I got this foundation in an Ipsy bag like a year ago (I still have it n use it). I have fair cool. I really like it. Great coverage n was nice on my 43yr old skin. Also it lasts all day in the Las Vegas heat for me where I live. Cool to finally see someone review it!! Looks great on u Shelly🤗 This foundation always makes my dryish skin look juicy!!
i really have to say again, this is your best skin on skin looking foundation iv'e seen on you in a long time. it's natural looking, that's the word i was looking for.
Shelly...why are you doing this to me!!?? I’m not in the market for a foundation, but this looks and sounds exactly what I want. Really, so so glad that you’ve reviewed it. I would love to hear an update after wearing for a while. Thanks a bunch, girlie🍃🌸
I'm pretty blown away by this one :) I will definitely keep you posted! It's the kind that will likely show up in my favorites, if the couple times I've worn it so far are any indication!
Your review on Kensa was done three years ago, but I just saw it a few days ago. I already use Purlisse BB cream and love it. Hadn’t heard of Kensa before. Based on your recommendation, I ordered a tube of it in the lightest shade. It was a little too pale for my skin, but I added another darker foundation and it works very well. This is a beautiful foundation. My skin has never looked so smooth. It has the right amount of glow, covers well enough for my skin and probably the best foundation I’ve ever used. Very impressed.
Best review!! I have used IT cosmetics CC for years and years but have been wanting to try Yensa. I did not know they are owned by Purlisse. Thanks to this review and will dare and buy Yensa to try it out. Love that I found your channel! You are so insightfull, detailed and fun to watch :)
I’ve been seeing this a lot on Instagram and it’s had me intrigued. There’s not many reviews on it. So glad to see you review it. Even though I don’t need another foundation. For some reason it’s my weakness. An I always buy new ones, trying to find my favorite one.
Girl, same. I have a ridiculous amount of foundations and several waiting in my Ulta and Sephora baskets. I have a problem! 😂😂 Still haven't found my favorite but Estee Lauder Futurist is my favorite out of my collection so far.
you look sooo pretty in natural light!!!! I love that foundation--I go between this and Totale Capture by Dior--they actually seem similar texture! However I got the YENSA SERUM Concealer and I literally HATE IT! Returning this!
Shelly, your skin looked flawless and beautiful, especially in natural light! I’d be interested in giving this a shot with the Florida heat and humidity. Thanks for another great video! Take care y’all!
This was surprisingly lovely! I rolled my eyes at the beginning "BB plus CC plus ..." but I sat up pretty quick at it covering your chin. Adding this to my black Friday list.
Right?! Nothing covers my chin!!! (I have never figured out why!) But this does! I wore it yesterday with no primer and applied with fingertips and it was equally wonderful. This one is winning my heart.
I bought this a little while back in one of Ipsy's sales and have been loving it. I thought to myself, "I wonder if Shelly tried this and what she thought if she did." Sure enough, you reviewed it and loved it as well. I've got the light neutral also. I must be just a little fairer than you bc this is just a tad dark for me right now. I'm hoping with summer coming along that it will match better bc I just love how it looks on my skin. Yensa just came out with a new serum foundation. I received it in last month's Ipsy Plus but haven't tried it out yet. I would love to see you review that one as well. Thanks Shelly!
This one is totally winning my heart! I've now also tried it with no primer and fingertip application, and with a primer oil - all 3 ways so far wear brilliantly. And I am so in love with the undertone (which of course is a personal preference that might not work for others, but anyone that loves CYO 101 will probably love this shade!)
You do an amazing job! I was curious about this foundation. I prefer full coverage foundation! Thank you for this review 🙏 YOU 🎸 ROCK! You're so pretty!
I received this in my Ipsy bag. I absolutely love it. It's full coverage but not so heavy. I love the fact that only a small amount goes a long way. Definitely worth it!
I got their concealer in a ipsy bag and was BLOWN AWAY, I use it more than my Nars radiant, you only need the tiniest amount for a truly beautiful finish
Soooooo excited!!!!!!!! Purlisse had commented on my review of the BB cream, and then reached out after that video to send me Yensa to try - and good on them, because I hadn't heard of Yensa and had no clue they existed, and now I know for sure I'm going to buy the primer and probably more from the brand (because, you know me). They've got a new brand-fan in me! Who knows how long it would've taken me to find and try them otherwise. Hat tip to whoever is managing their socials and keeping an eye out for mentions (and doing cross-branded promotions! They know what they're doing)!
