I am NOT the developer of SDR++ That honor goes to AlexandreRouma aka Ryzerth
If you are looking to support the Developer, their Patreon is: patreon.com/ryzerth
I'm simply a very enthusiastic fan of the software who posts videos on ye old RUclips....
@@SignalsEverywhere Recording don't work yet and can this decode digital with plugins
Recording seems to work when done to a different folder
@@SignalsEverywhere How I do that
You can save and play IQ recordings, the current release you'll want to change the default directory though
Awesum! Works perfect on my Tab and Airspy R2. Thankyou
I thought I was dreaming when I saw the notification for this video in the morning 😂I am so stoked to use SDR++ on the go!
I kinda released the video early 😂
Once I was a public pre release I was ready to go!
Had the private release for some time and was soo happy to finally be able to talk about it.
reply to comment to help out w/ the algorithms!
That was amazing thanks for sharing with us all nice 👍
This should look really good on my Lenovo Android tab. Super Sweet. Now they just need to add support for SDR Play SDR's Sweet. Great video thanks.
I hope the SDR play team redesigns their API so that it could be more easily integrated into software such as SDR++
@@SignalsEverywhere I agree, They are a very well designed SDR, and their software team is a bit slow but they are very good at what they do. SDRUno is very robust, but not available on android obviously lol. SDR++ has a lot more built in decoders especially for digital it looks like, so I will be glad to play around with that. I may be picking up an Airspy or HackRF soon not sure which yet. Either way lots of fun to be had for sure lol.
Thank you very much for this channel Sarah!
Thanks for watching, I'm going to try and keep it active this time!
Awesome! Thanks for posting!!!
Thanks for this video! It helps a newb like me get started. 👍
I've dreamt of this kind of functionality for a *_long_* time. Thank you so much for covering this. Great content as always!
thanks 👍I appreciate what you doing
It looks awesome! I will have to look into it now! 👍🤓🇦🇺
Another great video! The backside of this, as an iPhone user. I have to get my hands on a sticky android now to test this out!
I can only assume it's a very excited phone
I love it!!! Keep it up
Nice video! Thanks!
Thanks for watching
Hi, I have sdr touch fully working with my phone and the rtl sdr stick. However, the android app does nothing when I choose the stick and hit play. Any clues on this ?
What interconnector need ? From USB female to USB-C.
SDR++ has fast become my desktop go-to. Maybe it's time I learn how to connect my rtl-sdr to my phone...
get an external battery and double OTG cable, it will suck up your phone battery in no time
@@DanSlotea Oh yeah, that makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion!
This is so freakin awesome ! I can’t wait to try this . Thank you so much for posting this Sarah . :)
Thanks for watching :)
Very nice!
Thank You for this App,
I just made the video showcasing it, you can find the developer here www.patreon.com/ryzerth
bonjour et merci , pour ma part jais installer sdr++ sur mon android 11 , mes jais un problème de résolution , savez vous comment le résoudre ?
hi whats the difference between limesdr mini and limesdr usb
Now We need DSD Plus for Android,
Is there a scanning feature on sdr++. I'm new to this and very uninformed
got this going but cant get any HF signals with my RTL SDR. I do just fine with my PC but no when trying on my android. anyone got any ideas?
Yeaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
Alright, you have SDR++ questions. Let's hear them!
Will SDR++ Appear in the Play Store soon?
@@esquire1229 yes, I will update here once it's available I believe the developer is going to have that taken care of either this weekend or shortly after
@@SignalsEverywhere real exciting news - thano you!
I do have one question. I am looking for openear 1.6.0. Unfortunately this software is no longer available to download.
@@lee99bay I don't have a copy, if I recall correctly it was pulled down due to copyright issues or patent issues with the support of tetra
Where can I buy it?
This is a game changer!
support for limesdr-mini?
Hi there. You need to lower the background volume. I didn't understand a thing you said from 0:15 to 0:44.
Yeah I messed up there, won't be using background music on this channel again
Sdrplay support? Couldn't see the screen well. I have an rsp1a.
