Who knew Seth Rogan made YT videos lol
I was thinking grandpa from UP
yo, appreciate it. Picked up a brand a new Hellcat Pro and took it to the range the next day. Recoil isn't my concern whatsoever, only thing that was an issue was the trigger. It was way too heavy and stiff and in result made me pull on my shots making me inaccurate. I had a Glock 17 same day at the range and did a side by side, Glock definitely had the better factory trigger. Internet says Glock is a 5.5 LB trigger pull, while the HC Pro is 7.5 LB's. Hopefully this Apex Type 3 will be a game changer.
Apex is definitely an improvement and the best part is it remains as safe as factory
Thanks for the review. I'm a new Hellcat Pro owner with only about 100 rounds through it so far. The default trigger really doesn't bother me. Yes, there's a lot of takeup before hitting the wall, but once there it's a crisp break and reset. Decisions, decisions...
I wish the Apex trigger took some more of that take up out. It's a great gun though.
Can't you adjust the trigger to break at a lighter weight?
@@mongop177 that would require different springs to make that adjustment.
Dude I was just watching your old Mcarbo and Apex videos trying to decide on which one to get. Perfect timing!
Lol glad to hear it. Don’t forget to use the link and promo code down below. That new Type3 Apex is great. I’m going to put it in my other Hellcat Pro as well real soon
Done. Now I just need to save up for the striker kit and Floyd's machining. I've made the hellcat pro my edc as well as my owb shtf gun. Aside from a TLR7sub and red dot, it's all stock with over 1k rounds through it so I look forward to feeling how each mod changes the feel of it.
Thanks for the review. Just got a Hcat pro. Will be ordering this trigger.
You will love it. Make sure to use that promo code and save some money
New Hellcat Pro owner here, thanks for the great review and discount! Type 3 trigger on its way to me!
Good choice!
Just installed one in my Pro a few days ago. Its a great upgrade and looks awesome.
Definitely better for me than the stock trigger
Thank you! I just ordered mine! Got type 3. Thanks for explaining the difference.
Glad I could help!
What are your thoughts on Overwatch Precision's trigger kit? It'll either be between Apex type 3 or OP's trigger kit if I decide to swap triggers.
Overwatch makes a good product. I like the look of them. No real complaints on function or reliability. I ran one for a month. Both of my HCP have Type3 Apex triggers in them right now. While I thought the OP trigger was pretty good it wasnt that much different from the Apex. I asked the company about testing procedures because I like to vet products like this before committing to them for carry use. I got a generic response that really held no information. On the flip side, Apex has been doing this 20+ years and from what I can tell no one safety tests their products like Apex does. Thats why I stick with the Apex
Thanks for the review. It looks like the Type 3 has less surface area for the finger to rest on versus the Classic. Did you notice slightly higher pressure on the finger pad using the Type 3?
Just the opposite…it feels way more comfortable. I actually just swapped the Apex classic trigger in my other HCP over to the Type3 because it feels that much better on the finger. I think it has to do with its rounded edges. Just feels more natural
@@360TacticalSolutions Type3 it is then, thanks. I downloaded the hi-res pictures from Apex website, it seems they both have the same contact area, just the difference in how it rolls off the edges.
I don’t know man, I have a Hellcat and 2 Hellcat Pro’s and all 3 stock triggers feel pretty grand. Maybe I’m lucky but I like them and won’t replace them.
It’s all personal preference. I will say there were enough complaints about how the trigger feels on the finger that they revised the trigger shoe for the new Echelon. Also for me…I like a lighter trigger pull than what the factory spring set offers. At the end of the day though its all about what the owner of the gun likes
@@360TacticalSolutions -Yeah I like a light pull weight and although I don’t have a pull gauge, they don’t feel bad. As far as the shoe, I did get a bit of a pinch for a bit but even that is gone or I got used to it. Anyway glad to see you have Hellcats 👍🏻
The Hellcat has many very good qualities for it's (small) size. However I am really not a fan of the stock trigger. With all the seemingly good choices for a trigger upgrade today, I appreciate your detailed review of the Apex Type 3. In fact I just ordered one yesterday from Apex (and Apex honored your discount code.) Thanks for making a tough choice a little easier.