Geek Out of Water You’re reviews aren’t excellent, they obviously are happy about their products. Seeing you use them is a major....”I’m gonna need that” moment!
Just happened across your video while reordering my foundation. I discovered Yensa in my ipsy bag many months ago and I LOVE it...It is the bomb. ALMOST don't need primer although I use it along with setting spray.
Wow, so smooth! And finally an actual neutral undertone. From this side the brush application looked like silk, seriously. This is the level of coverage I like most, not too much but still evens out the redness and texture. The shade too was such an excellent match for your skin tone. :-)
I've been wanting to try this for a long time but it wasn't available in the US until recently. I went to buy it and saw that it's loaded with fragrant essential oils, which is a big no no for me. Why do brands do this??? They shouldn't be applied to the skin because they're highly irritating. While not everyone will have an issue with them, the benefits are negligible at best and the product won't perform any better without them. Sorry for the rant but I have ultra sensitive and reactive skin and this has been an ongoing battle for me. The rise of the clean beauty nonsense means that every brand wants to cash in so they put these useless ingredients in their products and it's hard to escape them, even if the product isn't labeled as "clean".
Oh wow. She was a power ranger! Cool. Rachel's favorite show growing up. I've gotten a couple of Yensa products in my Ipsy bag. The BB + is nice! The color you have is a perfect match for your skin. Fantastic product, and the rest of your makeup looks great. Enjoy your weekend❣❤
I'm so excited for this shade!!!! I need the self tanner to fade off of my arms from my Clarins tests (wow, that stuff stays put and is not patchy even in the slightest! So bravo on the self tanner, I suppose! But go away now so I can be pale again lol).
@@goow you are too funny. By September, I'm so done with self tanner. I figure I'm back in jeans and long sleeve tops. The color is your shade, for sure!
Yay!! So glad you reviewed this brand-I had gotten a small size of the foundation and concealer in my Ipsy bags and loved both. Now I’m going to have to check out the rest of the line...❤️ Thanks for another great video😁
I have recently discovered your channel. Love your foundation reviews. We have the same skintone and your reviews help me so much. Thank you :) keep up the good work!!!

Ooooh look! A deck in the background. It looks great. As does the Yensa. I need a series on mask-proof foundations. We go back next month, and at this point I'm tempted not to do anything other than eye makeup. But I have a small retirement fund worth of foundation. So I need to figure out what will stay put and what will be a yikes foundation.
Hi Shelly! The shade match was excellent on you! Looks like a keeper! I started watching last night. I didn't remember anything after the daylight check in.....out cold!😳 Rewatched this morning😁 Take care of yourself.❤
😂 I had the opposite night - I woke up at 4am with a whole idea for a podcast and the first episode, and I couldn't fall back to sleep until I wrote it all down! 2 hours later...... then I was out cold lol.
Seems great for dry skin! like you I love foundations..now Yves Rocher has a great one, called Radieux, means radiant, and it is lovely for dry skin, I am using it a lot..although the shades tend to be on the yellow side..have a great weekend! hello from Canada
I love the Yensa primer, I got it in an Ipsy bag and have been thinking about getting the foundation since I also get a bit of a discount. Love this review!
That is so pretty! I don't normally say that I'm going to rush out and get something just because I like it, especially when it comes to higher end brands but this..I think I will be trying this very soon. It's so nice and full coverage it seems. I just bought the Mark Jacobs bronzer so I won't be getting this one. I don't do warm and the MJ one is gorgeous. It was on sale so I decided to get it. I totally get the hype now. It's amazing.
I love it when a site offers Afterpay or Klarna. It's so much nicer to be able to buy whatever I want and make payments rather than pay all at once but.....now I'm making a ton of payments each week on various sites lol. It's so easy to go overboard using it too!
I was getting so good at predicting the rating you give foundations at this stage!! I had actually thought you'd give this an a+!! But then I heard about the limited shade range and thought - oops! It looks fabulous on you Shelly. Thanks for sharing. Have you seen that The Ordinary have foundations? I'd love to see you review that.
Hi Emer! I checked out the Serum and the Coverage foundations when they first came out! Coverage came to a B-, beautiful but I couldn't get it to wear well for more than 8 hours on me - ruclips.net/video/oxAdwvrA4bI/видео.html and the Serum foundation I actually went through a whole bottle of it a couple summers ago. It was my favorite for my time in Ireland that year because it held up so well to rain and weather. It was a B at review time but I sure wore enough of it to be an A - ruclips.net/video/Tz7MLuVynvU/видео.html
@@goow I live in Ireland!! Maybe I should get it so! Wish I followed you back then - we could've met up for a pint somewhere. No hope of that happening at the minute. Where did you visit when you came here? Please don't say Dublin. When I go abroad I meet so many people that say "Oh yeah I've been to Ireland" and when I ask what part they say "Dublin". In all honesty, Dublin could be in any country. You don't get a feel for the real Ireland there at all in my opinion.
