  • Hi all. A little follow up to my video about the Tamiya Lancia Delta Integrale XV-01 which is now brushless. Was it a good idea and is it better? Well yes and yes! To be honest I would normally expect a slightly bigger increase in speed with a brushless set but it's quick enough and the main thing is that it didn't lose too much speed on grass. This is the Absima Thrust BL ECO set running with a 2s lipo battery. As ever thanks everso much for watching. If you press like and leave a comment it will help the channel enormously and bring you good luck :-)

    That was a significant upgrade and well worth it for sure! Looks so much more fun to drive now with the ability to just punch the throttle and break the tires free! I could hear those poor tires screaming for mercy on the pavement!

      Hiya Addam. Yeah I think I'll stick mainly to the grass to save the tyres from going bald too quickly. It does definitely benefit from this extra power and is more fun. Many thanks for watching my friend 😁

    Very professional video Pete. I'm impressed. You should change your name to "Pete Wylie's Fifth Gear". The XV looks good with the Absima set up. I didn't know there's an upgraded belt for this chassis though. If you have one it's one of those things that's a must for the spares box, and something I must get round to buying. Enjoy your Sunday mate 🙂👍🏼

      Hi there. Oh yeah it's a little pocket rocket now. Not a super high top speed as you might have seen on the review video but it keeps most of that speed off road which is great. I may downgrade it if I start to have problems with the drivetrain. Many thanks for watching and your great feedback 😁

    Hi mate, definitely the way to go with the XV-01! As you said, it's OK with the stock motor but this chassis is so good that it deserves a little more power. If I can find the funds, I'd like to upgrade mine this year, if I can get mine to do 22ish mph it'll be fast enough for me! Great video, well explained and some cool shots of the Lancia Delta in motion, what's not to like?!?!?! All the best mate, hope all is OK with you. 😊👏👍

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  2 года назад +1

      Hiya matey. Yeah it does benefit from the extra power for sure. Maybe if you tried a 15 turn brushed motor it will get enough extra power and only cost you a tenner. I did do that in my TA-01 and it's pretty decent. I think it did get over 20mph with that in. Not as peppy as the brushless mind. Anyway had a good RC session today and got a bit of footage. Hope your weekend has been good. Very best wishes mate 😁

    I think my favorite thing about this is how its red and not in a livery. Looks good and I guess it is more fun now it is more nippy. Do you think you will get the XV-02 to see how it differs? Nice video as ever 👍

      Hi there. Yeah I did want a shell that was just like the road version and I'm going to do another one in the rally colours eventually. I probably won't get the XV-02 as I'm happy with this and also got a TT-02 rally and a TA-01 so pretty sorted for rally cars. Many thanks for watching. Much appreciated 🙂

    Awesome upgrade, if I upgrade one of my models, say tt-o2, to brushless, besides bearings, is there anything I should look out for in terms of wear? Thanks

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  2 года назад +1

      Hi there. Most of the cars are ok with brushless although the TT-02 has got slightly flimsy plastic bevel gears on the ends of the drive shaft. The upgraded metal ones are really expensive so maybe just go easy on it and get spare plastic ones if you need to. Also the alu pinions you get with Tamiya kits wear fairly easily if you drive them often so steel ones are better. Probably just put the brushless set in and see how you go. Many thanks for watching the video 😁

    Hey! What would you recommend for radio transmitter, servo, esc, receiver, battery and charger for the xv-01? (Budget focus) thanks in advance

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  8 месяцев назад

      Hi there. Well with the radio gear I think any 2.4ghz system would be fine. I'm using the Flysky GT2 just because I've had it for years. I also use the Dumbo RC one on other cars and it's good. For the servo you need quite a low profile one for the XV-01 and the SPT 4412LV-210 will fit. My brushless set is the Absima Thrust bl eco 3421kv. For a brushed setup the motor it comes with and a Hobbywing 1060 is good. Hope you enjoy the kit 😁

    Trouble is as soon as you go brushless the scale speed looks ridiculous and the car loses any sense of realism definitely not the way to go with a scale body. Everybody gets carried away with faster faster but loses track of the car looking something out of a speeded up cartoon.

    • @PeteWylieRC
      @PeteWylieRC  7 месяцев назад

      I hear what you're saying but it's a matter of opinion. Yes it might look more realistic on a video if it just has the brushed motor but it's a load more fun brushless. Also with the brushless set it's far easier to throw the back out in a corner. I can always dial down the throttle if I want to race at more realistic speeds. Many thanks for your feedback 👍👍
