Plug in a PlayStation 4 or 5 Controller via USB on PC and controller is absolutely supported in Navigation Menu or just use X-input Controller with its own key maps - however even over ethernet resolution/fidelity is way down compared to playing native PS5 connected - have tried running side by side on super ultra-widescreen Samsung Odessey G9 and difference is Night and Day especially on Spiderman - and Sony really need to bring streaming to Android to truly compete with XBox Game Pass

Very interesting. Buying a gaming laptop just to feel that you are lagging behind the demanding specs is really frustrating. Now this is something to seriously consider.
Spider-Man was unplayable for me without a PS4 controller once you finish the tutorial and need to hit the trackpad to level up. No way to remap the trackpad button in options :/
That DS4 emulator software will enable you to use trackpad features in PS Plus by holding down the "view button" and then clicking in the right analog stick (or flicking it sideways).
So mentioning ps5 games in the description and title of the video is somewhat of a clickbait. At best you can play ps4 versions of games that also got released on ps5 even if they were released for both platforms at the same time.
I tried running this but the lag was really bad even on my 500Mbit/s down wired connection. Emulation is the way to go for PS3 games and for PS4/PS5 games you'll have to run them natively to get a good enough experience for me
So let me get this straight- I can pay $22 for a month, not purchase a ps5 for $800, and stream all these games to my PC? That's awesome, gonna get ps plus premium today.
Ill do the same as soon as its available in my country :), have controller, 17€ (premium) from the look of things, when it will be finally available and i can play great games, whats not to love, but ... wonder when will it be here where i live (available but only for PS5, so yeah, i guess ill wait a while, but hope not)

Keep saving for PS5 while playing games through parsec. Smash bros ultimate is always guaranteed to be played on parsec.

I wanted to know how the input latency is? I did notice some in this video. Seems like a decent option, but it is hard for me to get into any kind of game if input latency is to high. Part of what makes a game fun is the responsiveness; which is why traditional local access to games (non-streaming) will always be my favored way to play.