Hi Shelly! Really enjoyed this video! This foundation looks super good on you! This makes me want to try it too! 🙂 Love your videos! I was curious to ask you if you've ever tried the Bobbie Brown enriched eye base or face base? With the fall approaching, my under eyes get really dry and crepe like. Always on the hunt for a great moisturizing eye cream 🙂 have a safe and productive semester! 🎉
I have the Bobby Brown eye base and I seriously love it!!! I'm going to be 43 this year and have fine lines and issues with my under eyes and it really moisturizes and plumps that area for me 😊
I haven't tried the eye base but there are 2 Bobbi Brown products that I absolutely love - the vitamin enriched face base, and the Extra Repair Moisturizing Balm. The latter is sometimes the only thing that will heal my skin when it gets really cracked and irritated in the winter. I had a sample of it that ran out and I was hesitant to spend the full price on it. Many people recommended dupes and I tried them all, and none were dupes on my skin. I waited for a 20% off sale and bought it and I have not regretted it for a second. It's like the big guns when nothing else works. The only thing I've found that comes close is a recent find - an indie brand called Bedrock, a product called Bedrock Balm. But it leaves a bit of a white cast and doesn't sink into the skin as well as the Bobbi Brown, though its healing capabilities are on par - bedrockskin.com/products/bedrock-balm
Um... I'm gonna' need you to slow down on the discovery of great products, Shelly. My wallet is looking pitiful, and the delivery people are starting to judge me on the amount of packages they have to carry to my door! Especially during rainy season here in Florida. 😬🤣 J/K!! Love and appreciate all your hard work! Thank you for all you do! Especially while trying to deal with teaching, and everything else, in this "new normal". 💕💕
I'm not sure if my UPS driver loves or hates me 😂 I definitely keep him employed!! Such wild times we're in. Just gotta keep on keeping on! This is my happy place, so thank YOU!!!!!! I'd have no reason to be here without you!
I tried it with my fingertips the other day and it was even better! It is quite pretty. Fingertips solved that problem of the brush moving the foundation around underneath.
@@goow its just something about the tone and color range that looks so great on u...also it looks so SMOOTH....but that color brings your whole face to a whole different level of pretty
You're gonna make me splurge on this one, aren't you?!!? Ahhhh, but if they don't have my shade, I just may have to keep my money in my purse. Thanks so much AGAIN for a wonderful review!!
That'll be the challenge. Generally speaking if you can find an undertone match with the lightness/darkness a smidge off, it works better than if you find a lightness/darkness match with the wrong undertone. So on the upside, they focused on undertone variety for the greatest number of possible wearable matches for a limited shade range. It's tough though. I'd rather see more shades.
It's the Color Street nail polish strips! I don't think they make that one any more but Scot Topic is very similar (and this Color Street stylist is a fellow over-40 beauty youtuber!) www.colorstreet.com/groovynailswitholivia/product/FMG166
Shelly, What's up with CT concealer? You mention it as being line smoothing on your concealer fest list. Have you reviewed it? Do you recommend it? Reading about packaging issues on Sephora website. What's your take? You know your stuff. Thank you.
Hi Marion! I didn't start doing proper concealer reviews until well after the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away was my favorite, so I don't have a full review of it, but I'm wearing it in probably 100 videos :) It is still my absolute number 1 for its smoothing and hydration. There are 2 I've found this year that come close (and one is shockingly drugstore) - L'Oreal Age Perfect Radiant Concealer, and Pat McGrath Sublime Perfection concealer. You won't save any money looking at the PMG route but the L'Oreal is quite nice - not quite as much coverage and a tiny bit less smoothing, but still a worthy competitor. Having used both of those for several months now, the Charlotte Tilbury remains my number one favorite.
Wow!!!! So weird...my daughter and I were just talkin this evening about “Power Rangers”!!!! I wonder if the bronzer is a dupe for Tan de Chanel bronzer? Additionally I wonder if this is one Bailey has tested against that same product???!!! I had never heard of this brand. Wow...lovely! 🤗
I hadn't heard of them before either! I don't know how because I read up on Purlisse when I did the BB cream review. I totally missed the sister-brand!
