Is no one going to talk about the smooth transition here 39:59
That is a seriously smooth transition
42:23 did it too
Sonic Origins doesn't even bother with using the looping points in Sonic CD like what was done with the 2011 remaster.
Now that's a dissapointment
It honestly didn't need to and most of the themes when they loop sound natural. Only shame is that some great character building loops were lost like Tidal Tempest and Collision Chaos
The US soundtrack doesn’t use updated tracks either, Quartz Quadrant Present is really jarring without the key change

The Tidal Tempest One Also IT HAS POOP BUT IT'S A TYPO OF LOOP
(The Bad Future Is)
Final Fever loop 1:05:58 done :)
@@eltonsoares2625 Thanks for saying it, I'll put it on the list.
5:05 Omg I’ve actually never heard this looping section before in the good future segment, those concussions really bring out the Brazilian vibe of this soundtrack even more.
You haven’t heard that part? I’m pretty sure it’s in 2011, albeit not as clear as this video
@@lucomc32607 I just played Sonic CD yesterday and got to the good future of Palm tree panic, listening to the track in full, I was wrong lmao. I guess it’s because I’ve never stopped to listen to the track in it’s entirety before advancing to the boss.
@@raringrph1560 I feel ya, last night I beat that stage in 25 seconds, most of which were spent waiting on Eggman to fly down so I could take him out
51:43 as well
It sounds so vigorous and crazy… i love it
This soundtrack is spectacular. Best music in the Sonic franchise, maybe even all of gaming.
I also suggest Rez, both Space Invaders Extremes, 19XX The War Against Destiny, and San Francisco Rush 2049
I've known about Rez but I've only watched a little of gameplay. From what I've seen, it looks really cool. Might check the soundtrack later.
I suggest sonic rush soundtrack is only too sampled
All of the gaming the best it is Sonic 3D Blast OST (each platform)
agreed
I just wanna say that I'm grateful to every dedicated Sonic fans for remastering the sonic cd ost to what it was always meant to be from the start, it's a shame that technical limitations of the Sega CD almost made these tracks lost media.
Well unfortunately, they still are technically lost media. I just tried to make what we have fit better with the tracks
@@DeevDaRabbit That's a real shame, but at least having a piece of the music is better than having none of it
@@DeevDaRabbitwdym lost media
The original high quality versions of the loops
@@DeevDaRabbiti doubt we'll find them too since hayata and ogata likely didn't keep the original multis or the tapes they used, as sega is pretty much using straight rips from the game when they have to
It’s kinda crazy to realise but a lot of these loops are some of my favourite parts of the songs, I never realised they were just intended as loops. The quality here is spectacular, it’s sometimes really hard to tell it’s even entered a loop since the quality is so close.
You did a fantastic job using the loop points to transition into the next song. An excellent presentation of the soundtrack, thank you
I do that in my mind on long car rides when im bored

Wow this is awesome!
I like how the background for the level in question change. Nice job with this! Sonic CD is one of my favorite osts from Sonic
I have now found the best way to listen to these tracks, much appreciated my friend
Sweet! Fun driving music.
yooo bro, i love you, youre the best, congratulations, i was waiting this restorations a lot of time ago, i love the perfects loops, you did a great work.
Dude some of these transitions are so clean, notably the one between Wacky Workbench Present & Good Future
The only problem with that transition though is that the present version goes on for an extra bar or whatever than you'd think it would. It's hard to explain but I haven't studied music theory since school but it sounds weird that it keeps going for an extra bit.
@@k-leb4671 you used the right term, it is a bar.
music loves patterns of time, and so including the transition can break the repetition of bar quantity that you would be adapted to in the song
Did Sega's work for them. Great work with restorations!
You changed the loop track of SS bad future at the end nice
Wow! This is really well done. I especially like how the MM Present loop was sped up to match the tempo of the rest of the track. This is the only version of the track I've heard where the beta loop doesn't sound jarring. And the loops sound so, so nice in high quality. Thank you for this.
