Hello, Those are the specific names for the versions of ubuntu. if you use ubuntu or a distro based on ubuntu, make sure to select the correct one so the library versions match up.
0:32 Background music: no, don’t do it…. You will waste time trying to find and perfectly place tracks. Run risks. And annoy those of us who just want to hear your voice and the tutorial. If we want music, I’ll play my own.
You are catering to an audience that is generally plenty interested enough to look up this very obscure thing, and learn about it. I don't think you will entertain them by adding music. Plus, it's hard to focus with music in your face. This was barely noticable, really. At the end of the day, truly, we just want to see you grow and teach us even more cool stuff.
these interfaces are a nightmare to use, they all assume you know everything about SDR and constantly use abreviations that mean nothing to us none SDR geeks, then when you see someone explaining how to use them and they also assume you are SDR compitent and understand all the abreviations they use, trial and error seems the way ahead for us thicko's
And another one...so i install the third program for a sdr dongle...sdr++, extract it and run. straight away its missing a file vcruntime140.dll why dont you start the video by telling us how to install the software and where to find every missing file...its nuts that so far today ive crashed one pc, that doesnt see the mouse anymore, so a bit hard to command a restore command...now this program is incomplete....
You need to install a visual c++,, I didn't mention it because the vast majority of people already have it installed myself included. You also could have just read the read me file instead of yelling at me.

Short of that you may want to open a request or take a look at the GitHub to see if somebody has had a similar issue.
There may be a better solution, I have not yet run into this issue
@@SignalsEverywhere thanks
I discovered SDR++ last week and tried to install it on my Linux Mint 19.3 machine, but doesn't work unfortunately.
I'll try later once more, as this software really looks promissing and has a lot of potential. So far I'm still with GQRX and Linrad on Linux.
Ohh and....no need for background music for me please ;o)
Unfortunately, Mint 19.3 is based on ubuntu 18.04 which is extremely out of date both in terms of libraries and compiler support (gcc-8 is requires for std::filesystem)
It's therefore unsupported at the moment.
I'd recommend updating your distro to something more recent.
@@ryzerth Thanks for the quick reply Alexandre ! Yes one day I need to update, but as you know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it :o) Meanwhile I tested it on W10 and works just fine !
Keep up the good work, well done !
@@ryzerth Hi Alexandre, sorry to hijack the thread, just want to let you know that when time comes I would like to help translating your awesome project into Spanish (my native language) if you have thought about it, I'm a FrontEnd/UI developer (mostly working on JS stuff type), can also test on a BladeRF 2.0, thank you for your superb project
Everyone talk abou how to receive, but how about sending!
I wouldn't be surprised to see that down the pipeline, there is software that can do it and I have covered a couple of them. SDR angel and SDR console being the two that I know right off hand that work under windows and then there is GNU radio that works primarily under Linux
with my ADALM Pluto this software is lagging
What sample rate are you running? The Pluto has a hard time at higher sample rates
sdr ++ also supports sdrplay devices?
Yes, it does!
@@SignalsEverywhere Great thank you. Do you have to install something extra in the software for the SDRPlay or is the SDRPlay already preinstalled in the list? If not what do you have to do, for example. to install the SDRPlay Dx there?
In the modules create anyone with the drop-down for the SDR Play source.
This will allow you to load in the plugin/module that allows that SDR to function.
I plan to test it out on the channel at some point
@@SignalsEverywhere That is great. Thank you for your work and your great videos
Thanks for watching, I wouldn't be here otherwise!
Nay. Your speech rhythm is good.
Thank you, I'll leave the music out next time
No thanks on the background music - I find it’s easier to focus on the voiceover without!
Thanks, I take the feedback to heart. I'm trying to improve things and I've had feedback preciously that I can tend to drone on or go mono tone. This was my attempt to fix that.
tried it did not like it
Pls make a 32 bit version of sdr++. I will build a standalone sdr receiver. My Pc is a Minix z64w windows 8/10 this pc have a 32bit uefi. I cant install win 64bit. Pls make a 32bit version.
I'm not the developer and I don't want to speak for them however, 32-bit is a different architecture and I don't see a ton of extra time and resources being devoted to support outdated hardware.
Unfortunately that's just the nature of development these days I've had some software that I've managed to recompile 32 bit myself but often it involves changes that just can't be easily/quickly done.
Re music: It is worse than useless for those like me with less than perfect hearing. I know it's "nice" but it doesn't help. On the other hand, at least you have a reasonable level unlike many others.
Just a quick idea, how does it actually perform, numbers m8, Db matters.
Thanks for the introduction, I've been looking for a good one for quite a while now. Fingers crossed, this has what I need, sure looks good so far. There are a few for ubuntu, debian etc but a quick insight into the differences would be greatly appreciated. Hirsute, groovy, etc. refers to what?
Please? :)
Hello,
Those are the specific names for the versions of ubuntu. if you use ubuntu or a distro based on ubuntu, make sure to select the correct one so the library versions match up.
@@ryzerth OK m8, thanks. I'm actually using mint 18 and mint 20 so I've got a bit of research to do. Thanks again. :)
Hmm how did people reply 14+ hours ago
it's released to patrons a day early
Only works on 64 bit not on 32 bit
0:32 Background music: no, don’t do it…. You will waste time trying to find and perfectly place tracks. Run risks. And annoy those of us who just want to hear your voice and the tutorial. If we want music, I’ll play my own.
Psttttt it's called macOS for over 5 years now
You are catering to an audience that is generally plenty interested enough to look up this very obscure thing, and learn about it.
Yes, lose the music.
Nay
NO background music. NONE. NADA. Zilch. NEVER!
Understood 😁