I'm 100% obsessed with the yensa concealer/foundation after a girlfriend of mine gifted me a trial size of the concealer! Also, what nail polishes are you wearing?!?
Hi Shelly, I'm so intrigued by this one but the color range may be an issue. Did you find the neutral shade to be truly neutral or pink-leaning? I'm a light, cool olive and the struggle is real to find foundations that will work.
Hi Becca! I would call it a beige-neutral (some people refer to that as gray but that's so unappealing-sounding!) It's a very similar undertone to the CYO LifeProof in 101 (though CYO is just a tiny bit lighter in its lightness-to-darkness). It's a pretty rare undertone in foundations it seems to me (since I have such a hard time finding it!). A lot of neutral shades lean more yellow and I would say this does not have that same yellow component - more beige.
I am loving it! Today I wore it with no primer and tested a quick fingertip application (an out the door kind of look) and I was shocked that even with this level of coverage, it was still super fast to apply and blended fine with fingertips. It still looks good and I'm at the 11 hour mark now and wore a mask and talked in the mask a LOT for over an hour. I'm beyond thrilled with this one!
i have very dry skin and every foundation just sits on top and emphasizes all the flakes and shows how my skin lacks smooth, plumpness... what primer and foundation would you recommend? i love your channel because you're honest and down to earth
Hi Sophi! Have you tried any of the lighter coverage serum or oil types of foundations? My number 1 when I'm a flaky mess is the Kosas Tinted Face Oil. Since it is built around hydration it really helps plump the skin and mask the flakes back into hydration until they exfoliate away. The Clarins Skin Illusion is similar but a little bit less hydrating and less like a facial oil, but a little more coverage. Or the Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation, which has more coverage than both of these and still has skin-care-levels of hydration and handles my flaking very well. My ultimate favorite when I'm flaking is of course the most expensive of the bunch - the By Terry Anti Wrinkle Serum Foundation - but my skin is literally in better condition at the end of the night after wearing it than it was when I put it on. I have a hard time finding a shade match in the By Terry (I have 4 different shades and still have to mix to get it right) but it is quite lovely if you can get a sample of it to try. On the drugstore side it could be worth trying the L'Oreal Age Perfect foundation. It's hydrating as well (though not quite to the level as these others) and still does a good job minimizing the appearance of flaking skin.
If you're a CYO101 fan especially.... I tried this today with no primer and fingertip application, and it's still doggone beautiful. I wore a mask and talked a lot for most of an hour, maybe a little longer, and I'm 11 hours in wearing it now and you can't even tell I wore a mask.
Thanks, Jenn! It's a Color Street polish - I don't think they have this one any more, but Scot Topic is very similar - and this Color Street stylist is another over-40 beauty RUclipsr :) www.colorstreet.com/groovynailswitholivia/product/FMG166

@@goow I Love Michaels ! Just stocked up on some great Halloween decorations.
This looks great on you! Looks like a keeper.
Thanks, Christine! I tried it today with no primer and fingertip application and it performed just as well! I'm stoked!
Great to hear because I just ordered it from QVC....you get the brush for free!
i will def be getting it to try now.
This is a beautiful look!
OH SO PRETTY! Thank you Shelly....
Been there done that have some issues on our faces😂💯 Woah that looked great on you!
You look beautiful- amazing skin!
I love it when a site offers Afterpay or Klarna. It's so much nicer to be able to buy whatever I want and make payments rather than pay all at once but.....now I'm making a ton of payments each week on various sites lol. It's so easy to go overboard using it too!
I've almost always got something on a payment plan on Beautylish 😂
@@goow lol! I just discovered Afterpay and Klarna a few weeks ago. Now I'm paying apprx $200/week for the next 2 months. Oopsie. Lol. 😂😂
I'm going to be 43 this year and have fine lines and issues with my under eyes and it really moisturizes and plumps that area for me 😊
@@christinebaker6393 thank you so much 🤗
I haven't tried the eye base but there are 2 Bobbi Brown products that I absolutely love - the vitamin enriched face base, and the Extra Repair Moisturizing Balm.
@@goow thanks Shelly! ☺️
Um...
I'm gonna' need you to slow down on the discovery of great products, Shelly.
My wallet is looking pitiful, and the delivery people are starting to judge me on the amount of packages they have to carry to my door! Especially during rainy season here in Florida. 😬🤣
J/K!!
Oh gosh that bronzer looks so so good on u.
