    Suggestion:
    would remove the hospital from the new location, and using the side door of the coffee shop at the station, would place a terrace with some tables.

    really like the Brickcross train station, but not fond of the hospital being right beside it. The hospital is a quiet zone and a train station isn't.

      I agree. Also the ambulance loading area is right next to the train tracks so I feel like if it were to stay then there should be a fence or barrier of some sort

      @Hoodedcrow369 3 дня назад

      I agree with the hospital placement, the other thing is the ambulance drop-off would have a way in and out, normally one way, currently has limited capacity if you were thinking of making it close to realistic this would need changing

    I would move the hospital to a different location, maybe create more parking or an extension to the cafe on the side of the station.
    Also, in the 2 base plate gap in the middle you could build an outside basketball court, with an entry way from the street in the half base plate gap in the buildings.

  • @alphonsesuitperson
    @alphonsesuitperson 4 дня назад +21

    I don't like that the plain wall is facing the open area that we see the most, I am sure it would be a lot of work, but almost thinking that flipping where the storefronts are so that the cafe faces us, and has the alt mod of it where you put in a bigger patio/music stage in would work really well.
    In terms of where in the city its great!

    • @Mark-tt7uy

    I think you should switch both side parts of the station. So the waffle shop on the left side, so you have a more beautiful view and maybe make the terrace a little bit bigger. And the new paper stand is just a wall so that can be on the hospital side.

    Hi Bricksie and Jose.
    Thanks for this delightful update on the City. The placement of the Brick Cross Train Station is perfect! And all of the other modifications now make so much sense.
    I'm so glad you didn't have to rip up the beach, as it is so lovely and there are so many stories you have created.
    Enjoy your evening. Hot chocolate sounds like a good idea.

    You should make the 3 curve road plates to one angled road! (Right by the hospital)

  • @martindms77
    @martindms77 3 дня назад +2

    I love everything you do. I'm confident you will find the perfect place for the train station. Right now, it looks too out of scale with other buildings. I think if you want to keep it in the city you will need to increase the height by as much as six bricks. I also think that the big city block you made hides too much of all the great work that you've done behind it. I don't have any easy suggestions for you. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

  • @hammond_adam
    @hammond_adam 3 дня назад +1

    For the two empty base plates in the middle, I would put in a parking garage. You'd have to take out a half base plate along the front road as an entrance, but it would give you somewhere to put all your excess vehicles. Plus, there theoretically should be more parking downtown. Other than a small area facing the street, it wouldn't need much detail.

  • @AstroNerd
    @AstroNerd 4 дня назад +6

    I really like the placement of the train station. My only comment is to do with the “s” shaped curve it creates in the read to get to the zoo. Could slide the hospital down one base plate and just extend the road and only have 1 curve? You’d need to move the Jazz club to the right and have the road right along your access hole. This also gives you room in between the train station and hospital to add a buffer building or some of the other recommendations in some of the other posts.

    Suggestion for that little corner sliver between the tracks and new station, would make a great little subway entrance.

  • @mrsawiggins
    @mrsawiggins 4 дня назад +1

    Yeah, that's walkable from the station to the zoo and beach. And having it there DOES make it more accessible for the rest of that part of downtown. It nicely rounds out the one touristy area and has another station nearish the other touristy area. That makes sense. I might add a sidewalk to connect it to the boardwalk, but they can walk around the hospital to accomplish the same thing.
    Looks great! And I like the idea of a secret garden!

    I also got the brickcross station. I put another 32x32 baseplate next to the cafe section, extended that and I am in the process of making a subway entrance/walking garden.
    I think for your station, making it more of a transportation point. So on the left side of the building you could add a bus stop. I don’t think the hospital works in that spot so moving would be my next step

  • @lange2zero
    @lange2zero 2 дня назад

    I really like the location of the Trainstation. It make sense to have public transportation service in that end of town as well. One thing I wonder about, that i couldn't really see in the video. Instead of two corner roadplates, would it be possible to just extend the road to the accesshole and just have one corne. Thought that might look nicer. Then there would also be 2 baseplates next to the station, where you could build a pedestrian crossing, so minifigs can access the beach. Just some ideas. Can't wait to see what you work on next :o)

    Don't think you had many other places to put the train station. If you placed it by the beach we would only see the back of it so I think this was a good choise. I think I would try to find a half plate building to go beside Assembly square to hide the back/side of the neighboring building though,, and maybe put some trees or something in the green area you plan to have by the station to hide the wall facing the green area as that doesn't look much better than the backs of the modulars.