Glad to hear it. Its an easy enough install but I would definitely reccomend checking out the install video they have on their site
You are right !!!! I just installed mine and by the time you read this, you probably did, too. It, to me, made it an entirely different pistol !!!! That's what it was missing. This trigger !!!! 🙂
@@TheAmerican1963 true story. The Talon Pro grips are also another must have in my opinion
Thnk you, I've decided to upgrade my M&P M2.0 and wanted to know the diference between the classic and type 3.
Excellent. Glad to help. Yes the difference with the M&P trigger is exactly the same difference with the HCP Type3 vs Classic. Performance is the same, it’s just the look. Make sure and save some money and use 360TS at checkout
What’s trigger do you use on the hellcat pro you edc I wanna upgrade my trigger because of the blister problem it gets uncomfortable shooting the pro at the range
100% if you are using the stock trigger…use my link and promo code and order the Type3. I’m going to be swapping my classic for the Type3 for my daily carry while I order and wait for another Type3. I think it’s the better option if going from stock. For someone who already has the classic I’d be hard pressed to justify the purchase unless they liked the look better because the physical feel isn’t a drastic difference between type3 and classic
Thanks for the video- I have the Apex designated for the Hellcat Pro (Type 2..??) based off your review and love it over the stock trigger, and is good enough for me!
Definitely a great upgrade for the Hellcat Pro
Opinion on Tyrant I.T.T.S trigger if you have tried it? or your opinion on Tyrant as a whole ? I’m stuck between them and Apex
Sure thing, first off I’m an affiliate for both companies but I have Apex triggers on both my HCP if that’s an indicator of where I stand. The Tyrant package just comes with a new trigger shoe. The geometry of the trigger and its safety are kind of weird. The safety blade is sort of sharp and to me it feels like it’s too easy to pull past the safety. Almost to a point that it seems like there isn’t one if more for the feeling of the sharp edges of the safety blade. The thing this trigger gets its claim to fame for is its forceful reset. It doesn’t make the take up shorter or smoother, it doesn’t change the pull weight. It’s just a different look and a forced reset. I didn’t like it. Tyrant is a fairly new company compared to Apex who’s been doing triggers more than 20 years. The design of the trigger safety had me really questioning how safe the trigger is and I ended up going back to my Apex because this is a carry gun and as cool as the Tyrant looks…I have to have 100% faith in an aftermarket trigger if I’m going to carry with it. If this were just a range gun I’d probably leave the Tyrant and keep pounding rounds through it on the weekend but after nearly 1000 rounds I removed it and went back to the Apex Type3
@@360TacticalSolutions Thanks for your thoughts. The Tyrant does look extremely appealing but what you said about have 100% faith in a trigger for your carry gun won me over for the Apex. Thanks again for your response
@@FilthyFirearms glad to help. And don’t forget to save yourself some money by using my promo 360TS at Apex, Optics Planet, Kore essentials and Floyd’s Custom Shop. I just did a video for the Floyd’s magwell and mag extensions and they are incredible
@@360TacticalSolutions If you were on a budget , in what order would you do your upgrades ? (for edc) Say you already have a holster, belt, and talon grips. The time gap between each upgrade would be a month. My first instinct would be 1)Apex Trigger 2)DPM 3)Optic 4)Light 5)Port. But I’m curious on what route you would take.
@@FilthyFirearms I’d do it in that order except throw out the DPM spring all together. You only slightly change the recoil impulse and the cost to benefit ratio doesn’t make sense, especially when you are on a budget. Apex, Optic then light.
New to guns and still alittle confused. I have a hell cat pro and the pull seems excessive. If i were to get a new trigger does this apex trigger have a lighter pull? My buddy says his is about 5 pounds and mine feels way heavier. Or could i adjust the pull? When i shoot it i feel like half way through the tigger pull it should have shot already.
What you are experiencing isnt the trigger pull weight, you are describing pull length which cant be adjusted without compromising the guns safety. There are triggers that say they reduce travel or pull length or whatever and ive tested them…you wouldnt catch me dead using any of those options with a gun in the appendix position lol.
When you pull the trigger and you hit that spot where it gets firm, it’s called the “wall”. Pull weight is how many pounds of force does it take to pull through that wall. A stock HCP runs on average 6.5 or 7 pounds for a trigger pull. With the Apex trigger I get somewhere around 5 to 5.5 pounds. The pull weight depends on a lot of things like how broke in the gun is. Over time it lightens up, by time I mean high round count lol. You definitely dont want a carry gun too light a trigger for safety reason.