I'd rather see more shades.
hey , can u do honest tinted moisturizer and blush please
Welp Shelly, I think you found the one!! 💍 It looks absolutely stunning on you... the shade match and finish are just perfect! 😍👌
Got this in an ipsy bag and I absolutely love it!! I'm trying to find a drugstore "dupe" if anyone knows of please reply.
What a great review
Ooooh I’ve never seen this one before! 😍
I hadn't either!!
Wow, you look amazing! I can't buy any more foundation. I can't buy any more foundation... :P
Hi. What is the name of the nail polish ur wearing? I love that! Thanks ❤️😊
It's the Color Street nail polish strips! I don't think they make that one any more but Scot Topic is very similar (and this Color Street stylist is a fellow over-40 beauty youtuber!) www.colorstreet.com/groovynailswitholivia/product/FMG166
That looks really good
Ooooh me likey!!
Thank you for the review, I also got a sample on my Ipsy bag and love it. You are a beautiful model and it was very pleasant to watch your video.
Sure, make me add another foundation to my wish list. Yes, I totally called the grade.
Shelly, Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I will definitely try the Charlotte T concealer.
I think it is Pop-arazzi Retro Remix!
@@goow The shade is Retro Remix?
I can't find the shade tool you mentioned :-( I wonder if they changed things and it's no longer there, or if it isn't working on my phone.
It looks like now they've replaced it with graphics of a person wearing each shade.
it may not feel like it, but your skin does not look dry to me. and my skin is same as yours.
Thank you!
gorgeous sponge
@@goow Thank you! I have used the CYO in 103 which is one of the better undertones for me. Enjoy your Saturday! And, I love your new hair color!
The whole look is really pretty. How was the wear test? Are you still liking it?
@@goow Ooooh thank you sooo much ! I am definitely going to be looking into all of these. I reeeeally, really appreciate the detailed reply
Oh dang....Thanks alot !! (said with a serious eye roll and sarcasm) I don't need another one, but DANG IT!!!!!
If you're a CYO101 fan especially.... I tried this today with no primer and fingertip application, and it's still doggone beautiful. I wore a mask and talked a lot for most of an hour, maybe a little longer, and I'm 11 hours in wearing it now and you can't even tell I wore a mask.
You look beautiful!
Will this foundation be good for oily skin? for some reason spf makes my skin oily
I have a hard time knowing how products behave on oily skin because I'm so far the opposite :( so I can't say with any certainty!
Did you ever end up trying a darker shade? Just wondering how the undertone looked for a shade darker?
I haven't yet!
@@goow I got my purito and I LOVE IT!! Thank you for spotlighting it!! I then got a sample of yensa in my ipsy and it seems amazing too!!
lov the color of the bronzer, but i like a powder...hmm
Shelly you're adorable 😍 💕
still looks good to me!
healthy glow within look.
Before I forget to ask-what nail polish are you wearing? It’s beautiful! Ok-back to the video now. 😳😁
Thanks, Jenn! It's a Color Street polish - I don't think they have this one any more, but Scot Topic is very similar - and this Color Street stylist is another over-40 beauty RUclipsr :) www.colorstreet.com/groovynailswitholivia/product/FMG166
Thank you so much! Checking it out now! And I loved the foundation on you. I may have to check this one out-because I really *NEED* another foundation. 😂😂😂😂
I hope you sent the video or swatches to Taylor 😉
She's listed as the inspiration and linked in every single one of my 200+ foundation reviews, so she's welcome to come verify that! You can see it for yourself in every single description box 😉
Geek Out of Water OH My gosh!!! No! I meant bc you were comparing it to one of her favorites that’s been discontinued!!!
Holy moly, I’d never imply you didn’t credit her! I just remembered what a good shade match it was in her and then it was discontinued...now soap and glory is going away. Thought she’d like to see your review!!!
45?!?? You look great!
Thanks, Ali! Oy turned 46 a couple weeks ago! 😂
i say yes, to yensa.
How’s construction going?
They got started on the framing earlier this week (what was in this video), and then the rain came back... lol so you've seen the latest and greatest! 😂
i do not like the color of the bronzer outside in light. it's too orange for me.
It is definitely a warm-leaning bronzer. I prefer cooler tones most of the time, too.
could just be me, but i like it.
It's me, too! =D
You were late. I was concerned. 🥺
Our work meetings got switched to Fridays due to pandemic scheduling and it is ALL kinds of messing with my life!!!! But I spent the last 3 days in a virtual conference on video/RUclips stuff and I have a zillion ideas that are going to help whip things into shape around here 😂