No current support for the SDR play unfortunately, the sdr play you saw was connected to remotely using SDR plus plus server which does work but obviously is not as good as native support.
If I recall correctly it's how SDR play handles their API and how they do things on Android which is preventing implementation at the moment, I'm not the developer so I can't directly say if this will be added down the road or not.
Why there isn't a "SCAN" mode which jump between stored freqs like in the SDRTouch app? I just don't get it.
SDRs are not scanners, the only decent one I've seen scan is the RSP
The BEST app for Sdr!!! One question, in the future it will have the tetra plugin? Thanks!!!
The developer seems interested in one but I cannot say for sure
@@SignalsEverywhere Thank you! if one would be great haha! Greetings, keep it up!
Excellent video Sarah, exciting stuff ! SDR++ is getting more and more the first choice SDR software, and it's getting better and better , both on desktop and Android.
Thumbs up for you and Alexandre of course ! 73, Patrick ON4CDJ
What are some compatible phones?
it doesnt work on my xiaomi note 9 pro running android 11, and I cannot see any otg setting in the phone. im using usb c to microusb cable to my hackrf. what am I missing? thanks
He would have to look up where the OTG settings are for that specific phone and it have the experience with it but as long as it supports OTG it should work, many newer devices turn OTG off after 10 minutes of inactivity
@@SignalsEverywhere Thanks for the info. I will have another try perhaps with a RTL this time.
How do I install on Android?
You said you listened to "a P25radio system" using SDR++ for Android. How did you do that? Thanks!
I was displaying the entire system on the screen but not decoding voice, that being said there is a voice decoding module planned in the future for my understanding
@@SignalsEverywhere Thank you! Looking forward to the "native" Android decoder. Thanks for all in infr in your vids and twitter posts!
Thanks Cool Beans!
I just Got this App,
Anyone can think this is the SDR# as the design is too similar
It's very possible that ++ can support Sharp-s plugins . something that i didn't test til now
None of the plugins are supported, SDR++ was built from the ground up
Amazing! Can we use this app with an Android TV box? Have you tested it with one of these devices? I have a chinese one (Vontar X3), and an Amazon TV Firestick. Greetings.
I haven't had the chance to test but others have, yes it will work on some devices and I have seen it run on a TV
I have used it on an old Android 6 TV box. works perfectly
@@DanSlotea Thanks everybody!
I will tested it, as soon as i can.
Greetings!
Did you connect 2 sdr dongles to the phone?
Physically only one is connected at a time, but you can do additional by connecting over your local network
Thanks for showing this amazing software. I already use the software on my SDR laptop, and I did not know about this Android pre-release. SDR on a phone is a great alternative to use SDR on a Raspberry Pi (or other SOC devices), because of the very high price and low availability for the Pis. SDR++ works on my Moto g6 plus (Android 9) and Moto g20 (Android 11) phones with a Nooelec smart dongle.
Any reason I'm not seeing it on the android app store? Thanks and nice video!
The app is still pending release on the store but is available now via the link in the description from GitHub
@@SignalsEverywhere That's what I was thinking. Thanks again!
Once they get it added to the store I'll be sure to update the link in the description
I was unable to find it on the Google Play store.
It has not yet been released on the store, it can be found freely available on the GitHub repository though
ohhh.... game changer. now to find what the heck I did with my otg cable.
Great video! How is the setup for P-25 conventional?
auto comment to help out w/ the algorithms!
I would love if finally SDR console goes android
There's so much to the design in UI of that application I don't see it ever seeing an Android release, keep in mind even the desktop release has been in beta
Downloaded and installed. It's got a ways to go but it's a start. My print on the tablet is huge and can't be adjusted (that I can see so far). Baby steps.
You need to adjust scaling, the option is on the left side module bar
@@SignalsEverywhere that would be AWESOME if I could see it.
I assume it's on the Displa section.
Show W
Fast ff
Full wa
It's all I can see on the Displa section. No left right slider either.
Playing with it I found that I can slide the window pane (took a chance)
Ok got it sorted.
@@SignalsEverywhere ya gonna need to contribute some coin. This is a neat app!!
