This is a great buy and love having it. I wanted to add that a LOT of the games in there have multiple versions. There are US, Euro, Chinese, Japanese versions of the same game. Some, like Street Fighter and King of Fighters, have many versions. The the real number of individual games is therefore far less than advertised since the 100,000 number includes all the different versions. Its not a big deal because it’s still a huge amount of games to try.
Hey man I have a question for you. I've never used one of these before, I've only ever had real systems. The games that are installed on this, are they the full real games? Can I save games? Is there 2 player games? If you respond thanks 😊
@@andrewcarpino1838 yes, they’re the same games. They mostly run as normal. You can save the usual way, as you would with the original games, and you have a separate save state option that can be accessed where you can pause and save anywhere you want (I can’t remember what the button combo is though). There is two player option, but on this machine you only get two USB ports. One is used up by the memory card that has the games which leaves one open port for the joypad dongle. Granted, they do struggle with some of the more modern games and there are tons of duplicates and a few games here & there that just refuse to run but for the amount of games that do run well and the ease of being ready to go right out of the box I think they're pretty neat little systems. This one actually looks like one of the better ones, I may end up picking this one up myself. Thanks for the honest, fair review. 👍 Looks like I'll be waiting to snag this one, currently out of stock.
ETA ….. if there’s is ever an emulation encyclopedia u need to be in it ! Pretty sure your videos made me do the switch from hyper spin to launch box … my life got easier, now we got emu boxes he’ll yeah.
If this could play and emulate some of the PlayStation games that aren't available on modern consoles, I'd totally give it a try. The original Resident Evil 2 is playable on my PS3, but it just ported, not emulated. A version of the game that is all smoothed out would be phenomenal.
Yeah I agree especially it being chipset for a handheld. Very least it could be a 905x3 4gb and $20 dollars less. Then again most retro games will run smooth on this system.
A fellow "Street Supremacy" enjoyer! I believe the biggest reason it didn't do well is the name. It's part of Genki's "Shutokou Battle" series in Japan. At the time most of the series had been published in the West by Crave under the fairly well known "Tokyo Xtreme Racer" branding. For some reason Konami ended up with the global rights to the PSP entry from Genki; but not the rights to the "TXR" brand, as that belonged to Crave. So, Konami had to use a new, and unknown, brand name for it. I think if Crave had gotten it and called it something like "Tokyo Xtreme Racer Portable" it'd sold considerably better.
I like racing games, but I've never been crazy about this series. I think it's the fact that all the races take place on bland highway loops at night. Also, I much prefer racing games where you try to place first after so many laps, rather than the health bar style of these games.
I like the idea of a console like this that just works out of the box without me downloading ROMs/etc...but the speed issues. Is there something like this that has more power? OBviously, I'd expect to spend more, but that would be ok.

