Interesting product. I could see this working well as an all over concealer under powder foundation because it's less likely to move around as much as a liquid concealer.
Love the Gwen Stefani look!! Your eyelashes look so full and long!! The pencil seems like a nice, natural look. And you are right. Bobbi Brown is no longer associated with the company. Thanks, Shelly. ❤❤
Hi Shelly.....That lipstick is the perfect shade of red for you! I love it ❤ I think the Face Pencil is a great concept. I think I'm past the point of such minimal coverage, but it looks really pretty on you. Your skin looks fresh and beautiful.❤
My question is why didn’t they make that a stick (tube) base or foundation instead of a small pencil? Looks like that little pencil will go fast in a short amount of time. Looks interesting tho, and u look beautiful!
That's a good point. I wonder how long that pencil would last compared to a stick foundation or regular foundation. That $26 price point might not be as good as you think then.
Hi Shelley it's a small amount of product for $25 to use all over the face. As a stick concealer then yes - the format is handy, but I'd want it to work at my eyes too. That's the lightest shade - the bobbi brown alabaster is a bit yellow on me, so I doubt this will work either. On you it looks great, but you don't have a lot to cover. I have rosacea and a fair bit of redness due to that, so i would need a tinted moisturiser first and apply this in spot areas for more coverage. I think for the money I would rather buy a stick foundation tbh - more product and used in a similar way. Just my opinion of course. I hadn't heard about this line/product before, so that's interesting. My favourite base from bobbi brown was the extra repair tinted balm - I used a few jars of that in my twenties and thirties lol, but I didn't have as much redness then. Best wishes.
Thanks, Kat!!! I've been sort of remembering to use the Maybelline lash serum on my lashes/brows for the past month or so (I remember maybe once every 2-3 days lol). It helps!!
I've never tried anything Bobbi Brown but have heard such good things between both the makeup and skincare line. Gonna look into it more with the sale going on. Was going to buy a Dyson tool but they sold out already!!
I’m thinking...if you put the CT Hollywood glow stuff all over and then put this on it would be a wonderful combo!!! Maybe maybe not! 🤷🏽♀️ Anyway, it’s lovely as are you! Have a great remainder of the week!!!
These remind me of the Josie Maran concealer sticks. I use them just to hide the rosacea on my cheeks when I am in a hurry and just lounging around the house and just trying to cover up the redness
I really like this concept too. Interesting product. It seems to go on fairly well and does a decent job covering while looking completely natural! Me likey. 😋😋
You do the best foundation reviews! Would be interested in your thoughts on the Merit Beauty Complexion Stick and the Saie Beauty Slip Tinted Moisturizer. Wonder how the Merit stick compares to the Jones Road Pencil...
Your skin is absolutely radiant after doing your makeup. If that's down to the Charlotte Tilbury I think I'm gonna have to start saving to invest in some
The Hollywood Flawless Finish - I have 2 shades of it so I can wear it year-round! The way it works to me is.... think of a smoothing primer, something like the Benefit PoreFessional or a putty primer - the visual effect of that (what I think of as Photoshop for my face). The texture is nothing like that at all - it's more of a creamy texture - but the visual effect is that kind of smoothing of lines and pores. But it has a luminosity to it, so it also has a highlighting effect - but somehow it's not a highlighter and you can use it all over your face, not just the high points. I don't know what kind of magic makes all of that so, but I apply it over my whole face, either with fingertips or with a sponge if I want to concentrate it more like a highlight. It's great for no-makeup makeup but it also taps in over foundation just fine. It's a product that if I had to pick only 10 things to use for the rest of my life, it would be one of them.
Impressive you looked great with this more natural look. Nice to show off your beautiful skin. I need to look into this line a bit more. Bobbi Brown is amazing!
I'm a little late here, but thanks for the review. Was wondering about this product but it's not something I can use during the day on top of my sunscreen without moving it around.
Thanks for this! I have been waiting for reviews of Jones Road. I started with Bobbi Brown decades ago. Still use several products. Curious about this and her other products. Not shipping internationally yet ☹️