Yours being heavier is probably because it’s new, and I would also say to buy a trigger pull gauge to really get an idea of its weight. Sometimes our minds play tricks on us when comparing to someone else’s gun, at least if you use a gauge you have data for the comparison.
I love your grip on your hellcat, what is that ?
Thats a Talon Pro Grip. Here’s a link to a video with more information

I want to see the type 3 take up and reset
It's exactly the same as the Classic Apex for the HCP. Any video of that trigger will be the same as the Type3. This videos is more an explanation of the difference between the models
Almost threw my Hellcat Pro in the trash … hate the stock trigger … HATE IT !!!
Ordered the Apex 3, today, based on your recommendation … we shall see
It’s a definite improvement over the stock trigger. I often wonder why companies don’t just improve their trigger design during development and make that a selling point.
@@360TacticalSolutions
Agreed … had to buy an Apex 3 trigger . Hope that works .
Stock trigger is way too long a pull and has a sticking point . By the time you hit the wall, the gun goes off . Really annoying and unpredictable .
The letoff on the reset is really frustrating, as well .
I had to take a black Sharpie to that white horseshoe nonsense on the rear sight . Hope these mods do the trick 😎
Sooooooooo how is it
@@jacobdoolan4978
Honestly …
Shot it yesterday … probably gonna sell it . Trigger was great but … kicks like a mule … not a fan. Personally, I prefer the Glock 43x out of the box .
Could not get decent groups to save my life. All boils down to personal preference … I’m not a Springfield fan as compared to my other choices
Ordering one this weekend glad I waited. Did you ever try the apex extend slide lever or still only running the lake line?
I'll be adding that one next month at some point. Right now im rolling into some M&P content with the Metal M&P Competitor. Been sitting on it for a while and I need to get my thoughts out there before they become irrelevant lol. I do have some big HCP stuff coming though...im definitely not done with this one
@@360TacticalSolutionsawesome! I think I may grab the apex lever
@@lexmak87 Im going to go out on a limb and say you will love it
@@360TacticalSolutions you think you will prefer it over the lakeline version?
Random questions. I saw that you installed the m.carbo and the apex for the hellcat pro. Which one do you preferred?
I currently have Apex triggers in both my HCP. I threw away the MCarbo trigger. Their trigger was inconsistent and at times it would act weird to a point that I didnt feel comfortable using it on a carry gun.
@360TacticalSolutions greatly appreciate the answer 🙏🏻
@@fymz89 I’m happy to help. If you do decide on apex, I highly recommend the Type3. The feel on the finger is better to me than the classic. Also save yourself some money with that 360TS promo code
@@360TacticalSolutions I greatly appreciate it.
Should you do this in a Self Defense gun? If you have to use it in SD, won't they use that upgraded trigger against you in court?
I don’t know why people still believe this. How exactly would they use it against you? This is a genuine question. If you used your gun in a justifiable self-defense situation, how would somebody use an aftermarket trigger against you in a court case? Even better, can you find an instance of this actually happening? Like a real court case not so and so said that his brothers cousins uncle had that happen.
There are firearm attorneys in every state because every state has different laws. If you aren’t sure about your states Lars you shouldn’t ask anyone on the internet…you should pay for a consultation with an attorney who actually knows your local laws.
I haven’t found a single case in the country like you are pointing out. I have found instances where someone had items like Punisher grips and a prosecutor tried to label the guy as a vigilante because of the grips. That case ended up being decided justifiable self defense. As it turns out the type of grips on your gun have no bearing as to whether or not, you are protecting your own life in a legal way.
Used that promo code to get my type 3 thanks man! Can't wait for it to arrive.. found out their office is like 3 miles from where I used to live hah!