    Just a suggestion, but you tend to mention space usage and depth/ elevation. Please, please.... reconsider the layout with the taller buildings in the front block. Shorter buildings and then go taller. It'll give you the perception of elevation and everything won't tower over the train station and the boardwalk. The city will progressively get taller naturally.
    Just a suggestion really, but overall I love what you're doing. 👍

    I like the idea of the train station being at that end of the city, and close to the beach area.

    The narrow building integrated into the train station suggests that there must be another building right next to it. Right now the station seems a little out of place to me as I think it needs to be surrounded by other developments. Another solution would be to mirror the station and have the cafe on the other side, as others have suggested

  • @Cardogenic
    @Cardogenic 3 дня назад

    An idea for ya maybe to try, instead of having the 3 baseplate space between the modular buildings would it make more sense to push the first row of buildings back some along the water front? It seems like an oceanfront view would attract a lot more pedestrian traffic and outdoor dining. I don't think such a lovely ocean front view would be wasted on a Corner Garage. I'm just trying to think from a developer's real estate point of view. When looking at your city I like to imagine what the minifigures lives are like and how they would enjoy the city.

    Maybe you can put the hospital on the other side of the station, so that the station cafeteria is on the corner, if you turn the hospital a quarter it can be connected to the road immediately. Bricksie, the new Lego greenhouse modular, you could place it behind the boutique hotel, with this setup, so bonus.
    Look up old town by simon 84 on re brick able, it also has a alley, would mean moving your twin buildings with their walkway.
    But it would give you two alley.
    Another option would be moving your front street, one baseplate backwards, that would allow you to put in on a long stretch of track, to letting you add in a long platform.
    As for your country station, what about getting a current low key hogwarts express for it's station?
    The one you already have, had that platform with walkbridge to the other platform.
    Then you can play it as your hogwarts is where one of your standing holes, currently is.
    But you forgot another option, for your new brickcross station, namely, before the zoo, just needs a smaller turning loop, or one more layed backwards.
    Would let you use a longer platform and who says the cars need to turn, at all?
    There is that beach parking spot, right?
    Just needs a bus stop.
    Start using those standing holes, better.
    With that I mean, play it as if something is actually there, that we can't see.
    Like say the Zoo being bigger then we actually think, by say expending some of the walls, along the edge of the standing holes, so you can see the inside, from the hole.
    Maybe add in a basement of said structure, for example.

    Idk about you, but I think the 2 buildings next to the police station should swap sides. Either that or you should cover the walls on the police station and garage with graffiti to cover up the exposed flat sides. Same on the back side, since you're planning or putting a park back there, the backside of the police station is a great place for one of those building size graffiti or advertisements
    On that note, I think realistically this would be a bad place to put a park as with all those tall buildings so close it the park would get no sun. It would be better to add a basketball court or skate park.

    If you turn the modulars like you had the idea with the pedestrian area where the previous road was, you could make the walkway only 16 studs wide and incorporate 16 stud deep modulars to hide the backs of the other row. Also, the 3 turn “s-bend” in front of the hospital and Jazz Club would make a bit more sense as just one turn, but it’d require a bit of modification to the raised section. (See replies for diagram)

    the corner garage pull-ins crossing the bike lane are not ideal. however, at least the hospital is right there.

    The hospital should definitely not be next to the train station. It's way too high. Put some small building, like a restaurant or bar next to the station so the station has some "room to breathe".

    Personally, I feel the hospital is a little bit out of place. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t put any buildings next to the train station at all. I’m in Europe and here those types of buildings are usually standing on their own with some space to breathe, so maybe I’m biased

    A basketball court in the opening might be pretty cool, for the youths. Or Adam Sandler. 😆😎