This doesn't seem bad at all for people who just want to get up and running right away. 100,000+ games is a bit overkill, especially when multiple games are simply either in different languages or versions. But I guess saying you have 100,000+ games makes people want to buy it more. Personally, I curate my own collection. I've got about 22,000 retro games on my Steam Deck, no duplicates (unless you count MAME Pac-Man and Atari 2600 Pac-Man as a duplicate then yeah I got some duplicates....), and full collections of many systems. Easier to navigate and pick something nostalgic.
Looking at these system performance. We are kind of Lucky to have raspberry pi 4 on our side. I am yet to come across a single board computer that is compatible with so many things and inspite of costing 1/4 the amount of these systems. It still manages to beat them hands down.
@@HerondG I know it hurts. I am fortunate to have bought a pi4 before the prices became insane. But, 2nd hand pi4 are still at competitive prices. You can Try to get those there.
@@namangupta86 Pi's are great devices, but once you add in the cost of a case, fan, hdmi cable, controllers etc, the price soon adds up, assuming you can even find a Pi 4 at anything like it's normal price. You could argue that an old, cheap small form factor 'terminal' PC will do as good a job, if not better. It will also run Windows or Linux apps, browse the web and play PC games too.
@@another3997 Yes! the cost adds up for the first time. Most of the things like SD card(from old mobile phones), HDMI cable(comes with TV or other audio video devices), Controllers (Xbox or PS controllers are usually there at home but you also have an option to buy nice pair for not a huge dent). The whole idea of a pi is to tinker and watch with awe when it runs heavy systems like PSP, Saturn, Arcades etc flawlessly and still takes 5-12 watts at max. Combine that with the smallest form factor which I keep in a passive cooled noiseless case is a bliss. My mobile, Desktop or my Laptop might be able to run wii, Saturn or psp games flawlessly. But, it isn't just the same as a pi4 running those. Beleive me, It's the nostalgic experience that matters. That is kind of the whole point here. 🤩
If you play with these controllers alot they will only last about 6 months, then they stop working and the directional pads on them don't work very well, but the movement sticks on them work pretty well
yes they would need something a bit more powerful like a 4 core 8 threaded chip and it would be okay with like 8gb ram instead of the 2 they are putting into
I love my switch to much love all the new graphic stuff now days never had amazing graphics when I was growing up but good for people that like old graphics
This is a great machine for retro games and it plays every game as soon as you hook it up to your tv and turn the power on. My only complaint is the input lag on the button prompts. It takes a good half a second to respond to after you press any button.
I got one... Tips: Make a copy of the games on a GOOD SD card. Keep the power button on at the back and turn it on and off at the plug or wall. Buy a good controller. DO NOT connect it to your network. They are extremely rooted and contain Mailware.
This isn't strong enough for N64. It's more difficult than the ps1 to emulate which I would say puts it roughly around psp and dreamcast level hardware requirements which this didn't do well with.
Hahaha what are you Smoking?! The dreamcast has like 2vtimes the Power of the crappy N64. The N64 original came out in 1996 and had 64bit and 90mhz!! the dreamcast came out in 1998, was 128bit and had 200mhz!! And the Naomi arcade Board was even stronger. N64 loool. I could emulate N64 in 2001 on my PC.
Yea I just got the superbox X3 114,000 games but I think it's the same chip. I was disappointed in the Gameplay but I need to mess with the option more.. Thanks for the video.
For $130 I got a refurbished Dell Optiplex (looked new inside and out) with a 6th gen I5 and 256gb ssd. Even without the RX6400 I added, it will still blow this box OUT OF THE WATER! But yeah, I understand this is for folks who don't want the hassle with setting up their own build. 😌
There are always lots of options, depending on what you want to achieve, your budget and your skill levels. I think $130 is quite a lot for a retro gaming box. You can pick up an 'old' i3/i5 PC for next to nothing, or even just a Core 2 Duo, and it will still vastly outperform a cheap Android box. But it will use more power, take up more room and probably take a lot more setting up.
FYI for the future if you want to pick a PS1 game thats hard to emulate especially a fighting game you should pick Tobal #1 or its sequel Tobal 2 or Psychic Force. Ive found those are trickier than Bloody Roar 2.
I feel the super console x chili pc box is the 2022 best plug in play box of the year it emulates all consoles and games from the 1970s to now with the exception of ps4 ps5 Xbox one and Xbox x/s I know we can do it ourselves or get the pc box or mini pc or king for cheaper but it won’t emulate as well as the chili pc box