Thanks for reviewing this product. Had no idea it existed and now I may get it. I wonder how it would work by rubbing fingertips onto the pencil and then pressing or tapping into skin. My concern is applying over sunscreen because moisturizer over sunscreen will disturb or take away sunscreen coverage. I bet it would work great with those shiny cast sunscreens.
Very cool product. LOL, my nose is the area where that I want fuller coverage. I blow my nose all the time because of allergies. A portable product to touch up my nose would be nice.
I got this but returned it. It didn't provide enough coverage and wasn't the right color for concealer. I think the Mercier new color corrector would work better....it's next on my list.
Ooo, I'm into this! I get going w/ my Anastaisia pro pencils & end up doing a similar thing. I love those pencils. Odd how they just melt into the skin, "if" you pat & press. Going to try the add more moisture to places it sticks. Thanks! Heading over to your link, checking these out!
I used to use a similar product in the mid 90s, possibly a Clinique pencil? I loved it because I was so rubbish at makeup then (and not much better now ☺). It was so easy to apply and looked so natural. Pretty sure it was then discontinued (like everything I love 🙄) so I was intrigued to see this. Thanks Shelly. 😊
Another great review. Thank you. Georgeous look. Love the braids. One only wonders what happens with the applied sunscreen when rubbing. Especially these mineral sunscreens.
I wait at least 15-30 minutes after applying sunscreen to do any of this makeup/etc so my hope is that it has set in by then. (It's more like a few hours of waiting these days since I don't need to do my makeup before work at home, lol).
At the beginning close up I actually thought in the camera (vs what you see in real life) the Face Base side looked less flaky with better coverage 🤷🏼♀️
Hi Codi! I've spent about the past year using the Maybelline lash serum (on my brows as well as my lashes) - maybe twice a week because I forget the rest of the nights. Then when I apply my moisturizer at night, I take what's left on my fingers after applying and run it through my brows to kind of train them to go upwards and fluffy-like rather than laying down flat. Then I use either Got2B hair gel or Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze on them when I apply my makeup and brush them upwards! (It's also quite lucky that I survived the 90s without plucking them, so there's that).

I really like the idea of this product, but it worries me to have to add an emollient moisturizer on top of my sunscreen. Could it mess up the film formation of the sunscreen?
The fact that even dermatologists don't agree on whether sunscreen goes before or after moisturizer, on top of the variations in advice on whether it's chemical (some say it should go under moisturizer because it needs to absorb into the skin) or mineral/physical (some say it should go after moisturizer).... No, Bobbi Brown lost the legal use of her name. That's why she started Jones Road. I learned about it watching Emily Baker. She's a lawyer that breaks down legal cases that are publicized. There's a woman who's fighting right now to get her name for wedding dress designs but apparently she signed a contract that may keep that from happening. It's what happened with Bobbi Brown. Btw, Jones Road has some really pretty sparkly eyeshadows in a cream formula that I've seen others use. They're on my wishlist. Just an fyi. I love that red lipstick on you! It's really gorgeous on you!

I like the idea of this and the shade was perfect for you. As for it being a tad over drugstore pricing, you couldn't be more wrong. $25 for 1/10th of an ounce? That's $250 an ounce. Ain't no drugstore foundation that high... I can see me going through that product in no time trying to get better coverage on some of my sunspots. It may make a freaking awesome concealer but trying to convince me that I can like my skin and still see my skin? A tinted moisturizer will do just fine, thank you very much. Glad you tried it, glad I watched this but super happy that I won't be buying this in my future.
Ounce per ounce, yes - you're right. I should have clarified that I was directing the ballpark pricing at the other part of my commenters that don't care about the measurement equivalencies and just shop at a particular price point. (It's not how I shop, but there are far more people that shop that way than I ever expected!) I did not intend to imply that it's affordable per ounce. It's definitely a prestige price point in that regard.
@@goow Yup afraid so. They have control amount of shares right now. The ordinary website has changed immediately. Regimen builder is useless. Hopefully no big price hikes but a lot of people aren't happy because of the cruelty free status of the ordinary and no cruelty free with E.L. Also a lot of people are saying that out of respect to Brandon and his belief that este Lauder were pushing him out that the deal should never have gone ahead. Deciem posted about the increased investment from Estee lauder on their fb page.

👍✌
When Lauder bought Bobbie Brown the brand lost my interest
And now they're buying out The Ordinary and people are losing interest there too.
oh wow I didn't realize they were buying The Ordinary!
Oh I see you still have that mirror..🤣