@@SignalsEverywhere ok I'm a bonehead. I was on the way out the door and didn't watch the whole vid. Ugh
@@TNRonin no worries, it happens.
I try to keep my videos as concise and in depth as possible.
This was a longer video but since it was an introduction I wanted to be as through as possible with the basic features.
Thanks for watching
Is this still available? I'm not finding it... or I'm not good at searching. Lol
It's not in the app store yet, dev is in college working on other stuff... You can install direct from the website though www.sdrpp.org/
The app is *not* on the Play store, correct?
Not just yet, but you can get it on GitHub
My ancient tab 2 won’t allow me to to GitHub. Also it doesn’t have enough power out for rtssdr
Bias T off your phone is impressive!
It worked like butter!
Parkay! lol
Is the app out already or is it currently in the works ?
First link in the description you can download the app, it will be in the app store soon and I will then update that with the store link
@@SignalsEverywhere I appreciate it thank you very much !
Great video, new to ham. Is it possible to use these to send SOS messages from android?? If not what do you suggest for such a task?
I don't see SDR++ in the play store
Not in the store yet, it will be once the developer gets through Google's hoops, in the meantime you'll have to grab it from the repo
@SignalsEverywhere probably should have mentioned that in the video and maybe in the description?
Link to get the software is the very first in the description, as soon as it's in the store that link will be updated too, I did mention it in the video near the end.
android 9 !!! :( 4,5,6,7....???... :(
In regards to some people seeing crashing if it more a reboot, this can be evident on older phones where the battery is well used and the battery not being able to supply the USB device with what it needs or combination of USB and extra processing strain on the phone battery. had with a few phones over the years so a possible cause there for people to be aware of as the phone will just reboot when the battery sags.
My initial impressions are good, a few UI elements need work but that's noted in the Video also. Did have a crash(Reboot) but I do have battery issues so can put that down to battery load, recharged Phoned to 100% and all is working good :-) been wanting something like this app for android for ages so well done good job so far :-)
I believe the developer will have this just as stable as the desktop release in no time.
It's not perfect, but it's revolutionary in the Android/mobile world.
I've had this issue before in the past even with touch. I solved it by buying a Powered USB OTG device and powering it from a little battery backup charger for cell phones. Completely solved the issue. Some of these SDR's are quite power hungry lol.
Just to put some context to power, most SDR's are within the USB 0.5A spec, so not massive eaters of power but when added to the requirements on a phone under load an older battery might not cut it. but for info AirSpy HF+ uses 0.34A at 5V an airpsy mini 0.28A and one of my Generic RTLSDR dongles 0.26A draw. 🙂
You could use a mouse too seeing as it's android
Yes, that's absolutely an option
The sad day when this drops and you are all out of USB-C OTG cables :(
I wonder how good this would be on a tablet
It's a lot better on a tablet, I just didn't have one on hand
This App don't Work with the Adam Pluto SDR,
It needs to be connected via local network interface
Just noticed you said you are trans. So am I xx Thus you get a subscribe and a HUGE like from me. Ty for this video.
p25? so this software can decode it ?
I was just looking at the full bandwidth of a system but a decoder I believe is coming some day
@@SignalsEverywhere i would love this in mobile sdr
@@Akiralsdr I wish my car's head unit was Android, then I could just run it directly from the console :)
What is the minimum Android device resolution requirement?
**Does it Support Pluto**
If I recall correctly it does but only over IP, so you would have to have a network connection to it, whether that's an ethernet adapter on your phone or connected over a local wireless hotspot
To my knowledge there is not currently native support
@@SignalsEverywhere thanks for the details sarah
Nice audio.. with the SDR hash and the _friggin sub bell_ drowning out your voice in the beginning. Seriously???
Good thing there's no more tutorials coming out for you to complain about.
You talk over noisy background and I can't hear what you are saying , tru muting and un muting background noise during your presentation and talk a little slower please, keep up the good work
I definitely should have triple checked my audio levels, especially at the beginning. Thanks for the feedback
I am looking forward to playing with this! 73, N7YYZ