Yep, just grabbed one today with a gift card i got for X-mas. I have the lower end version of this box and I was happy with it but this one looks like it has a better variety of consoles and plays the higher end games better.
I'm a UK based computer game fan definitely from the 80s and 90s. I grew up with Atari, commodore Vic 20 64 and Amiga. As the years went by I finished up with PS1. I'm a super x console owner who can't download any more games. Could this be a good purchase?
Fell like this would be worth just for the Sega, SNES, and all those old consoles games maybe gameboy games too if there are any I did see when you were flipping through a bit that megaman nt warrior was on there.
1000s of games, sure. But most are not worth your time. If you don't have have access to the gems and your favorites from back in the day, these kind of boxes could be a quick and easy way. Also good for people with limited internet, especially if you can access the roms from the system.
Assuming you already have a spare laptop or other PC handy. If you have to buy everything from scratch, there are lots of options, depending on your budget, expectations and skill level. New or second hand, small or large, DIY or pre-built, cheap or expensive... pick your poison.
I'm surprised that ETA doesn't start an eBay store to sell off the stuff he never uses, like Retro Game Corps. Or dispose of them with contests on the channel. Then he can write off the cost of the item + shipping as a business expense on his taxes.
Vextrex was my 1st console that i picked out. I already had Atari in 1982/83 but Vextrex was awful. No saves,,no color lol...Scramble was hard as hell too.
I actually owned a Sega Saturn.. It was 450$ in the 90s. So those who think the modern day consoles they are totally worth it looking at the graphics...
Nice but I wound sill go to Office Depot or Best Buy get one of their chrome boxes replace chrome OS with some form of Linux like my fav ubuntu and make that the MAME Box. Cost for time to make one DVD-R.
Lets see... it's $100, or $130 for the upgraded model, that boasts, 82k games, or 100k games if you pay the extra $30, pre-loaded. Yet I can't find a list of games anywhere, and I can't help but be skeptical because of the vast number of "rights" issues involved in a package like this. We all know Roms are technically illegal if you don't own the game in question. Your link to the machine works, but ironically, there is not one single review on Amazon. Not one. Not even a fake one saying how great this thing is. You keep saying in the video we might want to upgrade the controllers... upgrade to what exactly? Maybe you said, but I admit I skimmed your video. It's 10 mins long and includes a bunch of information I was able to find by skimming the purchase page. The information I want to know: What games?.... you don't have on your channel. This whole thing stinks of a setup where they sell you a bunch of cheap hardware thrown together, and sell it to you until they get a cease and desist, and then offer you zero warranty or product support and then change the name and sell it again on a different page.
I vastly prefer the X button on the bottom, not the left, when I use a controller. Bugs me to no end that moving the x button is how they keep gamers loyal to their brand. Having to look down at the controller everytime the key prompt comes up has always slowed down my game play on Xbox controllers
The X button position has been on the left for longer than it was ever on the bottom, with one of the first iterations being the Megadrive 6-button (1988), in which the top row buttons the "X" was the left-most on that layout. The Super Nintendo (1990) had the "X" button as the uppermost in its diaganal layout. When the Sony Playstation launched in 1994, it was one of the first to do away with letters (typically the ABYX or ABCD) and use shapes instead. Since then, the majority still use the letter format, and more brands have used the left side layout for "X" than not.
All you have to do is have a laptop with at least 64 gigs and you can download all the games and emulators for every system for free. Any modern laptop can handle PlayStation one, and PlayStation two. So all the other game systems are easier to emulate. My laptop has Nintendo, super Nintendo, Sega, Sega CD, PlayStation one, PlayStation two. And it didn’t cost me anything and I have downloaded about 30 to 40 games for each system..
I remember buyying console X thinking it was the neatest thing ever. But then I built my own raspberry pi 4 computer. And...really? I can't go back. The performance was just so much better for the price point.
Horses for courses. At the moment, you can't get hold of a Raspberry Pi 4 at a decent price. Then you have to "build" up the system, a case, fan, PSU, SD card etc. Then you download all the emulators and games, organise them and set it all up. Personally, for that much effort, I'd rather use an x86 PC or laptop which will run everything at full speed. But sometimes people just want a cheap, quick and easy solution.
Depends on price and wondering if can add from classic game to new games even more newer games from future and remote controller being able to recharge too

Looks like I'll be waiting to snag this one, currently out of stock.
I just ordered one, they’re back in stock
@@NastyWorks thank you, I'll definitely check it out.
Can we all agree on how crappy Soulja Game console was? LOL!
I love the nostalgia of older games.
And nostalgia has levels also. I'm more nostalgic for Coleco than NES.
@@svenjansen2134 PS1/N64 over here.
These boxes work pretty well but you really don't know unless you get one and play games to the end
Some day first thing as a father im gonna buy this kind of system for my kids and let them embrace and enjoy the old school games.
ETA ….. if there’s is ever an emulation encyclopedia u need to be in it !
Too many s905 boxes. I feel at this point in time s922x should be the minimum for a dedicated emulation box to sell.
Yeah I agree especially it being chipset for a handheld. Very least it could be a 905x3 4gb and $20 dollars less. Then again most retro games will run smooth on this system.
We need some RK3588 boxes.
@@MyAulos true but after batocera and or emuelec support that chipset. Orange pi 5 will be the first one to be cheap.
S905X2, 2GB RAM...
The only real difference between two (three?) year old original Super console X pro & this X2 is a different case, in a nutshell 😒
I knew somebody would make something
Like this one day read my mind.
@@lurkerrekrul Well, lucky for you, pretty much every other racing game in existence has you covered.
I always want to see skies of Arcadia on dreamcast
Perfect camping toy with a portable battery pack for the machine and a portable projector this thing could be a lot of fun.
I like the idea of a console like this that just works out of the box without me downloading ROMs/etc...but the speed issues. Is there something like this that has more power? OBviously, I'd expect to spend more, but that would be ok.
I have a spare pi, I can never find reliable sites to get Roms from. Might just buy this.
@@MrProjectmayhem How old are you? I've never had a problem finding any ROM.
EDIT: LOL, YOU'RE A SOFTWARE ENGINEER??!? HOLY SHIT GOD SAVE US ALL! Bro, tell me how you have an engineering degree and you dont know how to use Google.
@@XXXXX8 thanks, I ask myself the same question every day. God knows how I managed it. TBH I haven’t properly looked for them, but the sites I did find are not trust worthy.
Honestly for the price its a pretty decent deal, especially considering it can run android apps for tv and stuff.
Dam 22k games eh?
So it's possible to get every single console game ever made basically?
@@GORILLA_PIMP I have pretty much every game from every home console from Atari 2600 to N64 on my PC so yes it is possible.

