C’ Mon man… I have never acknowledged this gun and in recent years, I have ignored most similar sized offerings. Now I find myself looking up hellcat pro pricing at many of my go to online retailers. Thanks for that.. I did get a Floyd’s mag well for Glock 19 and it is great. Much more solid/stable than, the SLR magwell l have on G 45 frame. The Floyd’s mag extension for echelon is also top-notch.

I know what you mean with the slide release. I shoot Glocks and found myself riding the slide release. The solution was a Bullet Forward slide release from Ghost. It places it forward just enough my thumb doesn’t hit it. I began using the 1911 technique of releasing the slide with my left thumb after I insert the mag. Works great, so glad I found it. It’s on all my guns now. Great video sir. It looks damp and cold.
Ya the slide not locking back doesn’t really bother me but people ask all the time why it’s not locking in the videos. I spend so much tile training with this gun that if I empty a mag and it doesn’t lock back I’ll rack it fast enough to not be an issue. Moral of the story is train with what you have and know your individual weapons response to how you handle it. Also…fucking wet and damp and miserable lol. Supposed to be sunny and 65° while I’m out filming for a CZ video so that’s a plus
Love your set up. I’m in California so I’m limited. But the Magwell looks like a must have
Magwell requires Floyd’s mag bases but they will have CA mag bases listed on their site in the next couple weeks. I’d honestly rather shoot this gun than almost all my others

@@elijahray9792I don’t generally do much of that style of content on here because things change so frequently. By time I can film and release a video the rule will probably change or something new comes up. I do need to dive into their newly proposed transfer rule though. I believe it won’t affect me here in WA though. Private transfers already have to go through an FFL here
Just bought my Hellcat Pro today, thing is absolutely beautiful, no tooling marks, all surfaces are polished and shined, just very pretty, It is VERY tight though mag won't insert without considerable effort for when topped up plus one in the chamber and racking the slide over a full mag isn't easy either, plus it's the heaviest non revolver trigger I've ever felt but I'm sure it'll all ease up with a good break in period.

Congrats. It’s an awesome gun. The trigger will wear in a little bit. Still I would recommend changing to an Apex trigger. Save money and use that promo code lol. The mags though they have way more power than they need. The 15 round mags I had to put 14 in them when they were new because the springs are so strong. Thats a good thing though, means they will last a long time. I would just load them up to 14 +1 in the chamber till they break in. Its going to take a while but it will get there

Im headed out in the morning to collect more data. Tomorrow is recoil testing with the Mantis system. I did some velocity testing but the numbers were all over the place. Best I can tell there was an issue with the chronograph. So that data needs collected again and gone through
You could swap the aftermarket slide lock with oem one...although harder to release the slide
I could. It’s a non issue really. People just comment all the time asking if there’s something wrong with it so I point it out occasionally. Also I’m not 100% sure where the OEM one is. I know it’s in my office I’m just not sure where exactly lol
Did you have to use the magazine floor plate when you installed the new magazine base plates? Or does it work without them? Thanks!
No floor plates, just the follower and spring. Theres no real need for the floor plate with the Floyd’s bases 👍🏻
Dude if you keep making all these cool mods to your HC pro, Im gonna go bankrupt. Just ordered my TLR7 sub and a holster. Now I guess I have to get a magwell when I send mine in for porting. STOP already! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I just got a Hellcat pro, and the recoil is kind of out of control, Would porting the gun help with that issue?
Well recoil has a lot that goes into it. We could be talking about some deficiencies in your grip or stance. It could be just a perception, maybe you are used to a full size gun and haven’t shot something the size of the HCP. A lot goes into it. I can say this much, a good grip helps. That could be something like better grip technique, better grip texture like a hogue grip or the talon pro grips, the magwell also helps with grip and leverage. Your question though, yes the porting makes a dramatic difference. Take a look at my Hellcat Pro playlist. I have a video comparing stock version to ported and comped HCP. Honestly this is my favorite gun to shoot
@@360TacticalSolutions Ya, im fairly new to shooting pistols, Ill keep shooting it and see how it goes. It could be improper grip but ive been working on that. Im loving the pistol but i could not shoot it with iron sights, Had to get the holosun.
@@tuster4898grip is like 90% of recoil management. Once you get that down a lot changes as far as how you can control the gun. Definitely take a look at the talon grips or maybe the hogue grip. $25 and they both make a big difference
Researched that it may leave some marring on the frame, but I feel like once you put it on why would you ever take it off? I'm still thinking about it, but man it's beautiful.
For sure it’s going to leave some bite marks on the frame but trust me once you add the magwell you arent taking it off lol. It really just completes the gun
can you do a comparison on the floyd’s +2 mag vs the one from springfield? i got the one from springfield when i bought the pro but i’m wondering if the floyds is shorter, it definitely looks like it
The difference in length is too small to measure. I have one but I threw out the plastic extension from Springfield and put on a Floyds extension. The aluminum is so much better
Ive already spent the money on springer precision and tyrant mag extensions. Now i need to buy the floyds extensions just to be able to use the magwell🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻

Any issues with having your Floyd’s ported slide sent from Washington. I’m really contemplating the ports for my hellcat pro but idk if living in Washington would cause any problems
No not at all. Threaded barrels and comps would be an issue but we didn’t lose the ability to do porting. Honestly porting the Hellcat Pro and then adding the magwell was such an improvement. I couldn’t go back to stock after shooting it this way
Dumb question .. if i put the plus 5 on a 17 rd mag will it fit 22?
Definitely not a dumb question. The answer is no though. The 17rd mag is just a 15rd mag with a 17rd mark and hole on the body, a slightly longer spring and a +2 mag extension. So when you add the +5 you still get a 20rd mag.
Because of the extra coil on the mag spring you don’t want to put a mag base on the 17rd mag other than the +5. I tried to put one of the ones that doesn’t add capacity but then the mag was really hard to load and I think I hardly got a full 15 in it because the spring tension was so hard. I swapped it over to the +5 and it’s been super smooth. A another side note those factory extensions on the 17rd mag aren’t compatible with the magwell. They are just too thick in all the wrong places so they won’t quite seat enough to lock into place

Do you have any recommendations for IWB holster that fit with the gas pedal on the hellcat pro?
Im using a McKinatec Talon holster with the option for the Tactical Development Pro Ledge. Thats my daily carry set up

@@Stussy2314 sometimes I use it with the threaded barrel and strike industries quad comp. Different comps may fit or may not but it seems to have enough clearance.

I’m not sure what items you are looking for but I just ordered a barrel for a CZ, two Holosun optics and a flashlight the other day. Everything on my list was in stock. It’s actually fairly rare that I even see something out of stock

“Too much busy going on”? I dont even know what you are saying there. I will say though, mag extensions arent for everyone. If you havent tried a magwell you should at least get your hands on it and see what it’s all about…regardless of how much busy there is going on in the grip or whatever lol. You just might like it
@@360TacticalSolutions Its the texture and different physical dimensions when gripping the firearm. I prefer my grip to be uniform, just extended. Those extensions are just awkward.

No, slide just didnt lock back. I think im going to go back to the stock slide lock and see if it helps. My grip position has been making it tough on the whole last round slide lock thing. Probably 99% of the time my thumb is giving just enough pressure to stop it from locking open…unless I really focus on my thumb position
@@360TacticalSolutions I'm an idiot for pausing and not continuing to watch, you literally explained it after lol. I had the same issues with my Glock 17 and xd9, i started smashing my support hand palm to the frame where the slide and grip goes and gripping my thumb over my support and eliminated that issue.
@@TriggerTalesTV haha no worries. I tend to stick with a high grip for recoil control and it happens pretty often on all my guns. Just something I’ve learned to live with

I just got home from filming some content with a CZ P10C…same thing. Maybe one mag out of 500+ rounds actually had the slide lock open. It is what it is though. I just train around it…drop a mag, insert a fresh one and rack that slide

Which extension did you use for the 17rd msg?
Im not sure what you are asking. I have two mags that started as 15rd mags. One of them has a +2 extension and the other has a +5. Hope that helps

@@Yohnie ok I see. Well mine came with two 15rd mags. I got it well before the new 17’s came out. I do have a 17 though and I put the +5 on it. Funny thing about the factory 17rd mag is that it’s the same mag body as a 15 it just has the extension and a stronger spring. The Floyd’s +2 is a lower profile internally than the Springfield mag extension so that extra weighted spring won’t work with the +2 from Floyd’s, you have to use a +5 which makes it a 20rd mag. There’s not enough room for the extra coils inside the +2. Hope that helps

I did. I took 3 months off from making content and focused on getting my health on track as well as various other things like work. I’m down right about 30 pounds since the first of the year

@@howitzerlance3529I honestly didn’t think anyone would notice. For me, I see myself every day so I dont see a major difference. But ya I feel really good, healthy and a lot more energy. Im pushing for another 10-15 pounds before I feel like I can level off and just maintain but at 43 years old it’s a nightmare trying to lose weight.