Ah thanks for using my discount code. I plan on going down to AZ and touring the Apex facility but life has been a bit busy. Maybe next year
Don't go in the summer! Anytime between late Nov and April you're good! Wish I ordered this the day I picked up the Hellcat Pro.. like ya said use the rounds to break in the new trigger! :) @@360TacticalSolutions
Forgot to ask, thoughts on the chrome extension set? @@360TacticalSolutions
@@Christopher-pe6zj haha I lived in Mesa for like 3 years. It would take something real special to get me to step foot down there in the summer ever again. Not only does my body hate that heat but as a content creator…cameras wont run in that summer heat for more than a few minutes.
are the mcarbo springs/striker reliable though? At that big of a change I'd question the safety/reliability
It’s actually not a huge change. It’s a slightly lighter spring and aside from the striker being titanium so it’s more durable…there is some slight change in the geometry. I have found it plenty reliable. Reliable enough I use it in my daily carry gun
@@360TacticalSolutions Thanks man 🙏 So apex or macro?? That's the question...
@@jonah8133 for trigger/spring package...100% Apex. If you buy one make sure you use the discount in the description. Can't go wrong there
@@360TacticalSolutions I'm leaning apex because they are always so dang reliable. Thanks man, hugely appreciate your content on the hellcat pro 🙏
Please try out the GoGun USA gas pedal for the Hellcat Pro. Thanks for the awesome content!
I just looked it up. Pretty bold claim that it will fit in most holsters. Looks like a solid product but im 100% sure none of my holsters would fit it without being modified. Are you wanting to buy one but looking for an opinion first or do you have one and just wanting to spread the word?
@@360TacticalSolutionsI got one and the modification of the holster it’s not that hard. Got a Tier 1 and with some heat I was able to make it fit. You should give it a try.
@@ronaldperezmedina I actually worked with Kydex making holsters before I started this channel. It’s not too hard to modify a holster but also there’s a risk involved as far as losing the shape that gives you your retention ability. I did reach out to GoGun and had one delivered within days of your comment. Just trying to get a feel for it and decide if I’m really seeing any difference while using it
Im going to order this trigger using your code ,great price. Man I guess im going to also order that mcarbo kit as well, or does just the trigger help out . Thankyou for your great videos
Both are helpful. The Apex trigger will only slightly lighten the trigger pull but the comfort of the trigger to the finger is worth its weight in gold. The MCarbo titanium striker is great. You will never have to worry about breaking it. The striker and spring will definitely reduce trigger pull and make for a smoother overall pull. I love the combination of the Apex Type3 with that MCarbo striker is the way I like to carry the HCP. Its a bit of a purchase so if you gotta break it into two purchases, start with the trigger then the striker.
@@360TacticalSolutions ok,great thankyou for your help I was watching your videos on this
Yea they don't look to bad to change out,saw some how to videos from both companies, gonna go ahead and get them both, thanks again I appreciate your help.
@@scottgaskin8574 definitely check in and let me know what you think. I love to hear the feedback. Any other questions, feel free and ask.
I was wondering can I use apex trigger with the mcarbo trigger spring set?
I’m not sure why you would want to. I found better results from using the Apex parts vs trying to mix and match. The other thing is the Apex trigger was designed for use with the Apex spring. Its safety rating is based on usage with the Apex spring.
I wanted to get my trigger pull around 4lbs, because apex springs only brought it down to about 5lbs.
Would you say your preference is the Type 3 with the MCARBO spring kit?
Type3 and the spring it comes with but with the M Carbo titanium striker/striker spring
Just to clarify, you're recommending using the apex sear spring (not the apex striker spring) and using the M Carbo striker and striker spring? I ask because I'm ordering the Apex (thanks to you) and have the M Carbo striker upgrade. Thanks @@360TacticalSolutions
@@Infinite.phases yes exactly. The MCarbo titanium striker comes set up with a spring and is a drop in unit. I used that and then from the apex kit I used the Apex parts for everything except the striker
@@360TacticalSolutions thanks brother. I’ll be making some videos soon but thanks to you I don’t have to make a bunch because you pretty much covered them all. 🫡
@@Infinite.phases I’ll keep an eye out for them
Where can we purchase that sweet black multicam 360TS hat?
Haha I had a few made for promo use. I wasn’t happy with the sizing. I feel like they are on the smaller size. They are one fit hats but sized S/M…they feel more like a small than a medium. Then the L/XL feels like an XL. Right now I’m looking for something more consistent in the sizing before I do a large order and post some details. It may be better to go with snap backs just so I’m not sitting on piles of sizes of hats
I got ya. Yea I’d go with snap backs. That’s my preferred anyways. That black multicam is solid. Hope to see them for sale soon 👍