Wow dude that's nuts
I think imma try an figure out how to get some old games too

Looking at these system performance. We are kind of Lucky to have raspberry pi 4 on our side. I am yet to come across a single board computer that is compatible with so many things and inspite of costing 1/4 the amount of these systems. It still manages to beat them hands down.
if only rpi4s were at msrp tho
If you play with these controllers alot they will only last about 6 months, then they stop working and the directional pads on them don't work very well, but the movement sticks on them work pretty well
It *was* available on Amazon. And then ETA posted about it.
Just ordered mine ! In Amazon can't wait to try it tomorrow!
I would pick up something like this with a more powerful CPU/GPU combo, I would like to emulate up to Ps2/GC and higher end arcade.
yes they would need something a bit more powerful like a 4 core 8 threaded chip and it would be okay with like 8gb ram instead of the 2 they are putting into
Great for hooking up to a small screen in your car... I need something to do at break time 💪 love your vids, keep it up
Great video ETA! I'll like to see general Android and Android game performance on this console.
This is awesome bro. Added to my cart. Thanks for this great review 🙏
Thanks for the video. Been thinking about getting one of these. Been sitting in my wish list
I love my switch to much love all the new graphic stuff now days never had amazing graphics when I was growing up but good for people that like old graphics
Part of me likes this and the other part of me knows people are going to flood streams with content they don’t even own.
Lied about turning the music off in PS1 games. People know they dont have music to save space on the ROMS.
@timpeachey9394 Indeed,I have also the same X2 and the only game with music is Crash Bandicoot, that s the only one
This is a great machine for retro games and it plays every game as soon as you hook it up to your tv and turn the power on. My only complaint is the input lag on the button prompts. It takes a good half a second to respond to after you press any button.
Bro get Xbox series s or x , absolute emulator beast . I even played dreamcast online on it with quake 3 and pso
@@horineesgaming7354 I’ll try it out on my Series X one day when I feel like using my laptop to get the software
I got one... Tips: Make a copy of the games on a GOOD SD card. Keep the power button on at the back and turn it on and off at the plug or wall. Buy a good controller. DO NOT connect it to your network. They are extremely rooted and contain Mailware.
Not too bad of a price for those that can't and don't want to just set one up them selves.
It would be nice to see some N64 footage on this. :)
This isn't strong enough for N64. It's more difficult than the ps1 to emulate which I would say puts it roughly around psp and dreamcast level hardware requirements which this didn't do well with.
Hahaha what are you Smoking?! The dreamcast
has like 2vtimes the Power of the crappy N64.
Is it just the ROMs on the SD card, or the full OS? Be fun to see what booting that SD card on a Beelink SER machine would be like.
That SD card has the ROMS and the EmuELEC install. Without that stick plugged in, the device boots to vanilla Android TV.
Great channel and overview. I've been looking for something like this for the longest, is there a list of games that it offers? I really wanna play Snatcher on the Sega/Mega and Policenauts on the Saturn. Keep up the good work, I am definitely a fan of the channel
I don't mind if it's an add . I'll decided after his honest review .
I'd be more interested in the arcade only games and the NAOMI powered games and CPS3

Lol I've already been building these types of gaming PCs since last summer someone else finally caught on just the only difference is I get Free PC components thanks to my connection/friend 😁👍
Does it have classic Arcade games like Mortal Combat (1-3), Killer Instinct, NBA Jam, etc.? And can you create a favorite's list, as you go through the games, saving your favorite titles to an easier accessible list of the games you want to play all the time? Thanks for your review!!
What he said, MK? NBA Jam? Street Fighter 2 CE? Favorites? Game list?
If not these should be no brainer of features.