@@yannickingermany 100mpbs is okay speed but if your streaming games, you might have a better experience with something higher. Also your 950 might struggle with most new games.
would be interested in a deep dive into the controller options, which perform better, do you need that PS dongle for better response or is the lag of each controller the same no matter how it is connected or what type of controller is connected.
In general at least on PC side can't answer to the Playstation app Xbox controllers generally work better with PC than others because Xbox controllers use Xinput which Windows can recognize and understand whereas Sony and Switch controllers use D-input(I think switch does anyway) which Windows isn't able to read on its own. Those dongles make windows able to understand it allowing you to use them wirelessly. I imagine specifically for this Playstation app a Sony controller with an adapter would be the best but for general use and other apps I would go Xbox no adapter needed although using an adapter will slightly reduce input lag. Edit: Sorry missed one of your questions. For controller connections Bluetooth is usually the slowest(ie most input lag) but many controllers can connect this way(This method will work for the Xbox controller and doesn't require an adapter its how he did it in the video) Then the next faster way is using a dongle.(which transmits in 2.4ghz except those Xbox specific dongles more on them later) This method has less input lag than Bluetooth and is what will allow you to use Sony controllers wirelessly. Finally the method with the least input lag(though it's not really noticeable these days imo) is plugging the controller in directly. As for what I was saying earlier about the Xbox controller Microsoft makes a dongle specifically for their controller that uses some proprietary technology that's faster than the normal dongle method and allows for multiple controllers to be connected simultaneously...most dongles I know of don't let you connect multiple controllers to it.
I've used PS Now on my computer a little while back and my ps4 controller fully worked either wired or wireless at the time, which I find it odd. Why does it only work with USB on the PS Plus unless you have a adapter?
It has always worked wirelessly without adapter. But you can't use the track pad on the PS4 controller. So in games Wich has pause or map on the track pad. You have to be wired or use the adapter to be bale to use the trackpad. But on ps 1-3 games you can do wireless without adapter and all buttons work there. I find it really stupid that they made ps now on PC and then the PS4 controller don't work for ps4 -5 games. It should honestly work with any controller, specially with Sonys controllers..
But i used a program called ds4windows to get the PS4 controller to work wireless. Maybe that's why I couldn't use the trackpad. How did you connect your PS4 controller? Just via bluetooth? No extra steps or programs?
Could be it if that was an older controller. You can hold the share and PS button to pair via Bluetooth, I know that for sure. If that's not the case, I was also using reWASD to make my pc to see my DualSense as a DS4 which may cause the app to think it's connected with adapter or USB. Either way I was able to use the touch pad on Bloodborne since I can't access some menus without it.
I wanna say I'm extremally sorry for any confusion I made. I just got myself a DS4 controller to replace the one I don't have anymore just to confirm and turned out it was the program I was using called reWASD, as I mentioned earlier, did made PS Plus think it was wired connection. It is super easy to use and 7 days free trial to try before paying $7 for lifetime. So again I'm so very sorry for the confusion I caused.
What is the resolution like? Can I set it manually? Does it keep a constant 1080p or is it a variable res situation? Can I go beyond 1080p? Thanx for the video!
It's streaming so I don't think it's good to raise the resolution. The higher the resolution, the more internet you use. If would suggest using lossless scaling application that way you don't kill so much data.
@@100Bucks Ok.....if I have the data, I should able to use it, it's 2022 give me a higher resolution please. Or at least ensure 1080p. That is the average for pc gaming. If a product cannot provide this very simple thing, then, i will not use it. I game on pc obviously, so I will just use literally any other service.
@@MisterWoes You have to ignore how powerful your PC is. This isn't gaming directly off your PC, this is remote play streaming. I will use RUclips as an example. If you watch nothing but 4k videos off RUclips (only 4k) This kills your internet very quickly. That's why it's best to watch RUclips at 360p minimum to save as much internet as possible. If you have unlimited internet, then you can play all your PS5 (streaming) in 4k. Use minimum resolution as possible to make your internet last longer without a huge bill. I learned this the hard way with parsec streaming. I left the resolution on 4k. That's a lot of data. Now I keep my resolution on 720p minimum whenever I use parsec. The lower the resolution the longer the internet last. Keep watching RUclips at 360p.
@@100Bucks That's fine. I disagree with you respectfully. But you saying you prefer to watch RUclips @ 360p is crazy. You are on some sort of metered connection. Like a pay per byte sorta thing. In that case it is obvious we are going to have 2 completely different opinions on this. I pay for a certain internet speed with no data cap. At least that's the agreement with the ISP. So yeah, save what ever data you can bro. Good luck w/ PS+ on PC if you ever use it.
@@MisterWoes No I don't like watching RUclips at 360p but if that's what it takes to extend the life of my monthly internet bill so be it. On a cellphone 360p is the default resolution anyway unless you change it yourself. It also says the same thing that I commented. If you make resolution changes. (The higher the resolution the more data) it says it right there on the cellphone.

The PC app needs a full rework: we need a search bar, upcoming and leaving games, better sorted games and we need to have access to the same content as PS players.
Many are against cloud gaming. I do have my reservations. More about this at the end. But I certainly do see some unique opportunities. Purchasing a laptop with a N5030 is well within the budget of most people. Though quality Internet connection is an issue even in western countries. In rural areas for example, connection quality may be low and the same goes for connection speed. The 100 Mbps minimum is in my opinion a good first step. Hope it gets adopted by more countries as well. On the other hand I do like owning a gaming PC or console. What if a game stops being supported for some arbitrary reason? Why should my gaming experience be at the whims of a company even after I have purchased it? Last but not least, physical copies of a game pave way for future emulation. There is nothing like running a PSX or PS2 game in 4K
I'm curious how sony is doing the ps3 streaming, I highly doubt they are using actual ps3 hardware at this point in time, they must be doing some sort of emulation.
I would just put in the factor that people don't realize paying for any subscription instead of hardware is a waste of money since owning something you don't have to pay for it every year will catch up with a price of a gaming PC. That would last you way longer than any subscription service I understand if you get the newest parts it is not cheaper.
This is so dumb, You need the most expensive PS plus subscription. Why are you putting so much emphasis on the kind of hardware you are using? Its irrelevant, its just game streaming so as long as you can connect to the internet you can use this. Why do I nitpick like this? Because its borderline dishonest! All that matters is the connection quality and the latency. Since its actually running on Sony's servers the games are still limited in performance to what the PS4 can do Which means games that run at 30 FPS and have stutters on Sony's console will still have those performance issues. None of this was brought up which was actually important information.
People who own a PC and don't own a playstation are the audience. I want to play the uncharted games 1-3 that are not on PC. I can pay for 1 month of access to make that happen. I can also mess around with emulators, etc. but the point is flexibility. I don't want to buy a PS4 because I already have a great PC. I'm willing to spend some cash for just a month to get around to select titles. That amount is way less than buying the console and the games.
@bpurkapi That my friend, has nothing to do with the point I raised. Streaming subscription is dependent only in your inyernet conection and latency. Your PC's hardware is mostly irrelevant. Even a modern laptop with only integrated graphics can stream games. That is why I have a problem with the video putting so much attention on the hardware specs. It gives the false impression that comparable hardware is needed when it is not.
You said "I hope they change that soon": the requirement to use the Sony dongle to use a Dualshock on PC. This is Sony were talking about - if they haven't changed that in years, I don't see why they would ever consider doing so now.