My only nitpick is that I think some of the tracks were intended to skip their intros when looping. The approach taken by zummone in ruclips.net/video/4JRQSAMEi0k/видео.html works really well for some (though not necessarily all) of the tracks. (The Boss theme is a great example of this.) I think mixing in a bit of zummone's approach with the high quality loops used here would produce the ultimate version of the soundtrack. And if you really wanted to go nuts, you could have the song loop twice, skipping the intro after the first loop but not the second.
But as of this moment, this is the best version of the JP present/future tracks on the web, as far as I'm aware.
Actually, if I remember correctly, a dev on Sonic CD had confirmed on Twitter that the tracks were supposed to restart right to the very beginning after the loop, not skipping the intros like what zummone did.
the 2011 remaster had the loops reimplemented with the original quality, and some tracks like mm present and cc present skipped their intros after the loop
@@snowtenkey118 The 2011 version was not high quality... It was using the original PCM samples from the prototype.
@@Azelf89 Yeah because loop points weren't figured out with CD quality music at the time. The samples were designed to allow the song to reload, which is why they were PCM instead of CDDA, though the likely reason why they were scrapped was because the CDs aren't guaranteed to load at exactly the same speed every time, so the loops didn't fill in the amount of time needed sometimes.
i first played this game 2 years ago why am i nostalgic for it
7 years in my case and I'M SO NOSTALGIC.
You changed one of the piano keys in the TT loop. That was neat. Not that i don't likw how it was done ingame but that sounded really neat!
I used the past for reference.
@@DeevDaRabbit speaking of which, why is there no pasts??
@@estonianhussar they loop by themselves
@@avegee24tv still couldve included em tho
Because they aren't CDDA. This is showcasing the loop samples from a prototype of the game.
Quadtz Quadrant Bad Future and Stardust Speedway Good Future are probably my favorites when it comes to those loops
Incredible stuff! It'd be nice if you updated the tracks from the download link to loop at least once once (preferably also with a little fade out in the end maybe)
They're supposed to be looped in whatever music player you have. That's why they don't fade out.
There are some loops that contain a part of the song that they did not add on my CD Soundtrack copy and that surprised me. Just like Collision Chaos ending.
Incredible! pls it will be nice if you upload these songs individually so i can place them in my youtube playlist alongside the past versions
It's in the description
Something i noticed for the Final boss theme, or just Final Fever, on spotify is that it's loop theme is still there, it's just kinda cut off and fades out
i love how the sonic cd soundtrack is longer than your average playthrough
Well I had each song play twice.
AWESOME. Hoping you can do the USA tracks in the future as well.
There were no loop samples for the US tracks.
@@DeevDaRabbit maybe a restauration of the album versions
@@m3t4l_sh1dd3r that isnt a restoration.
These sound spectacular! What source did you use for the main soundtrack, cuz these sound about close to the DataDisc Vinyl/FLAC release from 2019?
Side Note: Only nitpick I can comment on are that the loops of Tidal Tempest Present and Quartz Quadrant Good Future could use some more stereo separation. Other than that, they're perfect!
I used the CDDAs extracted from the same prototype that had the loop samples.
I really didn't know what to do about TTZ and QQZ GF... I don't have access to the instruments used because I can't afford the Korg M-1 and stuff like that.
@@DeevDaRabbit That's understandable on your part of it. I would have assumed you'd have used what was in Sonic CD Sound Source's video of the lossless loops and compressed the files down to match the CDDAs, since you and Collision Chaos Radio collaborated on the restorations. Maybe you could also do a sort of behind-the-scenes on how the loops were restored if you ever found the time, cuz I actually am curious myself how it's done.
@@cgrfan1996 I unfortunately SUCK at explaining my process, it's actually really complicated and I myself am even still learning after doing it for 4 years