Got a 2 TB Xbox Original and while I do love it, I’ve been wanting to get into the Sega Saturn Library but it wasn’t available on my Xbox Original. 😅Now I want this one! 😮
While I don't support these machines. If you disable decorations, it should bring everything to full speed.
Thats pretty cool, is it worth 100, you bet ya.
I have an image on pi that is the same thing basically, but you got to know how to set it up, not that hard but maybe too much for alot of people. Its pretty cool
a notoriously hard game to run even on original hardware was Legend of Dragoon how does that hold up on a board like this????
Looks cool.
But if you have for example a xbox box series S or X you can take a few hours in retroarch and do something similar. Has the xbox is a ver powerful system to run emulators, with an external HDD its Just perfect

Jolly informative video👍 Thank you Prime.
Weird thing going on is they use and S905L chip inside only it shows S905X2 chip in the menu everywhere. 😳
In the and this is one of the many game boxes out there.... My favorite is that S905x3 with the next case & fan.
whats really confusing me is how they are getting this sort of performance on s905l / s905x2???? seems like sorcery or something
Id get it if I knew how the 3do games played on it.....I know 3do can be tricky on emulating, similar to the Sega Saturn.
I was thinking the same thing...I still have my 3do and play it from time to time, but my game collection is limited and they are hard to find these days.
Looks like a decent all in one easy start point. Do you have access to the file if you want to get in and make changes or remove redundant games or something?
Ahh. Someone who almost has the same name as me.🤣
Same here. I wanna know if games csn be added

Looks pretty good. Can you tell me, does it have the Die Hard Arcade game? I believe it was a sega cd game
For anyone interested there’s a current $20 coupon for these boxes on Amazon Dropping it down to $79.99 USD
Thank you for getting to the point
Fell like this would be worth just for the Sega, SNES, and all those old consoles games maybe gameboy games too if there are any I did see when you were flipping through a bit that megaman nt warrior was on there.

1000s of games, sure. But most are not worth your time.
If you don't have have access to the gems and your favorites from back in the day, these kind of boxes could be a quick and easy way.
Also good for people with limited internet, especially if you can access the roms from the system.
I preferred kimhank's 500gb disk and powering up from the laptop haha.

@@mattdavis9601 He has done contests in the past but not that many so he must just have so many devices still in his posession.

I actually owned a Sega Saturn.. It was 450$ in the 90s. So those who think the modern day consoles they are totally worth it looking at the graphics...
Well since Nintendo ain't doing enough to bring out the older games to modern systems like the Switch... i may aswell try this one ;)
I want one with Golden eye 64 and Harvest Moon on Super Nintendo. Sim City 2000 would be great too.
It has those already 🤦♂️
MvC2 alone make me want it.
The Super Console X King is still the king....
Instant buy saw dragon force on saturn, now if it had vagrant story or fromt mission 3 for PS1
You know what's even better than this?
Literally any used smartphone from the past 5 years.
No.
Might have to get this as a gift
Depends on price and wondering if can add from classic game to new games even more newer games from future and remote controller being able to recharge too
Nice video and review...as far as technology got, I still a retro gamer....nostalgia is unbeatable!
I am looking for a device to play exclusively SNES, Sega Mega Drive and Sega Master System.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Just buy a nes/megadrive mini and hack them.
Try RetroArch on your phone and mirror your phone to your tv over wifi. You'd be surprised how many systems you've been able to emulate all along already!
I have the older super console x and love it but its not very powerful. This one looks much better mine don't have sega Saturn and id like to have that. As for those controllers i think they are pretty good. I'm a big ps3 collector and when i had a problem with my dual shock 3 i used one of those controllers from my super console x as a replacement and it works great on my ps3. I was really surprised they actually are that good. Ty for the informative video👍
never knew that this existed until I saw this video.
I have a PI 3 I built up with RetroPi, and it took so many hours, getting complete roms etc. I used ETA videos throughtout to get me through though thankfully! So this looks like it would be a great plug and play. I have a question do any OpenBor games come preloaded with this system? I could never get them to work on my build.
There are a few openBor games but I couldn’t get them to work. They load up without any issues, I just couldn’t start the games. There’s probably a simple solution to it.
Great video... which controller would you recommend 🤔
