestly more badass imo
@@leoperez9825 No. No, they were not. The only things they had were more chances to demonstrate their badassery. They were most certainly not more honorable-and I'll prove it, with the amount of war crimes the US committed just during the Second World War.
You did am astounding job on this video!!!!!!!👍🏻
It truly gives justice to Desmond, Andrew, and Hacksaw Ridge!!!!
This man, one in a million... RIP to one of the greatest men to ever live and walk on this earth..if only there were only more human beings like him.
A true real life hero. I saw this movie, watched it 3 more times after that later. Love it so much. The amount of courage and self-sacrifice it took to face death head on in this great act of kindness, I can't even fathom it. I hold this man to the highest regard I possibly can, and then even more.
12/13/22 Edit: I just watched it again. Such a good movie.
9/20/23 Edit: I'm joining the U.S. military. Almost done with the joining process.
08/06/2024 Edit: I'm active duty now, have been for a bit. So uh, yeah.
May the lord sand Doss to look over you and keep you alive
Andrew Garfield not winning the Oscar for this film is a robbery.
That.......was......AMAZING!!!!
Praise the lord.
* In the background: Desmond Doss confronting the officials, his ' speech ' that emphasizes it is wrong to kill a human as it goes against God, and while everyone is taking life, he will be saving it.
* Video : the battle scenes from the movie, with Desmond's words visualized as subtitles..
This is an amazingly well made tribute.
I bet the real Desmond Doss in heaven would be thanking you.
Arguably the greatest Medal of Honor recipient ever.
I can’t even tell you how emotional 🥹 and how much I cried. This was one of the most beautiful edits I’ve ever seen.
This is the greatest edit i have ever seen. It gave me the feeling like i was inside a cinema i got chills.
“A true believer” 🕊
In all due respect to everyone involved. I think the ridicule that Doss had to endure sort of acted as fuel to his fire. I believe it made him stronger and helped him be the best he possibly could, driving him all the way down to his core not stopping until he knew everyone that could be saved was saved.
I remember hearing of desmond doss story and it moved me at a young age, now at 19 I am working to become a 68 W (combat medic) and looking forward to helping my allies, and using what I am learn to become a nurse to save more
1:47 Smash cut to like day 3 on the ridge... "Why are you not up on the ridge?!" "We're waiting." "Waiting for who?" "Doss, sir" Fricking epic scene, especially when you realise that it was literally the fact that anyone that went up alongside Doss? With only a very rare couple of exceptions, if that, they always came back down.
Truly no man could have been more brave than Desmond Doss.
The Lord was working throw this man Desmond Doss
He has inspired me, I am going to serve.
One of the greatest war tributes I have ever seen I'm speechless at how amazing edited this was you really captured this movie perfectly. I really loved your choice of music combined with your use of sfx it make this masterpiece something truly special 💙
Thank you for the kind words and support 💙 always appreciated
Hacksaw Ridge was one of the more emotional and inspirational movies for me that I have seen in my lifetime. The fact that it is based on a true story really makes me have hope in humanity, thank you Desmond Doss for helping all those people out instead of killing.
Even the smallest amount of light can defeat darkness… Desmond T. Doss was proof of that
I come back to this video once a month... It's beautiful.
When I watched this movie the part that gave me cry was when he came down from the ridge after saving so many, and he was walking between all the other soldiers and they were putting their hands on his shoulders to reassure him, and they all just had this look of awe on their faces that this man had risked his life over and over, despite how they had treated him.
watched this film today, absolutely amazing film. 10/10.
I love this so much, you’re an incredible editor. You captured the essence of the story and the character beautifully, I had goosebumps watching this. Amazing job.
Desmond Doss, a man among men who eclipsed all forms of understanding during the era where our world was dyed black and white. The fruits of his efforts produced a beautiful shade of grey, concocted with his cast iron conviction forged in honor and respect for his fellow man. Kissed by the angel of death numerous times only to pick himself up and push his battle damaged vessel to it's utmost limit. Hanging on a thread uttering the words that spurred his undying will, "Just one more.". In any era of life there are a seldom few who in every possible sense are the epitome of a hero. Desmond Doss, is one of those seldom few.
Wow that was amazing one of your best video mate! This was so smooth!
Thanks mate :)
Most impactful movie i have watched in my 30 years of life.
God bless the brave.
Desmond doss recieved the Medal of Honor for saving 70 men on Hacksaw Ridge and for courage under most fire.
i havent watched this movie and after watching the first 30 seconds of this video i have decided that im gonna watch the movie first and then this edit.
Edit : i watched the movie and it was probably the best movie I've watched this year, Andrew Garfield was phenomenal.
i remember when i wrote a paper about dos, and nevrer regret it thank you for giving his memory back to me
WOW. Definitely one of the BEST edits I've seen. Great work.
Clips like this is what fills my void.
How did he not win an oscar for this?
The man who fought a war without having to fight.
Desmond Dodd is the embodiment of not just an American Hero, but just a Hero.
The power of prayer and commitment to God is truly amazing. Never give up on God!
Amen❤
This movie, shows a lot of things:
1 is that, no matter what one says, keep going, don’t stop
2 is that, stand out, don’t hide in the crowd.
3 is… most people don’t know this story, and one day, he’ll be forgotten, don’t forget the heroes of our past that allows today, don’t forget that.
1:23 Even despite that this movie doesn't have any relation to Marvel Universe or his role as Spider Man, I can't stop watching Andrew Garfield as the Spider Man and Captain America from WW2 at the same time, but without super powers and from another dimension. Specially due to his moral codes of not killing anyone, just like his character of Peter Parker, and thanks to No Way Home and Dr. Strange.
This movie made me cry so hard. He was an amazing person.
This is a masterpiece my dude
Thank you