That's what everyone 'wants'. But I can't carry my PS5 on the subway...
For single player cloud is a killer feature, especially no need to install anything
Plug in a PlayStation 4 or 5 Controller via USB on PC and controller is absolutely supported in Navigation Menu
or just use X-input Controller with its own key maps - however even over ethernet resolution/fidelity is way down compared to playing native PS5 connected - have tried running side by side on super ultra-widescreen Samsung Odessey G9 and difference is Night and Day especially on Spiderman - and Sony really need to bring streaming to Android to truly compete with XBox Game Pass
Brazil now have XCloud and Geforce now, PlayStation Plus streaming must have come to Brazil 🇧🇷🙏🏻
A real story of Romeo and Juliet. Laying down their console war divisions for love!!! 😭😭😭
A good note is it would also be a good idea to get a newer blu tooth usb hub if youre going controllers wirelessly vs wired most controllers work 100% of the time wired but, wireless comes with its difficulties. There usually under 20 bucks.
I hope that you and your better Half have a long and happy life.
Really informative, alot more confident in what to do now, thanks a bunch
Btw you cannot play ps5 games/ games with ps5 hardware benefits (like ray tracing or 60 fps 4k) on their streaming app. You can’t even get the ps4 pro hardware benefits
If sony allows this facility for PS Vita itself … then ps vita becomes a legend … since its only streaming and there is just an app to be allowed to install to Vita that makes hell 🤩
It use to be on vita a while ago when it was still ps now but they quit supporting it sadly
They don't have this in Australia... as per usual.
I'd totally pick this over gamepass for PC if it had the option to play games that have a pc version locally. The game selection is a thousand times better than gamepass, but where I live the internet connection isn't good enough for a stable, low input lag gameplay
Gamepass is night and day better. No comparison at this point.
Enjoy the WOKENESS. XD
It's weird watching this video seeing my exact same laptop that I got on sale at walmart as well lol
Even though I'm not a big fan of SaaS, I'm glad that this will put downward price pressure on gaming hardware makers. A budget laptop that costs a fraction of the price of a modern graphics card alone will be an attractive option.
yes you can get ps1 emulator and ps2 emulator and ps3 emulator over this member ship stuff not all your fave games will be on it xenosaga license issue no wild arms the same license problems all your faves on ps1 will not be on cause off license problems i just emulate for free instead .

Very interesting. Buying a gaming laptop just to feel that you are lagging behind the demanding specs is really frustrating. Now this is something to seriously consider.
So this is like having a ps5 but with no console?

Spider-Man was unplayable for me without a PS4 controller once you finish the tutorial and need to hit the trackpad to level up. No way to remap the trackpad button in options :/
That DS4 emulator software will enable you to use trackpad features in PS Plus by holding down the "view button" and then clicking in the right analog stick (or flicking it sideways).
Had no idea there was a ps plus for pc that is super cool as I don’t have a ps5 may have to try this out 😏
how does this compare to streaming from Xbox GamePass? does one stream more smoothely than the other?
From my personal experience, on my home internet, (Wi-Fi or either net) Xbox Gamepass Streaming is slightly better when it comes to latency

