  • MCarbo makes a lot of different performance type upgrades. The titanium striker upgrade and trigger shoe came highly recommended by many many people in the comment section....but does it live up to the hype? You guys know that I love upgrading my Hellcat Pro so the big question is, how does the MCarbo trigger and titanium striker stack up for real?

Love that Striker. Been using it for some time after my stock one broke. I felt it was better then sending it off for warranty work and waiting a month. Might just be me, but I feel it made everything so much smoother. I'll stick to the Apex trigger for now. I also used the Apex sear spring instead of the MCarbo. It made sense the way you can drop some oil in it. Nice helpful video.

I think actually you were one of the people who had mentioned I should test the MCarbo stuff early on. I had mentioned the spring oil during filming but that section of the video got cut during the edit. I wish more companies used a similar design. Im going to be ordering a second titanium striker at the end of the month because I really do feel like its a solid upgrade for the Hellcat Pro

I’m sure Apex would have been the better option, but I just ordered the Mcarbo because price and it seems to have a decent amount of good reviews. I’m sure it will be miles more comfortable that the POS it has now. Would have given Tyrant a shot but I haven’t seen a whole about those.

I have the original hellcat with an apex trigger, and prp safety plunger spring. My HC pro had the prp base spring kit and mcarbo trigger. I didn’t like the trigger at all. It pinched my finger, and when the trigger kits the overtravel stop it actually pushes out the trigger safety to the point where it sits above the face of the trigger. It was very uncomfortable. I ended up just putting another apex trigger in my HC pro, with prp safety plunger spring, and prp disconnector spring. Very happy with the apex. For me anyways the mcarbo was a swing and a miss. The apex was far more comfortable. As for the striker goes if you like the hard wall feeling the striker makes a huge difference. Me personally I prefer a little roll on the break. I’ve got about 2500 rounds through the OEM striker without issue. For those that are curious the HC pro does have a higher pull weight if we are comparing same trigger system in the HC. Same vs same I am showing a 3/4 lb more out of the HC pro. My HC pro as it’s setup now breaks right at 5.5 lbs, my HC breaks at 5 lbs with the only difference is the prp disconnector spring which was worth about 3-4 ounces or so. If you decide to run the mcarbo striker it drops it another 1 lb fyi.

I had just the MCarbo trigger and springs in it for the longest time because I was too cheap too buy the whole kit and it was nice but then I ended up getting the striker used off a guy on Reddit by chance. @@salsavillo9146 I kind of ended up with a mix and match set up in my Pro, for now at least. I did install the PRP kit with and without the disconnector. I ultimately ended up with the PRP sear, lighter with springs and the MCARBO flat trigger. The “rolling” trigger is not for me. I thought it was too strange to lessen the felt wall when it comes to a handgun trigger. I could kind of see people who shoot a lot of double action semis and revolvers liking the “rolling” trigger, but that’s not even close to what I am. The PRP sear and springs did mildly improve the action and lower the pull weight. I do wish the geometry of the new sear would have eliminated a little more of the creep, but it is what it is. Obviously, I really wish I could have just purchased the sear and springs, without the disconnect and their hybrid trigger shoe. I don’t know if they would sell it to me that way, but I would have asked. Nothing wrong with their trigger shoe, but I just prefer the flatter MCARBO shoe.

The state did ban “assault weapon” parts and in that there is a specific part about triggers and other parts to build assault weapons. This, of course doesn’t apply to pistol triggers like the one you are looking to get and is more likely the company being overly cautious because of tricky wording in the law. Apex Type3 is the top level for function, reliability and safety.