So mentioning ps5 games in the description and title of the video is somewhat of a clickbait. At best you can play ps4 versions of games that also got released on ps5 even if they were released for both platforms at the same time.
I tried running this but the lag was really bad even on my 500Mbit/s down wired connection. Emulation is the way to go for PS3 games and for PS4/PS5 games you'll have to run them natively to get a good enough experience for me
For PS3 games I think RPCS3 is best.
Love your video intros buddy!
So let me get this straight- I can pay $22 for a month, not purchase a ps5 for $800, and stream all these games to my PC? That's awesome, gonna get ps plus premium today.
Ill do the same as soon as its available in my country :), have controller, 17€ (premium) from the look of things, when it will be finally available and i can play great games, whats not to love, but ... wonder when will it be here where i live (available but only for PS5, so yeah, i guess ill wait a while, but hope not)
Good for non fps games
Try parsec before you jump to this, it's free. You can't pick what you wanna play, only what is hosted at the moment. No you won't play PS5 games but it could hold you over to save up for a PS5. Keep saving for PS5 while playing games through parsec. Smash bros ultimate is always guaranteed to be played on parsec.
@@100Bucks but why buy a ps5 atnall if you can play ps5 games this way......much cheaper
Assuming $70 is the average price of a game and the subscription fee doesn't change, and that you already have an adequate computer and internet. Let G = games bought per year. Y = years owning the console or active subscription. R = residual value if you sell the console, and physical games later.
$Buy = 800 + 70GY -R
$PSPlus = 264*Y

I'm sure they will only matter of time. Game pass is on mobile and they would be left behind if they didn't. Can't have that at Sony lol

Always love your on-hands videos. I have researched that various Linux OS flavors does a better job with gaming peformance, even with low end CPU/Memory/Video specifications on PCs/Laptops. Would love to see a video with your evaluation of a Linux OS and PC platform with using the Playstation Plus software.
HEY PLEASE TELL ME DO I HAVE TO BUY PS PLUS PREMIUME OR I CAN BUY THE ESSENTIAL PACK?
Some complain that games are getting too expensive in 2024, but PlayStation Plus Premium still rocks 🎉
I wanted to know how the input latency is? I did notice some in this video. Seems like a decent option, but it is hard for me to get into any kind of game if input latency is to high. Part of what makes a game fun is the responsiveness; which is why traditional local access to games (non-streaming) will always be my favored way to play.
Everytime I've tried it was pretty bad. But ymmv
It's horrible on some games. Played The last of us 1 entirely like this on PC. My PC is Nvidia 950m Graphics card, 256 GB SSD and 16 GB Ram. 100Mbps LAN cable connection and the game had all sorts of tearing, foggines and cracking. I didn't have a console at the time. Later when I bought a PS5 and streamed same games on pS5 I didn't have the same experience.
I hear you. This is why I will go for slower paced games if I go streaming.

@@Eyslava123 Do you know how cloud gaming works? His gpu doesn’t really matter.
this would be AMAZING for the steam deck... holy crap.
would be interested in a deep dive into the controller options, which perform better, do you need that PS dongle for better response or is the lag of each controller the same no matter how it is connected or what type of controller is connected.
As for what I was saying earlier about the Xbox controller Microsoft makes a dongle specifically for their controller that uses some proprietary technology that's faster than the normal dongle method and allows for multiple controllers to be connected simultaneously...most dongles I know of don't let you connect multiple controllers to it.
this makes low end windows handhelds more compelling. all of them should adapt wifi6 pretty soon.
Yes, in fact this opens the possibility for more people to enter the service and leave the money.
That’s really odd, I could not get mine working wirelessly, maybe a firmware update for the controller would help?
Jeezus. I have. Beast gaming tower and I just bought a ps5 yesterday.....
Nice feature but until it lets you natively install its a hard pass for me. Streaming is not possible for me as there is just way too much input lag.
Ive just tested my ps5 controller with DS4Windows. IT WORKS!!!
i connected my controller with usb c cable.
Guys try it :)

Hey, love your videos and just wanted to comment on that cool power rangers figure you have there, nice!
I'm curious how sony is doing the ps3 streaming, I highly doubt they are using actual ps3 hardware at this point in time, they must be doing some sort of emulation.
Probably hardware emu
Sony too late to the game. Already using and in love with Xbox cloud. I can stream and get free games on my pc. Great video though!!
